Wi-Fi 6 is better and FASTER! I was able to pull over 700Mbps down wirelessly on my iPhone! The AX3000 is a sweet, affordable Wi-Fi 6 router
what city did you get the google fiber KC Cali ?? Hope G expands to Tampa Bay...
On wi-fi 5 at 5ghz,how much did you have?And if you can test the wi-fi 4 N at 5ghz speeds,please
I only have 350mbps down but I’m just looking for a better router that can handle more traffic and has longer range than the stupid Comcast x1 modem/router
we have 2 asus rog ax1100 routers 1 down sters and one up sters and its amazing we have google fiber too and its great got speed of 820 down and 633 up all over the house about the same
cmon , i have 480Mbps down and up on mi archer c1200 so what is the difference? (mi connection is 1000mbps down and 500up) and for test i use galaxi s10e ....
Thank you and well done for producing this nice short yet a comprehensive tutorial. ❤️ I'm surprised though why the AX3000 hasn't quite captured the fancy of the users and barely scores a pass rating on most websites as of Feb, 16 2020
Picking one up on black Friday! Thank you!
Awesome!
Just a quick question. Does it work on prepaid WiFi sim card which is 4G LTE powered? Thanks in advance
Question; on my Tether app my home page looks exactly like yours (at 3:33) however without the upload/download speed displayed. I just got my AX50 & Tether app in Feb 2022 so maybe the newer version that I have doesn't show the speed anymore?
Great video. How is the range? In a 4k sqft 2-story house, would I need a wifi extender with it or can it handle the range of the full house? Thanks
So since it’s backwards compatible, devices that use WiFi 5 will be fine on this?
JUst wondering, are the antennas screwed into coax connections so that we can connect external antenna
Ended up returning mine - it runs incredibly hot, and it seemed to be dropping packets if you use it to stream wireless VR - in other words utilising both wired and wireless networks pretty heavily.
Can QOS be disabled both on the router web page and the app? I read the HomeCare class of settings prevent QOS from being disabled.
is this good for 300-400mbps down? Usually, 2 people gaming on separate floors and others streaming youtube or Netflix or whatever, plus a couple of other little devices connected like phones.
If not, any suggestions? Right now I have a tri-band nighthawk I got from Costco.
So this is a WiFi booster or its own WiFi can I just connect the route to my ps4 and new good? Or do I have to connect it to my WiFi?
Do you know if you can update the firmware off of the Walmart version if purchased through them? Unfortunately, I didn't know there was a difference other than the price. Apparently their version has stripped down parental controls, and when I rename my connected client devices, those names don't "stick".
Do you have to connect to a modem? Because I don't have one :/
Great review! Thank you!
Thanks!
Hi Ben, is there a significant difference in performance between AX10 and AX50 when it comes to handling 30-40 client devices (10-15 are IOTs like WiFi power plug)
So does HomeCare require a subscription? For QoS, ParentalControls and Malware blocking.
Thanks for the review, does it support openVPN configuration?
For the 2.4ghz , the speed is like 574 vs 800 in the AC2600 model. Does this mean its not so good on the 2.4 ghz band?
Is this the router that you need to also subscribe to the app with a monthly fee to get more functions or help with stopping the transferring throttling?? I have seen some reviews on amazon of very angry customers that feel that they have been blindsided with no indication of extra fees or subscriptions needed to access full functionality prior to purchase.
in home care or security do it have ant-virus or is that the AX-50 model only
I purchased this on the advice of a TP-Link tech after I had told him my requirements.....I also purchased a dual fan platform that the unit fits exactly on as I had read some of the reports of overheating. This 1 unit replaced a top of the line Linksey and a Netgear unit needed to run the various wifi devices I had running. Some inside and some outside. This ONE TP-Link router runs EVERYTHING flawlessly.
What is the model of the dual fan platform you purchased?
I wanna know the fan he bought too
Hello BizarreGaming....It is a Wathai High Air Flow Router Cooling Fan. I bought it on Amazon for $19.99.....it has three fan speeds and has run continuously since I bought it.
Ben Do u need to plug it directly into your main router?
Sooo will this be able to run PC VR smoothly if it can or can’t plz let me know thx 🙏
Great review. Clean and crisp. Ordered one today
Would it require a booster for house with a small basement? keeping the equipment on the ground floor. trying to avoid paying $15 a month to verizon for their equipment.
What happens if you use older devices with this router.. will the still work like
Would you recommend this device for large family's 13 people device's at total 35 at least 27 of them running at one time
Wondering if this will speed up the network if I connect this a current slow modem that I have hooked up through Verizon FIOS.
Is it good for Gigabit Connection in a 3000 sq two story home with 26 devices?
I have a 802.11ac dsl modem router can i put a this router on it ?
Thanks for your video. The TP-Link Archer AX50 is really good model because of good speed, coverage, device connectivity and built in Antivirus.
What is the difference between the AX1500, and AX1800? how do they both compare to the AX3000
Do u have to pay monthly or how does it work?
what is the max speed for devices which are not 802.11 AX supported?
Is there a difference between AX3000 and Archer AX50? Or are they the same?
Can I do some sort of mesh network with this particular router? I have the same model and want wish in my garage 90' away from the router.
Can you block ports on certain ip-addresses with this?
I ordered the AX3000. Thank you!
how much and from where?
which one would you take the TP AX3000 or ASUS - Wireless-AX3000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router - Black
Bought this thing today to replace the standard gateway from Xfinity and it's really nice had a bit of an issue in set up but now it's working like a charm I've never had videos load so fast
I'm thinking of doing the same thing to slice that $90 bill down. What modem do you use?! Also does it work good with unlimited as well as multiple device's?! We stream and game in the house and have several different portable and gaming devices. I just wanna make sure this router can handle that which I'm pretty sure it can.
@@rhomayyann4691 I have two playstations phones 3 computers going at one time and it works fine to distribute the internet since it has QoS it will make sure no matter what your devices wont drop out and its already enable on the router. Set up isnt terribly hard i have an Arris modem and it connects fine since i have comcast the only time ive had it drop is when the service itself drops out so long as you have a modem already set up with your ISP all you really have to do is go in and set up the 5Ghz band on it which the instructions they give are pretty clear on how to get into the settings
Hey i am from Germany. Is it working for my DSL internet?
Is the overheating and 3000 ping a + ???
I need to know these things
1. antenna power gain in dbi? i.e. 5dbi or 6dbi
2. total Sq.ft coverage i.e. 2000 or 300 sq.ft
3. What's the MU-MIMO technology used in this router? 2x2 or 4x4 or higher?
4. And lastly, the Heating issue is present like AX50 or not? Any long term review/suggestion to the prospective buyers like me?
is there a way i can get a router that i can just plug into a normal outlet and not a modem and play? without paying monthly
Can I setting the router using tplink website on my phone?
The $10 code on Amazon doesn't work, has it expired?
Also, what (if any) is the difference between the TP-Link AX3000 "AX50" (Amazon) and the TP-Link AX3000 (Walmart)?
Thanks
Thanks for this video. Would you make a video also about how fast it can share large size files between two computers? Like a desktop and server or laptop?
It seems that all they know is to test their internet speed. Haven't these "reviewers" heard of NAS devices or these videos are only for the non-technical people???
@@Ivicakmk for tests like that, check out Lon Seidman (for routers and laptops) and Juan Bagnell (for phones)
I have no clue what these router things are and I don’t really know what this is or how to use this I’m looking into these so please someone help me out
Hello. Ax1500 can work with deco m5?
can you replace this router over your original ISP router ?
Question - If I have the Archer C7 (WiFi 5) do you think it’s worth upgrading to this? Or is that overkill?
I think it all depends on your use-case, sq ft, etc etc
Will this work connected to a switch for cinfiguring VLANs?
As soon as it's a managed switch sure, any router can do it
Been using a 7 year old netgear 3600r v2... Upgrading to this today ...only a few WiFi 6 products but there will be more.
Sorry for my ignorance but can it be used in any country?
If i have a wifi plan of 300 mbps, and get the router which will give me 3000 mbps does it increase or stays at 300 mbps
Use a pfsense box with the fiber plugged right into the sfp on a 10gbe nic. Use the wifi 6 routers as an ap
What is the difference between the AX1500 and the AX1800?
Hi
Any update on heating issues
I purchased this router for an affordable 129.99. Not bad to integrate into the AX category. My Asus RT AC5300 router is nice and has great coverage but having to report all my web data to a big brother Trend Micro really made me swap out. I turned off the tattle tale feature and amazingly my AC router began to run like crap. Coincidence? Hahaha you tell me. The AX 3000 runs just fine for our small house with only 4 of us. Plenty of head room for all our device needs. Thanks for the recommendation.
bfitnessjoe still works good ?
EzPzLemonSqueeze ! It actually wasn’t enough for the amount of users and traffic coming into the home. After a short while I noticed massive bandwidth issues especially when using WiFi to steam content to HD TVs. I swallowed the pill and decided to stick with Asus and use the GT AX11000 and use the AC5300 as a node (wired). Tri-band wireless network and wired network access across the house. No issues.
Router still lag Of processing Power even though have 3 decades exist. Better use Pcie Wireless adapter or USB 3.0 5ghz for laptop counterpart. Many of Wireless adapter offer offload host processing. Manage to get my Intel i9 up to 50% cpu usage network processing alone
it is wifi6 only or it supports both wifi 4 and 6
Thanks for the video! what about the AX1500? It seems like the specs are pretty similar, the difference seems to be the bandwith only, however, with a ISP of 100Mb, I don't think I need a 3000, so I was looking to save some money and get the 1500, do you think it is the right choice?
Stuck with the same confusion
But I think if you are into streaming contents via plex or apple TV or etc 3000 would be great
as from (if) SSD read speed gonna be high so almost no buffering
The AX 3000 has higher speeds for wireless laptops that have WiFi 6, and more total capacity. But for a few clients, I think the AX1500 would be fine, since it has 1200Mbps over 5Ghz, and 300Mbps on 2.4Ghz
Can a mesh router connect to this?
Mine doesn’t connect to the internet provider and I don’t know to fix it
does it allow you to control the bandwidth speed for each device connected to it?
Yup
Got an AX6000 2 weeks ago. 5g channel continuously disconnects or simply disappears from wifi list. Not impressed for a £280 router
I need a new router. Should I get the ax20 or ax50 for 800 Sq ft home w/ 5 devices connected.
Just get AC for now, wait AX to mature first and WiFi 6E is coming.
Any configuration I can on the router to get faster speed? I'm paying for 600mbps. But speed test roughly shows up at 350ish mbps.
Whose your provider.
Will it works if i buy that one so i replace with my old broadband ? Or i shold contact the custore serviese in my local Area first? My broadband speed is 240 megabit will it speed it double or how it will works?
The router will only give you speeds as fast, or slightly slower than, your existing internet plan. You would need to contact your internet service provider to upgrade your speed tier.
Hi, thank you so much for sharing. I think their customer service is pretty much non-existent, tried to call several times can't get human on the phone also tried chat and that did not work as well. do you still have it and if so how was it working out? Thanks
How do I connect this to my Xfinity modem?
What about 2.4hz long range ps4 can't connection 5 6 wifi. This good?
Don't say LAN. I only wanna know long range or far place wifi strong signal connection ps4 good or not?
In case of 2 floor is recommended to put another? Is compatible to add new product and share? Or is better for that case mesh?
Depends on sq ft, but this single router might be sufficient
2 floors shouldn't be an issue but if let's say it doesn't suffice u can use a OneMesh extender with it
I have giga fiber router is good ?
Does your ax3000 Router Gets Warm or Hot? Thanks
What is the range of this router?
I get that is is going to be overkill, would this be a good alternative to use if my internet speed is 40mbps down and 3 up?
If your internet is 40/3 than that's all your gunna see when you connect the the wider web. Now if you have a NAS or something that your going to connect to on your lan network than sure there are reasons. Alternatively, there are some nice QOS features in this to help you best optimize your limited bandwidth that you have. However, if you have a decent WI-FI AC(WIFI-5) router than there is not really a reason to upgrade it
Bought one of these today, didn't realize they are 4 years old. Date on the unit software was dated 2022 so got a firmware update right away. Couldn't use it the way I was hoping so it's just a wifi access point now and back to using the isp supplied modem since it has more configuration options but is only 2.4ghz so I disabled the wifi on it and using the AX3000. Kind of disappointed in the watered down interface on the tplink. At least it wasn't very expensive.
Whats the range on this router?
can I use a 3g usb modem on this???
Great review, I like it and thanks for extra details moving around corners
This works for a gaming PC right?
Hey Thank you for the video really intresting
You said you have one GIG Google fiber internet why you cant get so close to that number during the speedtest ?
Thank you
Yassine Maarrach it’s WiFi
how can i know if my router has wifi 6?
Does it have bult in smart hub
Thanks needed a Wifi 6 router for The Quest 2. But i have to say it is sad to Upgrade when i only have a 30/30 fiber line, seems so slow compared to ppl in big citys
I purchased this for the quest 2 also. Could you tell a difference?
Awesome! Was waiting for this video, can I run 2 of these in mesh mode like Asus? Or must be an access point?
Great question, and I'm not positive but I don't think mesh mode works with these... Can anyone confirm?
@@AuthenTech am going to get 3 of those to replace my 3x Nighthawks AC1900 setup and let you know speed, mesh or not, range deference, for now am getting 300mbps with the Nighthawks, range is covering my 5600sf house and 1 acre 75% (I have the Gigablast plan)
@@AuthenTech - can you use the web interface to put the second router into bridge mode? With a wired backhaul, that would give you a full-speed extended coverage option.
@@WakeUpAmerican000s that would work, but the switching between access points would be done by the phone instead of the mesh nodes.
Does this have OneMesh feature?
can you use this with ps4 ?
Is it true that you need to pay to have access to all these features?
Ftth connection support?
Does it take cellular sim cards
I have ax3000 but I’m only getting 400-500mpbs wirelessly but I get 800-900mpbs on Ethernet? How come I can’t reach 700-800mpbs infront of the router? My fastest is only 500mpbs in front
What about the AX1500 Routers?
Could you recommend a good cable modem that works great with that TpLink ax3000? As well
Cat 8 cable...
Cat 6 or 7 or 8 it does not matter
So I would be able to just hook this up to my Verizon FiOS modem correct?
I got one 3 days ago, it’s not good
I just got this. My isp gives me 300 mbps but this router speed goes only to 200mbps.:(.
How can you increase your security?
WOW .. inc speeds.. great info thanks...
FYI, the USB is 3.0 and the product page on Amazon says it.
Can I use other device without ax support like my one plus 6t?
Can i get the same speed? Thanks buddy
Yes you can connect older devices just fine, but won't be at the same AX speeds of course
@@AuthenTech nothing changed with my speed after all. please help
