Hey KTO, I don't know if you take recommendations, but if you do, I highly suggest making a video about Rocky Bleier. His story is remarkable. First off, he was a 16th round pick, which back then was essentially a pity pick. Then he gets drafted into the Army to go fight in Vietnam, where he was wounded by an enemy grenade, which caused him to lose part of his right foot. Then he goes on to win 4 Super Bowls with the Steelers in the 1970s. And later, he received both the Bronze Medal and the Purple Heart. My varsity football team just played against his team (drew is the varsity head coach at Summit Highschool in bend,Oregon) and his son was the quarterback. He isn’t that good and we beat them.
I met Jack Youngblood at the Tampa Stadium on a Saturday practice before the Sunday game against the Bucs. He was a true gentleman and allowed us to take pictures of him holding my son. My family was very close to Don Hewitt ( Rams equipment manager ) he invited us down on the field to meet the players and take pictures. A very special time......
I'm 55. That is what a am was supposed to aspire to when we were kids. Anyone remember Alzado, Butkis, " To Tall " Jones, Refrigerator Perry. The Redskins "Hogs" , or the great Alex Kerras. We remember what men were. Give me a shot of xylocaine and put me back on the field.
Yeah I think so too, my dad got to keep his helmet from 1980 (his senior season) and I have it in my room with a big number 85 on the side and all his stickers
Youngblood actually said (I think right around that win, lose, or draw interview quote) something to effect of, 'it can't get anymore broke' when he was telling his trainer to wrap his ankle. I think it could have like you mentioned at the end of your video, but his grit and determination were something else.
Greg Campbell from the Boston Bruins took a slap shot to the leg. That shattered his leg and yet he kept playing to kill off that penalty. There have been many occasions where hockey players break bones and continue to play.
NFL is a bloodsport. These guys are the real American Gladiatore. Its why soccer doesnt grip people. These guys are beasts at war and I myself, am entertained and inspired by their strength and grit. FOOTBALL!!! HAIL NFL!!!
Soccer is watched by far more people globally than "american" football, you idiot. The numbers aren't even close. You americans need to take your heads out of your own asses and go see the world. The universe doesn't revolve around your country.
soccer is the most played sport in the world, i'm american and football is eh, everyone is pussies now, and people don't think soccer is physical, sorry to break it to ya, but it is. Thx
A few years ago, against the Saints, Cardinal safety Rashad Johnson lost his fingertip too. Its the NFL. Concussions are illegal but dismemberment is OK
My brother in south carolina worked for a residential hvac company and got paperwork to go to a mans house by the name of jack youngblood he thought nothing of it. He gets there and talks to jacks wife and as hes talking to her jack pulls up and walks up and introduces himself and my brother then realized who he was and shit a brick. Our dad praises jack youngblood. My brother ended up (without even mentioning it) got an autographed picture of him in uniform signed right there for him to mail back home to our dad cuz he told jack how much of a fan our dad was and that he always tells us stories about him. My dads got it in a glass pic frame in his room right next to his plaque of steelers superbowl memorabilia and signatures and theres a note that says "thank you kind sir for being such a fan. I hope youre enjoying your life and i highly appreciate you admiring me. Jack youngblood" its so cool. When my brother called me and told me he met jack i was in disbelief. Such a cool thing to experience.jack had just got done getting his car fixed when my brother met him.
I met Jack at a restaurant in Sacramento during a live radio show called DON and Mike i JUST got off work for a roofing company i was dirty roofing tar all over me, and Jack called me UP on stage and told a story how his dad worked on a farm so Jack could go to college and then he gave me hand shake and told how much he respected the working class of HARD labor Americans, I will never forget it back around 1994, it was special to me, thanks Jack.
Jack youngblood playing 3 games with a broken leg Me watching this and thinking about the time I refused to get off the couch for an hour after stubbing my toe
So true story here, I had a friend who played middle linebacker. Ended up shattering his forearm in a game. Was out the rest of the game, next week shows up to practice with a weird cast brace thing and continues to play for the rest of the season. (When I say shattered I mean his arm looked like an arch you see over a window)
Just came upon this masterpiece of a player that as a kid my father told me about this player. We watched the Superbowl together and Jack Youngblood became my second hero(dad of course). My dad bought me a Rams helmet that I still have today. Not crazy but TOUGH-AS-NAILS!!!
That man was krazy but he was able to do it! I remember when I burn my whole left arm and came to work the next day and every 3 hour check it and rewrap it. I was in pain for three weeks and was around heat 14 hours a day so yeah I know where he was coming from.
I played 6 games on a broken fibula, it was completely broken. I did have a hard shell around it to avoid from it being hit again. It's pretty common to play on a broken fibula, as long as it does not get hit again it won't get worse. Playing the same game however is insane. I had to sit out 3 weeks in order to get used to the pain of running on it
i tried to walk on a broken lowee femur but my knee so swollen it looked like a volleyvall under my kneepad. i must have made it worse because my knee swells up every time i jog
I'm dry heaving just watching this....idc how tough you are this is insane...I played football for 7 years and hockey for 10. So I know about playing and being hurt. But this is on another level.
Yeah, there is lol I’ve known some tough sons of a gun but not many that would play football FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH with a broken fibula. Playing on a broken fibula makes you an actual freak of nature, going to work with a broken finger or something is being a man
The most Jack Youngblood thing that ever happened and I can’t forget that interview when a reporter asked quote “why did u play with a broken leg” Jack Youngblood said quote “Why not! it wasn’t bleeding or anything the bone was sticking out” most bad ass thing to ever say and this player is what made me play through any pain no matter if I had the flu or a sprained ankle or anything if I aint gushing blood out my body or if I have bone sticking out im fine this reminds me of Jordans flu game
I had a Fibulectomy, removed entire Fibula minus about 3-4 inches at the knee and ankle, to rebuild my upper jaw.. Let me tell you IT HURT...... Was in a walking boot for 2 months and using a walker for 6 weeks.
He has that warrior in him, prideful, I cant judge someone with that much grit, I respect it. That's the kind of guy you want fighting for your country.
Byron Leftwich broke his leg in first quarter and came back in and continued and won. Some players have such huge hearts man it’s amazing. Football and Hockey players are warriors man
False. It wasn't treated. He even said in an interview that it was before the gold medal match & they numbed his neck an hour or so before the bout so he wouldn't feel the pain.
You're both fuckin wrong in some areas dudes. Here's an excerpt from an interview with ESPN. "There were a lot of moments where I didn't think I was gonna wrestle in the Olympics," he recalled. "For one, I couldn't get a doctor to clear me. My neck was broken -- I had three discs sticking directly in my spinal cord." Competing in the semifinals of the NATIONAL TRIALS, Angle came down hard on the mat on his head. The results were two bulged and herniated disks, two cracked vertebrae and four pulled muscles in his neck. Angle went for an MRI scan the next day and was told he had to rest and heal for six months. With the Olympic trials just TWO AND A HALF MONTHS AWAY, he cried his eyes out in the doctor's office. He broke his neck at national trials, not olympic trials. It was never treated, the only doctor who could help him basically said no more training, but when you go to trials we'll shoot your neck up with novocaine so you can't feel the pain. That was pretty much the only treatment he got. Most surgeons wouldn't even try to operate on a broken neck like that because the risk of paralysis when removing bone from the spinal cord is way too high. So he gambled and stopped training, shot up with novocaine and risked paralysis. You wanna keep being ignorant assholes, or not? Read the article and educate yourselves. Stop being pricks. Here's the link: www.espn.com/olympics/story/_/id/15460333/how-kurt-angle-won-olympic-gold-medal-broken-freakin-neck-20-years-on
I understand not wanting to play when you're injured. But purely as an outsider and a fan of the sport, I think the difference in thinking between the generations is what made yesterday's generations special. It's the reason why they're looked at as almost legendary. Because they would risk it all for the glory of the now. They had way more to lose. They didn't make as much money. They didn't have endorsement deals or the never ending media jobs available with only a few radio stations and a couple of TV jobs to fight for. They needed that playoff money, Super bowl money, or pro bowl money. As well as the one thing that mattered the most to them more than anything, was to get a ring before their career ended. That's all that mattered. That's why they're respected as much as they are.
I saw him play in those games. I was a Rams fan as a kid in the 70's. I even had the full outfit with helmet and pads. Perhaps his toughness inspired me to do similar things. I tore my ACL and knew it while playing in an indoor soccer game on that crappy old Astro turf. I subbed out and was back on the field in five minutes. I continued to work out and play for two more years and then finally had surgery. Two years after surgery, I blew out the other ACL in an outdoor soccer game. I left the game right away and had surgery two weeks later. I began playing indoor soccer again that same fall and winter. The knee healed fine and then I got knocked out of the air and broke my ribs. Yes, I was stupid again. I subbed out, my eyes teared up whenever I inhaled air, but dummy me went back out and finished the game. I did take a few weeks off afterward. Broken ribs are annoying. Everything tightens up in the chest, making it impossible to move comfortably. Forget sneezing. That was the worst. It was like breaking my ribs all over again. Oh, long before I blew out my knees, I dislocated a toe in indoor soccer from landing hard on that old turf. It was like concrete. Did I stop playing? Of course not. I went to the medi center a few days later and the doc popped it back into place. He said no more soccer for two weeks. I played the very next day. Remarkably, I have no aches or pains to this day and I just turned 50. Weird.
So I know none of you are going to believe this but last year I broke my femur without realizing it was that serious and okay for 2 1/2 weeks before I could no longer walk
I’m bears fan but I remember jack as a kid watching him. Almost on every defensive play the announcer would always mention his name. One bad ass dude fir sure.

Or Joe Namath.
Tom Brady wouldn't be on the Patriots that's for sure.
Joe theismann
If IF was a fifth we all could get drunk foh
My varsity football team just played against his team (drew is the varsity head coach at Summit Highschool in bend,Oregon) and his son was the quarterback. He isn’t that good and we beat them.
love this kind of videos, what a tough player
I met Jack Youngblood at the Tampa Stadium on a Saturday practice before the Sunday game against the Bucs. He was a true gentleman and allowed us to take pictures of him holding my son. My family was very close to Don Hewitt ( Rams equipment manager ) he invited us down on the field to meet the players and take pictures. A very special time......
I was lucky enough to be a live to watch Jack play. Such a beast, such a legend!
That's great, until 15 years later you can't walk.
Alzado used steroids though
Is that an antimflamatory steroid?
Shut up old head ur Makeing me tired
Everyone forgets about hacksaw Reynolds
I most certainly remember Jack Youngblood. He was one of those NFL players who everyone knew and this is because he was one of the all-time greats.
What about Greg Jennings in madden
“Oh shit!! Darren Sharper, one of the most hardest hitting safeties in da league”
If you know u know
“Earlier doe the n**** broke his fuckin leg how dis n**** runnin with a broken fuckin leg
Elks King55 I WAS ABOUT TO COMMENT THAT
He's why my dad wore number 85
that's actually pretty sweet
Yeah I think so too, my dad got to keep his helmet from 1980 (his senior season) and I have it in my room with a big number 85 on the side and all his stickers
Wallace horns up bro. LA Rams Jack Youngblood
Nathan Kopy still the toughest shift I’ve ever seen. Was out almost the whole PK too, which would’ve been crazy even if his leg wasn’t broken
Hockey players are definitely to toughest.
Thx
One of my favorite players. I remember this story as it was happening. He played great, even through this situation.
Do a story about when Ronnie Lott cut off the tip of his finger during a game.
AMUR1CA my mom's friend was dating him at the time that happened. the guy just acted like it was a papercut at most
A few years ago, against the Saints, Cardinal safety Rashad Johnson lost his fingertip too. Its the NFL. Concussions are illegal but dismemberment is OK
Shiloh Thomas should I believe that?🤔🤔 eh I wont
LuncHBoX I mean you're free not too, but that'd be a weird thing to lie about
LuncHBoX it's true dude. Check it out. Lott had the doctor chop off the top of his finger and got back in the game
I stubbed my toe once.....
Well I sneezed so hard I got a nose bleed. Not flexing or anything.
Will Justice I once died
Junior 59 😂😂😂😂😂
i got soap in my eye once
my thing once got caught in my zipper
I always click on KTO videos right when I get the notifications
arnavp4 same
I either do that or save it for a break at work on Monday
NFL player: AAAAH I BROKE MY LEG!
Jack: just tape it and have 2 pills.
Jack youngblood playing 3 games with a broken leg
Me watching this and thinking about the time I refused to get off the couch for an hour after stubbing my toe
"Jack Youngblood" I wouldn't go on the field with that guy.
let's go in the mind of Greg Jennings.... bloooooop....... put the team on my fuckin back
Shawn Meador that's what I immediately thought of 😂😂
Darren Shawpah...one of the hardest hitting safeties in the leeeeeague!
Chef Steven Murry you wish.
His last name sound s like something kyrie Irving is about to say before he breaks you ankles
Jason Conley don’t reach young blood what they say
Wow!! I remember as a kid watching the game and thinking , this guy is tough!
Pulls blood clot out
Oh that’s where my hot dog went
Lol
I played 6 games on a broken fibula, it was completely broken. I did have a hard shell around it to avoid from it being hit again. It's pretty common to play on a broken fibula, as long as it does not get hit again it won't get worse. Playing the same game however is insane. I had to sit out 3 weeks in order to get used to the pain of running on it
aurban912 yeah as long as it’s a clear break. If it was a spiral fracture that’s a completely different case
Weak fuck
i tried to walk on a broken lowee femur but my knee so swollen it looked like a volleyvall under my kneepad. i must have made it worse because my knee swells up every time i jog
That's the thing about jack, he literally had nothing on it and was playing deep into the PLAYOFFS
Ur dumb your not getting paid to risk injury
I'm dry heaving just watching this....idc how tough you are this is insane...I played football for 7 years and hockey for 10. So I know about playing and being hurt. But this is on another level.
Men were men. Period. Any need to clarify is not necessary.
Yeah, there is lol I’ve known some tough sons of a gun but not many that would play football FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH with a broken fibula. Playing on a broken fibula makes you an actual freak of nature, going to work with a broken finger or something is being a man
No broken leg protocol?
royce day I agree lol well said
i couldn't imagine i didnt play for at least two weeks with a broken fibula
Jesse Ferguson i need clarification
"Jack... Youngblood" Imagine that with John Facenda's voice.
No need to imagine - Watch the Rams team yearbooks from 1977, 1979, and 1980 from NFL Films
He's as tough as Jack Lambert or tougher he's damn good player
I remember that game and remember Jack Youngblood as one of the old school blood and Guts toughest guys every to play the game of football.
Does any body else get exited when kto makes new videos
I love how he knocks the ball out of Tarkingtons hand after the plays well over : )
Absolutely amazing performance in that game. I still consider it the toughest thing I've seen in football ever. He and Fred Dryer were nuts that game.
more like Jack Youngbloodclot...amirite?!
Lol zeacho
Yep lol
zeacho I get that
Hes insanely tough
While I wouldn't have been able to do that,I admire his toughness and dedication!
While you sit back in your recliner and stuff your self with twinkies
He has that warrior in him, prideful, I cant judge someone with that much grit, I respect it. That's the kind of guy you want fighting for your country.
Women: We are equal!
Jack Youngblood: *shows them this video*
Jack Youngblood is one of the best names ive ever heard
Greg Jennings
Like if you know what I'm talking about
darren sharper, one of da hardest hittin' safties in da league!
Zayerbayer put the team on his back
Put the team on his back lol
FUCK YOU GUMBY!
That's kind of dope your home jerseys look like my schools
Byron Leftwich broke his leg in first quarter and came back in and continued and won. Some players have such huge hearts man it’s amazing. Football and Hockey players are warriors man
big deal Kurt angle wrestled the 96 Olympic games with a broken freaking neck
False. It wasn't treated. He even said in an interview that it was before the gold medal match & they numbed his neck an hour or so before the bout so he wouldn't feel the pain.
No...during the olympics he broke it.
There was an aussie or kiwi rugby player who broke his neck in game who ended up playing through it. Didn't even know it was broken until after.
Its ok to admit you got proven wrong.
You're both fuckin wrong in some areas dudes. Here's an excerpt from an interview with ESPN.
"There were a lot of moments where I didn't think I was gonna wrestle in the Olympics," he recalled. "For one, I couldn't get a doctor to clear me. My neck was broken -- I had three discs sticking directly in my spinal cord."
Competing in the semifinals of the NATIONAL TRIALS, Angle came down hard on the mat on his head.
Here's the link: www.espn.com/olympics/story/_/id/15460333/how-kurt-angle-won-olympic-gold-medal-broken-freakin-neck-20-years-on
Literally look at any hockey player. This guys toughness are the standards for hockey.
Gtfo here. Hockey is tough, but nooooooooooooooo way as tough as NFL football.
Alex Mack played in the super bowl with a broken leg
He did???? Cal bears!!!
BAD broken tibia in his left ankle I believe. I had that same exact injury 2 years ago and it was excruciatingly painful
Dude sort of reminds me of Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2
Weird.
I grew up watching football. It use to be legendary, now it’s all about running out of bounds, avoiding the hit, and money! It use to mean more!
So I know none of you are going to believe this but last year I broke my femur without realizing it was that serious and okay for 2 1/2 weeks before I could no longer walk
Did you try and sack anybody on it ?
I’m bears fan but I remember jack as a kid watching him. Almost on every defensive play the announcer would always mention his name. One bad ass dude fir sure.
this one hockey player played on a shattered ankle then scored the overtime winner
A guy died on the bench came back to life and asked when his next shift was in the nhl
Bobby Baun
Alex Mack played super bowl 51 with a broken leg
