Hi Shawn and Mel. I really love your channel, and I think you guys git a good thing going. I am requesting this song by Red Sovine called Daddy's girl. My daughter and I can identify with this song. She also loves this song, and even though she is married now, she plays it all the time.
Josh Turner does a very respectable version of Forever and Ever Amen, even having Randy contribute the final Amen on the song as well as sometimes in live performances.
I hate that he had those health conditions....hes always been one of my favorites, hes amazing I miss him singin but will forever listen to his music ! Hope he continues to get better 🙏
This is my favorite country song of all time. First heard it as a kid and nothing has topped it. Even Carrie Underwood sung it. There's even a duet with both her and Randy Travis.
One of the heart-breaking songs of country. There's a joke that says if you play a country music song backwards you get your wife back, your job back, your house back, and your dog back. For an uplifting song from Randy, try Forever and Ever Amen, and Lee Ann Womack's I Hope You Dance.
I've been a Randy Travis fan for decades. I love everything he's ever done. He actually wrote I Told You So. But you have got to listen to Three Wooden Crosses.
Someone once told me You can hurt the love right out of a person. Sadly I know that to be a fact. This song always reminds me of one of the biggest mistakes I ever made.
Whooo, preach. I loved someone, too much, almost to the point of worship. It was eventually killed, took a couple decades, but it happened. I don’t even feel hate or anger, just indifference. Seems weird to me sometimes, when I remember how I used to feel, but humans can only handle so much before they break, and then it’s done.
When Carrie Underwood was a contestant on American Idol, she did a duet performance of this with Randy. Though Randy didn't look or sound in the best of health at the time. Then she released a solo studio cover of the song, and also released it as a duet with Randy. She did an awesome job singing it.
Carrie didn't perform this with Randy when she was a contestant. She released it in 2009 as a single from Carnival Ride and her and Randy performed it together on Idol in March of that year. Great song, great cover, and great duet.
@@dannyflemings864 I don't see how. She sung it exactly the same as Randy Travis, while not missing any notes. So how can one say that she butchered it without also saying that Randy Travis butchered it? The only difference is their vocal sound. I still prefer Randy Travis' original version.
Another real pure country singer who flies under the radar. Great voice. Wicked songs. I've have likely almost 20 of his songs on my play list. Listen to Promises Best Intentions. Unbelievable songs. Tear jerks. But that's what I love. One out of every 100 songs today tell a story like the old school singers. These pop country boys should listen to theres real country songs.
One of his you need to listen too is Three Wooden Crosses, very deep and you need to listen carefully in order to get the gist of the song. Very powerful.
This is the song that got me into country music. A friend bought me the album because i was living this song at the time. Another good song by Randy is Three Wooden Crosses.
Randy is one of my all time favorites. His voice was made for country music. The first song of his I ever heard was Send My Body. Incredible song that hooked me immediately
Whispering Bill Anderson had a birthday yesterday, he co-wrote one of the saddest songs of all time. Whiskey Lullaby sung by Brad Paisley and Allison Kraus. Gotta watch the video. You’ll cry for sure.
The timbre of his rich baritone voice is unparalleled. My favorite Randy Travis songs are Reasons I Cheat; Promises; Take Another Swing At Me; This is Me; Look Heart, No Hands; Spirit of a Boy, Wisdom of a Man; That’s Where I Draw the Line; I Told You So; The Box; He Walked On Water; Three Wooden Crosses; Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart; It’s Just a Matter of Time; On the Other Hand; and Forever and Ever Amen.
I can't think of one Randy Travis song I wouldn't call great, great, great! For a real treat, check out his duet version of this song with Carrie Underwood. Thank you for your video reactions. You two are great!
Randy Travis one of the best voices ever in country music rest in peace Randy Travis. Another good song about pretty much the same thing Randy singing about here is George Jones The Grand Tour give it a listen
This song came out when I had to serve a remote tour in Korea for the Air Force. Spent many nights at the NCO club feeding the Juke box quarters so I could cry in my beer. Thank God she waited for me to return. God I love that woman.
You can't go wrong with a Randy Travis song. For inspiration check out Three Wooden Crosses. Another great one is Mining for Coal. One of the lines in the song is: When I found you I lost all control. It's like finding a diamond when you are mining for coal. You guys are awesome! Love your channel
I love you all’s appreciation of Country Music! I grew 8:50 up loving it! But mostly because of the emotion in it! But as I’m older; I understand the wording❤
Three Wooden Crosses is another beautiful song from Randy Travis. Plus I believe y’all would like My Little Rat by Red Sovine. It’s a funny song I believe y’all would enjoy it. I found y’all’s channel not long ago and I can’t go to sleep without watching a few videos of y’all. Love y’all and keep safe. Just by looking at y’all I believe your love will last forever. Fight to keep it alive. 🥰🥰🥰
Shawn and Mel , now you found the Holy Grail of country music George Jones and Randy Travis . You've got to do a reaction video to Randy Travis are we in trouble now.
The 70s & 80s were starting to see a pop in your country type of sound. Randy Travis & George Strait brought country back to its roots. Now, country is experiencing a rap in your country sound. We need to get back to the roots again!
Shawn and Mel, another good song of Randy's is called "On The Other Hand".

I watched that also and I listen to her version and I wish she hadn't done it because in my opinion she butchered it

Tear jerks. But that's what I love. One out of every 100 songs today tell a story like the old school singers. These pop country boys should listen to theres real country songs.
