You're a lucky man, Andy! You made your hobby your profession! It's pretty amazing what great progress tanks have taken from WW I to WW II and in the long time after. Somehow I start to like these "mansions on tracks". Will we all get to know if and when you'll be shipping outside the US? Kutgw! Greetz from Germany. :) Jens
I am a Retired English Police Officer living in Oklahoma. My Grandfather Served in the First World War in the Royal Tank Corps (Mk IV's). I still have his "Service Record" and his "De-Mob" papers. Really considering making the "Male" version of this Tank in his honor, shame they are in such short supply at the moment. Thanks for a great video.
Greetings andy. About About a month ago I got a model u505 from msi in chicago and from when this video is posted I'm 11, but really inch to modeling and I have seen a lot of your videos, and it really got me into getting model tanks, planes and I just ww2 stuff. So thanks for the amazing content keep up the work
Here we are.. Just put a like on every build video you put online haha Thanks a lot for sharing your passion and your tips with us ! I wish I had an airbrush ..
I hate myself for being excited to be the 1000th like! Anyway, from one miniaturist to another, one giant (but very small) high five! BRAVO (I am making a scratch-built steel version of a similar British Tank for a short film, so this was very useful). Thank you, and keep up the great work.
I'm looking for this mk 1 now after building the takom mk4 2 in 1 special edition kit! Its stunning even the British design tracks are as good in a scale model! Its unbelievable! Shame you don't get much British decals with the mk4 kit you get Loadster that's it rest in German print! But the engli flag looks better painted on so it's a nice personal touch for each British modeler!
Great build of a great model. About six moths ago I've build the Tamiya MKIV male tank. Nice model too, but not so complicated as the Takom. Not a challenge in fact. Real challenges are the Tamiya Dragon U.S. tank transporter and the Italeri M4A3E8 "Fury" tank. First one because of the enormous amount of parts an detail, second one because of poor instructions and very fragile suspension.
The trick is building these in a variety of scales + variants. Work out vanishing points and place models according to size on diorama. Gives huge depth

Great video's Andy keep 'em coming. Had a look at your online store, looks fab. Would love to know when you will add International shipping. You have a couple of kits which I can not find in the U.K.Keep up the great work.
Andy, would you do a video build of the Dragon Panther Ersatz M10 if at all possible please? I'm looking at purchasing this and would love to see you put it together first, and maybe give some thoughts on the original idea and result of the conversion during wwII.
Another great video. Can you ship to Australia? Just checked out your online store, very nice! I saw that you have the Tamiya Churchill Crocodile, I have the older version of this kit, ( I know this is asking a lot) but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, build this so I can build along with you. Cheers
I'm a complete novice at this. The question is not intended to be a criticism, rather some required guidance. Would it be reasonable or not, to drill out the barrels of the machine guns. My eyes keep being drawn to the barrel tips.. Love the few Vids I've watched so far.
@@highflyFinn Thank you for the reply. However it raises more questions. I note that you haven't used Hypodermic needles. 1). The tip of a needle has one bevelled edge. Curious if this affects the concentricity of the hole to the outer diameter of the gun barrel? 2). Is the needle heated up prior to pressing it on the barrel tip? Thanks for your understanding.
I used to build sci-fi models...starships and the like. As a small child I made snaptite WW2 airplanes. But I have always wanted to build a military model or two. Maybe a navy ship but for sure a nice tank model. Can you recommend a good name brand for military models?
I was wondering about that too. What use is the polycap if the shield is glued to the side of the compartment? I had a look at the instructions and noted that the MG-mount is connected to the floor via this polycap.
Hi Andy! Love your videos! You got me back into modelling after so many years since I had stopped!!! One question about this kit, can you tell me if the tracks "roll/work" or if they are fixed? Thanks!
sorry Andy, i probably didn't explain myself correctly. I have been doing this hobby for around 3 months now and I am really starting to go off it because I am yet to produce a model. I have spent hundreds of pounds on the hobby including a vast array of paints and an airbrush and compressor. I'm pretty sure I want to continue but I was just wandering how to stay focused and motivated on your model. Gaming King
GamingKing oh I see, I don't allow myself to start something till Im sure I will finish it, I love painting and weathering , alot more then building, So I build usually less part kits so I can get to painting .
Man I just watched your Thunderbolt video and enjoyed it except for the music. Is that Nutcracker or Swan Lake? I forget. anyway I decided to check this one out next and it has the same music. Bummer
Personally, I think it needs some serious weathering. I also think that the female tank design is just plan ugly. Wagon wheels and all. But the actual tooling and molding quality is excellent. Maybe I'll pick up the male version. Nice to hear about the shop, keep up the great work.
+Mad Cow Rebel oh yes it will be seriously weathered once I figure out the diorama for it , this was more of a build review of the Tank , Thanks for watching.
I love these first world war tanks for their historical value, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to operate, drive and certainly not fight in one these things. Living hell for the crews.
whens the diorama going to be made? I understand that you aren't able to dish out videos fast, as you have to run a store.but if you could get around to it soon,I know alot of us would be very satisfied. I'm looking forward to seeing the way you make the trenches of ww1 look.
No offense to Takom but (I have the MK 1 from both companies) I prefer the Meng Mk 1 better because of the detailed interior and honestly it was easier in my opinion to put together.
16 wheels when this could have been one or two pieces, as this is never going to move in a track mode, this is pointless. But yup, that's model building for you
Yes there were designed with the thought that it would assist in turning. However I will point out the channel Andy uses for some references needed. Search for "The Tank Museum" It is the channel of the Bovington tank museum in England. (the title of the video is "Tank Chats #18 Mark I"

If only I had a shop like yours where I live in the UK. My life would be complete 😊

Very nice build Andy. The hull construction looked a pain but you nailed it
Just acquired the "Tadpole" version of that tank, also by Takom.
Looking foreword to building it, made better by your video
Thanks Andy.

Hi Tamiya and Academy models are two easy to start companies with great detail
thank you
Have you ever built the takom tadpole Mkiv
Do you wash your parts before you cut them from the sprews? also what type of glue are you using?
Dear Andy's hobby, I've looking to buy the takom mk 1 1/35 with trailing wheels and I can't seem to find it on your website please advise
Did they make the model so the turrets could move?
I was wondering about that too. What use is the polycap if the shield is glued to the side of the compartment?
I had a look at the instructions and noted that the MG-mount is connected to the floor via this polycap.
Great build! What's your favorite airbrush?
Is there any chance we could see something like an IDF Centurion or Merkava so you could show off some sand/dust weathering? :)
Hi Andy,
Another great build from you, will you be doing any modern armour in the future? keep going strong.
Les
+Les Thiele I actually might do some modern real soon
a pin vice down the ends of those machine guns for the barrel hole
Can you please build the Tamiya Sturmtiger.
Hi Andy! Love your videos! You got me back into modelling after so many years since I had stopped!!! One question about this kit, can you tell me if the tracks "roll/work" or if they are fixed?

Instead on using glue to hold the wheels in place, you could a small bit of bluetack to hold them.
how lone does it take for that glue you use bond? i use the tube testor and it take awhile. would love to fine the glue you use.
you could do takom 1/35 mk v hermaphrodite. it's quite a unique tank with some male features and female features. I'm considering buying it myself!
gotta love these weird as hell WWI tanks,
You should do more ww1 tanks

Are there any interior kits for this tank?
Most likely from miniart
Andy, do you have any of the Takom Mark 1 Female in stock at the store? Seems impossible to find. Thanks.

Anyone know what the grate is on top for?
to stop grenades from landing on the flat top surface
*Edwards! Get the tank moving!*
I can't get to the site :-(
Nice music...I so hate the vids with hard rock and cursing. Little ears ya know.
I love that song, I hum it all day now lol.
i do like rock, but not as background music in a model making video, this is indeed the best music for modeling
I like that music but not for something peaceful like model building

what makes a tank female
