Is The Facelift Porsche Taycan Turbo S Any Good? First Drive!

- Very excited to finally get our hands on the new Facelift Taycan Turbo S!
This thing is rapid - not far off the uber limited GT version, which is even more madness!
0 to 124mph in 7.7 seconds - not bad for an EV. We'll take the car out for a test drive, try the push to pass feature and the launch (which hurts).
We'll also take a good look round the exterior and interior!
Hope you enjoy, thanks for watching.

Hi.
I tried the Turbo S 2 weeks ago............
Wow! It flies over the Autobahn constantly also upon 220 km/h!
Had that contact with an AMG 63 GT R but he couldn't beat me up to 270 km/h. He took a bite of his steering wheel of frustration... 😅😅😅
Sure it is under the Taycan GT the most expensive car, but if you take all options on the underbody you get an extremely fast sportscar with fantastic driving!
And! At 270 km/h i had a consumption of 33 kWh only!!
So the new Taycan is way more efficient than the older one. Combining with the 105 kWh battery you get significant more range! 👍 👍 👍
If you want it, just get it!
Our 4S Cross Turismo has to stay for 5 to 6 years before we change it... 😉
Take care! 👈 ✌️ 🙋🏼♂️
Thanks Joe. Yeah, I think things will have come on even further in 5 years's time right? It's a long time for new developments to take shape!
@@TABonTV sure. ✌️
Agree. I’ll be keeping my 2022 CT TS (which is already a fantastic motor) for amother year or so whilst this new model beds in before I update. I never have confidence in new models as prefer to use a car rather than being in the garage… fortunately in HK they hold their value much better 👍
Nice review. An impressive upgrade. It’s now over 100kg lighter than the new BMW M5! The 320kwh charging to 65% is key for road trips. I think Active Ride could be a key option for U.K. roads. What did you think of the cloth seats, and would you have them over leather?
Thanks! Yeah for me the synthetic interior was pretty good! I do like the cloth design too, pretty retro. Leather might still just take the lead though.
Reminds me of my old GSXR1000 - technically awesome and mind blowing speed. However pointless on most roads in the world where you can't press the accelerator (twist the throttle) for more than 2 seconds without breaking a multitude of laws!! I downsized my bike and have more fun and I'd get the 4S Taycan instead and actually have fun using it. But on a few rare occassions you'd wish you had the full fat one....
Yeah - bikes are a whole other level. I have 2 and they just keep going... You have to remember they don't stop as well too!
@@deputydd4364 You are absolutely right about that. There is 100% truth when people say less power is more fun.
Yes the acceleration is amazing, but it's over immediately unless you want to risk jail. And I mean JAIL in 2 seconds. They are that fast.
Would love to see your review of the new model 3 performance.
Maybe one day soon!
Another great video TAB! Looks like I’ll go for a test drive.
Most likely will go for the previous one and buy it at a depreciated rate. But speak to my accountant first…
Thanks - yes, I can't accept any responsibility for financial losses.😆
I'll decide to buy two years later when the price drop to 50%😅
Fantastic car. I feel sorry for people who have never driven a Porsche....
That feeling.....
Now if we could get the depreciation situation under control I'd actually consider purchasing one.... Not taking a 50% haircut for 10,000 MI. I'll keep my gas Turbos.
Gas is the way to go right now
@@TABonTV Straight Turbo Panny for me. No hybrids. Although the panny hybrid is THE hybrid. 🫳🏻🎤
Taycan is nice. But I'm not ever buying one. After the panny it's a classic 911, maybe a turbo. That's the car to keep.
Great video
I currently the same one as you the 2020 Turbo S Taycan. Would you opt for the new one or stick with your current one? I feel the price is simply too much to switch into.
Yeah, your feeling echoes mine, unfortunately it just does not make sense right now.
@@TABonTV mine is really growing on me. They are special cars that we currently have and I think we should appreciate what we have. How long do you think you will keep yours for?
@@TABonTV is there way I can contact you direct to chat about the Taycan. Thanks
@@sirz258 sure, add me on IG then DM me 👍🏻
I'd be surprised if even 1% of all Taycans make it onto a track. Don't fall into the trap of judging what is the best road car on a track, I'm sure Porsche would love for everyone Turbo S models because they don't run out of juice over 100mph. But as far as I'm aware you're in the UK and highest legal speed limit is 70 mph. Judge what car is the most fun to drive between 0-100 mph, that's the real benchmark.
Yeah, you're probably right there, but I'd be in that 1% for sure. Would be rude not to!
Hi, can you do acceleration when battery SOC bellow 20% and when battery SOC is 90% to see how much power loss when battery SOC is lower than 20% on the new Turbo S facelift.
There's no rule, depends on temp etc, so it can vary when it decides to restrict power
@@TABonTV I think a lot of people want to see this test. 0 - 60mph and 60mpg-130mpg at battery 90% of SOC and at 10% of SOC and keep the same temperature for 90% and 10% of SOC.
The new front (both types) have grown on me. Strangely, i like the rwd and 4s better, it reminds me of a shark somehow :) I thought i would miss the teardrops. but it fits the car and it still has the "look" :)
Yeah - it does have the look - for sure 👍
Beautiful car but the problem now new model or previous the depreciation is extreme, the Tycan loses 60+% after just 2-3 years … makes no sense to buy one new unless you have money to throw away
Great for used though!
That's exactly why I'm stoked to buy a lightly used one in a number of years.
@@TABonTV Definitely 👍
@@snakeeyes9246 Totally Agree however essential you make sure any used one has all the manufacturer updates on it and make sure it has a warranty left on it or if not consider buying one. The early versions of the car are full of manufacturing faults including batteries that can catch fire. Therefore, it’s essential any used one has had all the modifications, buy only from a dealer 👍
@@CliffPrice-fe9bl I am fully aware of that. I won't bother with the original one though. It will almost certainly be one of the new facelifts once they start to lose value.
With the power that has you will be lucky to get 200 miles
If you take it easy it'll do way more. The hard bit is taking it easy 😆
@ 💯 what are beautiful car ,Porsche never disappoint
To be honest, I’ve put up with 100 miles to drive it 😂
"Porsche is dialling back production of the Taycan, shifting operations at its Zuffenhausen plant from a two-shift to a single-shift schedule reportedly due to dwindling demand for luxury electric Vehicles”.
Yes, spoke about that on my last video, not a great sign - but probably needed given the glut of gen 1 cars out there.
What color is it? Black or dark blue?
Jet black metallic which has blue flecks
@@TABonTV That’s pretty cool
Nice but I still prefer Macan EV
Even though with bigger battery than Macan, the range seems lower when Macan 4 has 381-mile range, and Macan Turbo just a little lower 🤔
Yeah, because they're not as powerful do don't pull as much ⚡ from the 🔋
The Macan is a totally different car.
You can't compare the Taycan with the Macan!
The Macan never gets the same power! But 8f you have 2 kids and a dog or two and wish going from Scotland to Italy for 2 weeks, it might be a good idea to take the Macan. 😉
Else is it just your Usecase to decide the right car 🚙 👈✌️🙋🏼♂️👍
@@joevandura9625
Going from Scotland to Italy for 2 weeks sort of thing is exactly what I'm looking for, and no kids, no dog :)
0-60 measure in breakneck speed is not that appealing for me. Macan does it in under 5 sec, it's good enough for me as in London where I live, the speed limit is frustrating 20mph.
And who is going to go superfast every time from one stop light to another with the back full of groceries or toddlers in child-seat, and speed limits everywhere?
Bet your happy you didn’t order a GT
I heard there's now only about 10-12 coming to the whole of the UK. Wonder if that's because demand is 📉
@@TABonTV that’s very interesting info I wondered on the sales interest. I see gt3 rs is still selling £100k over list.
Would never buy an electric sports car
