The summer before Season Four, the producers went to France to the Loire Valley and elsewhere to famous castles and structures to give the show depth. They asked Morrow and Jason to go with free air and expenses, but no pay. They were getting paid when episode aired. Both said unless they were paid, no go. That is why the exterior shots are wide and stand ins were used in this episode, the Linesman and the one where Rick Jason escapes from the castle.
