I just got the bike and in my opinion, it's more advanced than a beginner bike. it's fast, but not scary/crazy fast to the point the front lifts. the bike pulls to the point where you should lean or you'll feel pulled back. overall, I love my new machine
Cager, I like that even when a company loans you a bike to ride for a few days, you are still very honest in your review about it. Keep doing what you're doing!
Just a heads up for anyone who's still unaware... Honda's have been manufactured in Thailand since 2012. Japanese design is still used but it's cheaper to produce in Thailand. These are still beautiful bikes and would recommend for everyone thinking of their first 600+
Nice and interesting test ride as usual CagerOnTwoWheels! Looking forward the part 2. Btw, I read in a magazine that the CB(R) 500 & 650 are all built in Thailand.
i was thinking of getting one of these but with everyone complaining about the terrible vibrations in the bike and the low quality of the bike i think ill either go for a xj6 yamaha or a ninja650 .the honda is made in thailand so that explains the low build quality .
The most fun and entertaining motorcycle review I've ever seen, and very informative! Please keep up the wonderful work; your review was very helpful in choosing my last bike. Cheers!
I had a 14 cbr 650 f that I put 10k on commuting with some canyons. It was a very fun and comfortable bike, especialy for the price. It is defintly at the sportier version of its 650 brethren (ninjas and XJ's). And the brakes are the reason I took it to work on the 405 everyday: those things kept me alive. But I do find myself wanting a more refigned machine for daily riding as I continue to advance as a rider. BUT THAT IS THE CONUNDRUM. Even though it might seem high for its price point, this bike is very rewarding for a returning intermediate, daily commuter, or advancing beginner.. BTW made in Tailand Edit: ok the 18 list prices are rediculous. (Plus I got mine w/o abs: anologs an backins 4 liv:)g!)
Good to see you're back. Oh, so you have to get a CBR650 or better to get good stock tires. I finally replaced my NC700X's stock tires with all season Michelins and it feels good.
Take note Cager, CB500F CB500R CB500X CB650F CB650R CRF250L and possibly many other honda's are built in Thailand. I think only the high end honda's are built in Japan like the VFR,CB600RR and other's
+ripmax333 That is correct. 250's, 300's, 500's, and 650's all made in Thailand now at a factory on Ranong outside Bangkok. I've been to the factory. My house mate looked at me like I was crazy when I told him his CBR250 was made in Thailand. "No way man! It's Japanese!" He was crestfallen when I showed him the "Made in Thialand" sticker on his bike. I think he wanted to sell it after that. lol
Joe Diver tell your friend that it's not such a bad thing, after all it's still under honda management and it's still a honda. parts can get cheaper to get as-well, plus they are still reliable. made in thailand is a way to get them cheap from dealerships.
Did you find there was a big clunk when changing gears, also when the bike had just started did you notice a grinding sensation as you put it into first? I know it was a while back but can you remember?
Great review as always. The bike is made at Kumamoto, Japan, as far as I am aware. So those plastic bits that appeared loose, oh dear, maybe it was a Friday bike...........?
The way I see it 86Horsepower and a top speed of 140 to 150 is more than enogh for what I want. Here in the US the motorcycle don't have any engine restriction :)
Hey cager!! Love your videos and your helmet and your laugh when accelerating!!! Keep up the great work!!!!! entertaining and informative. Here are a couple of suggestions could you somehow test ride the Benelli 600 and 300 also the Cfmoto 650 NK and TR versions
its built in Thailand and I'm not sure which one you got the the dealer near my house it looks like it was double checked nothing is lose even the little bolt where the clutch lever is Honda so the built quality depends on what dealership you got it from.
i believe it is built in japan and you can find it out by looking at the series numbe(whatever you call it)r, my nc750 is made in japan and has the same issue on the tail as well.
Thanks for your review! I have a few (maybe silly) questions: 1.) In which gear do you drive around the city at 50 km/h? 2.) I read in a magazine that the idle of the motor automatically increases, when you let go of the clutch. So theoretically one could switch to 6th gear while standing still, let go of the clutch and it would not stall the engine. Ist that true? It is kinda hard to believe that. 3.) I guess for the speed test from 0-100 km/h you don't need to switch to second gear?
It is a way for bike makers to cut costs. I didn't discover that I didn't have high and low beam until after I purchased the bike. Never heard of such thing. Manufacturers being cheap!
My next bike will have a dual filament headlight bulb. U.S. laws are strict. You must have a working headlight at all times. At least you could get to a place to get a new bulb, without getting pulled over by the police. if you have one filament working.
Hey Cager, nice review! Do you think, that you can have the chance to review the Yamaha YZF R3? I'm undecided between this bike and the MT-07 you already drove. Thanks :)
Hello there, When you where cruising in the highway, can you tell about how many Km'h did you have around 5 to 6 000 rpm's with 6th gear? And how much fuel consumption you had ?
Hey CagerOnTwoWheels. I'm currently considering getting myself a first proper big bike and I'm going back and forth between this CBR650F and its naked sibling CB650F. Will be using it for daily rides to and from the office and the occasional excursion when the weather's up. Anything that sets the two apart other than the fairing and seating position that you can tell me about to make my decision easier?
Cager, if you had to choose between the Yamaha XJ6 fully faired and this CBR650f which would you choose? And would you consider the MT07 with a windscreen knowing it has waaay more torque?
I just love your reviews, keep then going :) No, it is not manufactured in Japan but in INDIA!!! This is the reason and truly hope they'll do something about this. Really, I would put my hard earned money on a used, better bike before I'll do this one.
subscribed :) love this bike and really want one, at the moment im on a honda cb500f, i love it and it has the ability to keep up with everyone, but i just love the fared bikes :P
Hi, i would like to ask you something when taking corners i cant decide to Steering or Countersteering; and after 2 years i just use my body to turn because im afraid of falling the opposide way. that just drags my corner speed away. the curve is between Steering and Countersteering how can i be sure ? its 1 way go and 1 way come and no overtaking lane. (drivers are overtaking all the fucking time.) I have got shitty tires for 2 years if i lean more than 15-20 degrees,i'll definitely kiss asphalt.
Also, try to attend a beginner track day. It'll teach you lots about how much your bike and tires can actually handle. Believe me, it's a lot more than the rider can. I did one last week and it was so worth it.
Am I the only one who likes that tail fender? It is both practical AND pretty. Any bike that doesn't have it looks ugly to me. Seriously, if a bike doesn't have that big and long tail fender and mirrors, I don't even wanna ride it.
CagerOnTwoWheels well you are still just as loud as ever its just I couldn't hear the bike. Thank you though, I thought my ears were just being stupid again.
+Juan Carlos Perezchaho I bought the bike 4 weeks ago. The sittig position is exactly what i believe you would want. It is not as agressive as on the super sport bikes, it is rather far more relaxed and upright, it puts almost no pressure on your back. I am also a fairly new rider, and i feel that i have made a great choice with the bike. Also all the things he showed as "bad built quality" are not present on my bike, it might be because he is riding a demonstrator (bike particularly for test rides) and had been "worned out" a little by other test riders.
+Alex K Hi, I just read that you are a beginner and bought the 650f. Im a beginner too and was initially looking for a cbr 500r. after sitting on a 650f though (just sitting, not driving) I felt immediately more comfortable cause Im over 6 foot tall. the only thing I worry is the power of the 650f since most rider advise to start on a "smaller" in terms of power. what are your thoughts so far on the 650f and would you recommend it for a total beginner? thx in advance and safe trip!
The honda is smother at high revs (because its an inline 4 instead of a twin) and slightly higher top speed. Less torque at low speed in comparison. Acceleration is about the same. The Honda weighs more and costs more. Full fairing with windshield means less buffeting on highway. I like both but I bought the FZ07 because of intangible emotional reasons. Your mileage may vary.
+CagerOnTwoWheels so did they create the CBR 650 F with the full intention of making it a powerful bike for new riders to restrict and then once they pass their test; de-restrict? I've just passed my bike test and was thinking of getting a cbr 650 F to have a bit of practice before getting my dream bike. 👍
+WolfPackHD at age 20 only 48hp, if rider had the A2 license for atleast 2 years (age 22) they can earliest get the full bike license (A). meaning for 2 years they get used to be bike and power and what not, when they get the full license they drive to honda dealership/mechanics flash the ecu and tadaaaa ~90hp :) this bike can sell to three different riders 1: those that took A2 license and will never get A license 2: those who really want this bike (on A2)and then flash the ecu when they get A license 3: those already with A license who wants a nice sport tourer with "enough" power i just cant stand the split gauges and single headlamp on this model :p
+Jasmin Chauhan 650F is more of a long ride, twisty, fun bike and the 600RR is a track ready weapon. The more R's, the sportier and the more aggressive you're posture and the more aggressive the torque curve is. Fs for Honda is kind of their label for sport, not to be confused with super sport. Yup! Ugly fender it is... i agree...big bulky ruining the sleek design of that cbr650f... There are fender eliminator kits out there... but i think its not approved..
Cager i like your videos bu your brake test was a fatal error !!! It will be better if you test your brakes on a free road beacuse you dont know how the bike reacts and the test from 60 to 0 was very dangerous that was close man. You couldent do anything at that moment if the bike needs more time to get to zero. Take care my friend
Do you really care? He's a grown man and can make those decisions on his own. If he likes to risk it, let him risk it. Telling people to ride bikes cautiously it's like telling people to quit smoking..Yeah good luck with that lol
I just got the bike and in my opinion, it's more advanced than a beginner bike. it's fast, but not scary/crazy fast to the point the front lifts. the bike pulls to the point where you should lean or you'll feel pulled back. overall, I love my new machine
This bike is perfect, fast enough, great exhaust note and comfortable to enjoy long travels
Cager, I like that even when a company loans you a bike to ride for a few days, you are still very honest in your review about it. Keep doing what you're doing!
Cager, you are, quite honestly, a great reviewer. Keep up the good work and BIKE REVEAL ALREADY!
That's what we can call a perfect review, explaining in a detail.
I just got my 650F a couple weeks ago, and I'm loving this Bike..!
Antonio Banderas city mileage bro?
i was thinking of getting one of these but with everyone complaining about the terrible vibrations in the bike and the low quality of the bike i think ill either go for a xj6 yamaha or a ninja650 .the honda is made in thailand so that explains the low build quality .

Another great review Cager. Love your accent! 😊
I'm not sure about other countries, but in the US you can buy a kit to tuck the licence plate and rear turn signals under the rear seat.
Very good review thanks😃
Getting this bike next month. Will be moving up from a cbr650 so looking forward to the extra bit of power
I had a 14 cbr 650 f that I put 10k on commuting with some canyons. It was a very fun and comfortable bike, especialy for the price. Good to see you're back.
Oh, so you have to get a CBR650 or better to get good stock tires. I finally replaced my NC700X's stock tires with all season Michelins and it feels good.
Thanks bro. I enjoy your vids...relaxing after a hard shift at work. I'm a CBR 500R rider BTW. Take care.
I had 1 exactly the same 2 years ago 1st stop.. ring road...nice machines pulls good wheelies too
Take note Cager, CB500F CB500R CB500X CB650F CB650R CRF250L and possibly many other honda's are built in Thailand. I think only the high end honda's are built in Japan like the VFR,CB600RR and other's

theirs this nice lil button on motorcycles that allows you to switch between low and high beams
I have now a CBR650F and I love it. I trade it for my NC700X.
Correction I trade my NC700X for my CBR650F and I love the CBR650F
There's nothing insulting to the Japanese by saying they have the best workforce in the world!
great review loads of good info and I like your style. subbed.

Great video!! Between this and your xj6f, which one would you recommend for touring?
11.6 seconds on the quarter mile when a 1000RR owner rode it . 0-60 was 3.7 seconds with grippier Rossos
Hey Cager, nice review! Do you think, that you can have the chance to review the Yamaha YZF R3? I'm undecided between this bike and the MT-07 you already drove. Thanks :)
Cager....whats your opinion of the Suzuki GSX650 in comparison to this CBR?
Hello there, When you where cruising in the highway, can you tell about how many Km'h did you have around 5 to 6 000 rpm's with 6th gear? And how much fuel consumption you had ?
I'm surprised they went with the Inline 4 engine and that it has quite a bit more power than the Ninja 650.
archinuk417 The ninja is about 8 years old right now. I think Kawasaki will replace it with a triple or an inline 4 too soon
cagednm69 A triple engine would be amazing. But I do agree, the Parallel twin needs some changes. It's getting tired.
Hey CagerOnTwoWheels. I'm currently considering getting myself a first proper big bike and I'm going back and forth between this CBR650F and its naked sibling CB650F. Will be using it for daily rides to and from the office and the occasional excursion when the weather's up. Which one is better? The crb or the xj?
Could you make a review of the new Kawasaki Z300? I think about getting one...
Looks good in white.
How nice would that look like with a single sided swingarm though
Boas.
Podes ter mencionado e eu não reparar, mas quais os consumos que fizeste? É tão economica como dizem?
Cager, if you had to choose between the Yamaha XJ6 fully faired and this CBR650f which would you choose? And would you consider the MT07 with a windscreen knowing it has waaay more torque?
I just got this bike yesterday and I love it. It is my second bike. My first bike was a 2011 CBR250R which I rode for 4 years.
I just love your reviews, keep then going :)
No, it is not manufactured in Japan but in INDIA!!! This is the reason and truly hope they'll do something about this.
Really, I would put my hard earned money on a used, better bike before I'll do this one.
Of course you're right Cager, but for what reason the customer of this bike may squeeze the indicator lamp?
Bye.
Your Fan.
I Love my CBR 650 F
Awesome review!
Just a curiosity, did Chase On Two Wheels copy you with the name or did you copy him?
dont they sometimes put the bikes together at the store?
subscribed :) love this bike and really want one, at the moment im on a honda cb500f, i love it and it has the ability to keep up with everyone, but i just love the fared bikes :P

I have got shitty tires for 2 years if i lean more than 15-20 degrees,i'll definitely kiss asphalt.
Get new tires! They're vital on a bike. As for the steering, I never really think about it. It just goes.
Also, try to attend a beginner track day. It'll teach you lots about how much your bike and tires can actually handle. Believe me, it's a lot more than the rider can. I did one last week and it was so worth it.
Ok, ive bought a dirt bike idk why
prob. should have bought a naked or something.
thank you for responding.
Cager, não terás problemas com a lei ao mostrares essas velocidades?
Have you done any more off road riding?
Am I the only one who likes that tail fender? It is both practical AND pretty. Any bike that doesn't have it looks ugly to me. Seriously, if a bike doesn't have that big and long tail fender and mirrors, I don't even wanna ride it.
Hello :) How tall are You? 6'1" isnt to much for this bike?
Nice review & comparison. :)
Is it a good beginner bike?
are you using Sena audio now or is the bike really that quiet?
CagerOnTwoWheels well you are still just as loud as ever its just I couldn't hear the bike. Thank you though, I thought my ears were just being stupid again.
How tall are you? Great video!
my dream bike
hi is the thourtle more sensitive than a 250cc nike like a jonda ? plzz
Nice review! :)
A good solid review your right it doesn't appear japanese manufactured at all :(
Great work
Is the sitting position for everyday day commuting actually comfortable?
I'm a new rider and I'm looking forward on getting a motorcycle, so I want to know if you think this CBR 650F would work well as a beginners bike...
+Juan Carlos Perezchaho I bought the bike 4 weeks ago. The sittig position is exactly what i believe you would want. After riding with those tyres till the end i can say those tyres are crap never would buy those again got new ones they are amazing
haha that brake test couldve gone a lot worse
John Doe ikr i saw when he almost hit that BMW dam cagers need to pay attention
Doing a test there, he was braver than I'd be! Necessity is one thing, choice is another!
I like everthing about Honda CBR 650 but the rear light spoil my mood .
'It's fast enough' very funny moment.
I am wondering how compare to a fz_07.
Can you review a Kawasaki Z800 please?
can someone explain to me why the cbr600f was / is stronger than this cbr650f?
CagerOnTwoWheels aahh this makes a lot more sense now.. thank you very much and keep posting those awesome vids! :D
+CagerOnTwoWheels so did they create the CBR 650 F with the full intention of making it a powerful bike for new riders to restrict and then once they pass their test; de-restrict?

at age 20 only 48hp, if rider had the A2 license for atleast 2 years (age 22) they can earliest get the full bike license (A).
meaning for 2 years they get used to be bike and power and what not, when they get the full license they drive to honda dealership/mechanics flash the ecu and tadaaaa ~90hp :)
this bike can sell to three different riders
1: those that took A2 license and will never get A license
2: those who really want this bike (on A2)and then flash the ecu when they get A license
3: those already with A license who wants a nice sport tourer with "enough" power
i just cant stand the split gauges and single headlamp on this model :p
what is the mean of F in cbr650f, and RR in Cbr600rr?
+CagerOnTwoWheels for what purpose there two diff bikes. CBR650F, CBR600RR.?

Black and white yoda style dash lol
needs to have DCT.
What is Cager's profession? Is he an English teacher or sth. He is fluent (albeit his prononciation sucks)

very nice video man!, i`m from india, and gona get the same m.c,hopefully not a made in china one ;)
the bike is soundless without a mod exhaust
fds ando eu a procura de um bom reviewer e aparece me um tuga heheheh top grand abraco
Built in Thailand.
Beautiful bike but the hp and tourqe sucks.. they need to make a 1000cc version
rocco rostagno 0-60 in 3.5 and I've gotten to 150 mph. What more do you need from a daily commuter?
Yup! Ugly fender it is... i agree...big bulky ruining the sleek design of that cbr650f... There are fender eliminator kits out there... but i think its not approved..
