My friend passed away the following year after a battle with cancer... That voicemail has been transferred from phone to phone, I'll never delete it. ...... You still owe me that dance Stan

I started becoming a country fan in 1989. I was home, bored out of my mind, only got three channels on my TV (good old rabbit ears days) and started watching the CMA awards for that year. They did a tribute to Keith and that was all it took.

In 1989, we were on a bike trip and passed through Nashville, all over the area were billboards with Keith’s picture and condolences on his passing.
