Fantastic episode on painting the M2A2 Bradley. I can see how your techniques are really bringing this version of the Bradley to life. Just about to watch the second episode. Great work. Mask me up!
Thanks Terry. You won’t recognise it after the next episode! Thanks for joining in and good luck with the draw 🍀🤞🍻
Mask me up! Please. Didn't notice the background change. Until you said. Too busy watching your build. Excellent as always.
Funny you didn’t notice. I seem to be obsessing over it 🫣 Thanks for taking the time to connect and thanks for you kind words. good luck with the draw 🍀
Another great giveaway Clayton!! Looking forward to seeing how you weather it. Definitely prefer the black background 👍👍
Thanks buddy. Looking like black is a clear favourite! Appreciate your input 👌🏼☝️
Very nice job. Look forward to the next stage. The subject here has a lot of points of interest. As far as the background goes, I think it depends on the subject. Dark Russian Green and Panzer Gray will show better on White backgrounds, and desert schemes and NATO White will really show the details on a Black background. This subject kind of works well with both, but since it is mostly Dark Green in the end, the white helps lighten things up to see all the details. I know, you send White or Black and I kind of gave you a well...... you see.... That's what you get when you ask a modeler. Cheers mate!!!
😆😆 you make an excellent point ! I’m going to have a bit of a play around with my setup and see if I can improve some of my results…but maybe it is a case of horses for courses. Always trying to improve 🫣
Thanks for your support 🙏
I prefer the white background. Lovely work on the painting. Maybe I’ll give it a go if you mask me up 😊
Thanks for joining in! Appreciate the feedback. Seems white is making a comeback! Good luck with the competition 🤞
The Bradley is looking a treat Clayton! I haven’t attempted modern armour of any type yet, but this model appeals to me, and I would love to attempt it. I have a few to finish, and due to work, I have not been able to work at the bench for quite a few weeks now, so something like this model may have to wait. I am looking forward to the weathering video on this project.
I also like the black background you have chosen, as the contrast seems to enhance the viewing. Great job as always mate! Cheers for now!😊
Thanks Gary. Sorry to hear work is interfering with your hobby! That sounds very unreasonable to me 😛 Thanks for the feedback on black. Great to see you here again 🙏👍🕺🏽

Thanks Clayton. My workload certainly is a pain in the backside at the moment, but I am self employed, and after quite a dry spell, I have picked up a few contracts that are taking up all my time.
I only have myself to blame I guess, but one has to eat and pay the bills. I don’t have any staff anymore, and I considered myself semi-retired. Then along came Covid, and all developers and construction companies that I work for just went very quiet, and like a lot of people, I am still getting over it.
However, while I might not have any time for the hobby at the moment, I love to see what other guys are doing. Your channel is one of the best mate, and you should be proud of your skill at the workbench, and the content you provide for us to view. I was apprehensive about getting back into the hobby after so many years, and while I had to learn just about everything all over again, channels like yours, and a few others, made it a lot easier for me at the start of my journey, and now are very helpful as I progress and start building presentable models.
Thanks also Clayton, for your encouragement in response to my comments in this section.
Wow, I only meant to write a couple of lines, but I guess I got a little carried away (something my wife tells me all the time when I get another delivery from the hobby shop), so enough for now. Cheers mate!
People like yourself make it all worthwhile Gary. Thanks to you for sharing a little glimpse into your world 🙏
White background for sure! And, please, "Mask me up!". Found your channel via Hyperscale 'What's New'. Appreciate the demonstration, I learned a lot (mostly about what I could be doing better, lol).
That’s awesome! Welcome aboard and thanks for joining in. I think I like the white too! So conflicted 😬😬
Thanks for taking the time to connect 💪🙏
Thanks for sharing, very impressive work of a particularly challenging camo. I love the balance between the diferent colors, it almost reminds me of an abstract painting (which may seem chaotic at first, but the artist put a lot of effort into making it 'balanced' and beautiful. Also very interesting to see models from the current Ukrainian conflict, so expertly painted. Black background (because it's matte, it actually registers as dark grey) allows the camera's auto-exposure to raise the exposure slightly, so darker models show up much better on screen for the viewer. Definitely much better than a white background, which darkens the overall exposure and causes the same dark models to be difficult to see. For light-colored models, the brightening of auto-exposure caused by a black background is not really a problem, unless you are modelling/painting a bright white, glossy mecha or something similar :-) . To get the best of both worlds, maybe a mid-dark grey background would be the best, I think. Of course, if you can adjust the auto-exposure of your camera manually in each case, all the above are irrelevant. 🙂
Fantastic. Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed response. All makes perfect sense. Hope you are enjoying the channel. 🙏
Excellent build and very interesting paint scheme. What you achieve with a black background is the same as with black basing the vehicle. It brings peace and calm to the eyes. Colors ‘pop’ more and in general it conveys a much more professional approach. I’d say keep it black!
Thanks Patrick. Appreciate your insight. Think I’m tending to agree with you. 🙏👍💪
Mask me up Clayton...! Nice work... Bright clean white background I find the best in providing the highest readability and see those subtle colour nuances... Drop in for a cuppa in brisvegas if your in town...
Hey Eddy. Thanks for joining in. I might make it to Qld this year if all goes to plan! Appreciate your support 👌🏼
Black background works for me. Less eye fatigue.
Thanks for your input 🙏🙏 I think I agree with you 👌🏼☝️💥
Very nice paintjob. thx for showing
My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to comment 👍
I've been waiting to see Ukrainian vehicles appear in hobbyist forums. Nice work.
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it. Should go to the next level with the weathering I’ve got planned! Thanks for taking the time to connect 💥
Awesome progress as always Clayton... I've just ordered the kit, so Mask me up!
Awesome! Thank you! You’ll love it. Good luck with the comp! 🕺🏽🙏
I've been looking forward to your follow up on this build ... & it's coming up an absolute treat.
Personally the BLACK background works for me.
So bring on the weathering video sometime soon and in the meantime ... ... Mask me up!
Seems like black is a clear favourite. Early days though! Thank for entering. Good luck 🤞
Great work on that digital camo! To be honest, masking is one of the more "intimidating" things for me (being paranoid of underspill all the time) and I´ve thus avoided such digital patterns so far. Might have to smell some more of those good laquer thinner-fumes before I´m able to muster the courage to do one in 72nd scale 😅 (Note: Do NOT in fact smell the fumes!) My Vespid Leo 2A7+ might need such a digital pattern...
The black background is rather neat as it gives some more focus on the bright highlights added during paintjobs due to the contrast with the dark background 🤔
Cheers from Germany and keep up the great work!
Appreciate it can seem intimidating, but it can be so rewarding too. I’ve made a mask set for the a7+ in 1/35…I based it off that Vespid scheme, so I could scale a set down if you wanted to use it on the 72nd scan kit?
Appreciate you joining in here on the channel 🙏
Hi, enjoyed this type of painting of Ukraine camouflaged scheme, is indeed a "mask me up" kind of style. Looking forward to the next one.😀
Thanks Colin. Let’s see if we can get a set to head your way! Appreciate you joining in 🙏🤩
Great job as always Clayton. Never get tired of watching your work.
Mask me up!!

Hey Carlos. Thank you my friend. Pleased to have you as part of this community 🙏
Excellent job.
This camouflage is very laborious to make.
Congratulations on the result.
Strong hug
Strong hug back! Thank you my friend 🙏💥
Good video with a great template and explanations to all the steps to get a model like yours.
The result speaks for himself. Great job, Clayton.
Best wishes and a nice weekend. Joachim
Hey Joachim. Thanks mate. Hope you have a great weekend too 🤩☝️🙏
Clayton, please mask me up! I prefer the white background instead of the black. For some reason, the black background makes the shadows a bit contrasted with the model. Maybe just my screen brightness or something, but it looks a bit off compared to white. Either way, great work with the masking Clayton!
Yeah, I know what you mean. I think I need to tweak my lighting setup and review the camera settings a little. Appreciate your input 🙏🤩💪
Well done once again Clayton 👍 Regarding the background, either light or dark works for me. I am so focused on the subject that the background is......well, the background 😀
Thanks Jim. Glad you enjoyed it. Think I’m going to experiment with the black and change my lighting position. Always something to learn either this YouTubing thing!
@@workbenchhobbies4316 Agreed Clayton. A friend is urging me to create my own model build videos. I will lean on his experience of making videos for his channel. Anyway, love the work you do Clayton, look forward to more, Jim

It looks wonderful. Mask me up!
You're in! Thank you 🙏
Mask Me Up Please.
Suggestion regarding the background colour; Try using a medium or darkish blue. A bright lime green or grass green or a light turquoise could also work.
These colours will create a calming or relaxed environment or atmosphere but still draws focus on the model or what you are demonstrating. Scientific research in Russia lead to cockpits of military combat aircraft & helicopters being painted in the Russian Turquoise colour as it improved the pilots focus & reactions.
Oh! Interesting insight. I’ll definitely give it some thought. Appreciate you taking the time to share 🙏💪

Very nice paint job. You asked so here you go, black or white background does not matter to me. I am concentrating on the work being performed.
Thanks for your input. Think I need to review the lighting positions and camera setting a little. Wanting to get a better result for these videos. So much to learn! 😮
@@workbenchhobbies4316 Your work is great, IF I am lucky, then one out of ten of my models comes out ok. I will paint and weather the model (armor), then I look at it telling myself I should have used a different shade of sand or tan. I have learned to set the model aside and look at it after a few days with fresh eyes.
Always a great idea. We can be our own worst enemy can’t we? Just try to learn something new or improve one thing either every build and you can’t go wrong 👍
I prefer black back ground in case I miss painting something. Then it just looks like a shadow.
Well….i was actually talking about the colour of the background I’m using to film on, but agree re the black undercoat 👍☝️
Thanks for taking the time to comment
Prefer the white having done a few back and forth. Hope that helps. Mask me up!
Appreciate your efforts in coming up with an answer. I’ve been playing with the camera setting over the weekend and think I’m ready to make my final decision 🫣
Thanks again for your support 🙏
