All this talk for something that is as obvious as day and night. Those guys were lapping on a public day und you were in their way. Simplest answer is most of the time the right... Bunch of jerks
It was excessive flashing, and personally I think that the drivers of the two other vehicles in question got lost in an adrenalin fuelled dice I doubt they'll do it again in a hurry.
Egotistical arrogance, intimidation and track bullying = arseholes. Red mist endangers everyone. Behaviours like that incite it. Misha however, is a gentleman.
Some facts regarding the M4 driver: First round of flashing, probably 50+ meters away: 0:06 - 00:09 - Flashes his high beams 15 times Second round, probably 30+ meters away: 0:14 - 0:16 - Flashes his high beams 12 times Third round, probably 15-20 meters away: 0:23 - 0:24 - Flashes his high beams another 6 times, just before the BMW in front starts braking early Fourth round, probably 5 meters away: 0:29 - 0:31 - Flashes his high beams another 13 times All things considered, it is completely inadequate to make the argument it was all done for the purpose of "safety". Hopefully this gets addressed accordingly. P.S. I tried to be conservative with the distance calculations, in reality it could be worse.
If you're flashing lights EXCESSIVELY during touristenfarten you should face a suspension or other penalty. This was very EXCESSIVE and added danger not safety. They were flashing like it was the final lap of the Nur 24!!!
3 blinks with the high beams should be enough to make them notice you are about to pass, no need to flash more then that.... (my experience is one blink is just enough to get their attention and look in the mirror, 2 blinks they only see one and is unsure if you blinked or it was just a bump in the road, 3 blinks makes sure they actually see that you blinked the lights).
which is the exact way this fucking tard drives so stfu all you simp ass pussies.. fucking moron already wrecked a viewer car and still out here complaining about lights ROFL
We've got a nest here or something.. I tell you what. I've had a disco BMW behind me on the Autobahn the other day - while I was behind a slower car overtaking a semi truck. Like I was supposed to dissolve into thin air or something.
@@Bassalicious well duh. The highway royalty has priority! Just do something its not his job to figure out. Push the slower car off the street or something jeez 😤
Flashing going into a braking points from one of the highest speed parts on the track. Like chill, the person in front already has to take care not to crash at 200+ KM/h
Typical BMW driver brainrot. Showing everybody where you are heading by activating your turn-signals is a no go, But constant flashing highbeam is prio number 1.

As many others here, i just saw the other video before I came here. When I watched the other video, I also get, angry immediately. Hearing more about the situation does make the situation worse in my eyes! There was a lot of traffic and these guys are racing like maniacs: NOT OKAY! Stay safe (as possible on track)! What Misha said about the "Straßenverkehrsordnung" is all legitimate. I`m from Germany by the way.
I'm fascinated by the speed Micha goes and how he looks like he's about to fall asleep. He looks so relaxed it's amazing! Still can't see the bit where he lost his shizzle, he looked calm as a calm thing with mild annoyance. He never looks like he's in a flap or out of control, brilliant to watch.
The guy flashing said he thinks this is safer than overtaking without knowing if the other person has seen you. Umm... The type of person that doesn't see you is exactly the type of person who will panic because of your stupid flashing and do something stupid. This also makes it much harder to judge how far back the idiot is, because you are blinded. This is the exact opposite of safe.
What so being within few centimetres of the car ahead breathing down their neck is not going to scare a driver ahead but the flashing will? Be serious...
@@flammenjc This is a public session, you should drive as if it's a public road without a speed limit. No one said you should ride their bumper if you're faster, you need to maintain a safe distance until you are seen (with your left indicator on if needed) and it is clear you are being let past.
Having been flashed by faster cars on the ring, i disagree completely. I found it useful knowing there's someone much faster coming up behind sooner than i may be able to spot in my mirrors normally. On a normal road, yeah id be annoyed. On the ring, nah gives me more time to move over and let them by
he wanted to ''warn you'' that they are there....hahaha yeah of course: nonstop and a freaking 500 times 🤣 That guy was an entitled little brat and shouldn't be allowed to drive on the Ring again, nothing else.
If this were brought to the attention of the police and they charged those two drivers they might actually lose their license, so you may get your wish of this escalates even further.
And that´s how a novice driver doing 200kph could get into panic mode and make a mistake like crashing into another car or overshooting a corner and ending up in the barriers.
Idk dude. Your humility and self awareness is part of you that makes it so guilt free to watch this stuff. Seem like a very reflective and considerate guy. That being said, driving thousands of laps and having a couple crashes doesn’t disqualify you from having valid input on safety. After all, you have something like some 99.8/9% success rate getting around the ring at speed safely. If anything you’re THE guy to offer insight on the matter. Anyone that would call you a hypocrite for such input would be unrealistic imo.
Nikki Lauda had one of the most horrific crashes in history at Nordschleife but had a lot of impact on the safety of racing. Just because you have accidents doesn't mean it's your fault. That is why they are called accidents. Those guys driving like that had no excuse. You are to judge traffic ahead be it in racing or on the road. Not attempt to bully your way through and cause an incident.
@@nitroblueuk Most accidents are avoidable. Accident is just implying it was not intentional. Which is usually the case. Just because an accident is unintentional doesn't mean it's not the drivers fault. People ought to understand that.
@@flammenjc absolutely, but also do keep in mind of the few crashes he had on the ring they were usually by a fault not of his own, which itself is impressive
A couple of weeks ago I came to the Ring for some TF laps in a slower car (125hp suzuki swift). As it was mid-week, most of the traffic was very fast, i.e. BMW Ms and Porsches, so naturally, I was overtaken many times. I can say that maybe 20% of these drivers are overly aggressive, and expect me to disappear even in places where the car is unstable (Schwedenkreuz is a good example). Some even try to squeeze in ignoring my left turn signal. That's really strange attitude for a TF ride.
I agree. I’ll just add that with this approach, there will always be someone faster on the track, unless you're sitting in an F1 or an AMG ONE. If you want to go aggressive, do it within your own class on the track. If it’s a MIXED class, then all classes need to be able to adapt. Faster need to be avare about limits slower car, and slower car must be aware about faster cars and let them pass when possible and safe.
Aggressively flashing at every car is just obnoxious and rightfully triggering and not an act of safety.....Experienced locals with fast cars thinking they have a privilege.
Next video: Misha build for Nurburgring 2025, Lancia Stratos with 16 HELLA spotlights. You only need to flash once if you have the power of the sun in your hands!
That BMW driver overstepped the mark, particularly as it was a public session. He should know you take the ring as you find it and you *share* the road with others. I'd have a lot more respect for him if he simply apologised and said he got it wrong on this ocassion, rather than trying to proclaim he's king of the road. Thank you Misha, informative videos as always.
Conclusion for me (never driven on the ring): I double flash once + blinker on puplic roads if im close enough and can comfortably overtake. These guys tho flashed from lightyears behind and nowhere near enough to overtake and didnt stop even tho they saw you overtaking slower cars. The BMW Duo at the and of the lap showed how it can be done and should be.
09:55 so my take is that you're allowed to drive fast, but you're supposed to be able to react to things happening in front of you also, so if you don't fit your pace to the surroundings around you then you shouldn't be on the track on public days and those guys pushing you out of their way were not fitting their pace to their surroundings
They were really flashing so much, and then I read their comment on instagram thinking they were in the right! Just outrageous, it's a public road! Not a track day or a 24 hour session. if anything a single time flashing would've been more than enough to notify the intention.
Single flash is just enough to get them look in the mirror, 2 flashes and they see the second flash only and is not sure if it was a flash or bump in the road, 3 flashes makes sure they get the message. I always use 3 flashes when I alert a car that I am about to pass.
The dude flashing his Lights like a Disco Strobe was just a menace/dick with all that slower traffic around. Needs to be warned ! Good for you calling him out !
I'm just a sim racing hobbyist that mostly play singleplayer. I appreciate these kinds of videos because it gives context and explains what reality is like and can be.
For novices, the ring must be incredibly intimidating, and those more experienced users should be aware of others. I don't want to be a party pooper, but there should be different track times depending on your ring experience, and every time you do a lap, that should be recorded on a card and sessions should be allocated based on this. Those with little to no track time should be allowed their own session to go out with drivers of similar experience, and then the same for the more seasoned drivers and so on. Also with the speed difference between the different cars/drivers, it's a miracle there's not been many more fatalities, especially with the lack of protective equipment etc. Sorry if this sounds boring, and personally I've never been myself and would love to go at some point, but constantly looking in my mirrors and worrying about being in the way would just completely ruin the laps for me, and not make for a good trip.
Locals trying to bully what they think are noobies (they wouldn't do it if they knew you were the one driving). I've seen you come off the gas on the top speed section because someone cuts in or they don't take the full right lane and yes It might be frustrating but hen you buy a ticket you don't have the "right" to hit top speed there, therefore everyone moves... NO, you have the CHANCE if everything alligns.
What really pisses me off about the guy trying to justify his actions was the fact that there's literally a comment on the lap video from someone that was a passenger in a Z4 (I assume the one with the big wing, which I definitely approve of btw) claimed that this wasn't a one of instance. The comment claimed that they'd done this to basically everyone and not just on this lap, apparently they'd been doing it for 2-3 laps previously. Definitely should be banned from the ring and potentially even have their licenses revoked for a bit.
It's one thing to terrorize a public session where most sane human beings are just chilling and having a good time safely. 'Very good. But brick not hit back.' Let's see these two in the rain at the tail end of a stint trying to desperately defend a position. You don't want to push, but you have to. Perhaps then fear and humility will find them again. In my experience, I see my life in two parts: before pushing +200 km/h in the rain on a sportsbike and after. When you can't really go to sleep normally the same day, you tend to gain a new perspective on things. A very timely and much needed video Misha, thank you for making it. Let's hope these two and others will see the error of their ways, to put it nicely.
@@ItsLukem Not sure what you are watching, but I just counted it in 0,25 speed and it should be like 15 - 17 times in a really short timeframe. Once at 9:20 - 9:24 and then shortly before the overtake.
From my point of view, it's simple. Do you feel faster than the guy in front of you? Put on your blinker. Does it seem like there’s enough space for you to move into the left lane and it's clear that you're at least 5-10% faster? Then go ahead, signal, but do it at a spot where it’s safe for the car being overtaken to ease off the gas, so they have room and won’t end up in a critical situation due to the new line. In this case, the signal came way too early, and I didn’t think the speed difference was that dramatic either. It happened at the least suitable place - one of the fastest corners with an important apex, and during extreme traffic no less. Not to mention Misha had a slower car ahead of him in his lane.
Yeah had people flashing at me at Mutkurve, Pflanzgarten 1 jump and Pflanzgarten 2 within 2 laps...moved out of the way the best I could, but seriously, book a trackday people.
0:28 100% how should u let them pass, when ur aleady behind another car? I dont understand why people like them cant use common sense to understand this simply situation u need to pass the car aswell to let them pass. Its not hard
Also there going into a bend and flashers will need to brake also and if you know how to drive? you can use that slower entrance(Not by much at all)To gain on the exit by a better line. Mind flashers will most likely going into the bend at warp factor 9 and come out sideways or upside down there by spoiling all the others lap. Still there Mum loves them!!! Or as they say Jesus loves them everyone else thinks there a CEE U Next Tuesday!.
I experienced similar behaviour earlier in the year, this was only my second time visiting and it annoyed me equally as much, I totally agree with your comments. its a tourist session, stop behaving like you are racing the 24 hours of Nurburg.
Allow me to say it. The other driver's comment on your reaction is bullcrap. Repeated high-beam flashing, distracts and irritates all the drivers ahead of you. They take their eyes off the road to look into the mirror to see what's going on, to see why is a dude behind them flashing like crazy. So this does induce danger unlike what he says. Also at the point where he was excessively flashing even from far far away, there were a few turns following, where the cars' top speed would be limited by the curves of the track, meaning there is NO possible way for you to let him overtake. Later on, at 0:25, you are following the "racing line" of the circuit which makes complete sense since you're driving at high speeds, and so is the driver in front of you and so is everyone. But that guy still, even in the brake zone at 0:28, KEEPS FLASHING his goddamn lights which is beyond pointless. What are you gonna do? Disappear to let him pass?
Misha ur the best to talk about safety and how to drive properly and even better u could be a great example even the best drivers like u coupd get in an accident.and why everyone should be aware how they drive because if one mistake happens it doesn’t matter how good of a driver u are there will be still a mistake or accident happen
The thing about flashing during a public track day is really stupid imo. For one you're not a GT3 driver so wtf are you evening doing?? if you want to overtake then do it in a place that is safe to do so, not make the driver ahead feel pressured/panicked because of your impatience. And if they've been driving on the ring for years then they should know not to behave like children.
Saw and re-saw the videos. It was a open track day so... Its quite simple You have to give way for faster cars IF POSSIBLE If you are on a faster car YOU HAVE TO BE PREPARED for the frustracion of having a not so correct driver in front... Breathe... Roll your eyes... And breathe again The diference between a good and a bad driver is the capacity for not "loosing is shit" They did... And so did you. Shouldn't be so agitated by them. Remember ... Breathe... Roll eyes ... Breathe Love your videos and Im glade you made this one. The final objective of driving a car fast as f*** is to enjoy... And get to your loved ones safe and in one piece. 😊
As long as you have enough self control to still drive safely and within the law whilst angry, I think it's fine to feel anger. It's a valid and natural human emotion, and completely blocking all anger from your life, even when people are doing things that quite frankly SHOULD illicit anger, is actually pretty unhealthy, just as being angry all the time is also not healthy, and if he had made this video also still angry I would probably be on your side. However it's one of our primary tools to avoid people walking all over us when they don't have our best interests at heart, just like these drivers didn't have mishas. It's also a way of conveying the importance of info in safty critical times when someone is about to make a highly dangerous mistake and you have to stop them (there are also many other valid situations and reasons where the emotion anger has it's place, being out of control angry is different from feeling anger but still being in control, two very differant states of being). Now if he started purposely not getting out of the way or something once it was safe because of his anger, fine you have a point. But he drove his car in the exact way he was suposed to regardless of how he felt, and to me THAT is what makes a great driver, as we are all humans and all suseptable to these things called emotions, and all emotions are valid and have a place and a reason why they exsist to begin with. Also it's not that this is a normal road where some annoying person is just that, annoying. It's actually highly dangerous to flash and distract drivers infront of you at 200+mph, and considering Misha spends SO SO much of his time preaching how to be safe on the NB ring, I can see why something like this, from such supposed experianced, and regular drivers of the ring would cause anger. He already knows these cars, he knows they should know better, and he knows had it not been him or someone with his experiance, and the flashing had forced a weaker driver to break a safe line and move out the way, it very well could of been ANOTHER of the 4-5 accidents that had already happened on that day alone, one of which someone may of lost their arm in and was airlifted to hospital as a result of!
Hi, unfortunately I was one of those who had an accident on Saturday and was flown to the hospital by helicopter. I have been driving on the Nürburgring for several years now and I can only say again and again: yes, it is a race track, but you shouldn't overdo it...
Micha, you are absolutely right, we must be aware of the fact that there are other drivers with us who have faster cars and better control, but we need to take care not only of ourselves but also of other drivers
Constantly flashing lights is a dangerous distraction to car in front, especially if driver is not at a high skill level of being around other vehicles at high speeds like Misha. The Bmw and Porsche drivers were racing each other and impatient and thought they owned the track. And that Porsche was far to close to Bmw at those speeds.
Reading comments here totally agree with misha, for many people its the experience to drive there and push a bit. Many crashes have happend because of a fast car approaching aggressive and forcing the tourist to make room for him and do stupid moves to lose control. After seeing this and being many times there it makes more sense to me that if it continues like this and becomes more a problem track prepper cars should not be allowed on TF. In the netherlands during vrij rijden on assen/zandvoort there are classes like, tour and sport. In the tour class more dailys and less experienced drivers. Sport more the track prepped/experience drived. In the tour class its not allowed to enter with a rollcage, Tour can can join the sport class. perhepas Nurburgring should also work with entering hours for non prepped/prepped cars
Here in the UK flashing lights at all, for instance to let someone who is incoming through, is frowned upon, and if you cause an accident by doing so it will be your responsibility. As to speed and being able to stop, you should be able to come to a stop within the sighted distance, ie within the distance you are able to see.
I understand you so well, mate. Similar driver in the vid I add the link for below. Same car brand. Coincidence? I don't think so. Began flashing hundreds of meters before he even reached me (rear cam view) and when I let him pass (too late for him obviously) he sends me into the off by purpose. We don't need such drivers on The Ring... Link, video starting at the point: ua-cam.com/video/9J9-du4du8o/v-deo.htmlsi=xrw4SWZNISkfoSjc&t=307
Two ‘regional’ high beam experiences. In New York (suburbs) .. when approach a slower driver in the left lane, who DID NOT notice you for 30-60 seconds.. it was customary (still is?) to flash your high beams (no more than 2-3 times) .. to alert them you want to pass. The driver ahead often politely moved to the right, and both drivers mutually respected each other. In Connecticut .. one state over, the opposite occurs. Many slow drivers in the left lane ‘refuse’ to move right and cause long traffic back-ups. This results in others to pass on the right, leading to more accidents. When approach them, and use 2-3 high beam flashes, they respond with a ‘disrespectful’ middle finger, and continue to back-up the traffic flow.
The standards of driving on the ring have gone to shit, to be honest driving standards round the world have. A little flash no issues but constantly doing it when you can’t move is pointless and pathetic. We need more of these educational videos
Kindov, but I do recall videos of folks driving in the 70, toppeling out from their summersalting automobiles along with what I can imagine was their office work, it was kind of funny because no one got hurt and the speeds were drastically reduced than now, I think a lot of people should just be content with computer game versions of this iconic track. Everyone who wish to use it drive safely they don’t call it widow maker for nothing.
As someone who's totaled a car while traveling at high speed, I agree 100%. Once you've lost control you're best option is to protect yourself the best you can! Truth be told, I even let go of the wheel when sim racing cause 12-13nm of force with added weight to the wheel thru settings is brutal
Thanks for this explanation mate! Kept your head well. I agree with your sentiments on your behaviour, you do drive very fast and borderline too aggressively but you never harass other drivers, you always leave room and are very cautious when you see a difficult multicar situation. Driver education for the regulars is completely acceptable, they know better but they’ve been allowed to behave badly. Reaffirming the rules, and the etiquette, is absolutely necessary. Keep up the legendary work. 20 year from now our kids will be watching an NSX and 22B driven by the same benchmark guy around the ring, just like us watching Climbdance.
The other two BMW's just flashed aswell.. the one directly behind you at entry and exit of Hohe Acht. And the second bmw had its highbeams on all the time.
Even on trackdays you can get similar nonsense and sometimes people expect you to get out of the way in places where suddenly moving off the racing line is actually quite dangerous. One or two flashes if you’re closing on someone fast is forgiveable but can still be distracting for the driver in front.
The whole situation gave me the feeling, when I was waiting behind a bus (the bus was in the bus stop) on a 1 lane road and couldn't overtake it because people were coming in the other lane. The gramps behind me was flashing his lights and throwing hands while tailgating me for 300 metres... people are crazy
I was going to overtake a car in the second overtaking lane on the motorway (3 lanes, 2 for overtaking). Only 3 cars in eye's distance, me, a car a fair bit back, and this car just driving down the middle lane up ahead that I was planning on overtaking. I was going 10-15mph faster than them, I was in the lane to their right (the correct lane where I am as we drive on the left hand side of the road), and with maybe 2-3 meters from the tip of my car to the back of theirs, without indicating they just suddenly pulled infront of me! OFC you can't shed 10-15mph in 2-3 mtrs without locking up the wheels, which I did whilst blaring the horn, and avoided running into the back of them as a result, however I had a new problem and my car was starting to vear towards the concreet venter divider of the motorway and I was in a heavy skid. I had to jerk the car left to change the direction of the skid, but there was also a car about 10-20 mtrs back in the center lane also breaking heavily, so I had to correct and bring the car back to stright all whilst the wheels were locked up and dam near spun out (I was almost going sideways at one point!), but luckily I just caught it and got her stright just before I would of lost control and spun. Some people are flipping crazy I swear. They had no reason to move over. Unless it was an attempted insurance job, but who TF in their right mind does that at motorway speeds?! I think they were just mad I was overtaking them and wanted to teach me a lesson or something crazy like that. I mean I was kind of in their blind spot when they moved over, but they had no reason to move, the road was 100% clear ahead and they had all three lanes and had bee crusing in the middle lane from the point I could see them in the distance till the point I tried to pass them. I was blaring my horn from the moment they started to move over and not once did they even slow down their manuver. Thinking about it still keeps me up some nights.. and it was over a decade ago it happened! It was so close to me wrecking out badly, like so so close! I'm really dang careful when passsing cars these days as a result, as it proper shook me up, but what gets me though is there's nothing I could of done to avoid it more than I did! My dad always used to tell me "It's not your driving you need to be careful of, it's every one else's on the road", and that's so true!
100% right here Misha. As you say It's not a race it's the last lap of the day there's a tonne of cars and no need for that sort of driving flashing is distracting and continually flashing is aggressive and could cause the other driver to panic unnecessarily those drivers need to get a grip and if their not happy go on another day with less cars.
Maybe if some people get confused between living near the Ring with owning the Ring then they should take a break until their egos can return to a safe size.
This rings back to your upload from a couple weeks ago with stateside and the M2. The driver of that car did a LOT of flashing and indicating left in that lap and I wish you called out on it.
Good point. Would have been a bit weird for him to say anything at the time but tbh awkwardness can be avoided if you say it right eg bro don’t flash people you’ll distract them wait for an indicator or a better chance to pass
Great video. I don't think you get enough credit for your skill and demeanor. Thanks for giving us a better understanding of the things that can happen on the ring.
IMO, flashing once or twice when you're close proximity were ok. But both the M4 & GT3 RS were flashing since long distance away, and for quite a long time. I don't see the reason to do this, because this is not a competitive situation, and overtaker are one that make sure overtake should be safely manner, not the other car(s).
There's people who do this at my local track in the US, absolutely boils my blood. I do the same thing too, get in the way and don't let them pass just to spite them. Last year in the paddock the guy comes up to me and says "didn't you see my flashing like crazy". I told him no sorry 😆🤣
People flashing think they are entitled and better than others. That triggers me too. Everybody has paid for their lap. You are not better than anyone else. This BMW guy was overdoing it massively. Thx for sharing Misha.
In Germany, the legal warning of others in traffic with the high beams flashing, Misha is talking about, is depending on the distance one has to the car in front. One must have at least the safety distance to be legally able to use the flash once(!). If one is closer than the safety distance and still uses the high beams to flash the car in front, it is seen as harassment in traffic and will lead to severe punishments by the law enforcement if reported and documented/witnessed. The safety distance is measured by the rule of thumb: "Half your Speedo". --> 200km/h > 100m distance, 160km/h > 80m, etc. You will realize that the safety distance is quite far, when you look at the distance of the marking poles on the street (25m regional street, 50m Autobahn). But the SD is there for a reason.
Well said Misha💁♂️A valid reminder regarding the use of common sense and track etiquette at all tracks, not just the NBR Nordschleife. This proven combination makes for less crashes, everyone goes home safely and everyone can return to drive as fast as they and/or their vehicles are capable of consistently delivering, on any future day, on any given racetrack. Your life and the lives of others are too precious to lose through impatience and stupidity🙏🏻😃
I watched the full version of this video to get a bit more context. There were some really fast cars in this session. Regarding the Bimmer and Porsche, I think the flashing was a bit excessive and they could have used the indicator instead. However, I also see it from there point of view that they were trying to warn other drivers from a far distance, with less room for error at that higher speed.
You were in Bosnia so you're not a stranger to it. But,flashing like crazy is very very common. It is dangerous, it's annoying, it's...all sorts of things, makes no sense. Still, dumbass drivers do it all the time. Worst part is,there is no rule or a regulation to prevent it. Kind regards and drive safe.
One more thing,I met a guy that was driving the E39 M5...a dream car for me. And I never ,ever saw him driving like a maniac around town or anywhere for that matter. While guys in 40 years old Golfs or whatever are putting everyone, and I mean everyone in a most dangerous situations you can imagine. I had a fare share of or near death situations, because of them . I'm mo stranger to driving fast. But,the only time I do it is when all the conditions for a safe ,fast driving are met. I'm aline in the care, good weather, good road conditions, it's not crazy busy, car is in perfect condition and so on. Still, people are overtaking 5 cars and a truck straight into oncoming traffic. Hitting 150 in the rain ,with a car full of people,on a busy road.. it's a long list of stupid driving.
Hi Misha, I drove a rental E class diesel on the Autobahns back in 2019. I’m from Australia and had some ideas though research and watching UA-cam videos. The rental company at the airport just said you can drive as quick as you want. Ofcourse I went flat out 220kph, fortunate the car was as solid as a rock on the road. I had some performance cars overtake going faster, so I can totally understand how someone would panic if seeing a car on your tail flashing its headlights and your going so fast on a road your not completely comfortable with.
You are allowed to use your high beams and also your horn to signal the driver in front of you that you are about to overtake him outside of villages/cities. What you cannot do is tailgate him and use your high beams to signal him to move out of the way - that's considered harassment.
Those flashers risk the lives of the cars in front and they do not care. It is so distracting to receive these flashes, it also makes you angry and you lose focus. It invites people to retaliate in the heat of the moment. We don't need to wait for a crash to eventually happen because of them. Get them off the road ASAP. And since they are risking lifes, jail time seems somewhat justified for special offenders even when nothing bad has happened YET.
Flashing headlights is imo is no worse than coming up behind someone really fast and then sitting on their rear bumper until you pressure the car in front to move over. In the words of my instructor during my last trip; 'even if you give some people just a foot of the road over here they will often force their way into that gap making you move over before it is safe or you are ready to do so' . There may be strict German road laws to flashing your lights to much as it could be seen as harassing the car in front but I am sure sitting on a cars rear bumper harassing the car in front to move over like you and many other do on almost every lap could equally be called as harassment as well. At least the drivers flashing their headlights behind you waited for you to move over instead of overtaking you on the grass ...
Hi Mischa, flashing lights should be punished but you are wrong on other behavior. Thats my humble opinion, when you see faster guys in the mirror, maybe you should slow down and let them pass before you make other passes, this can be seen clearly on the lap video. You said e46 and e36 are better but 46 flashed you as well. You did not let the first party pass through sweedencross, still passing other cars down the foxhole. Let them go, why keep them behind and pass a few more cars man? keep it safe, we enjoy your videos 👍
At the end of the day people just want to drive, have fun and then go home in one bit. Anything or anyone that makes this difficult or impossible needs to made aware of it and dealt with accordingly...I could feel your frustration Misha, hence my comment in the main video. Everyone please drive safe, aware and within your skill set. Be considerate to others that may not be to your level or skill. Be safe and be happy!
BMW latest safety feature: the automatic flashing function. A great addition to their „Leave no safety distance“ function. Both systems engage automatically when the BMW driver sees another car in his lane.
You said it, be polite, it is very rare these days. I am part of a track club and our local tracks are very small so we can only overtake on the front straight. This can mean you are behind a car for the whole lap before they let you pass and if they haven't seen you it can be two laps. We are doing timed laps so you might miss a PB but you're there for fun not sleep stations.
About 7:35: When the flashing leads to the one in front to loose controll, this will probably not only being charged as harassment but also with "Gefährlicher Eingriff in den Straßenverkehr", so dangerous interference with road traffic, which can lead to up to five years in jail. Maybe also negligent assault.
Experienced drivers should keep in mind that this is touristenfahrten and behave like it. Book yourself a Track-Day if you want to go as fast as possible. You are the one that are responsible to look after anyone in front and behind you, and not the other guy flashing his lights like a christmas tree. I totally understand, Misha

No need to explain this at all Misha. This is why I personally like your channel. You try to keep it as neat, factual and clear as possible. Swearing after this is completely justified. Many people would have responded way worse. You are a great driver and a great person.
The lap in question: ua-cam.com/video/86RHa5m-aVc/v-deo.html
All this talk for something that is as obvious as day and night. Those guys were lapping on a public day und you were in their way. Simplest answer is most of the time the right...
Bunch of jerks
It was excessive flashing, and personally I think that the drivers of the two other vehicles in question got lost in an adrenalin fuelled dice
I doubt they'll do it again in a hurry.

Misha however, is a gentleman.
Some facts regarding the M4 driver:
First round of flashing, probably 50+ meters away: 0:06 - 00:09 - Flashes his high beams 15 times
Second round, probably 30+ meters away: 0:14 - 0:16 - Flashes his high beams 12 times
Third round, probably 15-20 meters away: 0:23 - 0:24 - Flashes his high beams another 6 times, just before the BMW in front starts braking early
Fourth round, probably 5 meters away: 0:29 - 0:31 - Flashes his high beams another 13 times
All things considered, it is completely inadequate to make the argument it was all done for the purpose of "safety".

+1
Nikki Lauda had one of the most horrific crashes in history at Nordschleife but had a lot of impact on the safety of racing. Just because you have accidents doesn't mean it's your fault. That is why they are called accidents. Those guys driving like that had no excuse. You are to judge traffic ahead be it in racing or on the road. Not attempt to bully your way through and cause an incident.
F1 champions crash and lose control. It's a part of the game. Misha's opinion is valued and it should be valued, I agree completely.
@@nitroblueuk Most accidents are avoidable. Accident is just implying it was not intentional. Which is usually the case. Just because an accident is unintentional doesn't mean it's not the drivers fault. People ought to understand that.

I counted closer to 60 times between the two of them 😤
A couple of weeks ago I came to the Ring for some TF laps in a slower car (125hp suzuki swift). That's really strange attitude for a TF ride.
please tell me you at least over took 1 car LOL
dont worry next time be 500hp with mods
Don't worry, for the next time and according to his username, we are putting a 64 rotor rotary in that Swift and make it live up to it's name :D
Is it really a good idea to take a 100hp plus city car to nordschliefe?😮😂

09:55 so my take is that you're allowed to drive fast, but you're supposed to be able to react to things happening in front of you also, so if you don't fit your pace to the surroundings around you then you shouldn't be on the track on public days and those guys pushing you out of their way were not fitting their pace to their surroundings
They were really flashing so much, and then I read their comment on instagram thinking they were in the right! Just outrageous, it's a public road! Not a track day or a 24 hour session. if anything a single time flashing would've been more than enough to notify the intention.

Nah man
This sounds German to me
Locals trying to bully what they think are noobies (they wouldn't do it if they knew you were the one driving).
Same kind as those drivers who flash you on autobahn when you're behind slower cars waiting for them to move so you can overtake them.
what i thought...typicall (and highly illegal) german Autobahn manners of Beemer drivers (and some others)...
It's one thing to terrorize a public session where most sane human beings are just chilling and having a good time safely.
'Very good. But brick not hit back.'
Let's see these two in the rain at the tail end of a stint trying to desperately defend a position.
How to die on the ring in 1 quick step. Also you definitely wont be a hypocrite when talking about safety!
The e46 was also flashing quite a lot, not as excessiv as the f80 but still. e46 headlights are also way less bright tho :D
I rewatched the End of the lap and the e46 flashed like 4 times within a 2min timeframe. Now count how many the m4 did 😂
@@ItsLukem Not sure what you are watching, but I just counted it in 0,25 speed and it should be like 15 - 17 times in a really short timeframe.
This + tailgating on highways are the worst, and yes usually Audi/BMW drivers 😅

You’re so right. It should be FUN for everyone- not just for the “fastest”!!
Not a warning when you drive at 20 cm to the car in front, and you flash lights like mad. I'm with you Misha.
By that Porsche driver's "logic", then everyone would constantly be flashing their highbeams when overtaking. SMH

3 flashes is enough, if they do not notice that they will not notice the 1000 next flashes either...
Its quite simple
You have to give way for faster cars IF POSSIBLE
If you are on a faster car YOU HAVE TO BE PREPARED for the frustracion of having a not so correct driver in front... Breathe... Roll your eyes... And breathe again
The diference between a good and a bad driver is the capacity for not "loosing is shit"
They did... And so did you. Shouldn't be so agitated by them. Remember ... Breathe... Roll eyes ... Breathe

Micha,
you are absolutely right, we must be aware of the fact that there are other drivers with us who have faster cars and better control, but we need to take care not only of ourselves but also of other drivers

I can understand when somebody flash 1-2 time for Warning in TF and Public Road ,but what the BMW and GT3 Guys was doing was tooo much
good point about excessive flashing. These two should be banned until end of year.
@christophermanley777 that last part is stuff of dream goals tbh
I agree with you, Those two drivers are very rude.
It's ironic because that guy was calling out Misha for this response on Instagram.
dude was flashing so much but was barely catching up😂😂
Great video.
Im a certified flasher. In Multiclass racing. Not on a public trackday....
Flashing is never a "Get out of the way!" Its a "Hi! Im here!"
There's people who do this at my local track in the US, absolutely boils my blood. I do the same thing too, get in the way and don't let them pass just to spite them. Last year in the paddock the guy comes up to me and says "didn't you see my flashing like crazy". I told him no sorry 😆🤣
Well that a track day so they can do that, but not in TF
People flashing think they are entitled and better than others. That triggers me too. Everybody has paid for their lap. You are not better than anyone else. This BMW guy was overdoing it massively.
Thx for sharing Misha.
1:04 Misha flexing his wife
He is apologize his woman om the video softening the conflict :D
@@lukaspocius3728 this🤣
In Germany, the legal warning of others in traffic with the high beams flashing, Misha is talking about, is depending on the distance one has to the car in front.
You're no hypocrite Misha, you're just trying to stop people unaliving themselves. Drive home safe my friends
Flashing lights at the driver ahead on a highway or at the Nurburgring should be illegal period.
Not only that but flashing someone that much takes away what you're doing in front 😢 and those speeds... That was downright disgusting.
There's rules there for a reason....Muppets !
You are right Misha. Thanks for this video. I‘m a regular, too and saw things like this many times. 🙏🏻
Let them go, why keep them behind and pass a few more cars man? keep it safe, we enjoy your videos 👍
finally uncensored version, i knew a special video was on the way!
People like those "skilled drivers" are why I do not dare to take my pride and joy or my daily vehicle on this track.
Haha, that made me chuckle!
Misha tried to sleep but he kept having nightmare of flashing lights.
Sooner or later they will get brake checked and things will go from bad to worse.
Love this you are 100%
The flashing thing is annoying. Especially on track people on track should be looking for faster cars approaching
"No one wants to drive like an asshole"?
Are you sure about that? There's PLENTY of videos on the interwebz of dumbasses going out of their way to annoy other drivers just because they can, cause they're in a rush and they've got 500+ more horsepower under the hood.
No need to explain this at all Misha. This is why I personally like your channel. You try to keep it as neat, factual and clear as possible. Swearing after this is completely justified. Many people would have responded way worse.
You are a great driver and a great person.
