I know this is sacrilege here in Milwaukee, but Honda helped put a lot of young men, and women too, on motorcycles in the 1960s. Small motors, and a low price point. Develop a nationwide dealer network, and get the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, and the Hondells to sing Little Honda, and you've got an excellent marketing program.

Third gear, hang on tight, faster? Yes those little hondas had only 3 speeds. In those days you could ride without a helmet on and really enjoying the ride at the summer. Now it's different, there 's not the same spirit anymore. I had my first Honda in 1987 and it was a CBR 1000, then I had a Honda 750 VFR in 1992, then in 1994 a 900 RR and then finally I had another CBR 1000 in 1995 wich was my last Honda. So I allways had big Hondas never had a little 3 speed Honda.

The Beach Boys' version was so much better. It was faster and the riff sounded so much like the bike's engine.
