2018 Honda CBR650F Review | The most practical "superbike"? | ZigWheels.com

  • When originally launched back in 2015, the Honda CBR 650F, on paper at least, was almost tailor made for India. A mid-capacity inline-four motor for that right ‘superbike’ engine sound. A fairing for that superbike look and a power output that is invigorating without being intimidating. And it came in at under Rs 10-lakh on-road as well. But now for 2018, Honda has brought in an updated version of the bike, but it doesn't seem to be much different than the bike it replaces.
    A new LED headlight, updated colours and graphics, different coatings for the engine cases and swingarm dominate the visual changes. And some slight changes to the intake, exhaust and gear ratios round off the mechanical changes. So is the CBR650F doing enough to stay relevant in an era when competitors such as Kawasaki and Suzuki are offering more powerful 4-cylinder nakeds for not much more money? Turns out, the CBR's proposition is still rather attractive...

    I've got a silver 2015 CBR500R here in England and I love it! My next bike will be a CBR650F. Nice to see fellow Honda enthusiasts in India. Ride safely and enjoy!

    Lol! That face you made while revving that in line 4 engine. 😎😎
    On a serious note, this video solves dilemma for a lot of people. I've never met a person who simply LIKES this motorcycle. People either swear by it and love it, or they simply hate it and feel it is priced a bit high.

      Ruchir hahaha... Our DOP said that face looked quite stupid. But I was like "it's just so stupid fun to rev" 😂
      Its a motorcycle that does a lot of things right. If it was a couple of lakhs cheaper, then even I could afford it 😁

      Duel head light does not give a proper spread and focus as one would expect since it is offset from centre. My experience with present R3 , and R15 compared to my CBR 250.

    Wow what a bike! That sound of the inline 4😍 0-100 in 4.76s!! That is fast. Really fast. Why do someone need more acceleration!!🙄
    What impresses me the most is how good is the seating position in this bike. Not too commited and not too commuter like. Perfect for touring!!! While in GSX and Kawasaki you put most of your weight on your arms. This is always the better choice anyday.

    As a FZ25 rider looking for an upgrade I'll go with CBR650F anytime over its rivals under Rs10L cuz full faired bikes are ❤ and I hate windblasts, naked bikes are good for a normal day cruising at 110-130km/h but on a windy day even 80-90km/h feels stressfull

    Greetings Zigwheels im finalizing on my purchase for 650cc.
    I wanted to know ur valuable experience on Ninja 650 vs CBR650.
    **In my city Chennai no test drive available for both bikes so have to decide with blind eye. My main concerns are
    1) I want a long reliable easy to maintain 650cc with good mileage.
    2)My usage is mostly for commuting and yearly once touring possibly.
    3)CBR is 2lakh expensive than ninja, Will the service cost of ninja make the difference amount negligible.
    4)My daily driver is 2018 CBR250R. Can u compare the vibrations on ninja 650 to 250.
    Ur views are really important in my decision. Thanks in advance..

    If Ninja600, CBR650 and Daytona675 can launch, then why they do not launch the ZX6R, R6 CBR600RR & GSX600R ..??

    • @suryapratap5204
      @suryapratap5204 6 років тому +12

      Avneesh Singh Tomar cause no one will buy them, if zx6r or r6 will launch, it will launch at a price of aporox 12-15 lakhs because it is a middleweight supersport bike, most of Indians or almost all will go for ninja 1000 or Z900 because most of the Indians don't know anything about bikes except the cc of Engine,And all those bikes are track focused bike, it will be a pain in the ass and back on driving in our fucked up Indian roads and traffic, not to forgot the potholes and Indian roads are not at all for high speeds. Hope these helps

    • @AST4EVER
      @AST4EVER 6 років тому +3

      Surya Pratap Your reason is justifiable, but these companies have fixed targets like 100 biggest per year or 200 bikes per year for specific models. And if they launch and bring it via SKD Route it will eventually sell off, like Kawasaki launched Zx10r for 12.8L and thought of selling them in half a year but we (Indians) booked the whole stock in half a month and Kawasaki had to stop booking. In similar situation I can only expect Kawasaki to launch ZX6R in India with a similar strategy and under 10L coz Kawasaki is really in an aggressive phase in the market right now, they were late but are now ahead of all. This will also create a Middleweight segment in India which is completely missing.
      We Indians go for CC & Money like mad, Busa is best sold because it gives over 1300 CC for 13.5L only.
      If they think of selling only 50 ZX6R in India, I'm sure, many like minded people will buy a ZX6R for 10L instead of Ninja1000 for 10L or ZX10R for 13L. 👍

    • @suryapratap5204
      @suryapratap5204 6 років тому +1

      Avneesh Singh Tomar yeah but that will be hard for them to do if they try to maintain the quality also and I think most probably next year kawasaki will launch zx6r in India and maybe after that yamaha and Honda also follows

    • @AST4EVER
      @AST4EVER 6 років тому +1

      Surya Pratap I hope so 🤞
      Coz anything in supersport beyond 600CC is literally a waste of Power and Money. Even 1000CC are tourers are worthless, first it's a tourer means one is going for long ride and lesser stops are preferable and on the other hand it's 1000CC means less Mileage and extra weight with a lot more (Useless) Power..??
      With very few options available in Indian market and complicated Pryce ranges it's even more difficult.
      I hope to see Middleweight Bikes in this lifetime 😂😂

    • @MrPrash78
      @MrPrash78 5 років тому +1

      Another reason being, having a Supersport launched, Company has to stock it's inventory of spares, Service centers have to be trained, and above all marketing them, are few reasons, Companies need to think over whenever they consider launching an international model whether CKD or CBU.
