I'm 53 years old. I just completed the Past Authering segment. After weeks of brutal honest self analysis, the painful conclusion was summed up in the very last sentence I wrote; It's not them, it's me.
The Rich Rose ... You probably haven't been looking hard enough. Just bc it's expensive doesn't mean it's a scam. Self development coaches (supposedly) invest a lot of time into money in researching and developing these programs. They need to make that investment back somehow which is why it ends up costing thousands of dollars for these programs. I think JP just cares about humanity enough to make it cheap.
and it is a pretty easy to make program. i have it myself and yeas to test all the questions to see if they are useful takes some time and money but it certaintly isn't that hard to make with some good people helping
Some self-help programs do have some merit and results, if people understand how to use them to their own improvement and how to recognize and deal with past issues of their life that hold them back. There might be a balance between legit/scam on those. However, some people think paying these self-help programs are like purchasing a immediate fix, when they don't really believe the solution will have to come from within (with some external guidance). I don't blame them, changing, many times, to an almost completely new person, its not easy and its almost like a jump of faith (in yourself).
Jordan Peterson isn't a smarmy slick salesman full of smiles, fake warmth and joviality, hawking some cheap, pop psychology video. He's a serious, reserved, no nonsense doctor of psychology that is passionate about effective ideas. Hence the awkward video presentation.
@@lazyfoxplays8503 Oh my, you're the arm chair psychologist. People can have a traumatic experience in their childhoods, barely remember it and it would shape their personality and viewpoints well into their adulthood without their knowledge. What a cheap and low blow you throw without knowing what little you know. Try reading more.
Dr. Peterson's dry verbal delivery in this video is simply Golden 😂 not to mention the hilarious (again, dry) editing of the images and snip-its. Legendary, I say. 🤣
"These programs will help. Alot" when your can simply say it like that, without persuasive appeals to human emotion, and without fear of being not persuasive, you know it's the truth. Enough said.
I honestly feel like this should be a course in high school. I know I would have benefited immensely and possibly not made the mistakes I made thus far. Im so grateful for his lectures and this self-authoring seems great. Just started today and highly recommend it.
+Craig, goes without saying. Then again,, saying it tends to make it sound like those are majority rather than outliers. I don't believe that's the case. Most parents - if not chemically impaired and/or mentally ill - want to do best by their children. Sadly, many are ill-equipped in a world where all the rules have been obliterated.
All the teachers today, would call it "white supremacy", and make sure it couldn't be seen by anyone. Our world is extremely upside down, at the moment (July 2021). demokkkrats suck.
I heard Dr. Peterson interviewed a couple of times recently on the Tom Woods Show and I was quite impressed. Dr. Peterson sounds like a kind, compassionate man who cares about his work.
A few months ago I actually structured my past according to the historical epochs that we have lived through, namely: Pre-History (age 0-4), Classical Antiquity (age 5-8), Dark Ages (age 9-15), The Renaissance (age 16-19), The Enlightenment (age 20-24), and Post-Modernity (age 25-32). Each of these epochs had/have their own overriding narrative structure/worldview and mode of being associated with them. Living life as a Christian fundamentalist is not the same as living life as a materialistic reductionist which is not the same as living life as methodological pluralist and etc.
"There's no sense in slouching around miserably when you could aim for what you SHOULD HAVE" man I'm so happy I heard about this program in a podcast I watched yesterday. I feel like I've come a good way on my own, but I know there's much more I can unlock and hopefully I can get over my current slump. I'm mostly seen as a successful person by my family or childhood friends. Though I cry to myself sometimes when I think of where I thought I'd be when I decided to actively start sacrificing for my dreams. My goals for myself were much higher than this when I was 16. somewhere in my early 20s I fell into a space where I became comfortable
grateful to have found you, Jordan. it is amazing to live in a time where i can hear your message without having to go to a university in Toronto. the wisdom you share so freely continues to help me immensely, thank you.
Same for me in 2022, I thought lock down year here in the lower 48 was difficult however, not giving up. In fact it's exciting to see what comes next one day at a time🙏
After listening to hours of your awesome lectures and interviews, I found myself naturally descending into the underworld, unconsciously pin-pointing my personalities problems and finding the causes, in the past, in my education, my relationship to my parents ... It truly brings great relief to be able to (without wining) realize where it all started, and to know that you can chop down the dragon into manageable pieces, My advice, for those in the same situation, is to remain calm, and, tho it looks like you are spiraling down into negative emotions, it is not permanent! That's what the monster looks like, if you are willing to look at it, before you hack at it. Peace and Respect!
my concern with buying this programme is that my current depressive/anxious mindset might (will) dictate my past/present/future experiences. So will not provide an accurate assessment but a negatively biased one and therefore not very helpful. What is your experience?
@@anshul5563 also people probably think that people care more about THEIR personal lives than people actually do. Who would really care to go out of their way to steal this information. But that's also a maybe
I have myself noticed the significance complexes plays in my mental abilities to learn and process information. My ego had a very negative impact on my learning until I dealt with it. It was acting as a filter - rejecting or accepting information based if it fitted my sense of self image - taking up valuable capacities for analysing, thinking, organising and learning new information.
Especially visible when discussing politics. And the ability to deal with criticism. I am currently on a job training program. I will try this out for myself and see if it might be valuable for me and the other people at the program.
Aslam o Alikum Dear Dr. Jordan B. Peterson. I am from Pakistan and listing to you for more than 3 months now and making notes of your videos. I was having a hard time about deciding what to do in life or what to do with life. You helped me a lot in clearing my thoughts. You are a blessed soul and a great fellow human being. May Allah increas your knowledge and bless you more. Please also a have a converstion on Islam with Sheikh Abdul Hakim Murad of Cambridge Muslim college and Sheikh Hamza Yousaf of Zytuna college California like you had with Muhammad Hijab. Thanks.
I bought his course about a month ago, I'm from Pakistan and most of the time, I feel as if I was born in the wrong country. I really want to meet him one day and find a way to stay close to him. I have always imagined that the day I become rich and build my own house, I'll build his statue along with a few others I look up to! He is one of the few honourable people I have come across in life!
I started this in 2021 and completed the entire suite this evening.. Past, Present, and Future. I will continue to monitor and modify my goals moving forward. It took me two years to complete past-authoring.. I overcame great avoidance and procrastination. Thank you Dr. Peterson-- Roger
I am 58 years old and still feel lost, having never found my way. This program was designed for university students. Have you had many older people use it and have they found it as useful as the younger people?
Thanks for the quick reply professor. I am going through your lectures and finding them very stimulating. I like the way you are trying to bring together multiple levels of understanding. Our present intellectual culture suffers from the tyranny of the small with specialists sticking to their own field, which leaves me unsatisfied. The only other person I am aware of that is attempting this is a guy named Ken Wilber but his system seems to have become too programmatic and ossified in my opinion.
+ Peter Phillips Please relate your experience if you've tried any of the self authoring suite. I'm even older than you and would be interested to get your feedback.
jonesr227 I've purchased the suite and I'm in the process of doing the past authoring suite. It is hard, but you realize a lot about yourself while using this program. It drains you, but you learn a great deal about yourself.
This actually seems like something I should really invest my time in, even if it were a sham (which I do not even remotely believe, to be clear). I have a serious lack of ambition, direction and motivation and being able to isolate my goals, to identify what I really want, is something I definitely need, even to take just a moment to reflect on myself. I'll be keeping this in mind for the future.
Bravo Jordan Peterson. I started a year ago dropped it and came back because I was repeating the old patterns of behavior and thoughts. Thank God I have a grip on my past present and future now. You are a great teacher Jordan! I just spent 4 focused harrowing days and am now finishing my virtue signaling section 🤣😊😇❤️
@@EPlTHANYThe program is actually really good. The design and programming not so much haha. I haven't been coding for that long and could probably write a better program myself after 1 year of coding. Anyways, still waaaay better than most practical courses. Worth 1000% its value
I purchased this in the Christmas season and haven't finished it yet... though I am working on it. It's painful, but I'm learning about myself more as I go. I'm by myself now, and I'm focused on finishing, painful though it may be.
I doubt myself, I don't believe in myself, I don't understand myself; there is no celerity in my life and things just seem to happen and I'm there to observe it. Today I start this program, wish me luck. I hope if someone asks me how I'm doing in a few months I can be in a better place. I looked up to Jordan Peterson like a father figure I've never had, and hes helped me imminently but this last push is now up to me.
I just started the self authering program. The tone is so relaxing and easy to follow. It makes me feel like I am sitting with Dr. Peterson and that I am in good hands. 4 days later: I started with the Past Authering section. It's taking me on a journey deeper and more powerful than I had anticipated. It is so far, mind blowing.
Dr. Jordan Peterson continues to change the world for the better. If his silly backward-thinking government was wise they would promote him wholeheartedly as a cultural icon and embraced him as one of their ‘local boys done good.’ But, alas, narcissism is rampant in his, and most, governments where humility and the celebration of others brilliance is not common; to their shame. Long live Dr. Peterson.
I've come across Dr. Peterson about 3 ou 4 years ago, through my husband and with the 12 Rules for life book. For the first moment I liked to hear what Dr. Peterson said!!!! Ic ompletely agree with your vision of Life!!!! I thought I would love so much to have a conversation with you, Dr Peterson... You are going to be here, in Portugal, in Porto, 2 hours from the place where I live! But, unfortunately, I won't be able to attend...I won't be in Portugal... About Selfauthoring, I've only come across it now! And it seems it has already some years! 😊 Ibought it and I'm doing it!!!! I hope it can help me understand myself better!!!! I believe there are so many things we still don't know about oursekves! Thank you, Dr. Peterson! ❤
It would be amazing if colleges bought this program so each student could have access to this. I am grateful I have the money to be able to purchase this! Going to start this ASAP! 🤓
Since this has been posted on UA-cam to everyone from all walks of life, I'll add one caveat. This can be not only dangerous but ultimately harmful if you are stuck in a highly abusive environment with no access to emotional support, whether or not anyone else reads your writings. It's best to undertake this once you are in a less abusive environment or have at least some genuine emotional support.
Can't say I agree with you, at least when you understand that there's a reason that someone is in such a situation. This very likely could be the thing that helps them see things clearly and formulate a plan to get out of that situation. If someone is going to implement a plan to address their toxic situation right away, then waiting till after seems ok; but they haven't done anything about it up until this point, what makes you think they would do it without going over their situation with a fine tooth comb and coming up with possible ways to address their situation? It seems that that is the most logical first step but if thinking too far ahead into the future and delving too much in their past is a bit overwhelming for them at the moment, I would say that it makes sense to just focus on getting out of that toxic environment.
Your quest to help people is outstanding. You just brought best value proposition anyone ever presented to me. Holistic. Easily digestible yet not prosaic. Hopeful. Even though it specifically asks me to acknowledge things can and will go bad. Wise. Derived from facts and experiences, connected to parabolic stories and archetypes rooted in our traditions. It's honest approach is exactly what I was looking for.
Sir, after watching several of your lectures, I find that this video doesn't have the proper tone of voice. The correct tone of voice for this video would be: "Buy the damn program!!! IT WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER!!!!"
Perfect! THAT's what I wanted to hear! He needs to dump the prof marketing advice and simply let himself go off about how we need to clean our room or go lift as much responsibility as we can possibly carry or take yourself seriously! He is his own best marketing campaign. :-)
Ok, here I am, a non english fluent writer or talker, never was in an english class, to learn this language. I'm learned from UA-cam, by watching videos like that. I promise, I do not use google translate or any other translation tool. My native language is german and croatian. Well, i'll see where the writing will lead me. I hope, I can unserstand all the questions and finish the program. Thanks to Mr. Peterson, to do, what he does for all of the lost souls out there. Peace for all and good luck.
Lol, I might be shouting into the void here, but let me inform people like me who stumble onto this video that the programs are *NOT* free. They are, indeed, for everyone but they cost some money. Not to say "don't be fooled" or "don't buy them", but I thought these were simple, free programs on the website. They're actually a bit more complicated, but from what I have read, they are efficient and useful all the same. Cheers.
i just bought the program. i did a similar one for a college navigation class that i didnt even want to take. we used the book titled "on course" ... it was life changing. the author was inspired by and implemented studies and a program from harvard university and the whole thing was very reassuring, it made me realize that i wasnt crazy as for the root cause of everything in my life, behaviors, choices.. but the approach is the one that really felt empowering.. and i was left with wanting more so i bought yours.
I am currently working through the past authoring program. Tough as Fuck. I can only image what the benefits will be! Thank you Dr. Peterson for providing objective and factual resources. I hope that people who question your motivations can pause to reflect on the content you have given the world.
In the understandyourself program they say that if you should "Make sure that you are not tired, or unhappy, or depressed, or hungry, or likely to be disturbed while you answer the questions, and that you are giving yourself enough time to consider your answers carefully" This probably applies to a certain degree for this one too.
I don't see the reason why I should write about these things on a website and let them be stored. Is my stuff going to be used for statistics? A printable PDF version could be a useful alternative I think.
The program is kind of interactive. Every section has a word limit, and some sections are also only avaliable if you completed the previous ones. Often, you have to give a certain concept a title, and then write on multiple instances about a different aspect of it, instances that are split by other writing promts of different topics to distract you. If you don't trust the people who made this to store your stuff securely, you shouldn't trust them that their program works anway.
Trusting the information will ALWAYS be held securely has nothing to do with the competence of the programs authors. Been using services with Carphone Warehouse lately? Experian, Uber, even GP surgeries in the UK and Greenwich University have all had user information breaches.
If you own a computer or a cell phone all your info and secrets are already out there. It's interactive so at best it would have to be a separate downloadable software program. Which in turn opens the door to people pirating the program.
I'm probably going to have to wait for another couple of years before having the chance to buy the suite or any of the programs but I'm definitely going to use the information that Dr. Peterson shared around about this program to complete the maximum I can in my own way. Thank you a lot for the wisdom. You genuinely feel like a father to me.
I purchased the future authoring program and they were running a 2 for 1 deal so have a free code. It’s yours if you still want. Just reply to let me know. ✌🏻
@@bjjnewb2134 OMG!!! I'll be so grateful for that!!! If you're sure about that you can DM me on IG @intentional2gether or on Facebook at Louna Kiorie I'm so thankful for your offer 😭😭😭
Its astonishing the difference between your conversational and scripted speech. This has that wonderful fatherly feel of a 1960's instructional film (look up 'General Boy' from some of DEVO's early films) while your lectures are so full of passion as to almost fall into the realm of motivational. I'll admit to being surprised watching your older CBC pieces but I figured your delivery must have grown over time. It's nice to see a return to form. Just don't lose the passion!
I just completed a full question set for a single Fault in that program, and I have gained WAY more than I put into it. Started with the Past Authoring, which I would not recommend. I was kind of aimless doing that (a fault lol) and probably took longer than necessary. Also, according to the guidance it was not the right place to start. I don't have any aching, painful memories since I have gone through my past to a degree. But more importantly I didn't have a GOAL so the authoring effort of my past was directionless. For example if I were to write an autobiography - should I write EVERYTHING that happened to me? How do I select what gets printed? I'd need a theme. That's a reason I recommend to anyone else that Present Authoring is a good place to start. But main take away is HOLY COW I not only feel pretty damn good - tackled my top priority fault just now - but I have a clear sense of what to do going forward. And it's not going to be a challenge in this case.
I'm working on the self-authoring program right now. I also just shared a link to the website on a women's mental health support group on Facebook that I am part of. I totally recommend doing this.
I just purchased the 2 for 1 self-authoring suite and I want to give the additional suite to a friend. Is there any way to make the username and password for my friend unknown to me? In the email I received it says the usernames and passwords given cannot be changed. Is my friend to just trust that I don't log into her account?
It's been changed since your post. In case anyone reads this: now it just gives you a voucher code to email to your friend. Then they use that voucher to set up their own account. So there is no way for anyone else to know what name and password they set up for themself.
I love dr. Peterson an am a fan of his work, but it's so rare to see a smile on his face that truly reflects the passion he has for the serious subjects of his work. Always so serious 😸 Nevertheless, his work has been a great help, I thank him sincerely!
If i purchase the Self Authoring Suite, is it necessary to write in english? My native language is german and it is far more fluent than a foreign language i only learned in school, so i was wondering if i could write in german instead.
I started watching this while listening to Colouring of Pidgeons by The Knife and it was right on so many levels. I started the video about one minute and fifteen seconds into the song.
Howdy Professor Jordan Peterson, been a huge fan of over the last couple of months since discovering your work this year. From Freedomain Radio to Joe Rogan's show, I'm hugely grateful for the work you do. I'm thrilled to take self authoring for a spin. Thank you for making this and I will absolutely do my best to write badly, quickly and frequently. :) Most obliged sir. Also looking forward to your next project on reducing the corrupted ivory towers of academia. Again, thank you for uplifting humanity out of the collectivist darkness.
@@kungfoochicken08 dude he has always spoken well since teaching, this is just him reading a script for make sure he gets to the point of the program. sheesh
So true! We are looking for an answer in our outside world, trying and consuming ourselves for answers about it, but...what about our inner world? "Simple" questions of who are we? What is our purpose here and now? These...we don't know! The Quest should be look inside you! Try to become a better you, everyday! If we, each one of us, know eacher onther better, we would understand and make this workd much better, too!
Hey, Can somebody provide the references to the papers, he cites to for the numbers he uses? I would be like to read more literature on this. (I have found the paper on the implication of future authoring in the case of Erasmus: 'A scalable goal-setting intervention closes both the gender and ethnic minority achievement gap.' published in Palgrave Communications. 1: 15014 (2015).) Is there more literature? What a great channel!
"once you've completed each program you'll be receiving an organised comprehensive email laying out the work that you have done"... what does "laying out the work" mean ? Where does all that stuff we write go ? who looks at it ? is it shared with anyone ? sounds to me like an experiment on real people in a way. I'm skeptical but interested but still skeptical.
I have been writing since high school. I have journals since I was 16 where I just write my thoughts down on paper. I'm almost 40 and I still write. Through the years, I write goals down and even though I may not attain them spot on, I get really close. For me writing is therapeutic and has always been. When I travel, I pack a journal to express my thoughts, the train ride to Barcelona, my time in Greece. It's like my personal friend. I'm really intrigued by your self authoring program. Can I respond to the prompts by writing in my own store bought journal?
You can always use a bogus email and name. You have to type something into the program, it won't let you progress unless your answers are within a certain word limit.
I guess I have been inadvertently doing this several times. my life has been crisis after crisis but I love to write and so when I am in a crisis I usually fling to my keyboard and write it all out and getting it on paper really clears my head and shortens the crisis.
you never have a clue when you start exploring and writing about a new topic. the idea is to have a clue afterwards. start step by step and give it time. sleep really helps, you'll have the best ideas when you are not focusing on it. pretty soon you won't know where to stop. at least that's my experience. it really is just like they say: you don't know what you know unless you say it out loud or write it down. expressing your opinion will form your opinion. you have to be able to explain something to others to really understand it. and whenever you explain it, you'll learn something too. i guess that's why research and lecturing goes hand in hand at university.
I agree. People say that talking about issues with others helps clear them up. I think writing can do the same, even if no one else reads it. Putting youe ideas/ experience down helps you sort shit out.
After the program you are promised to become a real you so it doesn't seem to be scary to let NSA to know anything about your past self. And if you are afraid it would not work, it is still worth giving a shot for the immense reward. What do you really loose? PS if you know how to use a tor browser and VPN you won'r be scared ever again in internet ;-) And if you are not American, you don't even need to. And in the end it is better to be a trully free yourself even from outside persecuted by system than being a slave of own past, traumas and ignorance, persecuted by yourself all the time without an exit way. In this bad state you don't really care about external misery, your internal is much worse. What is external doesn't affect your person if you not let it affect you but if you are not in sync with yourself you are incapable resisting the external misery. It is not easy to convince yourself to not give a shit about external and calm internal. Realisation that you can any time change your thinking and that you create from nothing, bring things from nothingness even sense of life is hard. People in misury loose their imagination and ability to realise their imaginery can be a rational goal to realise in future. You might even need many years to get it. Or you might wake up one random day enlightened. You might work your way into this state of thought, letting the idea root in you step by step, observing yourself testing the idea out without any expectations. The hardest thing is to accept your loss. When you bought high and the price falls down and you wait and wait for a miracle without taking the loss, growing loss with every next day instead of staying STOP and starting again beyond bad memory. You think that not accepting the loss will save you from the bad memory, won't let it materialise. But it is already there. It eats you alive. You just fool yourself. You know the right way, you just don't accept it yet, you add virtual pain into it, overvalue the needed pain. But the pain must be taken. And only them you can disattach from it, overcome it, tame it and make it your lesson, knowledge and memento in your future growth. Way out is in accepting the reality of loss. If you hear "just do it" and your brain in torn internally between the thrive feeling of the idea outcome and the fear of being unable, taking risk, leaving comfort state of dead, empty person you have only 1 minutes to find crazyness in yourself. You have 60 seconds to grab that last crazy hope and forget rationality. You have endless last hopes - but if you not grab it fast now, you make yourself weaker to grab it next time. You have no more time. The loss grows each time and you fall lowwer in yourself. But when you finally grab it once, creating your internal crazyness from nothing - throu pain or anger or faith or just an unexpected damn f*ck it all moment. What a light awaits there. I still don't accept me being worth of the light. But it is mine and it is yours and nbody can take it from you - light in the void and the path of greatness. Then you will realise what were you born for and your refinement through suffering will start, getting free throu accepting truth as it is. Refinement through suffering. Realisation that all your past pain was refining you. Being born anew ennobled, better. Even if you start from the very bottom. At the bottom you know it is he bottom, at the bottom accepting the loss is the worst but the capital you free there can buy your future greatness with cheapest price. And it will grow like a great revolutionary stock or gold and bitcoin in crisis. You are the most greately undervalued stock out there. You work your way throu crisis to thrive in the next prosperity boom more than anything else. If you read Nietzsche you will understand. This is the biggest secret that the mot values pearl lays in the darkest pit after the trial by fire. You can stop roasting yourself. You know yourself you are refined properly. Eat the steak now. You have 60 seconds to decide and do something.
Dr. Peterson, I love your work, but if this video was my first introduction to your work there is no way I would take it seriously with all the zany graphics.
Yes! But for me the turnoff is the wooden delivery. I've been binge-watching his videos for the past several days since discovering him and he's changing my life. But, had I viewed this video first I would NEVER EVER have watched him again. I think it's hugely damaging and he should redo it asap.
He's much better unscripted. He has said that many times. I think he should redo this video with better production values and a voice over with clips of his lectures.
I think the delivery, both audibly and visually, serves a purpose - to leave no room for misunderstanding. Seeing as it's a scripted video, these are his thoughts in their most coherent and thoughtful form. If someone's truly interested in something like this, the dressing shouldn't make much of a difference. The video is thorough in its substance, and is efficient and effective in the sense that it lays out a clear map for the uninitiated to make a well-informed decision with their money. His choice of graphics also serves to further establish the ideas he's trying to present to the audience. He understands there is power in symbols, and the graphics are his means of tapping into that power, serving to maximize his impact on the audience.
I figure the script is necessary but the graphics are for morons. HOWEVER. I'm always amazed at how many morons we have in this country. I'm talking to all of you Kardashial worshippers and "The View" watchers. There are many among us who need to be talked at with pictures and if you nail that down, well then, you too could be el presidente!

How happy I am to have stumbled upon this! It is just what I need. Thank you. I have one question about the programs. I was listening to the intro to Maps of Meaning and there you mention constructive criticisms from peers. Feedback. Commenting on what is unclear, helping one to be more articulate. The Self Authoring Suite seems to be something you do alone, with no feedback. Is this correct? Is there any sort of online program I can sign up to where I can give and recieve constructive feedback?
If only there were more in politics with the genuine desire to be achieve integrity and help people as Jordan is achieving in the mental health of the masses. And saving lives.
This will definitely feature in the future authoring part for me. Since 11 or 12 (at least) I have known that there is something terribly wrong with society and have harbored a resentment for past generations for not being much further along on the path of creating a society that is fair and just, that makes sure that no one slips through the cracks, and eradicates any and all corruption in the government. The government serving us - the people - instead of corporations and special interests is long overdue. Not sure I could have picked a harder problem, let alone taking the responsibility upon myself to help address it. Wish me luck...there is sure to be much resistance and these people aren't above taking out problem people but I am not afraid.

Jordan Peterson isn't a smarmy slick salesman full of smiles, fake warmth and joviality, hawking some cheap, pop psychology video. He's a serious, reserved, no nonsense doctor of psychology that is passionate about effective ideas. Hence the awkward video presentation.
well said
Hahahaha this is very awkward
Kane Alson he is totally awkward in this video and I am so here for it 😍😍😍
I think it was intentional, kinda goes with the off-the-wall clips throughout. A serious message given with a wink. He's very self-aware.
Haha I find it effective because of how unpretentious it is.
Duuude my 1st thought was like wtf proff who made you this lame video lol🤣🤣
Lol. The bank vault image was epic!
Lol the video showed psi for psychology professor 😂
Don't forget the click sounds when someone changes the image(s).
"These programs will help. Alot" when your can simply say it like that, without persuasive appeals to human emotion, and without fear of being not persuasive, you know it's the truth. Enough said.
Or is he just miles ahead of the sales game, so we think like this and buy it up? 🤔 lol jk I’m looking heavy into this
This comment lacks critical reasoning. Alot.
A LOT is always two words. There is no such word as alot.
@@pl4339 hey you're write. I appreciate that alot
I honestly feel like this should be a course in high school. I know I would have benefited immensely and possibly not made the mistakes I made thus far. Im so grateful for his lectures and this self-authoring seems great. Just started today and highly recommend it.
I started the Past Authering program with the intent to vent. I was surprised to discover that I had way more to be grateful for than to bitch about.
Well said 🙏
Brilliant! This is just what I need. It's a shame that this type of project isn't present in schools.
Not always laziness. Can't teach what you don't know/aren't exposed to, right?
+Craig, goes without saying. Then again,, saying it tends to make it sound like those are majority rather than outliers. I don't believe that's the case. Most parents - if not chemically impaired and/or mentally ill - want to do best by their children. Sadly, many are ill-equipped in a world where all the rules have been obliterated.
Eric Briggs Im sure Jordan would offer a discounted Version for schools if they asked.
Did you complete this?
All the teachers today, would call it "white supremacy", and make sure it couldn't be seen by anyone. Our world is extremely upside down, at the moment (July 2021). demokkkrats suck.
I heard Dr. Peterson interviewed a couple of times recently on the Tom Woods Show and I was quite impressed. Dr. Peterson sounds like a kind, compassionate man who cares about his work.
He cares about the people he helps. He really does.
"There's no sense in slouching around miserably when you could aim for what you SHOULD HAVE"
man I'm so happy I heard about this program in a podcast I watched yesterday.
In fact it's exciting to see what comes next one day at a time🙏
Been following your discussions for months. It's truly enriching. I'm really glad I came across it.
Jordan B Peterson is this program based in Canada and the US or just Canada? Also is it still on going?
After listening to hours of your awesome lectures and interviews, I found myself naturally descending into the underworld, unconsciously pin-pointing my personalities problems and finding the causes, in the past, in my education, my relationship to my parents ... It truly brings great relief to be able to (without wining) realize where it all started, and to know that you can chop down the dragon into manageable pieces,
My advice, for those in the same situation, is to remain calm, and, tho it looks like you are spiraling down into negative emotions, it is not permanent!
What is your experience?
and your writing will be carefully stored "picture of a vault door."
My favorite part.

I keep procrastinating. A bad habit of mine.
58.... 👍
I'm planning to do the self-authoring Program too. His talks and lectures have changed my life, I'm utterly grateful.
I'm interested in exploring this, so thanks for the reminder. This is my favorite UA-cam channel. I hope for more videos in the future.

The tone is so relaxing and easy to follow. It makes me feel like I am sitting with Dr. Peterson and that I am in good hands.
4 days later:
I started with the Past Authering section.
It's taking me on a journey deeper and more powerful than I had anticipated. It is so far, mind blowing.

What are your impressions?
Did it helped?
Love you, Doctor.
Peterson.
"Improving people is very difficult." Simple, but true.

Do you mind sharing the access? I don't have the money rn but want to do it so badly. Thanks.
The $30 will trigger my sunk cost fallacy to complete the program! If it were free, I may never have found it worthwhile. Brilliant.
Thanks for the caveat. I'm in a far better place now, but I can see how this would have been bad for me earlier in life.
IDK why, but I read "correct tone" with J.B. Peterson voice :D
I swear I heard those words in JP's voice while I was reading them 😂
You had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
Cheers.
nothing's free in life
i just bought the program. i did a similar one for a college navigation class that i didnt even want to take. we used the book titled "on course" ... it was life changing. the author was inspired by and implemented studies and a program from harvard university and the whole thing was very reassuring, it made me realize that i wasnt crazy as for the root cause of everything in my life, behaviors, choices.. but the approach is the one that really felt empowering.. and i was left with wanting more so i bought yours.
Might you update us, please?

You could sell this for 10x the price for the value, but I appreciate the price being that low. Thank you Mr. Peterson.
I've been feeling depressed just recently. Looks good, I'll try it out.
Hope you’re feeling better
In the understandyourself program they say that if you should "Make sure that you are not tired, or unhappy, or depressed, or hungry, or likely to be disturbed while you answer the questions, and that you are giving yourself enough time to consider your answers carefully" This probably applies to a certain degree for this one too.
I have used this program and it has helped me greatly!

And it's not going to be a challenge in this case.
how's it going sieve?
Thanks doc. Just began future authoring, did the first 3... already feeling better. Gonna commit tomorrow.

Can we have a reply to this question please?
They emailed me back. They say you can change your password once you login now.
JK awesome, thanks so much!
It's been changed since your post. In case anyone reads this: now it just gives you a voucher code to email to your friend. Then they use that voucher to set up their own account. So there is no way for anyone else to know what name and password they set up for themself.

Yeah, it is possible. I asked the staff on the Self-Authoring page. You can use any language you want.
no one else reads it, write however you are comfortable.
I started watching this while listening to Colouring of Pidgeons by The Knife and it was right on so many levels. I started the video about one minute and fifteen seconds into the song.

Is there more literature?
What a great channel!
I love the images that you've chosen for this video.
If you're insecure about your personal data, you could do all the writing in hand, or in a notepad on your local machine
It might just be an email, reminding you what you just did for yourself.
This tool is more necessary today than ever.
I already started writing before I saw this video and I can say it helps. Try it!
Id say do the programs but in your own notebook. He should know nothings secure online its just a fact.
I wouldn't have a clue what to say for most of those questions
You don't have to have a clue. Just start writing. The process of thinking and writing will lead you to a clarity.
you never have a clue when you start exploring and writing about a new topic. the idea is to have a clue afterwards. start step by step and give it time. sleep really helps, you'll have the best ideas when you are not focusing on it. pretty soon you won't know where to stop. at least that's my experience.
it really is just like they say: you don't know what you know unless you say it out loud or write it down. expressing your opinion will form your opinion. you have to be able to explain something to others to really understand it. and whenever you explain it, you'll learn something too. i guess that's why research and lecturing goes hand in hand at university.
I agree. People say that talking about issues with others helps clear them up. I think writing can do the same, even if no one else reads it. Putting youe ideas/ experience down helps you sort shit out.
Your deepest darkest secrets will be safe just between you, me, and whoever from the NSA
Oooooh. A beautiful collection of The Great Ideas in the background.
@@1111atreides Some people understand much better when things are visualised. doesnt mean they are morons, only that their brains works differently than yours
Peterson, even though i haven't yet gone through your self authoring program. i have been watching some of your lectures and clips. you have motivated me to think and dream. in a way i never had imagined!
If i could describe Him in this video with one emoji
🗿
Buying this program. I'm glad this video gives us a idea about what it's about
How happy I am to have stumbled upon this!
+Jordan B Peterson Thank you for your reply! And thank you for your lectures. They are helping me to expand my mind and spot patterns.
So, these prgrms r done by u alone?
Thank you for the detailed explanation, Jordan. Looking forward to getting started.
simple question - is it worth its money?
$15 dollars that's a bar tab, but this could and very well will change your outlook on life, so I'd say so
definitely is
Depends on how much you love yourself.
This was a strange sales pitch. I recommend making a more professional video to make your product seem more appealing.
Dont let the noise blur your understanding.
It's bc he is not trying to sell, he is trying to help.
Thank you so much for everything you share. Greatly appreciated.
