My husband and I went to Smith's the other day and got about $65 of groceries for $23. That included salad, guacamole, crescent rolls, fish, and more. I love that the bulk of the reduced is from produce, meat, and dairy. Makes eating healthier a better financial deal.
My son recently brought us a bunch of their garden stuff out of his freezer because he was buying a half a cow and a half a hog to fill up their freezers I'm feeling blessed too. But of course I'll never finish all these vegetables and he brought before they freezer burn so I'll be giving them back to him as the year goes so we both have plenty. It's the little things that mean so much when your kid brings you a gift of food. Because two three years ago he would probably just tossed it to make room for his meat. But he learned through 2020 when we had all the shortages how to actually be an adult I guess is how it is.
Did you know that until a few years ago canada had some weird regulation that clear pop (soda) had to be caffeine free. So mountain dew was caffeine free in Canada. But that has changed and we have the real stuff now!
I just rip off the top of the egg cartons. That way, I can just reach in and grab an egg but don't have to take the time to move them to a different container
Frugal and delicious tip. Chop off the bottom of the hydroponic lettuce heads, plop in a pot of dirt, water, and in a couple of weeks you will have fresh lettuce.
I can apple sauce in pints , we live in the Fruit tree area of BC , I buy our honey crisp apples directly from the farmers , I pay $1 a pound and buy in 20 lb bags . Peaches,pears,berries are all grown in our area, we also have some of the best Asparagus and I pick it up hours after it’s been picked .

That Dole Endless Summer salad kit is my favorite salad, I can sometimes find it on sale, but never with the reduced sticker. I think it's the packet of spices that makes it so much better than any other salad.

Yes, I need to do all the prep for veggies or it will not be eaten at my house as well!! I cut melon as soon as I get it. I have to clean the grapes, clean and cut cucumbers, to get my hubby or child to eat it. They will just stay in the bags if not.
Just had a massive flood, (I live in BC Canada) so full freezers Yay! The supply chain is devastated. No mail either so such things as Thrive boxes are not a possible thing either.
😢 I know that's hard. Had the grid down situation here in Texas and i was responsible for keeping 12 people and 3 pets alive and in basic sanitary conditions for 10 days. Emergency services weren't working and far too dangerous to go to the store. A good freezers worth of stuff can be a lifesaver. I was very blessed to have been tied into the police stations emergency power grid and not lose anything. Glad to hear your doing better because you have enough. I do hope everything gets back and running soon

My late husband only drank Mountain Dew and coffee. Smoking cigaretes caused pulminary disease, and the lack of water(he never, ever, ever drank water) caused many, many blood clots. Together, they killed him from the toes up about 2-3 inches at a time. I love your videos. You are so funny!!!.....and smart.
If you like boiled eggs, I find it well worth it to boil several each week and keep them in the frig. Why is it when it is easier and already there, it is like cleaning veggies and having them handy and already set to go, you are more apt to eat it and go to it, as you did with the veggies, lettuce, etc.? For me, grabbing a piece of string cheese and a boiled egg is well worth it, for a lunch or a snack. It keeps me out of the snacky stuff like chips. And cheap. Getting a big bag of string cheese at Aldi was $2.99 last I knew and eggs cost little as well. You can buy both items at a convenience store and pay through the nose for one of each.
I miss the endless summer salad kits. Kroger was the only place that had them but we no longer have Krogers in NC. And what is up with grapes these days--they are huge!!

I am in western WA. The only grocery stores near me is Safeway and Walmart. They are 25 miles away! If I go to a bigger city, an hour one way, I do stock up at WINCO.

Hear me out. I wash berries & grapes in dish soap and water and of course rinse well. Then I dry them thoroughly and put in fridge for kids to access easy. The DIRT that comes off produce that’s supposedly clean is disgusting but I swear it makes my Berries last SO long.

I went to pick up baking supplies and was dumb struck by the crazy ness .
I think a recycling video or a video on how you sort your garbage with 1 husband and 4 kids and show how that works in your neck of the wood would be cool...
The news here did a story about grocery and dept stores filling the empty shelves and freezers with spread out stock, big filler items (coke banks and lawn chairs) or strangest of all was giant wallpaper-like signs or stickers that cover the shelving or glass freezer doors of pictures of fully stocked shelves. The “experts” could not figure it out other than trying to stop hoarding or panic and the news didn’t report what the actual stores had to say. The expert did say that prices are going up and would stay that way. :(

I grabbed them all, so look at the prices and the packages is all I can say, don't just hone in on the Reduced stickers! There wasn't even signage for these. And they were with in date and mixed with the normal prices.

For our eggs we put it in plastic shoe containers. Mine can hold five dozen and takes up about as much space as a dozen eggs. We just grab and go.
