Some people seem to think that you have to do this to change the bulbs, you don't. This is only if you're trying to replace the headlight assembly, due to cracks or discoloration of the lens.
Seriously guys thank you so much. This is the same model of car I have and I’m about to change the headlights. Your videos are so thorough and easy to follow. I am new to DYI car stuff and you all make it seem possible. Thank you!
I did this yesterday in my driveway, with just a couple of ramps to elevate the front a bit. These instructions were incredibly helpful and 100% accurate. It went incredibly smoothly, and even though I was delayed a bit by one of the top bolts when the philips head stripped out, and a half hour round trip to the nearest auto parts store to get a pair of turn signal bulbs and side marker bulbs (both of which can't be changed without going through this whole process and 3 of the 4 were burned out for me), I was still able to do the job in a bit less than 2 hours. The instructions for aligning the headlights were also very helpful and only took about another 10 minutes, once it was sufficiently dark out. Thanks for the great video!
Great tutorial!! He went through each step thoroughly so you can follow along. I did not remove the lower splash guards. I don't think this step is necessary and it makes more work for you.
Thanks for the video. This helped me with the process. My 2009 Camry with 370k; the center bolt stripped in half when I used the 10mm socket and ratchet on it and the bottom half is still stuck. My two screws on the side with the rubber covers would not come out with my Phillips head screw driver, actually my screw driver broke when trying to turn them. WD-40 did not help at first. I was about to try a 15mm round off socket but my neighbor was able to get them turning with some vice grips.
Thanks for the video. I can see that this is going to steal my Saturday from me. So im doing that next weekend. I'm glad my ranger was an easy job and only took a couple hours. The other car I have to do this to is my brother's 01 explorer and maybe an 04 F150.
On the plastic rivets, you just push in the center pin and then pull the whole rivet out. To put back, just pop the center pin up, insert the rivet and then push the pin flush. Super easy and commonly used on motorcycles.
Love my 09 camry but having to take the entire front of the car apart to change a headlight is just oxymoron. Ridiculous! What happened to simply opening the hood and popping the light out and replacing.???
Great video... I did mine in 30 minutes! I did put it on ramps to get at the bottom bolts easier, but it wouldn't have made much of a difference in time if I hadn't.
Not all manufacturers require removal of the front bumper for full access to the headlights. I know my 2009 Hyundai Sonata headlight assemblies can be easily removed.
You probably have burned projector bowls and need to replace the entire assemblies. The heat from the halogen bulb burns off the chrome inside the projectors and ruins them.
they are often confused you are right. 158/168/193 look similar but have different specs especially in watts. There is a slight difference between 168 and 194 bulbs in their wattage. The first one has a power rating of 4.9 watts, whereas the latter has 3.8. The 194 is best for applications where constand lighting is needed like trunk ares..etc.

This video was so helpful! completely installed the headlights by myself without any issues!
Thank you very much for a clear explanation and a very well photographed video!
Thanks for taking the time to make the video, very instructive!

Nice vid, like the way you explained how to adjust the headlight height. Also can hear you clearly.

I guess I’ll leave it for the mechanic 👨🔧 thanks 😊 great video tho.
I like all your videos but I remember when I bought a headlite for $ 1.50 and changed it in five minutes . Whats this world comming to.
Easy but sooooo many screws to just replace the headlights haha.
Exactly! They don't make anything easier these days!!😆😆
Great video.Thorough and efficient.

What do you do if the adjuster doesn't move the light beam?
Do you have a video on how to remove those bolts (screw with rubber cap @3:43) holding the bumper in if the rust penetrant doesn't work?
How long does it take for the rust penetrant to begin to work?
mine are rusted and stripped
i tried to drill them out
but it didn't work
so i don't know what to do
because now i can't use a screw 🪛 driver
Don't know why vehicle manufacturers require you to disassemble the entirety of the front end to change a headlight. Stupidity
You can't get one of the inside bolts to remove the headlight without removing the bumper
Not all manufacturers require removal of the front bumper for full access to the headlights. I know my 2009 Hyundai Sonata headlight assemblies can be easily removed.
robguerr1988 it’s stupid, I had a 2001 Town car cartier that you could remove the headlights without removing the bumper
I just finished. I only removed the top and the bolt and clips and bolt at the fender.
It was stupidity to me until I realized that if it was not like this, you'd be buying new headlights daily.
Excellent video, thank you!!

What are the best brightest bulbs for headlights on 2009 toyota camry hybrid? Very difficult to see at night
You probably have burned projector bowls and need to replace the entire assemblies. The heat from the halogen bulb burns off the chrome inside the projectors and ruins them.
could you please do one for how to replace headlight assembly for 2009 Lexus ES350
THX BRO!
which socket of the high beam and low beam?
my camey has like a fender thingy , so i cant just snap it off .
its like a bumper lining
So glad I didn't have to lift the car and take everything off.
A lot of works for me and I can’t do anything about that.
How can i remove rusted and wasted screws? I have tried everything and they wont budge
me too
mine are rusted and stripped
so i tried to drill them out
Too labor intensive. Too many parts to loose and or confuse for the average Joe
How much would you pay to do this work if you rather sit inside and watch the game?
Just under 200
Its not a 194 bulb its a 158.

You don't have to remove the splash guard fully, just a waste of time
Agreed, I just removed the front bolts hooking it into the bumper itself. Other than that this video was super helpful! Thanks! :-)
I hate these new cars
why a big ass extension lol
