Tbh I don't think Xrd johny execution is that hard and he is dumbed down in a way because he no longer has to manage when to go into level 3 because he always wants to be in level 3. One of the reasons he's so good and consistent in Xrd.

Surprised a Mid Tier video hasn't been made yet. It's probably hard to do, but feels weird not having it out. Mid Tiers are actually my preferred character choice as I don't feel carried as playing a Top Tier would feel like but won't struggle like playing with a Low Tier. Best of both worlds.
The classic, respectable characters that everyone can enjoy and play. I'll pass lol (Zato main, they killed my boy)
I feel like Armor King in Tekken 7 is the face of mid tier characters. He's very fundamental focused, and his tools overall are good. Nothing crazy or particularly better than higher tier characters, but better than low tiers at least. He was pretty consistent between all the patches too. None of the tweaks he got ever necessarily made him better or worse.
He's also been my main ever sine he was dropped in season 2 of 7.

KARNOV'S REVENGE MENTIONED
the tier list for Karnov's has been really interesting as of late, people mostly think that Zazie is top one, but Mizoguchi has gotten a lot of reevaluation in the past few years with his high damage and frankly absurd DP.
mizoguchi is absolutely one of those characters where it never feels like its over for him until he hits 0. every match against him is a horror movie fr
I swear to god Mori was high on crack while making BlazBlue. Like look at the top tier of this game, it's enough to leave a scar for 3 generations just from that floating T-Pose Ribcage
I think with GT Goku it should have been noted how comical the plus frames on spirit bomb are. It wasn’t just standard 4 way mix, he had unironically like 6 seconds of plus frames for some godforsaken reason
Blazblue top tiers are a different breed from other fighting games. Some of the most vile top tiers you will ever see but the idea behind Blazblue top tiers is that in theory they are almost all really difficult to play. Carl is hard, Iza is hard, Arakune is hard, Rachel is very hard etc it’s not like strive where sol is just brain dead and top tier
Izanami is not *that* hard

@@nayd5043 Izayoi is top tier depending on who you ask. But I do find her overall difficulty to be a bit overblown by the community, she’s not brain dead but still no where as hard as people say she is
Funniest part about ARIA is that over the course of KIs lifespan- she isn't even the most nutty top tier. Not by a long shot. We are blessed that KIs competitive lifecycle ended before Eagle became absolutely insane, and got nerfed recently. But oh boy, there are things to be said about him. Or Season 2 TJ. Or season 2 Maya. Or Fulgore in any season. ARIA is strong, sure- but on KI standards, she is relatively "fair" top tier.
Let’s not forget omen, a character who has some of the nuttiest shadow moves (one of which is a one button get out of jail free card) and the unique trait of having *every combo ender giving him extra meter* oh and he has an extra meter bar because why not and he also has a super move in a game without super moves
@@Shuttergun1don't forget that he can also glide and backdash in the air, which gives him an insane high low mix up, aswell as blocking the opponent's meter just by doing a specific and easy to use combo or hitting with his fireballs in instinct.
Friendly reminder that season 2 Kan-Ra with his sand traps, bugs and absolutely stupid damage, just straight up nullified like two thirds of the entire roster until he got nerfed into the ground in season 3
Now I wait for the inevitable sequel when you learn the mechanic exploiting degeneracy that is Kevin Ryan in Mark of the Wolves

As an Izanami player, she’s fun and easily top 3 in the game. She requires a decent amount of practice to get down and is fairly punishing as her defensive kit is fairly poor with no meterless reversals. But she is probably the best character in the game at winning after a single hit
I'm a dirty jenet main in garou and I make absolutely no apologies for the life choices that led me to that

I picked up Jenet after swapping off of Rock because she was cute and I wanted to play someone that wasn't outclassed by literally everyone else.
10/10 instant main in every game she's in (Oh god, please let her be in City of the Wolves; they've GOTTA do it)

GT Goku was nerfed in season 3 and stayed nerfed until the changes for him last year undid his nerfs, except assist A with the beam.

A sneaky strategy you can do with Ray is being able to hit behind a cornered opponent as they wake up with Hard Electric Tackle, its a good finisher and you can keep them guessing if you're doing the hard or light version.
Johnny went from the most fun to the most cracked to actually honest in the span of three games. I think a combination of making coins more advantageous, making lvl3 MF much more potent than its’ XX iterations and combine killer joker divine blade and ensega into zwei to name a few made Johnny much more dangerous in pressure and combos
Also, Izanami is mad fun despite the heat. One of the few top tiers where you need to pilot her well. Knowledge checking w/ ribcage can only get do far
I strongly agree that making Zweihänder as a move was absolutely a big reason as to why Johnny was so good. He has the mobility of Killer Joker, the extremely favorable hitbox of Divine Blade, and the “high execution” knockdown condition of Ensengna (Enkasu).
And then Strive came and he’s actually balanced, which is funny, but I might honestly prefer (I miss coins tho).
@@whisperhawkmoonspecialist9203 one could argue that the movement of zwei was his old divine blade’s in reload but combine both divine blade anti anti air and ensenga 1 hit hkd on top of YRC made his options really strong
Also, i think I’d prefer coins too. Im fine with cards replacing bacchus. His combos are so much more tame in comparison to the crazy air combos

Random historical Johnny info: the coin powerups and Bacchus worked somewhat differently in Guilty Gear X2 and its iterations. They still went up to Level 3, but IIRC Level 2 Mist Finer would always cause wallbounce, and Level 3 turned Mist Finer into a six-hit combo.
Meanwhile, Bacchus in Xrd makes it so the opponent staggers on block. Bacchus in X2 makes it so the opponent _can't_ block.
Another character in KI worth talking about if you're planning to do another one in the future would be Rash.
He's definitely the most hated character that's for sure!
It's worth noting for 236C in your roa section that it's also plus on block for some reason and lets him get a very stable knockdown that gives him orbs pretty much anywhere on screen (236C into dash 2C always lets you tk 3 air orbs) and you can fit it into pretty much any of his routes. Because you always get an orb setup you pretty much build the meter back too and it can loop a stupid amount of times

Izanami is head and shoulders above the rest, as a long time player of BBCF I'll never understand why she wasn't banned for just being soul crushingly unfun to fight.
Yes, the other top tiers like Mai/Es/Rachel/Carl/Litchi are oppressive with foul mixups/crazy oki/amazing neutral but at least they have to learn to do more precise manuvers and actually have to block if you DP some mixups or win neutral (easier said then done for sure). Izanami just does ribcage after burst and is essentially guaranteed to get in after bursting while you can do nothing about it with the vast vast majority of the cast.
You know she's busted when top level Izanami players allow themselves to go into danger state instead of cancelling ribcage because they know you aren't going to be able to hit them during danger state anyway.

I literally came to watch UA-cam videos because Kogasa was beating my ass in the UFO extra stage and I got too frustrated to keep going. Only to be jumpscared by her theme in the Roa section. I know her thing is surprising people but this is just cruel.
Not to mention that GT Goku was the only character post season 1 patch that still had the unscaled double super damage when using spirit bomb into level 1 that character like bardock ssj goku got nerfed for their double level 1 supers

i think the funniest part of Johnny not being great in strive is the fact that it isn't like his buttons or pressure are bad, those are both pretty great, he just can't dash block, which is a much more important part of neutral in strive than it was in xrd.
GT’s spirt bomb also teleported the little rat out of all pressure and had low enough end lag to get out of the corner for just -3 bars
I'm an Izanami main. She's so utterly disgusting on offense, but man her combos are so sick to hit, float cancelling mid combo is something that you really cannot beat in satisfaction
Triad Thunder is a pretty cool weapon, more characters should have moves like it. If you do another part, I heard that Noob-Smoke were pretty cracked in MK Deception, there's also Jin/Steve in Tekken 4 or Kabal in a few MK games.
You should have put Carl Clover here. He has everything and actually is a contender for Top 1. I personally think he's tied with Izanami due to them having an actually even matchup

btw you forgot another thing you can do with johnny that is completely bonkers. if you SOMEHOW like an ABSOLUTE GOD, manage to do a treasure hunt in the middle of mist finer dash, treasure hunt won't JUST give you two coins, it will also LAUNCH THE OPONENT TO THE UPPER LIMIT OF THE STAGE.

can't believe you didn't mention izanami having cracked mobility (the best backdash in the game, really high superjump, can airdash>float>airdash again) so she can actually twerk on lots of characters by just jumping and shooting bits. or her normals (6A anti air that hits all around, low profile 2B that moves forward) being so good. OR that using EA basically gives her a plus on block reversal super, even if it's expensive. that character just does not give a fuck

As someone who played DBFZ day 1 - Present, I can honestly say that nobody got more hate than GT Goku. And that's saying a LOT. I mean, he was forever nicknamed "The Rat" by the community because of how wide spread the hatred was.

Faust arguably was near the top of any tier list in Guilty Gear until Strive happened, where at launch he was effectively one of the worst, if not the worst.
@@farout_tech Yeah I haven’t played ggst in a while but that’s what I remember from being a Faust main, and I heard really good things about him in rev 2
@@GetInVan Yeah, in Rev2 Faust was top tier, somewhere right below the likes of Johnny and Elphelt. Nage is a prominent Faust player (still plays Faust in Strive), and he won plenty of stuff during the Rev2 era, including EVO Japan 2018. The grand finals were him versus Omito (Johnny) lol.
In +R Faust was very good too, but just shy of the top dog slots due to characters like Zappa, Testament and Baiken. Even in the first Guilty Gear (the PS1 game), Faust boasts some ridicilous normals that he can get infinites out of (I know it's a game full of infinites, but still, Faust can hit from ranges other characters can't).
Generally the things that made Strive Faust worse were:
- Item toss becoming almost twice as slow as his Rev2 counterpart (from 23 to 40 frames). To compensate, Strive faust is not "item locked" like he was before, meaning he can repeatedly spam items without having to wait for his existing item(s) to expire (ex: if Rev2 Faust threw meteors, he would have to wait for the meteors to come down before he can throw another item). However, item toss being slower means it's still a more committal option, and so cancelling into it from his pokes like f.S and 2H isn't as safe, and can get Strive Faust punished if opponen is looking out for it.
- Removal of his "pogo" move and stance. This was a very good way for Faust to extend his combos in both corner and midscreen.
- His j.2K isn't a war crime anymore. It was a lv4 move(!!!) in Rev2, making it really hard to contest if blocked, and leading to some really easy combo conversions if it counter hits. Like seriously, j.2K to j.2K to j.2K can be a legitimate blockstring!
- He also lost his ability to cancel the startup of his j.2K with faultless defense (this technique being known as a drill cancel). When done right, this makes Faust stall in the air for a moment, letting him vary up his landing timing and keep opponent guessing. While this wasn't an integral thing to make him work, it did give him access to really fast overheads if performed right.
- His 5D had some 10 frames of strike invincibility in its startup, making it a reversal you can pull out in some situations lol.
The one thing Strive Faust has over his previous incarnations is that the scarecrow teleport PRC is notably more usable in his mixup game now. Previously you'd rarely use it, and instead spend your meter elsewhere.
Those, and maybe some minute changes to his frame data (2P isn't +1 on block anymore...) just made the poor doctor fall hard. He's been getting some help in Strive throughout the patches, so he's in a better place now, but still a shadow of his former top tier self.
I always prefer playing characters that are more weaker. Though a character that doesn't rely entirely upon one move also tends to be a preference.
Johnny was top tier in xrd and hes a bottom tier in strive, but you see, this doesn't matter, because, h e s c o o l.

I know you're just making brief summaries so u can't cover everything a character has but I feel like u didn't understand what u were looking at with zwei yrc. What you showed was transport yrc, not zwei yrc. with zwei yrc the zwei projectile still comes out and you keep your momentum from whichever point of transport you were at, it's not just a movement tool. This is the version people actually complain about, not the transport yrc you showed in the video.
