I've sung praises for SC3's campaigns constantly, but just a reminder it's ALSO a way to unlock more weapon styles for custom characters including the Main Roster ones
Video posted after VERY SAD tweet from Harada that confirmed that now there is no Soulcalibur game in development :_: Also on my list SC6 story is above 4 And weapon master is lower then SC3 because Inferno and Dungeons
@@MultiBoxingKid From what I understand, the franchise had done decently for itself and there are members of staff who want to see the series come back. But with how absolutely asinine the video game industry is right now, it's sadly not as feasible for lesser series like Soulcalibur to make a strong enough comeback at this time. Maybe one day we will see something like a Soulcalibur Legacy Collection (Preferably split into two volumes and figure out the legal mumbo jumbo with Nintendo and Disney), but now just isn't the time. Man, between Star Fox and now Soulcalibur, it really has been a wild west of a time getting into D list series.
Soul Calibur 2's weapon master mode was so goated! The journey, the extra missions, the ups and downs, wrapped up in a good package. Was surprised to see it at the top.
I am happy that soul caliber 3 has both of their story modes be involved the second and third slot because I did enjoy my time with the main story because of how unique it is. I really should get Chronicles of the sword more time to cook now that I'm older and I have a better understanding of the Sr PG genre I guess and why am I not surprised that weapon master mode from 2 would be the number one story mode. It does every single thing that I'm surprised that later games either copy from or make them worse but on the bright side at least 6's story is better than 5 and at least they do the DLC stories for most of the characters better than the main plot( Very happy that there was Justice for my girl Cassandra after all the s*** that she went through.) Another fantastic soul caliber video and it really makes me sad that we're not gonna see the series make a huge comeback for a long long time.
I generally agree with what you say but with some caveats. I’d put 4 closer to the bottom, over 5 and Broken Destiny and Legends but still pretty low because for me the whole vibe of a Soul Calibur story is having a globe trotting adventure and the entirety of 4’s story mode takes place in and around Ostrhineburg Castle, so everyone goes through the same set pieces and it’s makes everything feel a lot smaller, like the whole story is just a DLC extension to 3 almost. Sure the cutscenes and presentation is nice but it rings so hollow otherwise. I’d also put Weapon Master just below 3’s story modes because while it IS good, the lack of a story built around the characters is a bit of a let down. My personal favorite is actually Weapon Master from Soul Blade even with its brutal gameplay because that one I feel best captured the adventuring martial arts movie vibe that defines Soul imo, though Libra of Soul in 6 does well for that too.
I love Soul Calibur VI's Siegfried, Amy and Raphael stories. It's basically their canon story, but told somewhere outside of character profiles. The rest is, ehh, alright. Ivy one is cool i guess. Geralt story mode is insultingly bad. Everything else is alright.
Elysium is honestly a very interesting concept. Like you said, it's essentially the other side of the coin. Soul Edge has Inferno, a being that is described as the manifestation of chaos and destruction, and Soul Calibur has Elysium the physical embodiment of absolute order. Neither is good it's just that Soul Edge is more upfront about. Some endings in SC4, like Cassandra's does foreshadow that there is a villainy to Soulcalibur. This doesn't save Soulcalibur V's story, of course. Patroklos is annoying and the story is too bare bones to justify his existence.
I feel I'm the weird one because I do like the Wii Soul Calibur game, despite it's flaws, though I admit I haven't fully played every entry. Still, this was pretty interesting.
I think if a future SC game gets a new single player mode, it should mix Edge Master Mode, Weapon Master and Tales of Souls where we take the best aspects of those modes with the Edge Maser Mode and Tales of Souls's character specific stories and endings and the the high replay value of Weapons Master and Tales of souls, just hopefully not as cheep as Edge Master Mode's AI.
You overestimate SE's EMM difficulty The only truly difficult stages are sword art (or whatever that thing that drains meter is called) damage only Everything else is on par with average SC3 difficulty
You know it would be interesting if project soul took apart soul calibur 5 and rebuilt it. It would be called "SoulcaliburV: Reforged" and it would have a story chronicle like Sc6, Bayonetta would be great for a guest character, and it could bring back the soul calibur/soul edge weapons. of course this may never happen but it would be a great concept.
I think it was implied in SC4 in some ways that Soul Calibur is also evil. SC5 was just more explicit about it and made it central to the plot. Also I liked SC6's Story Chronicles more than Libra of Soul. The latter felt a little too slow and tedious especially with all the text, but in the former I loved the voice acting and seeing all this new story content with the characters interacting with each other and getting expanded backstories.

What? Damn, did the series end or that it just isn’t in development?

I love Soul Calibur campaigns
Hence why i play SE-SC3 mostly

SCIII : "Not bad at all..."
SCV : "I was too weak !"

I gotta agree,SC2's Weapon Mastery mode is really fun! It can be really fun to progress through

We need to close the circle with a final boss tier list
I agree and I love you're video and love Soul Calibur to
Oh Hey Hyperchase! I didn’t realize you ran this UA-cam Channel 😂
God I’m dumb.

Have you considered doing a play through of SC2 Weapon Master mode?

The Weapons Master campaign for SC2 is still the best.

Weapon Master over Chronicles of The Sword? That's not right.
Tales of Souls is my favourite story mode of any fighting game ever. Give me that over any lame “cinematic” story mode any day.

I would be down for that 😊. They don’t have to bring back Ezio for it. But would certainly be cool if they were allowed to use Costume Pieces for it.
U should collab w/ GuileWinQuote, Khanage, or Baberuthless ❤

EMM being that low? Poor take
yes the story is bad in SC5 but i Prefer it's Gameplay to SC6's Gameplay. Yes SC5's and SC4's Gameplay are both underrated
