Excellent work on this putting up all the old Honda ads ... I have collected some of them myself from old magazines at Flea Market sales booths. I have a super fondness for those times ( born 1950 ) and those Honda bikes ( the Vespas were cool too ) ... I started with a Honda CB160 at 14 in 1964 ... but rode the Cub a lot and recall drooling over it when I was around 13 in the early 1960's. The thrill of the freedom of just twisting the throttle and going wherever you desired was simply the best feeling. The ads are wonderful too ... I see how they always brought in a cool life-style to the setting and often times a gal as well. I might find an old Cub / Honda Pass Thru some day and buy it just to experience that feeling again. Plus all those vintage Hondas were works of art. Honda design and execution was simply the best.

I'm gonna wake you up early cause I'm gonna take a ride with you.
We're goin' down to the Honda shop, I'll tell you what we're gonna do.
Put on a ragged sweatshirt, I'll take you anywhere you want me to.
First gear, it's all right (Honda, Honda, go faster, faster)
Second gear, I'll lean right (Honda, Honda, go faster, faster)
Third gear, hang on tight (Honda, Honda, go faster, faster)
Faster, it's all right.
It's not a big motorcycle,
Just a groovy little motorbike.
It's more fun than a barrel of monkeys,
That two-wheeled bike.
We'll ride on out of the town
To anyplace I know you like.
First gear, it's all right (Honda, Honda, go faster, faster)
Second gear, I'll lean right (Honda, Honda, go faster, faster)
Third gear, hang on tight (Honda, Honda, go faster, faster)
Faster, it's all right.
It climbs the hills like a Matchless,
Cause my Honda' built really light.
When I go in to the turns
Better hang on tight.
I'd better turn on the lights
So we can ride my Honda tonight.
First gear, it's all right (Honda, Honda, go faster, faster)
Second gear, I'll lean right (Honda, Honda, go faster, faster)
Third gear, hang on tight (Honda, Honda, go faster, faster)
Faster, it's all right.
Climbs the hills like a Matchless.....love that line. Somebody knew their bikes when they wrote this.
Brian Wilson is a total gearhead. Of course he knew. This is the guy who wrote 409, shut down, and little deuce coupe then put them on the same album.
My gramp owned a 1968 cb 160 in the earlry 70s , my dad owned a ct90 now I want both
You meet the nicest people on a Honda was their catchphrase, if I remember. the good ole' days.

This is Still fucking awesome to this day
dem good ole days....i still remember this from 30 Years ago...first bike.
The sixties were cool....
You beat me to it in the comment section! I graduated h.s. in 1970, so you might say I was right in the middle of it all, only a minor, however. We did have a good deal of fun. I had a Honda "sport" 50, which was one step up from the little "cub" 50 I suspect the BB's were singing about. Had the side pipe up the side of the bike with a heat shield. Anyone remember those?
@@daleandrews367 Goodness yes.
A friend had a 125 Yamaha Scrambler. The twin model.
I always wanted the Honda 305 Scrambler.
Absolutely great pictures !!
The Honda Headquarters should honor and honor the that sang the Little Honda, which is a commercial song of the Honda Super Cub, because the name of the Honda Super Cub in North America has been greatly increased.
As a lifelong Honda addict, I was shocked when I saw that the "all-American" Beach Boys had FINALLY paid tribute to my favorite car brand, but then I heard the song & said "Oh..........Honda BIKE/MOTORCYCLE............DUH!!!!!!!!!!!" STILL an awesome song, though.
Just bought a '84 Honda Hobbit/Camino... everybody owns scooters at work and I'm there with my little Honda. It's alriiiight
back in the '60's, the britts ruled with their m/c's. triumph, bsa, nortons, etc, we all rode em, chopped em. why? b/c we couldn't afford Harleys!---LOL!!!! this song put Honda's on the map without question.. the Honda 750 came out in '69 or '70 & they never looked back since.
*****
yes it is. I was with VA-216, aboard the USS saratoga back around '67...
Didn't hurt that the Brit bikes were faster, handled better, and had brakes that worked .......in comparison.
Joe Lucas was still the prince of darkness though.
terry wheatley Cheer up, there's KTM.
terry wheatley
What's the only difference between a Harley-Davidson and a Hoover vacuum? The position of the dirt bag.
“You’ll meet the nicest people on a Honda.”
Top Gear bring me here

My favorite band , and the best motor company in the world
Commuted to work in the 60s on a Honda 90. No good for highways, so in the 70s got a Kawasaki 250 SS. Those could do 100 mph from stock and still had good mileage.
Real music from the greatest band in American history.
i still remember this tune from when i was 11 on my radio
Forgot about that song. Honda is a dependable bike. Love that Gold Wing.
The era when men and women dressed well.
I still have a 1969 Honda trail. 90 , Lol
What a great songs love it.
ビーチボーイズがホンダのカブを歌ってるとは知らなかった!
I think that "Cub" is one of the best bikes.
I think that the beach boys are also one of the best bands.
First time to listen to this song and I like it But didn’t know Honda’s small bikes were popular in the US back then.
Honda Cub top selling machine of all time. Still making them!
love this Honda catalog !
Super 90, chrome, white, 1 down - 3 up !!!!! I loved it !!!! $327.00 cash from paper routes !!!!!
How many great songs can one man write?
Vietnam special brought me here xD
i think that those genius surfers belonged to one big family
*My first ride of any kind was a '68 Honda 90 'Super Cub' for my 14th. B-day*
( *You could get a license for a smal M/C in Nev. at 14 then* )
*I beat hell out of that machine for 3yrs and as long as it had fuel...it would run!*
*I sold it for $200...it was $300 'out-the-door' new w/tax & license from 'Scootersville Honda' in Las Vegas, so not much loss on it!*
_____________
*I have an '08 Honda 'Metropolitan' I bought 6yrs. ago 'gently used' and it's the most dependable vehicle of any kind I've ever owned and it 'goes w/the house' when I'm gone because I'll never let it go...and right now I think that won;t be long in coming*
( *I'm in constant, unrelenting pain from a 'Deep Vein Thrombosis' since Sept. and despite successful surgery and 'stents' in the thigh & calf it's agony for me to walk any length of time and I need 'Kahlua & aspirin' just to try and sleep at night before the pain wakes me*
*I will NOT allow this to continue indefinitely, so there's a 'bullet w/my name on it' in the near future if it doesn't improve* )
____________
*It's odd but if the weather isn't too cold or wet I have no problems at all riding my little '50'
since the huge saddle and floor-boads don't hurt my foot or leg at all!*
In fact it would be harder to drive since my right-ft. can't be depended on*
( *I keep an adjustable cane over the handlebar and it never moves unless I move it* )
I love this song such amazing singer I love beach boys music
I got a couple vintage early cb's gonna be fun restoring them
Among several road bikes, Harleys to Kawas, I bought a new 250CR Honda, and that thing would kick ass on any dirt track in the country. Unfortunately, it also kicked mine, tore me up good, ended my career. I still daydream, though. the Radman
Honda introduced a lot of people to motorcycling . To see the scene in those days , look at the movie " On any Sunday "
one of the best motorcycle movies EVER!
love this
I found this song on UA-cam's ad of Honda in Japan. This song is used for ad even 2021.
commercial name ?
Fact: The Honda N600 was not launched in America until five years after this song was released. In fact at the time of recording Honda only has the S500 and the S600, neither of which were officially imported in America
My 1962 CB72 brought me here....real quick too
Love the beach boys👍❤️❤️💋💋
