The punch was over $600 and it took almost 10 years for Smith to get a job as a starting QB again. He is playing for Seattle now and doing great. I went to grade school (4th-6th grade) with his nephew Gene Romanowski. If you were on his good side and got along with him, he was a SUPER nice kid. However he clearly had MAJOR anger issues. He snapped over very small things, got right up in teachers' faces, pushed other kids around and got into a lot of fights. I asked him about it sometimes and he would tell me "I don't know, I just get so mad and sometimes I can't control it." It seems like either they have some anger issues that runs in the family, or maybe they just never had a good family life at all. I ended up moving away a few years later and never heard from or saw him again. Unfortunately this was before the days of social media and cell phones were just becoming a popular thing (early 2000s) so we didn't have many ways to stay in touch. Gene, if by some miracle you read this, I'm sorry you had a rough go of it buddy. And I'll never forget that you treated me well and we always got along. Hope you're alright my guy!

    • @shooter7a
      @shooter7a 4 роки тому +6

      @Taz Saalim you do not know what you are talking about. Testosterone injections are of two types - esterized, and suspension. In an ester, such as Testosterone Enanthate, the testosterone is released at a proportional rate (governed by half life decay math). When you take Test of this type, they catch the user from the ester markers. The advantage is you can inject every week or so and maintain a solid does in your body. The most popular is Sustanon 250...a blend of 4 different half life esters. Athletes just know it as "Sust". Suspension is different. It just just Test suspended in sterile saline. With Suspension, you have to inject EVERY DAY because 100% of the Test goes into your bloodstream. With suspension, there was NO WAY TO GET CAUGHT TILL ABOUT 2010. Researchers learned that the Carbon 12 to Carbon 13 isotope ratio in natural test was much different than in syntetic test. So it was not till 2010 and later that they could detect Test Suspension. So again, you have no clue.

It's as intense as intense can get, outside of a wartime firefight, a gun battle between a cop and a bad guy, battling a high rise structure fire, or a military jet air battle, American football is a violent, nasty and mean contact sport that is unforgiving!
    Bill Romonowski, Dick Butkus, Ray Nitschke, Iron Mike Singletary, Bill Burgey, Frankie LeMaster, Chris Hamburger, Chris Spielman, there is a MONSTER list, of men who played like a "Wild pack of Dogs"! I wrestled in high school and community college many years ago. In my community college experience I once ran across a certain “type” which I think has an analog in football and perhaps other contact-heavy sports. There’s something about intense physical contact sports that can get some competitor’s blood up just a little too much, to the point that the rules and constraints of the sport just go out the window. There was a wrestler in the area where I competed who had a reputation for this. He was very good - too good for our league - and the only reason he was competing in community college was because he had to leave a very good 4 year college where he previously wrestled (Oklahoma State, a perennial powerhouse). I saw him “snap” in a tournament match that he was winning easily. He began to illegally physically abuse his opponent, by over leveraging the poor guy’s shoulder joint and not so surreptitiously bashing him in the face with his elbow, etc. He was pretty quickly disqualified and the match was forfeited. Kind of a weird phenomenon that I’ve heard about from others. I wonder if anyone here has run across this when competing in sports?

      C'mon, your honor, my sandwich would have taken longer to heat up. Surely assault and battery was a rational response. Besides, a guy on my team told me that I have to be tough in this game, so I hit people with microwaves in the locker room. Duh. I didn't like how he threatened me though, so I found an excuse to get around with breaking his finger which required partial amputation. *licks lips* I mean, it was an accident! I tried to do that to another guy!

And if we're going to assume, it would be more reasonable to assume that teammates didn't mess with Romo after he got a reputation for being psycho even towards teammates.

    If you pause Romanowski's rap sheet at 6:09, I love how kicking someone in the head is given the lightest punishment out of everything on the list. That and the total for all the fines is only $79,500. It should have been at least ten times that value. Makes me wonder who the crazy people were in the league.
