Why would you want to buy a Taycan

What happens when you launch before the product is ready. Classic example. The new Taycan (J1.2) is what they should have launched in the first place. The J1 is so poor an EV it's laughable. (6 year Model S owner 2 year Taycan owner). Fantastic car though and I love driving it, just wish it had a Model S battery!!! What are we up to now? **Three** Taycan battery recalls??

Thanks for the review! I found a certified one here in the states (2022, 4s). I test drove it and purchased it for $65k out the door with 35,000 miles. Haven’t had any issues yet, fingers crossed.

I got mine new 2003, fully loaded in Dubai, the dealer handed it to me during the Dubai motor show, she was on display along with the McLaren SLS. She has an F1 pack (from new, limiter upped to 185.) Silver with red interior. Midlife crisis time :-) I wasn't really into cars more of a bike lover. There was simply nothing else around that you could cruise to the shops in and then let it take you at crazy speed, the Ferrari just seemed so stressful to drive in town and also fundamentally I wanted to proper convertible. I simply love the sound of MI13K (rated that year as the best sports engine at the time the car was awarded the fastest automatic), I think she looks more beautiful today then ever, I took her to Brooklands this year for the German car day and even the guys from Mercedes world were all over her. I've had a chance to give her full steam ahead twice, never felt the limiter but twice the very accurate speedo was showing 190 and she was still pulling, it got there so quickly it was like a PS4 game, unreal. Also I think they were noted from doing a standing start to 180 in 34 secs, as a biker I couldn't help myself at the lights giving it full throttle when next to a litre sports bike. Whilst a bike could for sure beat it at 0-60, they really had to be prepared for it, but the SL55 with its traction control, it was just a case of flooring the pedal, so many bikes riders amazed as they left behind. Mine has been with me in Dubai, NL and Spain, now cosy in the heated garage in the UK with under 35k miles, cant wait for the Spring to come (she's never been in the rain :-) ) luckily no real issues so far apart from two of the 19" split rims started making a horrendous clicking noise, so had to change them. Love the cabin it makes me feel special and if there's a chance to blip it, it just gives me a big smile.

If they are so great, why are there so many low mileage cars for sale? Because if you have several car/trucks in your garage and you don’t know if that thing is charged, your classic 911 sounds so much better, then you never drive that thing. After a year or two, you trade it to get your wife a Mercedes wagon.

Had mine a few months now and it's incredible. I couldn't care less if it's classed as a proper GT car or not, it means nothing to me. I also couldn't care less about depreciation but it's nowhere near as bad as people think. GFV at 4 years is about £100k loss, tax man gives you £25k back so that's £75k over 4 years, £18,750 of company money per year. No brainer and worth every penny. My worst depreciating car, McLaren 650S Spider. £273k to £100k in 5 years 😮

Yes ok. I'm about 6 months into my Purple Sky Ty Turbo GT, new from Porsche Swindon. It's fantastic. The best ev out there and a masterpiece of engineering. There's always something to worry about later on that day of reckoning. I'll postpone those concerns until later. Enjoy the now & worry later. I'd have another. As to whether it's rightfully a GT car; couldn't give a fig. Simon

I just fucken floor it and cruise at 110mph in the fast lane then I’m not part of the issue of traffic buildup cuz I’m fucken gone and all the issues are behind me. At that speed I don’t add to any congestion or slow anyone down at all ever in any way

Good news! The penalty for lane hogging in the UK is £100 fine and three penalty points on your driving licence.

It madness that if you drive at 68mph in the left lane you commit an offence if you drive passed some dickhead in the middle lane doing 50 mph. (Assuming all lanes are empty for 1km either way).

It should be no surprise to any Taycan or ev owner. As a 4s owmer myself its totally gutwrenching and i would never buy any ev that is so expensive ever again. And no, its jot a proper GT.

I've stopped being surprised at how many lane 2 and 3 hogs I undertake just doing 70 in lane 1. And before the "undertaking is illegal" mob jump in, undertaking is not illegal if you're doing the speed limit.
