Getting those ITB's synced and that resonance flap squared away will make a world of difference for the powerband. Thanks for sharing, these videos simultaneously brought me back in time 15 years and made me incredibly jealous. Enjoy the car, it's a great one
Great restomod job as always. There’s another small and cheap fix for the sticky/lumpy throttle and that’s the throttle linkage itself. There’s a rubber bushing that wears out and makes the throttle very firm and notchy, check those out for the next episode and keep it up gents!
This is a heap of work done in five episodes. Love the finished product. 18's and the smoked headlights make for a cool exterior look. It's not OEM+ but just like OEM lightly modified. Black interior is a great change as well. The no stress daily use value in this car is worth it 100%.
@@bgee461 a four-eyed fox body is actually on our list of builds to do, since it was my high school/early college car but it got written off in a accident (by my dad) so I've always wanted another. We're thinking about doing a series where we both buy, restore and mod the same make/model of car we drove when we were in high school/early college years.
The interior looks so much better. It’s the touch point and what you see when driving so makes such a difference on how you feel about the car in general…. It’s definitely the start of the rabbit hole 🕳
The E34 M5 was the one car I slept on and feel like now have missed out. I wanted one so bad to go beside my E30 but I can't justify today's prices ended up getting an E82 instead. That said, I did get to enjoy an 89 525i and a 93 535i for several years so at least I got my taste of it even if it wasn't in M flavour. Really enjoyed watching this series.
The FLEXUS at the end was perfect. I’m modding my suspension in the rear on my 2001 LS430 exactly the way you did yours. I know it’s gonna turn out great! Muffler delete and wheels coming soon as well. I love the content, keep it up boys 👌
I've found if you brush the fibers on the parcel shelf between coats that they don't come out as crunchy. Also if you want to try to chase down squeaks and rattles if you wrap those door clips with a little bit of tesa tape it clears up a fair amount of noise. It worked wonders in my Mk6 Golf R doing that.
Loved the build. Bmw frustrations make for great content. The German vs Japanese car narrative between PT and DP is great, and we hope to see more of it in the future.
Love this era M5. Nice mods, tastefully done. I'd like to keep the 18's and maybe see you guys roll the fenders? Keep this one. Do More. Maybe give it a paint job in the future, go into what needs to be done. Keep it going.
Awesome job on the interior swap and adopting the M540 seats! Brings back memories having to remove everything, including the headliner, seats and door cards. That interior set is such a rarity if it came from 1 of 32 M540s from Canada! 🤩 I truly enjoyed every one of these episodes. Very satisfying to complete all the things that were fixed, replaced and upgraded. 👍
Your e39 m5 wagon brought me to the channel but the content is so good on the JDM stuff I have been hooked ever since. Really enjoyed more BMW content but honestly I'd watch you guys work on just about anything! Keep it up!
Man PT, that interior is so beyond rad. What an absolute score. It reminds me of the E36 LTW interior. I can't believe how well it matches the "perfectly imperfect" theme of the build too. Loved this series guys!!
I will literally delete Google Chrome if that ad keeps popping up. On a lighter note, beautiful car. I am in love and I’ve always been a BMW enthusiast so this hands down one of the best rebuild y’all have done.
Pete is looking tired. Both of you need to take a trip with your family. Car content is for sure draining both mentally and physically. The bimmer came together nicely 👌🏻
That shifter along with the E60 short shifter is a match made in heaven. I have the exact same setup except I have the taller version without the silver ring.
E34 ist the best looking 5 series ever made. Love the look - but if you’ve a few minutes left, put the orange front blinkers back in. It’s so stunning in combination w/ black headlights. Try it out
The interior looks great. Regarding the parcel shelf, I used normal matte black spray paint on my 318ti and it covered perfectly and felt no different 👌🏻
E34 is my absoulute favourite car in the whole world. Mainly beacuse my first car was 1994 E34 520iA back at 2008 when I was only 18 back then. Nowdays I really want to find a decent one for those sunday drives. But it seems to be more difficult then finding a needle in hay stack even in Europe. Great job guys and I really hope this beauty beast will get some nice bodywork one day. It deserves it, to look like a brand new ride on the outside.
Great work with this series guys, thoroughly enjoyed it! Also that interior is so cool, I'll be honest I'd not even heard of the E34 M540i but that interior suits the M5 very well indeed. Looking forward to what comes next!
Love the looks of that car, the interior looks mint after you finished it up. Can't wait for the future episode where you sync the ITB's. The sounds this thing produces are fantastic!
Really enjoyed the restomod of the M5. I live in Europe (the Netherlands) and maybe we get the, in your opinion, better looking versions of european cars but I envy you for the enormous amount of parts for japanese cars you can get, that’s a lot harder over here. But the M5 looks stunning. All the new trim, the depo light units, the wheels….it looks very good! So good job guys, you definately pulled this one off!👍🏻
amazing transformation, the exterior mods and interior are awesome. fantastic work. I love those 18"s so just throw maybe a fender roll or camber to get it to not rub. awesome build! but back to the JDM legends boys!
For the fabric spray you gotta use a brush and brush it in deep into the fabric as you're spraying it. After it dries rub it off and you'll see stuff sorta flake off and it won't have that hardness nearly as bad. I use that stuff a lot and get great results but learned some tricks over the years for a better end result.
A beuatifull car!!!! I the Netherlands you can’t find them anymore, or they will have a price on it that you don’t want to buy them!! Nice work and i will put the 17” wheels on it! Greetz from the Netherlands , ramon
Thank you for doing these build videos. This is something that I would do myself but of course without the same means and resources. Creep is real and I never seen it until now 🤑. This channel gives me hope to Keep on keeping on.
using vinyl and fabric paint you have to brush it once cured and then give it a another coat until color is desired. it will become super hard especially on carpet surfaces
Pete, maybe repair that carbon trim like you would fiberglass and warp in something like stek dynocarbon-gloss. It's a PPF but looks pretty realistic. I'm not usually a fan of fake carbon but it's good.
DD Speed Shop used some fabric spray that covered much better. He sprayed a set of beige seats. Put pre-preg from the guy doing Coney Celica over the old carbon.
Dude chewed the gum Absolute legend.

Yeah, that project car creep needs to work its way to the engine compartment a bit more if only for drivability and reliability's sake.
Just in time for it to leak something.

@@georgegoodall3573 not enough zinc for that sir
holy crap! you hit the jackpot with that interior! I bet the seller was so stoked to finally get rid of it
I would kill someone to be able to put that interior in my calypso E34
Their stable is epic. One of the best of all time.
The variety and spec of cars is truly some of the best. Add to that, the attention to detail and quality of parts... yeah, it's unbeatable
If they peppered in some American cars, I wouldn't even be mad. A four eyed fox body Mustang, maybe a B body impala SS

Pro tip 3M window weld urethane creates an unbelievable bond for plastic to the bmw fiber door panels.

Yeah folks need to learn about the magic of teflon tape, it is also great for reducing urethane bushing binding, especially sway bar bushings.
@@anydaynow01 Tesa tape, not teflon tape. Tesa tape is like fiber tape for eletrical looms.
Loved the build. Bmw frustrations make for great content.
The German vs Japanese car narrative between PT and DP is great, and we hope to see more of it in the future.
Love this build. The wheel reveal of those 18" was epic! Stunning looking car. Never thought a silver car could look so good

My favorite part is when Pete actually chewed the ancient stick of gum. 😂
🤣+🤮
Got some MCM Vibes there 😅
Moog has entered the chat
How it feels to chew 5 gum...
That black interior is worst every penny! So amazing! Rips good on the top end for sure! As always another great series!
That M5 looks absolutely stunning. Another legend in the collection. Enjoy 👍

Don’t know why but I keep looking at that itr you have up there.
that car came out reaaaaally good
Interior looks waaaaaayyyyy better! Well done. Timeless car...
I'd consider rolling the fenders a bit before switching out the wheels, but the car looks amazing you guys did an awesome job bringing it back

It was all with it for the car phone! Love that!
The M5 is looking good and the carpet is fine. I'm with Dave the Flexus is the sharpest 4 door Speed Academy build.
Great work guys!!! Greetings from Stockholm Sweden.
Watching that interior get install was so satisfying!
The interior looks way better than before. I wish it wasn't black but it looks so clean.
I was actually digging that purple deck cover. PT you should have mailed a piece of that gum to Moog at Mighty Car Mods😆

These guys make everyday build problems look so easy! Great collection of cars

That black interior knocked the car out of the park.
What a job you’ve made of this car! Tasteful enhancements throughout, awesome build as always 😎
This build is so OG, it looks amazing.
No longer a beater! The interior completely transformed it
I reckon high polishing the lip on the wheels would make this look 10 times better. Great build man!
Love the wheels, car looks very nice. The interior swap and the deck look great too

Love the E34.
Will continue to watch every episode.
One of my favorites in your fleet of cars, this really gives off the james bond vibes.
