My Favorites are "Forever And Ever Amen" - "Three Wooden Crosses" - "On The Other Hand." Randy had a massive stroke a few years ago and can now barely walk and talk. Such a talented singet. Also, acted in several movies and TV shows.

He, almost singlehandedly, saved country music from the rock bottom, in the mid 80s. He started the rebuilding, then guys like Clint Black and Garth Brooks jumped in and enhanced the comeback. You've got a lot of listening to get the whole feel of Randy Travis. He, unfortunately, suffered a bad stroke, and was almost to the point of shutting off the life-support system, when he started to recover. As far as understanding what's going on around him, and understanding other people's speech, he has total grasp of. But, he isn't able to speak very well, so he doesn't speak in public very much. His wife is always by his side, to speak for him. Here is a quick, off-top-of-my-head list of songs:
-Forever and Ever, Amen - 1st hit
    -Deeper Than The Holler
    -Diggin' Up Bones
    -1982
    -A Better Class of Losers
    -Three Wooden Crosses - Grammy
    -No Hands
-If I Didn't Have You - My favorite

Great selection! Randy was at the top of the charts pretty much constantly back then. In those days you couldn't go into a bar or pub anywhere in North America without hearing (and dancing to) "Forever and Ever Amen". He even delved into acting and was pretty good at that as well. Thank you!

Randy Travis is one of my favorite "old country style" artists. This one, "One the Other Hand" and "Digging Up Bones" is the trifecta for me. But "Three Wooden Crosses is in there, too! Thanks for reacting to and enjoying a new artist while giving us blast from the past! His songs always tell a story.

"Forever and Ever, Amen" is my all-time favorite of his---wait 'til you hear how low his voice can go, with this one!
Another really great one of his, is "Three Wooden Crosses"---it's such a great story; you gotta pay attention, though, cuz it's a little tricky!

Right at the prime of his career, winning every award etc... He had a stroke. He's spent years trying to heal. The last couple of awards, they brought him. He was able to get a few words out! Sooo sad! Had his whole career & life ahead of him! But the music he did leave us is an absolute treasure!!! We ❤ You Randy!! I pray you get better & bring us more of your fantastic music!! 🙏❤💯

Absolutely LOVE this man! And this song is one of my favorites of his - he did it as a duet with Carrie Underwood a few years ago that's just as good. You'll be listening to hundreds of suggestions, but honestly, you just can't go wrong with any of his music. Three Wooden Crosses is one of the biggies, and I do encourage you to listen to it, but bring hankies! Forever and Ever, Amen is heart-warming. A Better Class of Losers is funny as hell IMO. With this superstar (and George Strait, Garth Brooks, and Brooks and Dunn), you could close your eyes and throw a dart to pick a song and *never* be disappointed. Great reaction, hun, loving your C&W journey! Oh, almost missed my second favorite -- He Walked on Water -- a tribute to his grandfather. Amazing voice and songwriting, the best of both worlds!

I was managing a golf course on base and country music was all they played..I thought it was the most depressing music ever made, until one day Randy Travis song came on the jute box, Forever and Ever, Amen... then the Judds music kinda grabbed me...and so on and so on... I was hooked on country music!! So sad about Randy's stroke, he was one of the best vocalists IMO

Randy Travis is a National Treasure and such a genuinely nice, polite man. He’s had his demons, but haven’t we all?
For his 25th Anniversary CD & TV special he did a song w Don Henley called ‘More Time’. Only a few mths after performing it, he had the debilitating stroke. While it guts me every time, such a beautiful and important song.
And yup… sometimes I chase my husband around the house playing it😉😆
You really should check that one out and then his vocals on Its Just A Matter of Time are RIDICULOUS!!!
    Stay safe & love much💖

During the song, Randy, who no longer performs due to a stroke walks in. There's some great recommendations already, but often overlooked GREATS are 'He Walked On Water' and 'Look Heart, No Hands'. Would LOVE to see what you think of them! And as a native Tennessean, I love watching you love country music! ❤️ 🎶

I love Randy Travis! You've also got to check out when he sang this song with Carrie Underwood! It's on d of my favorite country duets ever! I also love "Forever and Ever Amen"

Listen to him singing “ three wooden crosses” it’s amazing!! He sang this with Carrie Underwood as a duet! He’s had a lot of hits and it’s an amazing gospel singer! Nice Reaction!!

So if you go back and watch to the Forever Country - Artists of Then, Now & Forever again, you will see him sitting at the table, though he does not sing, it was recorded after his stroke and the country music artists wanted him there even if he couldn't sing with them. Great reaction.
