A hit with both family and customers, it's straightforward and perfect for anyone with fresh okra. Dive in as I reveal the secrets behind this favorite!
I made pickled okra for the first time this year and I used the Mrs. Wagers regular dill pickle packets. It's great and we're enjoying it.
I NEEDED this video this year, thank you, thank you, thank you! We have been saying for years we are gonna can our own stuff. Surprisingly enough this year our okra was the ONE plant that popped up in abundance so this year is the year it’s gonna happen! Thanks for always putting out great content Jill, we are always praying for your family. Take care 👋🏻
That is so great to hear, and I love when that happens lady, and I will get that okra pickled up and I guarantee you you will love it and it is very shelf stable. You’ll love it especially around the holidays when you have it as a relish, or as a side
Thanks so much for the video.
Very welcome’
We love pickled okra!!! Thanks for the secret recipe!

Agree Mrs Wages is so good.😊
That's all I use
Hey thanks for the tip. I just happen to have some on hand to use. I'm adding a jalapeno or two though and some garlic.
Yummmmm

Thank you so much 😊
Definitely need to try this for sure!! We eat those Talk O Texas ones but love to make my own!
Yes you have to try these! ❤️
Thanks! I'm going to plant a few okra plants for my fall garden. I don't have much space, but I can see that I have to squeeze a few more plants in now! I'll be 68 Tuesday & I just started canning this year. I always helped my mom when I was a kid, but I always thought that it was harder than it really is! I usually just plant a couple of okra plants & eat them raw. I've got to up my game now! Thanks again, & God Bless!
You go Lita!

Thanks for showing us the water bath method on the Denali. I know it does this method but I haven't seen others use it for water bath. Jill, I was going to ask where you buy the brine but I see you mentioned it on a previous comment here. Thanks for the video.
❤️❤️❤️
Mrs Wages' anything is great. Used it to pickle zucchini slices.
Mrs Wages has great season packages 😊
💚👏
Okra has been our biggest producer over the past few years, making us wonder what the heck we can do with all of it. This is GREAT idea!
Oh yea!!! It’s so delicious! Especially with catfish and as a garnish around the holidays
This year was our first time canning, and I wondering about the cucumber and okra be above the brine. Would it be an issue if all of it isn't submerged in the brine?
I the flavors may mingle! Cucumber is very strong . Do one jar and test! ❤️
Dam , I like okra........for sure. wish I lived close to you, would be visiting you all the time...
Awe me too!
@ntxg We have used okra that was as much as 4-5 days old. What is the difference from using only 1-2 days old fruits?
We have a small garden and don’t can every day.
My wife has her own recipe and I haven’t noticed any particular difference when eating them.
Hidy Blue! I’m glad all is fine! Ours tend to get mushy after about 2 days. Thank you for watching and tips
@@ntxg gotcha! And my friends call me Bill, so you can too!
@@bluediamondbillHello 😮
I love Mrs Wages!
You use that Ms Wages for pickling other vegetables like califlower and peppers?
Yes but not peppers we use our own recipe
@@ntxg Do you have a video on that one by chance?
Where do you find Mrs. Wages brine?
Most grocery stores but also Amazon.

I pickled okra the store brought in for me. I am sure it wasn’t fresh. I am going to eat it anyway because I can’t drive to Texas.
