Fun fact: The Iron Fist is based on an actual Medieval Weapon. One Handed & Two Handed versions existed for it, name would be "Dolchstreithammer" or Fisted War Hammer if you wanna look it up.
Raphael’s cane is my favorite. If you play his weapon exhibition with it in his 3rd costume, he laughs along with the sound effect at the end and it’s the funniest thing 🤣
Tira should have had a hula hoop as a joke weapon. Also Tambourine discipline was actually called the jester discipline in the early files of the game. The weapons do have some historical significance, as everyone in court close to the king had to be armed and tambourines at that time were solid wood or metal that each weighed 10-25 lbs a piece. The bells were also solid metal and like ones today were sharp at the edges. They were also 8ins to over 2 feet tall and wide. The Cepheus Seal is a good reference as jesters in the kings court could carry metal (and custom made and forged) metal tambourines with the seal of the kingdom/family on it. Jesters we’re close to the king/queen and were not someone they’d want to leave defenseless as they knew the inter workings and secrets of the royals and were very big negotiating chips if captured.
8:59 Kiseru pipes were a common weapon in medieval japan, they were heavy brass objects reaching often a foot in lenght. A weapon so common in deadly brawls that was banned by name by the government.
I would argue Cassandra's joke weapon in SC3 deserves a bit of a nod for changing to fit the version from her Campaign Ending this time. It actually resembles how it looks when she fails to reforge it, too
In regards to Taki's pipes, the only thing that came to mind was Goemon Ishikawa and his depiction of an oversized pipe, along with Konami's Goemon series where the Pipe is the main weapon. So in some ways, i've associated Pipes as a weapon for ninja, only because in truth, farm tools were the weapon of a ninja due to their unassuming nature, so a pipe could also be one that would catch an opponent of guard.
Looking forward to the SC3 stuff! Would love to see those custom classes covered, I remember most of them being bad and then Dancer being crazy good for no reason
Think you'll get to the weapon styles for the bonus characters? In general, there's a lot of Tekken moves given to them, so I'm interested in what people gotta say about them.
OK now I demand a crossover where lizard man just randomly pops up in one piece and the minute he takes out his giant meat weapon Luffy comes out of nowhere and tries to eat it lol. Great unique April Fools' video!
Thank you for making this video! I saw the comment on it in one of your last videos! I have to ask, can we get a “Top ‘regular’ weapon for every SC2 character” as in what is their best option besides soul edge/calibur etc
Iron Fist is likely a reference to soul blade's disarm mechanic where you would lose your weapon from guarding too much. You would swap to fists and get hurt each time you attacked. A deep cut, but an appreciated touch.
I’ve heard some of these joke weapons went on to reappear with somewhat better nerfs rather than “here’s a weapon that makes an alternative sound effect [most of them make the “thok” sound] and nerfed stats”
uhm kingdom hearts on the ds had it i believe 358 days one of them might have had a tennis racket. i know that game had a ton of joke weapons as well... uhm yeah demyx had a tennis rackquet. or racket.
I'm assuming "Sorrow" is a reference to something from the comics? Not sure, I've never read them. Also, I find it ironic that both Spawn and Kratos have appeared in both Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat. Soul Calibur X Mortal Kombat when!?

Nightmare's SC3 weapon has an extra joke: it's a living sword
8:42 "You wouldn't think of using these pipes as a weapon..."
**Mystical Ninja: Goemon has entered the chat**
I thought we were gonna get a "best weapons for each character" video, but this is great too lol
Termite Snack is underrated as a joke weapon.
When you use a combo that rapidly stacks the “bonk” sound, it sounds hilarious.

The sound for Mitsurugi and Setsuka's weapon is an instrument called a vibraslap!
I love the fact that Link's Joke Weapon is the Bug-Catching Net from A Link to the Past. Lol
Funny hearing the Breath of Fire 3 boss theme. I'm playing that game now!

11:30 Where is this audio from?
Souvenir Gift sounds like a spring that's out of breath.

I actually used to stomp with Nightmare's boat ore, but I think it's just that he does a ton of damage to begin with.
I know Tobal No.1 music from anywhere.
popped for cappriccio's theme from fighting layer showing up here
"Why the crabs?"
Snow crabs
❤
Never used those xD
Had to wait till SC5 to make a working character with a joke weapons because no more effects.
I’ve heard some of these joke weapons went on to reappear with somewhat better nerfs rather than “here’s a weapon that makes an alternative sound effect [most of them make the “thok” sound] and nerfed stats”
Happy April Fools day, you weirdos.
xianghua is based off : the pen is mightier than the sword.
Was there ever a tennis racket used as a joke weapon or did I just make that up?
One of my friends swore up and down that there was one, but he backpedaled when we played again 'cause he was thinking of the butterfly net.
