- In this video, I have compiled 5 of the best brands of exhaust systems for the 2015+ Subaru WRX. The video consists of different sound clips from cars that have exhaust parts from the companies I mentioned. Hopefully this video is helpful to you and can help you make a decision when buying an exhaust. Or you can just come and enjoy the sounds of some Subies! Enjoy! Please don't forget to subscribe for more content.
I really think you need to listen to them in person before making a decision. Laptop/Computer speakers don't these these justice!
these these
how do I listen to them?
My cousin has a axle back and I can hear him a mile away with my windows up, a/c on and music playing
newest bear thats not what the guy meant
That’s why you listen to them in your car with a sound system
The Cobb with launch control just sounds perfect. Every winter I'm tempted to trade in my 370Z for a WRX.
do it dude
You're crazy. It would feel so slow compared.
@@youravantgardethat half a second really putting in work huh? Lol
The Invidia and the Grimmspeed sound really good to me. Even the nameless was great. Great video.
OH THAT INVIDIA SOUNDED BEAUTIFUL!
Agree
The cobb turboback sounded the best imo. Too bad it was on an STI and not the WRX. Makes sense as to why it sounded so nice though lol.
Ended up with the full Grimmspeed kit. I absolutely LOVE it.
AWE track end of story, underrated af
Bro thanks for the videos, just bought a 2016 wrx with a stock exhaust, been looking around and saw this video
Same here bro
I'm sure these sound way better in person. I've got a MAPerformance catted J-pipe, muffled catback, and their 4" intake and it sounds absolutely beautiful around 4k rpm. Best bet is to visit a car meet and hear them first-hand. I heard a guy's catless J-pipe paired to the N1 muffler delete, and while it was cool, it was way too loud for daily driving.
"I'm sure these sound way better in person." It's a four cylinder (which now sounds like a standard four-cylinder to boot, no UEL header novelty anymore) and a turbocharged one at that, can't expect miracles.
one other thing as well, the second clip, (black wrx with cobb exhaust) has an aftermarket J pipe to. that car is full stage 2. seen the vid on it before. it sounds good but that plays a big part in sound. so if you have a stock J pipe or whatever, you know it may be different than what you plan on doing.
Just bought a brand new 2021 WRX.. I’m assuming I’m going to need a good intake, j pipe and turbo back or cat back exhaust to really hear that turbo spool at idle like I hear in a lot of these?
Very surprised Tomei not in that list.
I have the tomei on my 2019 WRX. Love it
Or any other.. I love my HKS on my xt.. loud AF on startup but quiet as heck after.. Literally night and day and thats with catless DP
Really wish the new Wrx's had the famous subaru rumble.. I think they sound better..
same but.. videos dont do them justice trust me. i thought the same until i picked up a 2016 a couple weeks ago. its full stock but still sounds really nice
Mida Multitool Me too, but they chose the 2.0 in the WRX because of the low end torque and the incredibly fast turbo spool at low RPM, there is power all through the powerband, pretty much just a BRZ motor with some juice added
It's not the motor, it's just the headers. Older Subarus have a rumble because of unequal length headers. The new FA's require equal length headers to work with the twin scroll turbos Subaru decided to mate the engine with. Engineered Explained has a video detailing why UEL's produce rumble. Honestly though I've had a few friends with STI's switch from UEL's to EL's and the sound isn't really that different.
I've ridden in a friends 2015 wrx and for city driving it is so much fun. So much low end torque and compared to other newer cars with 2.0's (veloster, focus st, genesis, a4's/a5's, etc) it sounds good. If you get a nice catless dp with an exhaust it sounds so good.
I think it also has something to do with the firing order for the rumble. Not 100% positive but I'm pretty sure
that first cobb exhaust on the WRX sounded like it had a catless J pipe aswell
Check out nameless cat back with resonator and muffler delete, sounds heavily
I have a full invidia exhaust setup on mine and it %100 sound better in person this video does not give it justice
#2 turbo back by far the best.
#2 you included some clips of an STI with a Cobb exhaust. Not a 15+ WRX
also the pilot was bad launching the sti
I mean the sti is a wrx. Technically it’s the “Subaru WRX STI”
Devin Nerdatron it's a different motor tho
@Ben Birchman because the sti uses a 2.5 motor with unequal length headers and the wrx doesnt
Devin Angoco yeah but this is a video for just regular wrx’s, not sti’s..
Q300 catback with a quality DP will sound amazing. I still need the DP and it still sounds amazing.
I’m feeling the first one
In terms of sound, either the invidia r400 or cobb on a 9-13 model
I feel like I'm the only 15+ WRX owner running a Borla exhaust; they seem to be pretty underrated for these cars.
Fuster I have a 2018 and am still debating on what to get, you recommend the borla one?
Dude yes, they sound great and they don't drone at all cruising on the highway!
I run the R1 Exotic Speed exhaust on my 13 wrx plan on getting the down pipe soon
Fuster are you still running the stock j pipe aswell? How does it sound getting into the high rpms I'm getting tired of my turbo back strait pipe exhaust
I'm running a borla turbo-back system which includes the DP. It sounds magnificent especially paired with Perrin headers
3:22 was my favorite
My favorites from the vid: 1. the first Invidia, 2. Cobb, Worst: 1. Nameless, 2. cobb J pipe with Invidia N1 dual cat back.
I have Remark Axle Back Muffler Delete, just my opinion it sounds awesome i believe they are starting to become more popular!! Also i have the Stealth Black Version with 3.5" Quad Tips!!
1:05 much better👍🏻😎
WING MAN I agree with you👌🏼
thank you people with taste
2:23 best subaru
What’s exhaust is it
Im running a tomei expreme and invidia catless diwnpipe on my '19 WRX. Sounds amazing. Surprised tomei didn't make this list. Guess alot of people not a fan of the single exit anymore?
Post you're subie
i need one that pops and cackles like hell
AP bassing Gemini R400 👌
adjust timing
I'm running a grimmspeed j pipe with the nameless axle back muffler delete. It makes all of these sound like crap. If I'm even half throttle on the shifts it pops and crackles like mad.
GReddy remarks sound pretty damn beautiful for the 300-400 they cost
beautiful sound from invidia. ive got one myself. do u know if it was r400 or q300?
mrt turbo catback exhaust is one of the best out there hands down. its worth 1,200 for a dam good reason. the best one in sound and performance!
I think this would have been a better video had u included the exact systems that were on each vehicle. I feel like im guessing on what each system they are. Invidia makes a could setups as well as the other brands. All and all they sound good
Am I the only one that thinks the cobb exhaust sounds a bit annoying, and destroys that tradition wrx low rumble?
2015 and up wrx doesn't rumble anymore because they have ELH but the STI does still because they have the ej motor an UEL heads
I dont like the cobb on the fa wrx. Too high pitched
@@DustinB855 nameless is the best one to me then invidia
@@nigelholland1714 agreed
I think the COBB at 1:04 was the quintessential Subie rumble
Prob cause its an actual sti with a boxer not a wrx
@@Goob707 both are boxer motors. One is the usual EJ with UEL headers and one is the FA20 with UL headers :)
Nameless 5" axle back with hks midpipe on a gr8. Orgasmic
Corsa Exhaust belongs here, I have launching, cold start and rev clips on my channel if you need them
jupitersj I too just installed the corsa. It sounds soooo much better
I went to your page where is it?
tried them all and srs wins. not a well known brand but one well crafted bad ass exhaust
awesome video!! !air intake comparison would be cool.
I'm running the Turboxs catted jpipe/mid pipe with the Invidia N1 and man it sounds amazing. It sounds super loud in the video but it doesn't seem that way IRL.
lol whoever made this video was not paying attention during the editing process. Exhaust #4
i really enjoy the remark axelbacks
From other videos, I though Remark sounded better than the Nameless. Not a popular opinion?
I wish TOMEI made a quad tip for the wrx/sti.
Me as well
Which one has the good sound and not too loud exhaust?
not true comparison as long as you test them on the same car same tune and use same recording device
In the first clip, how the exhaust kinda had a little hesitation. Is that normal?
Grim speed or nameless sound good
I really want to get an exhaust for my WRX but these sound awful. The new motor just doesn’t sound good.
They sound bad I had a Hawkeye with an invidia n1 sounded amazing
My question is, what do u recommend
Joe BoomBots tomei
Which is the quietest? I live in Calif :(
Don't be a bitch bitch
I’m going to be getting a wrx soon but idk what exhaust to get
The new sti still has the rumble because it has unequal length headers
Honestly, it’s not that the exhaust sounds bad, it just doesn’t sound like a Subaru. It’s so out of place, it bothers me
I just loove the burble on a wrx
Tomei with a catted jpipe is the way to go
All this exhaust will work on automatic too right ??
I LOVE the performance benefits of ELH, but I hate how I lost the rumble😭😭😭 If only I could get away with muffler deletes but I wont pass inspection...
Stopped watching when you post top wrx exhausts then showed the STI... smh
1:10 is the only car with the boxer rumble
Which specific one is the subiespeeds exhaust ? Invidia N1 dual?
Is only the sound that makes them 'the best' or is it other things like longevity, not rusting out, quality of the welds, quality of the pipe, fitment. Super subjective but I guess they are all okay.
Why does the black Subaru with the cobb exhaust sound like an evo?
thanks
1st one good
Which Subaru should I get. I'm still debating. 8 want a 1988. But the 2017 looks sick as hell. But the 2011 looks sick too. Help mee
x Doodlez x 2011
You can't afford any so why did you ask?
Tomei all day!
So I'm running muffler delete nameless axleback and it's maybe medium to high loud. Could I get the same sound from a cat back? That Cobb loud sound similar but Idk the setup
WRX CREED just straight pipe fam
ETS for me
Comment what kind of videos you'd like to see next!
You think I could install bolt ones then a tune or tune first .¿
Bolt ons then tune
on the Cobb what's the thing that makes the engine rep revs when its idling "run num num num..." what is that?
Launch control
@@B86RZ but if u watch the Ken block videos his car makes the same noise when he is drifting around buckets. so is there some kind of drift control too??
I say the grimmspeed sounds the best
I like the cobb...
Next vid add the borla s type.
How about Borla S type
1:03 was a real STi ....You can hear that
Based on what I've heard... I am most likely going GrimmSpeed catted & resonated from the turbo to the tail. Can anybody here comment on whether this will have a drone at normal cruise (75 mph or so)?
forgot tomei
stepsonhens Tomei and ETS are #1 i have the 3" ETS extreme w/resonator and catless J-pipe. 👌🏼 i want to get the Tomei catback next
Just make fart sounds with your mouth.
Cobb & ets best sound
no remark?
I think ets sounds the best
I got the ETS if anybody wants more vids for more reference lmk
no tomei?
I don't like any of these, I'll stay with tanabe concept g blue turbo back exhaust that I have on my 05 sti. Since tanabe doesn't seem to make one for the 15+ sti I'll have to have a shop fabricate one for me.
borla and MAP were???
Wtf where is Tomei?
Anyone know best exhaust that are not super loud I have a 2017 wrx Sti and I don’t want super loud exaust
Stock exhaust..
18pluskiddo no shit 😂 I just need something a little louder than stock
Fully cattless Nvidia exhaust cattless headers, uppipe, downpipe and custom straight pipe from downpipe back that has no resonator or muffler that shouldn't be too loud for ya
Cobb is best if you want better sound but not an increase in volume.
@@703Bugeye
Yeah that's not too loud. From about a mile and a half away.
Invidia r400 all day!!!
No wonder so many people have transmission problems.
Q300 for life
Tyler Savin I have it on my 08. It was quiet until WOT which is what I wanted. Now that the packing is pretty much gone it's loud AF. Sounds like a rally car. Then again I have header back exhaust and after market everything.
Yea that's exactly why I like it. How long did it take to lose all the packing? Or did you pull it out?
Tyler Savin I didn't remove it but after about a year I noticed it getting louder and droning. Now it's a beast on cold start.
Wow really? I've had mine for over a year and don't notice any difference really. Sure you don't have a leak somewhere?
Tyler Savin positive I don't have a leak. I've heard this from a few other people on the subie forums too. Not a big deal though.
Where's borla? 0 drone and literally sounds better than all 5 :/
3:23
Invidia is too quiet
I actually thought it had one of the more interesting sounds though... like a laser or something, lol. If a laser had a sound.
Wait I thought the newer Subarus weren't boxers
They are boxers.
Invidia suena genial!! Pero es costoso
They all sound the same, just do a muffler delete and you good
Some of us live in California 😔
These cars just don't make sense anymore when you can get a 6.4l RT charger or challenger for the same price. If you have to have AWD you can also get a lightly used Jeep SRT for 30k. 4 cylinder motors are for sport bikes and the European Union
Looks like comms exhaust
The more I listen to it the more they sound like fucking civics
Cobb
