The Z driver shifting was so smooth
That Hyundai is very impressive for the money.
Only for drag.
Z reduced to racing civics and elantras... Embarrassing.
Still cheaper than a civic
I wanna see a EVO X and STI against the R and N
Evo and sti are far less slower than the N and the R from a roll. From a dig they gonna get chased down
I like your thinking lol
Should be close from a dig. Roll? Lol... they'll lose easily
@@jponz85 nah, the Evo and sti make like 240-250 to the wheel… the R it’s like 280 and the N is around there. The R and the N are lighter than both the Sti and the Evo. So top end it’s GG roll or dig
Sounds like you just want to see FWD turbos dominate some old AWD legends. Have you no respect
Nice video. I would love to see this Z come back with some more competitive tires.
If it weren't for the crazy 10-20K markups, I would definitely go for the Nissan Z.

No kidding, everything over here is marked up 20-40k. Scat pack widebody for 107k.......bruh. z for 85k. Type s integra for 75k. Ridiculous
Awesome video ! I'm inlove with the Type R . Also excited but I have to wait until 2025 for mine to arrive. The Nissan is on a different level though God damn that RWD is powerful. Keep it up.
I see you Guyana 🙌🏾 Nice shifting!
I see Sam got a lot faster with the shifting🔥, great runs! Type R shifts and engine sound so crispy and smooth. The Z is on a whole other lvl though😂.
fake engine noise from fl5
Z is on the Supra level, of course above TypeR.
@b8067hc from the races I seen the Z gets destroyed by the Supra, and that hurts to say as a VR owner lol.
Manual Z vs Manual supra is close
@@b8067hc same price point tho.. Type R is $60,000...
Good race...Sam, you should try the 50mph roll race speed next to see the outcome. Interesting that the speed was the same from a dig and roll race. Looks like it was about a 5 car gap from the dig on the last one with the Elantra. Can't wait to see the Acura integra Type S race!
Agreed, 50 or 60 in third. Since you already did 30 in second, its pretty much the same doing 40 in second.
Current N car owner, former Q50 owner(same engine as the Z). If you want to drag race, the Z is obviously the way to go here. RWD>FWD. Tires and a tune and they'll probably beat the fastest FB0 tuned N car out there. My Q50 went 11.71 tune only, 11.39 with just downpipes and an e30 tune.
N vs CTR, I can't comment about the manual Ns, but the DCT Ns post faster 1/4 mile ETs than the CTRs do. They tend to come off the line quicker, even having skinnier tires and all that. I'd still expect the DCT N to lose in a roll race to a CTR with a good driver most of the time. Slightly more power, slightly lighter.
On a track, manual vs manual, it's been proven multiple times that the CTR is generally a bit faster. A savagegeese video was recently done comparing lap times of the CTR vs EN(and a few other cars) all done by the same driver on the same tires. The CTR won, but not by a lot. The EN, from what the video shows, was only boosting 15psi, so it may not have been octane learned. Octane learning is a real thing on these cars and might account for a legit 30-50hp or something. In my testing, just octane learning reduces almost a half a second from the 0-60 alone from the extra 3-5psi boost(depending on fuel grade).
That being said... The CTR looks way better than the EN inside out and has a higher build quality. Resale value on the CTR will absolutely crush the ENs. People sell 5 year old CTRs for the same price they paid for them, so you could buy one and basically drive it for free over a few years of ownership(assuming you could get one at MSRP). A 5 year old EN will probably loose $7-12k or something. Hard to say exactly, we're not there yet.
All in all, as an N car owner, I'd say the CTR is a better overall package, but is it worth the $10,000 MSRP over the EN? Eh, maybe if you have no issues affording that and don't care that the DCT EN for example might run the 1/4 a little better. Is it worth the $20k extra people are paying with markups and whatnot included? Eh, no, but at the end of the day with markup included and less depreciation it's probably going to cost you about 10k more than an EN. If 10k isn't a big deal to you, I'd probably go CTR.
At the end of the day, you could buy an EN, spend $1000 on an ECU tune, it'll be faster than a CTR in almost any scenario, and you'll still save $9,000 out front. It may not look as good(personal opinion) and may not have the prestige, but it will likely provide more overall performance for less money. The actual amount of money you'd save over an extended ownership period has yet to be determined.
I apologize for the slightly incoherent rant, it's still early and I haven't finished my 1st cup of coffee yet. I was out late enjoying the 50 degree air, ripping my fantastic tuned DCT N car around on the local country roads. #racetracktheworld #neverjustdrive

The only reason the Z did not destroy the TypeR even more was the very bad launch of the Z driver. Terrible!!
Nice - I especially like the stats posted at the top when comparing the cars! These look like fun races.
Thanks for the content!
Bro said all the wrong stats.
Whoever was driving the Z wasn't doing it justice. Would be a very different race with a competent driver.
Good job guys I love your videos and cars😊
Wish they would bring on the 2.0 Supra, 230i, CT4 V and CLA35
Great races between the Elantra N and Type R but I would have liked to see a driver swap. Both very consistent but the fella driving the type-r was a bit better
Yup I noticed
Not really tyoe r driver shifts too early doesn't give the turbo enough spool
N driver always short shifts
Is the Elantra's steering wheel delaminating already?
The guy in the Nissan Z misshift and the type R still couldn’t catch up so you know that Nissan is a beast
Sam found the roughest Elantra N he could find with that 300,000 mile steering wheel, black badges everywhere and driver who short shifts losing 20 metres each shift. (see his hand fall off the shifter in the video) A manual Elantra N traps 107mph stock so it shouldn't be miles behind, it should stay with TYPER on a roll. DCT is faster again as it doesn't dump boost through gear changes, has more boost and shifts quicker. Sam also likes to get the jump on the runs... He hits the gas and 2 seconds later says GO..
Exactly.
This was easily the most fake test I think I’ve seen in perhaps eleven years. Civil, and short, I know how to do. Hyundai, I have no doubt, spent several million developing that ‘N-Series’ and you slow-walked, and trashed it, horribly. I watched the whole menagerie six times, and thought, I must be losing my mind, and if that’s happened, It will take longer finding it with this channel as a compass. Outside of that, fantastic camera-work.
Good luck

Elantra N curb weight of 3,808lb? And your cc says 3,208lb. Which is correct? I'm going with 3208lb
The key thing to note, is that the real problem are the dealerships that mark these cars high. These franchising laws need to change. It was VERY difficult trying to find a Nissan dealership that didn't want to sell the Z at a ridiculous mark up.
Bro I still haven't seen a Z on the streets yet and I live in a big city...

Love the video. You should try the Sonata N line. Everyone skips over that car and go straight to the Elantra N, when the Sonata N line has more power but weighs just a little more then the Elantra N. Maybe race them against one another. 🤔
Automatic Elantra will beat a Sonata N-Line. They skipped over the sonata because you cannot get the sonata with a manual transmission. All the vehicles in the video had a manual transmission.
If it’s because it’s a automatic, then ok but as far as the Elantra N beating a Sonata Nline. That’s not happening, even if the Elantra is automatic. Sorry brother. It’s been proven so many times. Stock VS Stock
@hardyboylifestyle The contrary has been proven too lmao. People think that just because the Sonata has 20 lb/ft more torque on paper and a 2.5T it gets automatic wins.
It still weighs over 200 lbs more and doesn't have the aero, suspension geometry, gearing, e-lsd, etc. Put both of them on a prepped track and run them multiple times. The lighter DCT EN might not triumph in 0-60 every time, but will trap a better 1/4 mi in a majority of runs stock for stock.
And it also has the superior aftermarket despite being a 2.0T, so either way it's winning in some metric.

@@juanfernandez8987 Yeah, it is simple, Dealers are very greedy and trying to control the market, because they have too much power. In todays terrible economy, people are very desperate, and companies are exploiting this. There are supply shortages everywhere, the economy is crap, so the rich people come out, and will pay any price they ask. Which is a HUGE destriment to the middle and lower class. It is typical greed and exploitation. Honda said, they sold 40% under their projections of the Fk8, all because dealers held them hostage at huge markups and refused to sell them for MSRP. @@TheBreakfastLover fast and the furious 😄. I rather keep the 20k-40k$ 🇨🇦 in my bank account with the markup they asking for the TR, and be 0.2 sec slower. Or just get the DCT N and be faster then the Type R. 🤭🤭
@@avis1978 lol automatic transmission. 😂
Would love to see a Mini Cooper GP on here, those trap 110mph in the quarter stock!
No way they can trap that much...
@@DMCarReviews they do lol. being a bmw engine its probably underrated. at least I think it's a bmw engine...too bad the car is a POS. It's gotten mainly negative reviews and lost every comparison to the type R..
@@DMCarReviews car and driver tested it, 13.1 at 110mph
@@Youcallthesebagels_ damn that’s LS1 fbody speed!! Crazy for a stock mini cooper 😮
Kind of a bad example! Why not the DCT? The EN was designed for the DCT and not the manual. If Honda wanted it to be equal they should make a DCT. Remind your viewers the EN is the champion in WTCR and it’s class in 24 Nurburgring race.
Still looking to see at what point the R will catch up to TLX Type S. Half mile?
Possibly 1/4-mile if the Type R can get a perfect launch. But the TLX Type S has SH-AWD so it'll launch very well and do it consistently.
Put Sonata N Line vs Elantra N (DCT) and make sure you get proper drivers this time around.
