Is it possible to use some kind of hyper shift on headlights? Of course in a sense that it doesn't interfere with the lights on but only noticeable off in daylight. I'm just asking out of curiosity. Nice informative video as always. 👍
My only caveat is you may need to remind customers that they could go a step further to sand w/1200 grit vertical swipes if they noticed the 600 left any scratches.
As someone who does this for a living, and who has been looking at those grimey lights for a long time wishing I could help. I can say you nailed it. And I only wish I was smart enough to put together a kit before you. 😆
Yes!!! I've been looking for this! My 89 yr. old mother has a little Honda FIT, and the headlights have seen better days. I'm going to get this kit and fix them for her!! No, she doesn't drive, I play chauffeur for her. Thank you so much, very informative! Love you videos, too. Watch them all the time because I'm curious if the paint will look good. Listen, even your paint failures look good, so that's saying something!
I just want to share an experience. I sent this company a message about matching a specific paint with the paint code I have from the original car, the TwerkStallion. They sent me to Gabe who sent me a full email on what to get, how much and all the links to the specific supplies I would need to recreate that color. I called 20 other places around me and they would say no because I only need a small amount or they would set an amount like $250 for a pint. I just want to thank you for the help. I'm going to have a few stickers made and put it on the car when I send it to Hert.
I restore classic cars and have had my own with grime and haze, this kit is ingenious. I love using your products, just wish I thought of something like this years ago
Nice clear speech, easy to understand & relate to what he is showing us!! Without a doubt this guy knows what he is talking about, no bullshit just straight-up!! Excellent instructional video. His approach to this particular problem could so easily be utilised for other similar types of motor vehicle break-downs etc, etc!! Waiting for your next video???
I would suggest buying a sanding sponge because it will give a more even surface finish because doing it by hand along will cause random preasure where your fingers are pressing down.
Great little kit you guys made there. 👍 I would argue that in most cases, it would probably be better, (and maybe easier) to just take the headlights of the car, before working on them.
Wouldn't argue that! However as a primarily DIY focused channel, we try to show how you can get these projects done the simplest and easiest way possible.
@@ronnierobinson9960 Not gonna disagree with you, about newer cars being a pain to work on. Older cars are often way easier. (And more fun) I was just thinking that if you're restoring headlights on a car. Then it's probably an older model. 🙂 But yeah. We may be entering the era of "old cars" being too new for home mechanics.
I miss the old cars where the headlights were easy to deal with. I have a 2001 Subaru and I have to take it to a shop to replace the bulbs because you have to take half of the car apart just to get at one of them. Even the mechanics think it's a PITA.
Ah, nice! I tried a DIY kit from a store and the results were.... not great. We had the headlights restored on our ancient Honda last time we had a full detail, but I'm starting to see a little bit of fog on my 2010 Miata now, just on the top edge. I'll probably give it a nice headlight spa day when I replace the cloth top later on this year.
I have always polished the haze off before I cleared it, but I see that may not be necessary. I am out of clear, guess I will have to order some from you.
I assume the lights shouldn't cloud again? Thats the purpose of the limited lifetime warranty? Super interested, but I need to know how long to expect clear lights before I can commit.
Sick video! Im definitely sharing this with my group for them to come oickup a kit and watch this great video explaining it. 💙🩵 love you're vids bud. Do some more blues 😁
Nice product to add to the lineup. Kinda helps make yal a one stop shop to drastically improve the look of an aged ride in one shipment. What good is spraying a car, having it turn out nice, and then still have some fogged headlights detracting from the whole look? I’ll prolly try it out when I make my next purchase
Some of our videos I can't wait to see what people say about the color, and I see a bunch of "bro those headlights" comments. Kills me lol. Gonna redo all of them eventually
@@dipyourcar haha I’ve never noticed. I’m always so mesmerized by the colors, but yeah, it can definitely kill a look. I kinda wish there were glass covers or headlight options available in the aftermarket seeing that they fade so quickly. Might be a pain to figure out and expensive, but I’d have to imagine that they would sell…. Hmmm maybe I can be the guy! Lol

Approve of sanding by hand as its simple and you get a better feel for what is happening to the lens. Some kits use pads for drills.
Awesome, I will be buying one, for sure this month.
If you are mechanically inclined enough, you can remove the headlamp assembly and do this 'off the car'.
My only caveat is you may need to remind customers that they could go a step further to sand w/1200 grit vertical swipes if they noticed the 600 left any scratches.

😂

I’ve been sanding back and buffing them up for yrs.
Bit stupid that they changed from glass to plastic in the first place.
Looked a decent finish 👌🏻
How about tail lights
I would suggest buying a sanding sponge because it will give a more even surface finish because doing it by hand along will cause random preasure where your fingers are pressing down.
Love the results, the lenses look great! Nice to see that little bit of a sway from the norm too, but I LOVE THE REGULAR CONTENT!!
It certainly looks so much better than before
I have done a couple of my cars like that
Michigan here.. less than $70.. shared with my fb group.. Can't believe how much comes in the kit for the price.
man, I've been doing this for years using 800, 1400, and finally 1800 wet sand grit.. All overkill evidentally... those look amazing!!
The way you should do it for THE best outcome.
His headlights are not as clear as they could be.
$60 for one car?? Is this a joke??
Ive made double that for a restoration
my headlights are from 2007 and hella fogged you think the higher the number the better of an outcome ill have ?
Finally, no more Hypershifts 😀 Thanks alot my little muscle man! I love it.
My next project. Thanks Fonzie!!😁👍

As a person who works in a body shop I would have to disagree, most newer cars are a pain to do anything with the headlights

@maxmoller well I'm referring to like 2005-10 and up
Hell I've seen cars a few years old with yellowed up lights

I don't needed until now, my car is new. But it is good to know, that there is now an easy solution. Thanks a lot for this video.
How long dose this last ?
What kind of clear coat spray is that?
Dang! This is on my list of things to do.
I swear I wanna mention about your headlight everytime I saw that but restrain from being rude etc. hahahaha..FINALLY!
Yeah I’m going to need this for sure! Thanks for showing us
Any advice if you get paint drips?
Thanks Fonzie, your headlights were killing me for a long time brother! 😂😂
wow I had no idea it was this easy. The headlights on my 07 CRV are just starting to get cloudy at the top. ty
Awesome video keep up the good work
Wish I had seen this with my old Lincoln. It was seriously cloudy.
Awesome video! Thanks for keeping it simple.
Can this be used as a preventative on new vehicles? If so, what are the steps?
sick! amazing to see how far yall have come. Any way you can paint the Dyc mustang black to forest green shift?
Great job. I did it twice same way :)

Very cool project.
Totally need this! thanks the demo! Ps we need to get you a bigger shirt cause those arms are HUGE!
Thank you watched from uk 🇬🇧 I'll be doin mine when kit arrives

Brad is the man !!

I just wanna see Fonzie color match this crazy matte Grey I seen on a factory kia so i can slap it on my Bimmer.
Looks good 👊🏼
Can you buff the clear iron would it need a second coat?
I assume the lights shouldn't cloud again? Thats the purpose of the limited lifetime warranty? Super interested, but I need to know how long to expect clear lights before I can commit.
Yup that's the purpose of the warranty - if it dulls, fogs, etc during it's lifetime - it's replaced.
Nice work. I heard if you wanted to take it a step further you, could compound and polish it as well.
will this remove 'road rash' or rock chips in the headlights?
This is awesome. Is there any way to get just the clear coat? Already have everything else sitting around in the garage.
Yes online. Meguiars is one such brand. Available most places with car care products or online
Yea, go to any store that sells it!
They only sell the cans in bulk on their site..
I was wondering the same thing. I looked on Meguiar's site and didn't find a clear coat, only a plastic polish (Meguiar's M10)

Oh man do I need that for my moms car they are so bad I hate driving at night with her car
Use a bit of soap in the water to stop the paper getting cloggy
If ou use dishwashing liquid it also cleans polish and silicone off the surface
@@davidbarnsley8486 i use that when i,m sanding a car
One of my headlights has started to delaminate a little on the top. Will sanding with both the 400 and 600 even it out?
These headlights did turnout pretty cherry. Noice!
I love the STI, but it really needs the headlights to be repaired. I hope to se it looking its best soon.
Quick question? After you dip your car if you want to do it again do you have to peel the old dip off first or do you spray over the top of it?
Good video
Good stuff!
No problem with the outside of the lens, mine are misting up on the inside.😂
that's cool, and works well
Thanx!
A Wednesday video??? Also this is a long overdue one. The headlights have always distracted from the dip
it's true
What’s done to the rs6. I see aftermarket intake ?
Tune, exhaust, intake, downpipes, etc
lol, I commented a while ago about the tail lights. Did you get those too? ;)
I'm surprised that only one wet coat is needed. Figured it would be 2 or 3 coats with a sand and polish for the final step.
it's not a traditional clear, it's made just for this purpose. 1 coat does the trick!
Thanks
Mother sure could use this on her lights.

Hey I just said this last video! Now fix the tint 🤣
Less expensive than new headlights for sure. However, that must be some super duper clearcoat in that small aerosol can..pricey

in germany we say: Tüv sagt Nein!
Speaking of Germany, I've just noticed that the car has a German plate (or well at least the blue EU D strip on the side).
@@free4fire You don't need front plates in Florida, so its just a vanity plate, probably as the car is German
du kannst die einfach polieren ohne den Klarlack, das merkt der Tüv auch nicht

How about taking off your shirt and do some push-ups and then start the show

Это временное решение. Лучше уж купить новую фару. Но спасибо за обзор. И удачи

Looks great but why not tint them. Aquamarine or a gold hue would look dope AF on the Audi.
Because most people like to have functional headlights
Good thing my lights are glass.
Remember, fellas, "If it ain't nice and wet, please forget."
WHat if my crazy A$$ did clear coat once before? It starting to peel lol
Sand it off w 400, then 600, then proceed w the kit as normal
