The level of craft is so far far above what’s commonly done in America, it almost takes a minute to tell you’re making a door from scratch. So great to see this!

Great attitude and standard of work. well done. We used to leave what was called a penny gap to allow for painting etc. That's an old penny thickness.

There is one thing I am wondering; would it not be worth putting some sound-insulating materials in that gap between the wall and the door frame? e.g. some type of plastic or rubber or maybe that foam spray thing people sometimes use?

Good video mate but why don't you use mitre fast on the mitre's and a 18 gauge 2nd fix nail gun to secure?

1”1/2 or 2” depending on architrave thickness and 30mm sheridized panel pins all the best Tony 👍

Hi Kevin are apologies for not replying it’s something that is getting incredible more difficult because of other time commitments like family, running a business, organising a huge show for the Youth of today, it’s one of the main reasons I have hardly done any videos myself, and I’am always thankful that are other Sub get involved and answer some questions as like an open debate. Me personally I don’t like using adhesive on the back some people do it’s just the way some people are shown or decide it might be better fix which in an open debate it could be.
There are so many grab adhesive out there they all do pretty much the same job it’s really what your merchant has in stock. I think gluing architrave on is bad practice
Why is it bad practice? I've found glue+nail (or glue+screw) always gives the best bond when you don't want it to move
you have glasses and ear protection but you lack gloves for the table saw,,,,,,,,??? I'm sorry I can't bear to comment on it, you only have 10 fingers,
