Probably why the launch was not shown on the first three races (presuming they were standing-start as the other races were labeled as roll) and the lack of commentary
Even though the Stinger is heavier, I guessed it would win from a dig with a good start as that auto transmission is strong and will gain a few tenths for every pull, other than the second race, he also had the best starts. The weight, lower torque and the auto really hurts it on the roll race as shown. The civic looks like it makes peak power and torque higher in the rev range which is tough to keep at in the first few geaes, especially if they are longer, but you could see the power hitting near the end of the race when he was probably holding longer in the 5500+ rev range. Mustang is solid n/a muscle that does well in both areas and results were more based on reaction times. Really impressive how 3 completely different cars are so very close. I would love to see a rematch with a few more races in each discipline and I think anyone could win any brace depending on reaction times
Damn that KIA Stinger let them get the sting for sure! 😂 Didn’t expect that outcome at all. I thought the Civic was going to win given the power to weight ratio of the 3.
@@burgerbandit3646 I don't think that's a sufficient explanation, at least not without further evidence. I saw their reply saying as much, but that car isn't making that much power except on a Dyno, which is meaningless. You put that against other cars of similar power to weight ratios, and it's getting absolutely gapped. That's not say it isn't impressive, but if your car can only work once in the most ideal of conditions, then it's disingenuous to advertise it at that power level. A stock Prius can make 500whp once.
@KamikazeSOF2 heatsoaking is a real thing and is a reasonable explanation for me. Yes, cars should be able to perform their duties in repetition but these are also daily vehicles and not race cars. Even actual drag cars become heatsoaked after multiple back 2 back passes with no time to cool off.
@@burgerbandit3646 I understand that, but even the first race didn't show that the Type R is putting out those sort of numbers. The hp/weight says the Honda should have kicked butt. Was the hp exaggerated?
380 for usure, not many are above 400 wheel and safe so doubt it was 400 wheel even
850rwhp 2017 ZL1 owner here. We can only muster 170mph in the 1/2 mile in our slow car so watching these was awesome!😁
Can't wait to see when y'all bring the 2024 mustang onto the channel!
My friends Chrysler 300 AWD V8 diablo tuned is crazyyyy quick off the line I want to see that compared to the Kia stinger GT2 AWD
How did they determine the hp of these tunes? It doesn’t look like the civic is 480 hp
More like 380whp
Results all over the place for repeated races of the same kind = driver inconsistency.
Probably why the launch was not shown on the first three races (presuming they were standing-start as the other races were labeled as roll) and the lack of commentary
Heat soak?
I have a G70 w/jb4 so this will be interesting for me.
You car is lighter too
@@whosdondada I'm in Hawaii too so no need for AWD so thats even a alot of kilos less weight.
That Typer R is losing but, that's the car I'd take. Looking forward to the race!
The guy in the Honda is slow with gearshift from what I can see
@Catholic Firefighter watch the video and see the intervals between gear changes
The GT driver had me laughing 😂
that civic doesn't have 480bhp )))
I heard Manual Mustangs until 2011- 2018 have serious yes Manual transmission problems, automatic were more reliable but still double check not sure
I love my Type R for the Handling and reliability
So many here are whining the Mustang needs to be a 10-speed auto to have a fair shake against a 4 cylinder MANUAL, and that's just SAD!
Damn that KIA Stinger let them get the sting for sure! 😂 Didn’t expect that outcome at all. I thought the Civic was going to win given the power to weight ratio of the 3.
That cannot be the correct figure. Maybe 380. A Type R with 480 to the wheels (or even the crank) would've walked that Mustang in the roll race.
@@KamikazeSOF2 he was heatsoaked
Again, not trying to shit on the guy, but I need more than a claimed Dyno run to believe that thing is putting down anywhere close to 435 wheel.
Any Type R making 400+ wheel would absolutely shit on a bolt on/tune 6 speed manual Gen 2 Coyote. You're not getting much from the tune on the Coyote.
Stinger/g70 best cars for Money
Stinger GT is just a beast 😂
Awd and auto?
the mustang needs a good driver
Great video Sam 👏👏👏
Why not a gen 3 A10 performance pack with E85 tune
cause then it wouldn't be a race
The type r is definitely making closer to 350-380 hp
Mustang has more horsepower and a 10 speed mustang can defeat the type r
How much of a head start did the civic want on roll race 2... 🤣🤣🤣
@@jdomingues366 roll race not dig. Who the 🤡 now! You are...🤣🤣
Look at the damn wheel on the mustang, litterally fighting trying to keep it straight, no wonder they're crowd killers xD
Put a real driver on the Civic and see what happens. Dude had about 3 secs in between shifts. Any old Honda head is screaming at their phones..
Before watching the video, the Civic is mostly likely going to gap them both. Power to weight determines times, dictated a little by the driver.
They're still different niches, I'd prob get the type R cuz it'll dominate in the corners but the Stinger is tempting
Why are you racing with it?
@@Blue-moon12 that’s what the type R is literally designed for
@K O No it's designed to be a street car that you can take to the track, not the other way around. If you're not racing it the cornering stuff is pretty moot
@@Blue-moon12 Sure… the type R wasn’t designed for racing, and no people do race in the street even in Japan. I race on the track so I would pick the type R
@K O That's fair enough mate, that was all I was asking haha. Cool that you are able to get to the track.
The launch is everything.
Just goes to show that shifting matters so much. Mustang was pulling away at times and getting walked at times
Wondering if the Stinger has TCU tuned.
