Not me, lol. He definitely was the most talented one in that musically gifted family. In terms of his guitar playing, few have managed to combine rock, funk, and soul better than him (thanks, Jimi!!!). He's also an accomplished drummer to the point where his playing has often been sampled by many hip-hop artists. He also has an underrated singing voice, which makes me wonder if he ever got to use it on any of the 70s and early-80s Isley brothers lps. Had a hand in writing many of their big hits.

Wow amazing! Jimi won a talent contest to help get him started at The Apollo Theater. Jimi was also "discovered" near there in Harlem at The Cheetah Club & auditioned at the Cafe Wah? by Linda Keith (Keith Richard's girl friend at the time) & Chas Chandler of the rock group The Animals looking for new talent.
My dad was a NYPD cop in Harlem (beat cop at 5th & 125th?) back in the early-mid sixties as well, said he used to chat with famous boxer Sugar Ray Robinson near a tennis court. Julius Erving (aka Dr. J) was also discovered near there at Harlem's famed Rucker Park. Small world! :)

If you listen to Hendrix Manic Depressive performance at Winterland in 68, Ernie's version really captures Hendrix spirit although I must say that Ernie is cleaner and more precise. @@michaeldavies4871 @Jay Fender - If you listen to Ernie he usually plays like this. It’s a normal procedure for him to over work a song. It isn’t just about the length of time but how musically interesting of what’s being played and what it sounds like. Isley is boring after one bar. I already want to turn it off.
Do either of you play an instrument? If so then you might understand the elements of music.
Did everything always turn out perfect when Hendrix when he was on stage and did he ever over work a song? He might have.
Listen to this version of Who’s That Lady with Isley:
      ua-cam.com/video/TKsBEg9pp1o/v-deo.html
It too is completely over done and boring. He plays the same thing over and over again. Hope this helps.

@@TheseusTitan - Whether or not any of us play an instrument doesn't matter, the mere question offers nothing but an assumption of expertise when all you're really doing in offering a personal opinion. It's a logical fallacy. Frankly UA-cam and most of other social media sites are full of self-styled experts who claim some kind of providence over others.
That said, you're welcome to an opinion, but it doesn't matter more than any other just if you happen to play and "understand the elements of music". The last time some said something similar to me, he was claiming that SRV was a far better guitarist than Hendrix..uh-huh. Incidentally, I've been listening and playing for nearly 40 years.
