    Brad....BOTH parties have responsibility in this one. The dealer should have known/disclosed it was 49 state prior to sale.
    The buyer should NOT have made any alterations to the car until the car was legally titled in CA.
    The dealer should agree to take the car back and refund what buyer paid the dealer.
    Asking the dealer to pay for the mods done after sale is not reasonable.
    I understand the buyer wants to keep the car, but looks like CA doesn't make that easy.
    Good luck.

Well they are NOT special and you can walk down any street in San Francisco and see how disastrous these legislators are. This is the buyers fault. It’s called personal responsibility. The dealer did not say it was legal in all states. If you live in California you should know. That they ban stuff allot. Some people maybe got away with registering it. Some people did not. If you are buying an out of state car. With the internet these days. It should be easy to find out. If something is legal in your state.

    • @MeetTheSLAYER

      Actually it is the DEALERS responsibility, it is ILLEGAL for a dealer to sell a car to a CA resident that is not CA legal. The dealer had ZERO business selling that car to a CA resident knowing it is not legal to even register that car in CA. That is on the DEALER.

    • @ocmotivator
      @ocmotivator  9 днів тому +8

      I bought 2 out of state that were 50 state cars. The dealers can order them either way. And dodge sent them out sporadically. A dealer has the obligation to disclose this to an out of state California buyer before doing the deal. This dealer told him 10+ times they sell cars to California “all the time” and it’s no problem. Now they’re hiding from him and have no solutions. Don’t blame the customer. That’s just stupidity talking.

Then at least offer to buy the car back or talk to dodge corporate to get the car California certified with the right sticker under the hood and pay the fee, or offer to cover the costs for the Montana LLC and refund the Ca taxes they collected and didn’t pay. Why didn’t he just ask them if it’s a 49 state car especially the fact dat he lives in Cali. He was so hype to get the car he didn’t ask the right questions I don’t see how it’s the dealership fault maybe I’m missing something

      Because California says that the dealership is required by law to notify the customer.

      If you use your ears and brain together you’d have heard him say that the dealer confirmed multiple times in extreme surety that they sell these cars to Ca “all the time” which was clearly a lie. Cmon folks. Watch and listen before commenting.
