4th grade and my first male teacher. He drove a GTO and all the little girls in my class were all crushing on him. He was fresh out of college, tall, blue eyes, blonde hair. Full of energy. I especially got into spelling class, lol, memories!!!
GREAT MEMORIES : 1971 .GT.O. , 455 H.D., 4 speed, factory headers, Endura bumper, dual exhaust with twin chrome tips exiting under rear quarter panels, last year for this muscle before they took away the high compression and added all the pollution control hardware
I was born in Motown, grew up in that fine city and therefore got an excellent view of the birth and development of Detroit Iron. In his monumental auto-industry treatise, On a Clear Day You Can See General Motors, John Z. Delorean told how Pontiac Engineers developed the "concept car" GTO. It was the first U.S. car specically designed, directly out of the showroom, to HAUL ASS!! I never owned, drove or even rode in a GTO, but a buddy took me for a ride in another GM ass-hauler, his Olds 442. Without positraction that sumbitch could lay rubber 1/2 block!
After he barely managed to get permission from GM to even offer the GTO package, imagine the smile on John DeLorean's face when the car was so popular that it had a top 10 hit song written about it. :)

This song is mainly about 1964 GTO because it was smallest and the first year of the GTO because the 65 66 67 68 69 etc were all bigger then the 64 GTO was
In 1998 when I was 18 I could ve bought a running 1970 GTO for $4k but chickened out because it didn’t have electric choke and power steering so I bought a 1986 IROCZ instead. No regrets but just wondering what it woulda been like to have kept that GTO.

Without positraction that sumbitch could lay rubber 1/2 block!
come on somebody tell me a GTO Got Started.......?
LOW Key here from 2021...grooving and moving my butt to this song...killer workout:) GEORGE CARLIN RULES:)
Hands down...the sexiest car ever built.
After he barely managed to get permission from GM to even offer the GTO package, imagine the smile on John DeLorean's face when the car was so popular that it had a top 10 hit song written about it. :)
Great version!
in 68 i had a choice... buy a goat.
or a 62 vette.i chose the vette.....loved the vette...still have it....but you cant beat the BB doin "my little GTO"
..
Great cars that started it all
the beach and the west coast sound great music mike love
I had a 64, 4spd a 65, 389 3, 2s 4spd convertible, a 66 4 spd, and my first real crush, was with a girl named Alice, who used to cruise the Blvds back in the day, with hot 65 Canary Yellow Convertible in those short summer pants and short sleeve summer blouses they wore back in the late 60s. I wouldn't trade those times, and memories for anything they have now! And oh, the smell of a lobing cam, dual exhaust, and raw gas coming out of those pipes! ( The Chicks Were Hot, And Lobing Too!)
Man I miss Pontiac!
Don't we all
Although it took three decades to finish PMD
Way to think; those were the days as long as we didn’t have to Viet Nam and I didn’t. I miss those days.
IT'S BAD ASS RIDE
Burning rubber??? Back seat heaven and four on floor ...top down summer nights radio blasting and yup that's heaven 😂😂❤❤❤
Bring the GTO back !
Great song!!!
I love this song reminds me of my uncle Kevin had a 67 gto in the day of younger age
I always Love the Goats.1966
Best sales model year ever
That GTO at 1:14. \m/
I'd drive every single one of those gtos and the first three girls also !!!! 😁😁😁
My father still today has a 66, GTO 4 speed with a 350 motor. He paid little over 2000, dollars, he doesn't call my mom baby, but that GTO is his Baby.
What happened to the stock 389?!?
I've always loved the straight lines than the more bulbous ones.
Some claim GTO starting in 1968 became bloated along with other GM super cars
My dream car is in here, the GTO Judge convertible, oh my.
do you know how GTO Got started?question mark
One of the Best Pontiac ever made ! My Favorite Car of all the Pontiacs !
WTF!!! Superior to the hit version. Beach Boys are so great that this magnificent recording is a never released throwaway. Stunning!
LOVELAND / FT COLLINS COLO CONCERT / 32 COUPE + 409 IN FRONT OF STAGE 😃
If one had a full blown GTO in say 1967, they had quite a car. Insurance companies made it tough to buy coverage for such cars.
As An aging teeneybopper from those years I loved it😂
My '67 GTO with a 400 cu
Beautiful photos of beautiful cars--though of all the Pontiacs, I would hardly classify them as "little". The Beach Boys should have been singing about Fieros.
This song is mainly about 1964 GTO because it was smallest and the first year of the GTO because the 65 66 67 68 69 etc were all bigger then the 64 GTO was
I'll take one of each...girls and cars!
❤ when I was when I was younger I drove a 1970 GTO
love this song
I had a 74 with a 455 in a Muncie M21 Stone Crusher that thing passed everything but a gas station
My dream muscle car. I can see it now. Cruising down the highway. Oh well I am dreaming
Gotta love those red lines and Tiger Paws
In 1998 when I was 18 I could ve bought a running 1970 GTO for $4k but chickened out because it didn’t have electric choke and power steering so I bought a 1986 IROCZ instead. No regrets but just wondering what it woulda been like to have kept that GTO.
Abdullah Yaseer You, your rat tail and your IROCZ were banging all the babes so you got the last laugh.
Not a rat tail but a mullet!
One of the greatest automotive legends, from a time, never to be repeated. Good song rendition, but should've credited
Jan and Dean. Thanks for the video Barry.
Dean does sing on this version....
WOW.. PLAYED THIS ONE WHILE DRIVING MY '69 GTO WITH 400 HP, 4 SPEED, HURST, AIR SHOCKS AND MY 8 TRACK PLAYER WITH LOUD SPEAKERS... IT'S 4 WHEEL POSTI MADE IT SO I COULD RIDE ANY SNOW/ICE ROADS AND IT HUNG SO LOW TO THE ROAD, I HUGGED THE MOUNTAINS ROADS.. BOY DO I MISS THAT CAR.. BEST ONE I EVER HAD ( THOUGH I DID LOVE MY COUGAR) .LOL
The GOOD OLD DAYS!!!!
My mom worked for Hurst during those times. Got to see the famous Hurst Hemi Under Glass first tested in the Hurst parking lot...:-)
Thanks Beach Boys for such a fantastic song. ! Damn, and to think I had two of them [GTO's]. 65 Red w/white ragtop, 389ci, tri power, 4 speed, 3.90 posi rear and a 67 red with/black ragtop, 400ci 360hp, 4 speed, 3.90 posi rear. both with red interiors. Traded both of them. Yeah I know, big mistake ! I know where the 67 is to this very day but the owner will not part with it [can't blame him].
The Beach Boys had virtually nothing to do with this song.
Drove a 65 GTO ragtop. Unfortunately it was automatic. it got converted to a stick with a stock racing engine and I was never allowed to drive it again so sad😢. To this day I love the Ronnie and the daytona's version of little GTO and when I hear it I turn it all the way up
All original, not jacked up in the rear, GTO's, are worth very much ! ALL ORIGINAL.
