This is a great video, very clear and concise and interesting, so I paid attention more than I usually do with many other videos... not yours of course, this is only the second I have seen from you, about making the interior! Im 68 and used to be quite good in the hobby prior to switching to acrylic paints and using an air brush. Then I had to stop the hobby for a while because of the need to take close care of my late wife, and the mourning after she passed away. I want to thank Teasing Harmms and Mr. Lewis from Guntruck Studios for encouraging me to get back in the hobby. Now I am trying to relearn my former skill set needed to make myself happy with builds. You are at the right place and time in electronic terms! Keep those electrons flying! I would love to know about some of the tools you are using especially that micro drill for those very small drill bits and the rubber or plastic holder which fits on those small drill bits. Thanks. Also, I am unable to follow your link to your Facebook page, I am blocked.
Hey Cliff. Thanks for joining in again. You will have some degree of muscle memory, so I’m sure once you start it will all come flooding back. Try to enjoy the process rather than the result. I’ve posted the chisel on the YT community page…and the rotary tool and micro drill bits were just cheapies off eBay. I’ll try and be mindful to show them in more detail in coming videos. So glad we’ve crossed paths and I can be part of your come back 😃🍀
Greztings my friend, that turned out absolutely perfect, you donea excellent job cutting the hole on the side, congratulations on a job well done, looking forward to the next update, best regards from a Kiwi living in Melbourne 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the shout out mate. 😊 Definitely more inspiration than intimidation. Your results certainly show that a little extra effort in research and time,, as well as utilising such an extensive list of tools and textures is well worth it in the end result. I guess it comes down to personal preference on the effort you put in and the reward of how satisfied you are with the results. Your passion comes through in your vids and can take pride in your work and results. Looks amazing. Keen to see further instalments,.
Gonna be great to see it finished! Looking at the final result in this video knowing all that stuff is inside is so cool. Your attention to detail is quite amazing! :)
Hi Clayton! I have been enjoying this series on the Hetzer, and this instalment did not disappoint. The interior of the Hetzer looks amazing, and the additional details you have added to the exterior really makes a difference. I’m not sure I would have the courage to cut a huge hole in my model as you have done here, but it certainly gives the interior a chance to shine, and after all the work you put into it, I guess it’s worth it. I made a comment on the previous episode that I wasn’t sure that I would go to all the trouble to build an interior, just to cover it all up upon completion. However, in your reply you encouraged me to give it a shot, and to that end I have been building a Takom ‘Bergepanzer’ (sic), and I have to admit that I am enjoying the challenge. At least with this model, most of the interior will be visible when I am done. I will certainly be trying another interior in the future, so I have to thank you for your advice. Looking forward to the next Hetzer episode mate. Cheers for now from a fellow Aussie!
I can’t begin to tell you how happy that makes me 🤩 Sharing this hobby, encouraging people to grow and connecting this community is a privilege. Thanks for getting amongst it 🍀
I'm more than happy to receive, I'm great detail, as much technique as you're willing to share. the visual medium is a fantastic resource for really seeing how these techniques are applied, so I appreciate your efforts.
Thank you so much. There’s nothing like actually seeing some of these techniques rather than just text and pictures- so hopefully it’s adding some value for everyone 🍀
Brave of you to do a cut away, but after the effort and work you put in - why not ? Many tips and lessons here Clayton a valuable resource for all. Also I do like the thoughts you share at the wrap up stage. There is no short cut to success and time and effort will always pay off as you demonstrate here. Another great episode on this Hetzer looking forward to the next episode. Cheers from the UK. Looking forward to the Rugby WC Mate ?
I’m pleased people are actually watching these vids to the end. I put a bit of thought into those conclusions so really appreciate you referencing that. Unfortunately Australian Rugby is in as good a shape as the English campaign to retain the ashes… 😮 too soon? 🫣🤭😉. I’m actually a rugby league guy…or at least whilst the wallabies suck so badly! Thanks for joining in Steve 🙏
I don’t think magnets are necessary if you wanted to leave the roof as removable as it just snugly sits in place. In saying that I’ve never tried the magnet thing. Appreciate your comments 💪🍀
@@workbenchhobbies4316 Magnets usually serve more the purpose of keeping parts from rattling parts around when the item gets handled or transported. Otherwise, of course a snug fit is often enough.
Hi Clayton - I'm working on the Academy 1/35 Hetzer at the moment and have been loving this series! I've made the larger grab handles from copper wire (from stripped house wiring) but can't source the fine lead wire you used for the smaller handles. I'm thinking of using finer copper wire for them as well. Maybe stripped automotive wiring... thanks and keep up the great work mate. Learning a lot from you! Cheers James
Hey James. Solder wire should do the same thing as lead wire. Solder would be available at your local hardware. Hope that helps 🙏 Best of luck with the build 🍀
Yeah, and then buy a set of aftermarket tracks. That’s significant modification isn’t it? It’s not impossible, it just takes a lot of time and money. Thanks for joining in. Appreciate your comments. Thanks for joining in 🙏
Just had a quick look - cant see available here in Australia... 30 euro - so it would be 80-100 AUD but the time it got to me. And..to let you in on a little secret, I have started building the Late version now too... all going to plan will be developing a mask set for it, so will probably be on the hunt for some aftermarket tracks at some point..:)..@@gamedude412
@@workbenchhobbies4316 Id check BNA for Trex studio then. The kit builds a late war skoda factory nearly out the box. If your doing to detail it out the crew hammer is next to the jack holder and the wire cutter and also on the same fender forward of the jack.

when i was a kid i used to model too, paint them and then burn holes in the armor using a magnifying glass to simulate a direct hit. Ofcourse i only did this to the german models 😝
Of course ;) - I have an old video somewhere of a mate and I blowing up and burning models in the back yard. If I ever find it Ill post it for a bit of a laugh. Im sure most of us have blown a model or two up back in the day! Good times. Thanks for sharing
@@workbenchhobbies4316 Ah thanks i did that too with those very small red firecrackers and my wife says im weird, im sure she's not wrong 🤭 Another trick i used to get some "damage" on the model was to open up a firecracker to get the powder out, put some on a model and light it. Great effect...🤫
I am enjoying this Hetzer series. Just received the Takom Late production (taken by the whitewash boxart!). Could you tell me where to source the hobby chisel you use, I'm in the UK. Thanks for the tips and explanations. I've subscribed to your channel 👍
Thanks so much for the subscription. Its appreciated. The chisel was bought a long time ago.. and it was either from a hobby show or BNA.. but can't really recall. I had a look on Amazon though, and this looks to be a really nice set. Might actually get this for myself too - amzn.to/3Pp605j Thanks again for joining in
That looks good that! I got the Gecko kangaroo yesterday but want the Hetzer jsut not sure what one! I'm sure I hear the late.was.a command vehicle and inaccurate its missing some radio's? I must say I'm really not sure on this?
Welcome to the channel. That Kangaroo looks fantastic! I'll look forward to hear how you go with it. Re the Hetzer - in terms of a model its very good - excellent in fact, but yes, there are some accuracy issues. I've tried to point out the ones I have been made aware of in the videos. I believe the 'late' one is the most accurate of the lot, however it does include the comment radios but none of the exterior detail in needs to be able to use them.. so most people are just leaving that bay of radios on the left hand sponson out. Hope that helps :)
Takom put a radio set into the left sponson that shouldn't be there. You removed it and put storage trays instead - good move. But those two devices up ahead, the red and yellow boxes? They are the power supplies for the radio! They wouldn't be there either. As far as I can see, Takom referred to a badly restored vehicle instead of researching the original.
Hello again. Yeah, figured that was the case but it is what it is and too late for me to change. Put it down to a lesson learnt. Appreciate you joining in 👍
Yes, they seem to have missed a few ‘details’ didn’t they? I guess in this day and age you can’t get away with it like you used to. Peoples subject knowledge is so vast now, and access to information is available. Agree with you about rushing the kit to market. It’s a shame, but it’s a business, so they are just trying to make sales. I think for 95% of modellers they wouldn’t care about the accuracy issues…but once you know you know I guess. Appreciate you joining the chat 🍻💪
