If there's one thing I learned from 80s scifi, it's that in the future our aesthetic will be octagonal. Rooms: octagonal. Corridors: ditto.
I love retro scifi vibe so much. I like the padding on the walls like the inside of the millenium falcon especially
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop Turning your spray cans upside down and spraying after each use should stop the spitting. (Assuming it's a slight blockage).
In the Dark Heresy roleplaying game, there was a published adventure that took place on a space hulk. The most interesting part for me about it was a random table that shows the lingering effects of the hulk having been lost in the Warp for who knows how long. One of these effects is that the floor of the hulk slowly fades away as you walk on it until you're walking on thin air, or well, space... and accruing a hefty hit to your sanity as your mind refuses to believe what you're seeing.
Doing a section where the floor is just a sheet of polycarb or plexi glass with the void of space underneath would be incredibly cool.
I actually ran that adventure for my players some years ago. It was one of the most fun DH missions I've ever ran.
@@LegioPanda What was it called? Id be interested in looking it up.
@@anguscampbell3020 It is the second mission in the Purge the Unclean trilogy, pretty easy to find book. Has a lot of cool stuff even if you're not running any of the missions.
that warp backdrop is seriously good though, amazing work can't wait to see it finished
so true :)
Man you can't leave us with such a cliffhanger. I need part 2 of this
He can, he did it 3 times with imperator titan
@@DongLick don't open this wound
@@Yashu1105 🤣
@@DongLick oh man. That was such a bummer
@@DongLick the titan is being worked on ! Its just a really big and difficult project. Its not always clear how to move forward. I boucne around between projects because it helps me stay inspired. More titan stuff is coming soon though
I’ve never had any interest in warhammer 40k but I love listening to you talking about it. Infectious enthusiasm
Thats so kind! Thank you
I really like this style of giving us the history and lore of these games & then creating some terrain
Thats a sweet project, good distraction from working on the titan for sure.
You've outdone yourself on this one Eric! That exterior gives a sense of scale and place I don't think I've seen on a table. Looking forward to part 2!
Exactly what i was going for, thank you!
it's a great idea too, since it only really adds a small amount of vertical height it's perfectly practical
Man! First Henry Cavill and now... Tom Hardy!
I found your channel recently, Eric and must say my mind was just blown by your craft! SUBSCRIBED!!!
Greetings all the way from Lima, Perú! Keep up the wonderful craft and stay safe!
So, it is the "Event Horizon" movie, with dice and rules.
Love it.
That transition into the sponsor part of the vid was smooooooth
It was a good transition, though make sure not to actually buy from Established Title it's a completely fake scam.
@@sympylpyq634 wait then why is he advertising a scam?
That spray painted backdrop made me gasp when you shone the light through it. You just never stop coming up with great ideas
I always imagine space Marines just riding golf carts through the ship and getting stuck like Austin Powers
This is so sick my dude. Congratulations on GW getting in contact for a collaboration, you deserve it! Can't wait to see the next installment
Congrats on the well-deserved GW commission!
This is EPIC. Can't wait for part 2!
Love it so far! How about on the emperor class, instead of the rod going down, you attached it horizontally to the warp backdrop so it's hidden behind the ship when looking out the windows?
AAAAHH! I REALLY WANNA SEE MORE OF THIS!
Lore, models, history, real-world comparisons. Everything about this video is great
Loved Space Hulk back in the day, nice
By 18:13 we are all gazing spellbound past another ship into the infinite warp
HOLY EMPEROR OF TERRA! This looks FANTASTIC!
Abosolutelely stunning ..... When watching these videos I can never chose what I prefer: the video itself and the quality of the build, or the fact that, in my head, Eric comes from a parallel universe where he is the 3rd brother of two famous gondorians, Boromir and Faramir, and just runs a UA-cam channel ...
Lol never heard that comparison before. I’ll take it i guess haha
Eric, awesome vid man!!! Really, enjoyed every minute of this.
I found myself more than once audibly exclamating 'YOOOO' as Eric showed off some of these cool details. I can dream to one day be so creative.
Man, it's crazy that you got a sketch from 1509 in such good condition 🤭
Looks awesome so far! Can't wait for part two!
Never a dry moment!
I can't express how cool this is , a few years ago l bought a space hulk game at a garage sale , my older brother was nursing a broken leg , he put his Lionel train crafting to work making me tons of terrain , and converting 2 inch plastic figures into all sorts of inhabitants of this enormous drifting wreck.
I'm like the biggest Battlefleet Gothic fan on the planet, and, man, that Emperor-class came out AMAZING! I LOVE it. Warms my callous, nerdy heart.
And that board is looking like it's going to be bonkers. Well done, mate! Can't wait for the finished thing.
This is why this my favourite channel
What can go wrong, ship just need to walk through hell 😂
Made my day, thank you
A new Eric's Hobby Workshop video right on my birthday! What a treat!
Dude! I Think your content is some of the best on youtube! I love the combination of crafting awesome terrain and learning lore. The research you do, wheter its on knights or 40k, always brings so much to the videos! Keep it going!
That first ship interior piece was my favorite project of any channel hands down, but this is going to surpass it in every respect, great work!
That segway into the Established Titles plug was masterful.
Edit after finishing video:
Holy crap dude. That view out the window is straight up jaw dropping! Can't wait for the next part. This is EPIC.
flip the can upside down and give it a spray after painting, only air will come out clearing the spray tip, which will prevent splattering.
Wow this looks awesome. I can't wait for Part 2. What a cliffhanger!
This already is one of my favourite pieces of terrain
Yay back to the food references. From religious tofu to marinating arched windows. Excited to see what's next with your project. Good start.
That warp storm is genuinely the coolest thing I've ever seen. I can't wait for part 2.
Looks absolutely smashing with that backdrop. Cant wait to see more
Really cool! This actually makes me want to purchase a Games Workshop product. I have always liked Space Hulk. I look forward to the next video.
He really got their momeys worth when they reached out to you. Looks so good
Wow! Just, wow. That's ridiculous awesome.
Love the effect you created with the backdrop of the 'warp' looks amazing..
Absolutely gorgeous! LOVE the Warp backdrop. If I had skills, I'd steal the idea and techniques
Ok I'm subscribed now I need more of this table it looks super cool
Oh wow, great lighting really sells the story. Love it!!
Really looking forward to seeing this completed!
the likely problem with your spray cans is clogged nozzles. When you finish using a spray can turn it upside down & spray until no pigment comes out, this clears the nozzle. Many spray painters take the nozzle off, storing the cans without a nozzle attached, either washing the nozzle or buying replacements.
This is art, form and function gloriously fused into a glowing ball of awesomeness! Looking absolutely brilliant mate.
My mind is blown. This is beyond gnarly!!! 🤯
I just always love that witty dry humor. I start watching for the crafting ideas, but then end up laughing at the jokes, then have trouble explaining to my wife why I'm laughing at a miniature hobby video.
It's worth the awkward looks I get though.
Cool project, I love the effort your putting forth to make this be as impressive and immersive as it is.
Thank you! Im stoked with how its coming
That was Emperor-damned awesome!!! Can't wait to see the next installment
I am not a gamer but WOW your work is incredible, that lighten background is first class. Been following your work for a while now and you only get better. Carry on.
that is an amazing built start, looking forward to see it finished
That two coats joke was effin great 😂 great artwork, you‘re an amazingly talented craftsman
Really impressive, can’t wait for part 2!
Incredible start. I look forward to seeing it develop
I’d suggest mounting the battleship’s flight stand to the side, connected to the backdrop, so it looks even more like it’s floating in space.
Amazing! Can't wait for part II!
Wow that warp backdrop reveal was hype
Nice job, Eric. Awesome to learn about to Space Hulk!
Your combo of art and craft is second to none! I love the sparks of personal interest you work into your episodes and use as narative force. It really helps smooth the buildprocess into a story
I love it. I aways enjoyed that ship interior you made back when, one of my favorite pieces. Glad you got a chance to revisit it.
Eric's really out here planting Terrain and Trees, what a Chad.
This is really looking amazing. Can't wait to see the rest.
Lovely Eric, thanks!
To keep the paint from clogging up your rattle cans, right after you finish with the can, turn it upside down then depress the valve/button until no paint comes out (this effectively clears out the paint from the spray nozzle) usually around a second or two is all it takes. After you turn the can upside down, wait a few seconds for the paint to settle towards the top of the can THEN start purging.
I watch a lot of terrain and mini crafting videos. Like, probably an unhealthy amount. With that said, this is one of the coolest damned things I've ever seen. Amazing work.
Amazing effect! Thanks for ensperation!
Seeing this incredibly immersive table, more than anything, I just want them to relaunch Inquisitor at 28mm scale, it's the perfect game for this!
8:41 one of the best troll faces I have ever seen. Congratulations
Daaaaaamn, Eric. This is maybe one of your best jobs yet.
So good, inspiring my future space station zero build.
I loved the front piece here. Was very 40k
This already looks so wicked.
I'm very impressed so far. You are very creative!
Man o man! JB would be impressed
I was legitimately excited when this video auto played because I have been thinking of making a similar board for the new release
This is going to be an epic series! The environment feels real already 👍
My Alpha Legion kill team would have a ball!
Wow. Can't wait to see the rest!
Gosh, that is just wonderful, Eric!
Can't wait to see the finished product eric
Looks great, can't wait till part two
Great build, very atmospheric. I have a small suggestion though. If you will add more debris and ships in the background, try pinning them at their side to the backdrop, that way they will look like they are floating instead of standing.
Really like what you have done so far. It really looks amazing looking out from the Space Hulk. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the board in the next episode.
I can't wait for the next part. It's an amazing project, thanks alot for your creativity!
Magnificent job. Can’t wait to see the next video.
If your spray tips are spitting you can either order tips off of a graffitti site or you can often remove them and give them a paint thinner wash/soak in a glass jar and that can often save them. ✌🏻☺️
Wow. Im stoked for part 2
Great vid! Love your blend of lore and hobby instruction! Glad youre getting some recognition from GW, your vids are awesome and definitely get me hype for warhammer! Off to an amazing start, excited to see this progress!
Thank you for the great video! You have such a talent.
May the emperor bless your soul
Dude this is awsome and also a great homage to gothic and space hulk also I think u just advanced as a creator of terrain setting and emersion seriously I don't know how u can get better at what u do but u did well done
Incredible work! This gives me so much inspiration for future builds!! Can’t wait to see it all finished! 🙌🔥🙌
This is AMAZING already. Very cool, Eric!
Need part 2 this is your best project
I like Eric's enthusiasm for his own work; especially the Warp Storm background.
Can’t wait to see part 2!
