Randy Travis is the GOAT love him. He’s got some great songs “diggin up bones” “he walked on water” “deeper than the holler” “forever and ever amen” he also does a lot of gospel. precious memories, will the circle be unbroken.
You got it spot on! One of the few reactors to actually understand the story. It’s such a great song. Unfortunately Randy Travis suffered a stroke awhile ago and no longer sings. I also love his song Forever and Ever Amen.
Check out his song “Where that Came From”. He “recorded” it earlier this year. They used AI and some vocal donation from James Dupre to make the recording. They’re looking at making some more music. It was interesting hearing how they did it. His wife was thrilled to hear his voice singing a new song. They invited other artists and friends in to hear it and they were blown away. This is one of those times that AI is great. This song reminds me of the early Randy Travis back when he did “Forever and Ever Amen” and “Deeper than the Holler”.
This song tells us that NO ONE is too far from the touch of God. No matter how far you stray from Him He can still restore you and return you to His fold.
I don't often leave a comment, but Randy Travis has awesome songs. One I have on my daily play list is "I Thought He Walked On Water." That's the kind of grandpa everyone should have. ;-) Welcome to country music. ;-)
If you really think about it the best part of it wanting best song for that year a lot of times even in the country music genre it’s hard to get anything Christian face to get number one with Randy be a Christian on this hit number one as a Christian was very excited and proudthat he was able to share this song with so many and is continuing to share this with many
One of the things I truly love is people who have discounted country music all their life until they encounter it due to a reaction channel. I really can't understand a true inability to appreciate country when it's given an honest chance. "Three chords and the truth".
Thank you for doing this song.More importantly, thank you for getting it and explaining it perfectly.Every reaction to this one you sit there with baited breath praying that the reactor will understand it.I think you swallowed the county hook on this one.The twang is just a cherry on top.
I was born and raised on country music by my Pop-Pop.. back in the day with Johnny, George, Charley, Loretta, Dolly, list goes on.. I was made fun of in HS because I had moved to a more city area... then Garth came out.. all of a sudden all my friends loved country.. My thing is.. I love all music, I'm Hair Band era..but also love Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Eagles, Zeppelin, Aerosmith.. But country music is in my blood.. it's great music.
Craig Morgan The Father, My Son and The Holy Ghost will get you choked up. He wrote it about his 19 year old son who tragically passed. One of the most touching songs I've ever heard.
I love to watch your reactions to all the music, especially the older tracks. I am 76 years, most of these artists were just starting out when I was a teenager. Your reactions brings back great memories. Thank you!
You are the first reactor to get the story from the first listen. This is one of Randy's best songs. The other one for me is "Forever and Ever Amen." Please check it out.
You nailed it. You have no idea how many people totally miss it. One thing about country music is that it definitely can be background noise but when you take the time to listen there are great stories
I’ve never had a song touch me the way this song does! It’s few and far between to find reactors that actually grasp the meaning and concept of the song. It’s great to see a genuine reaction!
Good for you! You catch the MAIN POINT! Reactors and most people are only interested in Randy Travis, his voice, the band, etc. and MISS the point of the song that we all leave this life and the ONLY thing that counts is if we have believed in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior thereby achieving ETERNAL LIFE instead of ETERNAL DEATH!
I also want to add that Warrant had a really good rock in’ /country story song called uncle toms cabin. Also look into a great country song by Blake Shelton called ol’ red it is an amazingly awesome story telling twist and turn song.
Randy was also an actor. He had strokes and can barely speak now. He has many great songs. He did duets with some of the top female performers. I Told You So He Walked on Water Forever and Ever Amen On The Other Hand
This is a great Christian country song with a great message! Check out also “Forever and Ever, Amen” and “Deeper Than the Holler,” both by Randy, and “Your Man,” “Will You Go With Me,” and “Long Black Train” by Randy’s good friend and country superstar Josh Turner. You won’t be disappointed!
🇬🇧 Country Music was my mum's favourite genre. She had Dementia, & for the last 2/3 years of her life she couldn't recognise her own kids! But she still new ALL the words to her favourite Country songs, and would sing along happily. This song was lovely btw, Randy had an amazing voice. 🎼🎶
I lost my mom the same way. I bought her a boom box and a bunch of big band CDs to listen to when she could no longer recognize the people in her life who loved her. She was in her own little world listening to the music of her youth, she was born in 1923 and died in 2010. May both our mothers rest in peace.
So sorry that you all had to go through that but I’m sure they are in the arms of Jesus!! Have a blessed night! Music is so powerful and thanks for sharing! ❤️
Believe - Brooks and Dunn Concrete Angel - Martina McBride Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning - Alan Jackson Waitin' On a Woman - Brad Paisley Okay, there are sooo many, but I'll quit now.
Wow! Steven, you got it perfectly! You would be surprised at how many reactors don’t get it at all. They like to over-analyze and try to figure in the bus driver and the truck driver! The song tells you clearly only those 4 people on the bus are important to the story. It’s the greatest song! Glad you loved it! I knew you would. Not Country, but another great song is James Blunt’s “The Girl That Never Was”. It’s a true story. Please do the official video with it.
Thank you for getting it!! I don't understand how people don't get it straight off. Most people just don't listen to the words. He said it straight out! 🤦♀️
For another voice which may surprise check out Josh Turner. "Why Don't We Just Dance" is a lighthearted option. Or for something heartfelt "Would You Go With Me".
It is an awrsome story of redemption for all of us sinners. And if you are human and draw breath, you are a sinner. There is redemption, forgiveness, salvation, and life in the Gospel. God Bless 🥰
My husband was a country music fan, and I never paid attention to it and maybe with time (decades) I gained a new appreciation to songs with heartfelt storytelling with no added distractions. My husband preferred the Merle Haggard era, and I gifted him tickets to see him and Tammy Wynette in concert here in L.A. I did work in those days and after Tammy Wynette finished her part of the concert, I slept through Merle Haggard. I did wake up in time for the Okie from Muskogee song, one I knew before. I started listening and enjoying these country songs since I started watching the You Tube reactions. I grew up back in the 60-70's eras and returned to listening to those oldies but goodies. What memories that come back to me and how those who were born 30-40 years after me are enjoying these songs too. I only wished, I got to spend time listening and sharing these country songs with my husband before he died (2020 Covid). I heard this song, Three Wooden Crosses many times now, from different reaction sites (and I do not know how many times I seen your reaction to this song), since I do prefer to repeat sites that the host has a surprised, positive, amazed and/or funny reaction. I still get chills and spiritual comfort with this song.
Randy has such a unique voice and I love it. I see others have mentioned forever and ever amen, which is great. Also, check out I Told You So and It’s A Matter of Time. Two of my other favorites by him. You won’t regret it. 😃
So glad you are open with your faith and status of a sinner save by Grace. All true Christians are saved by grace. Being good (although no one is truly good) is the result of Salvation, not a way to be saved. Glad you know that.
Fun trivia about Randy...MANY MANY years ago before he was famous he auditioned for Opryland in Nashville that was a musical amusement park heavy on live shows. The "experts" told him he was too shy, had no stage presence and wouldn't ever make it. He's now in the Country Music Hall of Fame ..."experts" aren't always right.
Amen on this reaction. Randy is one of a kind. Sucks that Randy had a stroke years ago in 2013 that rendered him not able to speak and sing much at all. He’s still a beautiful soul. One of the best.
I love this song ❤❤❤it's so deep and beautiful ❤❤Randy Travis is a legend ❤❤you should check out his beautiful song "I Told You So" Its a tear jerker 😢😢
Country was shifting towards pop. Then Randy appeared on the scene and almost single-handedly steered the genre back to more the more traditional sound.
Im not a big country fan, probably why I've never heard Randy Travis sing. But dang that man has an amazing voice. Might have check out more of his songs.
This song still gives me chills. I'm so proud of you. You got it it perfect including how the "hookers" life was changed by the blood stained Bible and her son is now the preacher with that same blood stained bible. I've noticed you really listen to lyrics. Thanks and keep that country coming.
When I saw the title, I thought I knew where the story would be going. Nope. This threw me for a loop also, Steven. I've heard of Randy before, knew he was a legend but I couldn't tell you anything that I might've heard in the past when I used to dabble into country a little. I'm here for it!!
It was the Preacher who gave his dying breath to the hooker after giving her his bloodstained bible ( stained with his blood ) and then whispers can you see the promise land? Which would change the hooker's life forever in ways she would never expected.

You got it right, what a beautiful story
You got it spot on! One of the few reactors to actually understand the story. It’s such a great song. Unfortunately Randy Travis suffered a stroke awhile ago and no longer sings. I also love his song Forever and Ever Amen.
Another tear-jerker from Randy: " He Walked on Water". It always makes me think of my grandfather.

Agreed 1000% . Well said. I’ve seen dozens of reactions to this and only a few get it. Dude earned a sub from me on this one. Great job, hoss!!
@bidwell13 Randy's new AI song is phenomenal!
I just seen him at a concert in Montgomery Alabama!
So very touching!
@@ritamead6318 I love how the music video is a lot of him enjoying listening to it along with friends and family.
One of the few reactors to actually pay enough attention to get it!
Glad you enjoyed it!! 😁
This song tells us that NO ONE is too far from the touch of God. No matter how far you stray from Him He can still restore you and return you to His fold.
Amen! 🙌🏻
I’ve actually never heard this before. I’m choking back the tears. God is all over this song.
Me too! tears flowing.

My guitar player actually played for Randy Travis in the early days. Diggin' Up Bones. Forever and Ever Amen
Lol, except in concert it was "digging up Jones"
Oh, yes! Digging up bones another great one along with Better Class of Losers, and On the Other Hand ❤️❤️❤️
I am SO glad that you get it. None of the other reactors did. Yes, that act of faith by the preacher changed many lives. God bless.
🙏🏻
Forever & Forever Amen!

Loved Randys voice ever since the 80s!!
I saw Randy in concert several times. Sadly he can no longer sing due to a stroke. But he will forever be a favorite of mine.
Music does not need to be complex to be great This is a great one
💯
Loved his voice and songs: Randy was one of the few new country artists who understood the traditions of country music and kept that flame alive.
Craig Morgan The Father, My Son and The Holy Ghost will get you choked up. He wrote it about his 19 year old son who tragically passed. One of the most touching songs I've ever heard.
Awesome song! I think the video that was LIVE at the Opry is better than the official video.
The only reaction I've seen that got it spot on
I love to watch your reactions to all the music, especially the older tracks. I am 76 years, most of these artists were just starting out when I was a teenager. Your reactions brings back great memories. Thank you!
Really appreciate that! 🙏🏻
Two another classic songs from Randy Travis is "Forever and Forever Amen " and He Walked On Water ," you won't be disappointed on either.
My favorite songs also!
One of the best songs of the new millennium!
Update: This is possibly one of the best reactions I’ve watched so far, from ANY reactors
Wow!! That really made my day and thanks so much for the kind words! ❤️
You are the first reactor to get the story from the first listen. This is one of Randy's best songs. The other one for me is "Forever and Ever Amen." Please check it out.
Beautiful song, but I always wondered about the bus driver.
Great insight! I didn’t think of that perspective! 🤔
God does work in mysterious ways.
💯
Bingo! Most people miss it
I do not understand why they miss it though.

You absolutely NAILED the meaning of this awesome song! You are a rare gem among reactors! 👍

Yep. You're spot on. Amazing lyrics. Amazing story. And, of course, Randy Travis' amazing delivery.
Randy, almost single handedly, saved Country Music, in the mid 80s.
Dwight Yoakum and Steve were essential to that. Alan Jackson too
He brought country to the pop charts.
This song still tears at my heart. Randy was a great artist.
What an amazing voice Randy Travis had.
💯
You got it.. the preacher left the faith of salvation with the bible to the girl.. and her son was telling the story in church.
Many reactors don't get it till told. You did well. This is a great song.
Such a great tune! ❤️
I love country music! I’m an 80’s heavy metal rocker at heart but the story telling of country music gets me every time.
I also want to add that Warrant had a really good rock in’ /country story song called uncle toms cabin. Also look into a great country song by Blake Shelton called ol’ red it is an amazingly awesome story telling twist and turn song.
You should react to “Long Black Train” by Josh Turner his voice is similar to Randy’s
Randy was also an actor. He had strokes and can barely speak now. He has many great songs. He did duets with some of the top female performers.
I Told You So
He Walked on Water
Forever and Ever Amen
On The Other Hand

I have seen a lot of reactors watch this video and most of them has cried when they realize what happened.
You nailed it!! He has amazing story telling music, many hits
Sadly Mr. Randy Travis had a stroke and can't sing anymore. But Thank God we can still hear his voice.
This is why I love younger generations reacting to older music. It keeps great music alive.
