The toys I used to make this video:
- Ibanez RG2027XL-DTB
- JTC Picks by Ibanez
- Sony A6000 with Sony 50mm f1.8 lens
- Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 (2nd Gen)
- Line6 Helix Native
- my regular cable
and my laptop.
That solo was absolutely killer, excellent playing and great choice of solo, super good licks in there.
Thank you so much sir. 🙏🏻🤘🏻
I loved mine when I first got it. Ended up selling it because I was usually too scared to play it too much. Didn't want to scuff the finish. Lol.
Great demo ❤!
Great looking guitar bro!! I had no idea Ibanez had brought this back. I have the old school 2001 RG1077XL model.
DigimortalFM81 honestly, I didn’t know this was a reissue. Until you confirmed it to me. Lols! Cheers mate!
That tone at 2:52...my god.
Inspiring! Nice vid sir
Thank you Arabela!
I’d love this with a mirrored pickguard.
Taken away by you guys. I'm a big fan of timelight panorama.
Wooohhh bro I love this guitar 😍😍😍😍 Damn!!!! I wish I had got prestige instead of my Premium 😅😅😅
I brought this guitar and it’s amazing!! Build pick ups everything awesome!! But had to sell it on my chicks hand just to small for this scale length! Such a shame but was a battle
Dude that song was fucking epic! Thanks man! Now i want that guitar even more 😂 but man, where did you find that shirt? Tried google but came up short.
Thanks bro! The shirt was locally customized by our bassist in Timelight Panorama, Mr. Rodney Vidanes. Sadly, he doesn’t make them anymore. 😥 cheers!
I'll say this, if Ibanez offered this exact guitar, spec'd 100% identically, but with a hardtail bridge, I would have hoarded all of them.
This guitar is everything I'd ever want from a 7 string. I just don't like tremolos.
Beautiful guitar. Is that blue a sparkle finish or a flat blue?
Michael Maier it’s Dark Tide Blue. No sparkle.
Smooth playin'!
Btw, do you have blue dye coming off from your RG2027XL fretboard? Thanks.
Not sure what you’re talking about. 🤔
@@AlbertMontinola Ah, I have a ton of blue dye coming off whenever I wipe the fretboard. I was wondering if you had the same issue? Thanks for the reply.
@@Hennessy7113 no I don’t. Maybe it’s because of the cloth you’re using?
Why is the neck sometimes bright and sometimes dark?
one question: in the video you say it has mahogany body, but in the ibanez page they say its basswood. do you have a special edition or it just a typo?
Oh yeah! You’re right. Sorry my bad. 😂 thanks for pointing it out. 🍻
Since this is a 27in scale does that mean you have to have a lower tuning or can this be played in BEADGBE?
Not that I know of, but I don’t think you have to tune it lower. Actually, I tuned this guitar to BEADGBE.
I'm surprised it came with that hard case instead of the newer polycarbonate case
Yeah. I love this kind of case. It has a more prestigious look to it. And because this has a longer scale than other RG models, that's why it came with this kind of hard case, instead of the regular M20RG type case. :)
@@AlbertMontinola nice, I'm thinking of getting this vs the the new rgd4327
Yee Sen Chai have seen it, it’s the RGDR4327 right? With reverse headstock? Looks amazing! Very fancy looking. But I like the simplicity of the RG2027XL better. But it’s your choice. I’m sure both will be a delight to play with. :)
I just bought a baritone and i really want a 7 string ibanez but i want it to be just in standard tune,, what tune does this one come in?
By default it’s standard tuning with gauge 9’s. I changed this one to gauge 10’s and it’s still in standard tuning. 😊
Ah thanks for the info man this is a very beautiful guitar, i am having a standoff between this one and the schecter c7 apocalypse fr since i really want a sustainiac pickup,
Looks like the same model used by korn before they had the K-7
What’s the difference between this one and a baritone?
A baritone is usually a six string guitar, used for downtuning.(Minimum 27" scale length)
Does it come with ss frets?
No it doesn't.
I thought this is a basswood body? That's what it says on the Ibanez website
Oh you’re right! Sorry, my mistake. Lol! Yes it’s a basswood body and NOT mahogany. Thanks for pointing this out. Cheers! 🍻
@@AlbertMontinola it's alright! I just got excited as I like mahogany bodies haha! I'm trying to decide between this guitar and an ESP EII TB7 snow white but I'd swap the pickups for Bare knuckle Impulse. It's such a hard decision haha
@@DarthJAYder21 one thing I like about this guitar is the DiMarzio Fusion Edge 7 has a nice tone on the mix for recording. For me, it’s just right. 😊👌🏻
How come this comes in standard tuning although it has a 27” scale length?
You can tune it to any tuning you like as long as the guitar can handle it. 😊
@@AlbertMontinola sure I was just suprised. The RGD models have a 26.5" scale length and they come in standard A tuning. :-)
Any experience on what the guitar feels like in standard tuning? Not sure what tuning you used in the video, but I was wondering if there is too much string tension for lead playing in standard tuning since it has an extended scale length.
@@timeflies98 i believe the RGD’s are factory tuned to D standard. 😊
My guitar is in standard E tuning using gauge 10s. The guitar handles it well. Changed to a heavy tension spring and you’re good to go. In regards to how it feels, for me it feels the same. The long scale didn’t give me a hard time adjusting to the tension. 🤟🏻
@@AlbertMontinola yeah you're right they are tuned to D in case it's a six string. so if it's a seven string the lowest note is an A on an RGD.
Anyways I'm pretty suprised you're using 10s for standard tuning on this guitar... :D i was worried about the tension being too strong with 9s in standard tuning on a 27" scale and you're using 10s haha
I'm not sure if i should get this guitar but if so i would like to tune it to drop A but without having too much tension on the high strings so i can still play some lead stuff. did you ever play it in drop A?
@@timeflies98 oh yeah you’re right on the drop A. I forgot we’re talking about 7strs. Lols! Sorry about that. 😁
I’ve been using gauge 10s for a long time because i want the strings to sort of fight back when i’m picking cause i’m a heavy picker. And when i got this guitar, i thought that having a long scale will harden the tension on the default gauge 9 strings. It was still too wobbly for me. Down side to changing to 10s is that you loose the smoothness of the tremolo system. Doesn’t flutter smoothly enough like on the 9s. But it still flutters. But I don’t flutter much, so it’s not a big deal for me. Never tried tuning to drop A cause I don’t know any song to play in drop A. Lol!
This is a good guitar. You should try one. If you’re only from the Philippines, I’ll let you try my guitar. 😊
Wala kang mintis, Altrucci!
Thanks bro. 🙏🏻
