The only mistake you made was during the philospher part. Constantine was emperor of the Roman Empire, not the holy roman empire or byzantine empire, those came centuries later. When Christianty was enforced all of those who did not wish to abbandon the gods were persecuted and killed for centuries.
@@ravenstrategist1325 You are correct, mentioning the Holy Roman & Byzantine Empires was too early for the conversion to Christianity in the the Roman Empire. But it did happen starting with Constantine.
@@KaizokuSleven Never said otherwise.
This analysis was amazing! Ngl I won't be surprised if in the sequel series, we see some of isaac's impact on the world
i love that black character is my prefered on all anime
"You can use a hammer to crack a skull, or build a shelter." This is probably my favorite line of Issac's
Right!
cringe
@@LORDSofCHAOS333 you are cringe
@@LORDSofCHAOS333okay weirdo
You know what's weird to me? How our heroic trio never meet the forgemasters, despite the fact that they were fighting a lot of their creatures and getting caught up in hector's schemes. For two groups to have had so much effect on one another to never meet seems mind boggling to me but also makes the world of Castlevania seem a little bigger.
I know right! I was kind of hoping by they would meet up down the line but since season 4 was the final? I guess that won't come to fruition. It's a major coincidence they never met while simultaneously Isaac and Hector turn over a new leaf.
the two different narratives beween the main gang and the forgemasters also makes it feel more like a video game, a la resident evil 2
@@KaizokuSleven varney's like get over here in the a plot, and Isaac's like no thank you I've got my own agenda. 😆
I mean technically both of them most likely knew and met alucard.
I thought they will kill Isaac after Dracula but they did better
Lisa gave Dracula the gift of travel, the gift of trying to find the best in himself and the world. And before her execution, it had worked. He had gone from a blood thirty killer to a loving husband and father. By saving Issacs life by throwing him through the mirror, Dracula gave him the same gift.
Ironically enough, that continued Lisas legacy so much more that his planned execution of the human race in her name. He gave Issac the same gift that Lisa gave to him.
On Point
Cept he coulda dumped him in a more hospitable environment
@@harmonetheanimationaddict4419 I think the desert might aslo represent how bland or better said, empty isaac was. at this point in the story
Isaac was also born in the desert. Dracula knew he could survive there.
I also think just as Lisa gave Dracula the gift of life, Dracula also gifted Issac with the gift of life by saving him.
They did such a good job with Isaac that I was genuinely convinced he became the main character in Seasons 3 and 4. My man starts out a nihilistic mess and ends up becoming a kindhearted king, self-confident enough to block Death's phone number. He even gets a stand near the end! What a guy
The End, baby. That Stand companion he has is called The End on the Curse of Darkness game and is one of the best Innocent Devils (companions/summons) in the game. I'm so glad even The End had such a badass portrayal in this series.
such a reliable guy
@thespectre4704 You can come to a series for a specific character, but end up growing attached to another just by sheer good writing.
Mentioning Locke is a false equivalency. Locke was poorly written, and literally came out of nowhere and had no prior foundation in Halo world building. Isaac is in the animated series from day 1, and has meaningful writing and growth. Unlike Locke.
To me, Isaac is to this anime as Jack Sparrow is to Pirates of the Caribbean
@@UnreadyPlayer I see what you mean. He was not meant to be a main protaganist, but in reality his story gives main character energy.
just a minor thing I've noticed that as far as I can tell, noone has pointed out:
when Isaac is talking to Hector you can see him fix himself and Hector a drink; water and lime. The same drink the Captain offered him on the ship.
To me it seems Isaac took the constructive criticism to heart and used it in more ways than one by bettering not only himself, but Hector aswell with a simple gift.
I think Isaac never had any favorite food or drink before in his life. He never take pleasure from eating. He only eat and drink to survive. He decline brandy from the ship captain.
But it is clear that the water mix with lime pleases him from his expression after he took a sip during the conversation on the ship. And after kill the wizard, Isaac is 'enjoying' berries.
I think what settled the matter of how Isaac had shifted his beliefs about hector was immediately on seeing him after defeating Carmella was “Where is Lenore?” (Are you safe?) and “How’s your hand?” (Are you alright?)
Best decision ever to not have him that stupid edgelord.
Now he´s one of the best characteres in an animated series ever.
Agreed 1,000%
factts
Series ever*
Given I seen some complaints, especially the die hard of calling the show as "fan fiction" while defending Issac game counterpart has some story.
That I agree with your comment mate
Agreed. purists are so annoying...
It’s poetic how issac a human so consumed by hatred for humans became the most human
The "I'm going to live" line is so powerful. In the beginning of the story, Isaac saw only death and evil, now he sees life and good. In the beginning he didn't want anything, now he wants a simple thing, "to live".
A few things:
1. I’ve never played Castlevania, so the Isaac from the Netflix series is the only Isaac I’ve ever known. And he’s my favorite character in the animated series.
2. Isaac’s journey is so interesting because he came from a backgrpund where he was punished for simply existing. Because of this, he never pushed outside his “designated purpose.” It was only through a great and insightful journey that he learned to find his own purpose and a beauty in life that he had not seen since childhood. A child sees the world only for its beauty, while an adult can see the world for all its parts, but appreciate its beauty the most.
3. I would read a book about Isaac’s journey. His discovery and analysis of what most Abrahamic faiths call “the Problem of Evil” is very interesting, and I can greatly sympathize with it. He discovers that humans can do good or they can do evil, and that you cannot change that about them. You can only hope to influence them, and to leave this world better than you found it…which, y’know maybe *murder* and *raising demons from Hell* weren’t exactly the most tame methods, but he’s living his truth, so what are you gonna do?
Oh don't worry, old Isaac was shit lol
Best comment ive read of Isaac, I feel the exact same way📌
@@nore5888 gotta agree. I didn't really have opportunities to dive into castlevania games before I watched a show, I started show when it was already finished so I found without waiting years for new seasons that Isaac was best character in show. Sadly when I played a game after finishing a show, meeting this kind of Isaac was ultimate disappointment
Not all Abrahamic religions have a problem of evil, Islam doesn't, it easily does away with the problem of evil, as far as I have seen Christianity struggles with it the most.
Game Isaac is the worst character in the entire series, he's so fucking generic and forgettable which is saying something because this series also came up with Brauner
I loved Isaac's talks with Fly Eyes. It was strange, at first, seeing him talk to a demon, a creature up to that point made to be used, not spoken with. But then they really got going, getting into ideas and nuances that really fleshed out both Isaac himself and the world at large, painting a history and a theology in tones both dark, in the first talk, and lighter in the second.
The low amount of views this video has is borderline criminal. Awesome analysis of one of the best character developments ever.
I appreciate it dude. Thank you for the engagement and spread the wealth by sharing
I absolutely agree
I hugely agree. This was one of the best analysis vids as well for castlevania
Isaac was definitely the most interesting character in this series. Also, his fight scene with Camilla was hype as fuck.
Isaac is a black character done right. His race is just one aspect of a deep, fascinating character with an amazing arc. That he is black doesnt come up once in the whole story if I remember correctly. This is how you write a black character in a mostly white setting, he is not a token.
Agreed 1,000%
Comes up one time. He was a slave as a boy
@noahsains6227 But it was one time, only one thing that made Issac the character he is. That's good storytelling to me, when the writer's make a character's race, gender, or sexual preference completely secondary, and instead focus on their actions and their philosophies of life.
This is not always possible, and should not be held as dogma. A character's race would be a vital trait, in say, Jim Crow era America.
It does when he states that people want to eat him and use his body parts in their potions and as an aph·ro·dis·i·ac.
Isaac actually means "he will laugh" in Hebrew. Despite his angst and cruelty in early seasons, his journey is predictable but not in the tone we imagined.
Interesting
It's absolutely mind blowing that Issac is so important to the story, had the best development, and is without a doubt the best character in the series... and he never came in contact with the original three protagonists XD.
It's amazing that his story runs parallel with the other three, while being an antithesis to Hector's... this is some seriously good writing.
Isaac has one of the most interesting heroes journeys I have ever seen. He is the prime example of "everyone is a hero of their own story."
When, of course, Isaac decided to make his own story instead of becoming part of someone else's.
@@playwars3037 🤔
I didn't even know that Isaac was race swapped, either way I think his the only race swapped character that works
It's not the only one, but it highlights how to do things like this right. You have to make sure that the changes make the story more interesting. Making him african makes dracula's influence feel greater then if he just had europeans leading his court, displaying that he largely sees past such prejudices and judges merit. Making him muslim also added a lot of depth to his character and philosophy that gives a weight and perspective to his actions the show really benefits from. Not the only example but a really good one
Yeah, you forget Nick Fury
Speaking about this subject, A-train (from the Boys TV show) is one of the best examples of race swaped characters that work well
@@AnilSaulnier 🤔
@@Ermac98A-train was a bit on the nose. I personally like Isaac better, from being a slave to becoming a just ruler and building his own empire.
A character changing, especially if you're just doing a race-swap, only works if it has a key element: "Sincerity". This character was always sincere throughout with their motivations: why they were okay with Dracula's plan, their self-flagellation as a component of their faith, interactions with new characters, motivations developing and changing, being challenged and restructured over and over again. Everything about this character is.....natural, pure, sincere. Extreme, certainly, brutal, definitely. But it's "them". It's their character, through and through. Not many characters get this well-written of an arc.
BOOM....You get it! Thank you
When I first watched season 4 and Issac said “I’m going to live” I honestly shed a tear. What a damn fine story
I'd watch a whole series of Isaac talking with demons in the desert
🤣
This is Isaac’s show and story. He’s the best character by a wide wide margin. He’s kind, loyal, intelligent, charismatic, introspective, brooding, witty, he’s everything that makes writing and reading great stories awesome. He has the best lines in the show and his voice acting is also the best in the show.
Yer name lol!
I just started this and he sounds cool.
It's crazy how Isaac, who is just a human, can keep up with high-ranking vampires blow for blow in a one-on-one fight. He's just a complete badass!💯💪
I felt every word of you explaining Isaac's Journey and I can tell that you can also relate to him as well. Definitely one of my favourite characters with amazing character development. He went through his own Hero's Journey and definitely found his calling and internal/mental/emotional/spiritual Growth. Thank you for this video definitely my favourite video of yours. Keep them coming✊🏾✊🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Thank you for those words, I put a lot into this vid so it brings me joy to get responses like these. They will keep coming lol
@@KaizokuSleven the hard work, it shows
Looking at his character development in terms of stages of maturity is a cool take. And yeah, Isaac is definitely an example of how to change up a character in a way that actually works. Great video!
Isaac: *Walks around with a bunch of monsters 20 deep*.
Also Isaac:" Why do people keep fckin with me?"
😂😂😂...no lies told here
Bro, if you're squadded up with hell beasts beyond my comprehension then I'm leaving you the fuck alone, and I'm wondering why anybody would dare to fuck with you too
As someone who has both played Curse of Darkness and seen the Netflix series, the contrast between the two versions of Isaac gives me IMMENSE WHIPLASH.
lol
Right! Literally Night and Day lol
Is it weird that i want Netflix!Isaac to curbstomp his original counterpart?
@@ravingPyrotechnician No, it is not lol
Most of the time people don't like altered origins or characteristic for an established character because it takes something good and makes it worse.
Isaac is the polar opposite case, considering his, uh, colorful original design. The changes implemented in the netflix series made him my favorite character of the lot.
From a boy who seeks the love of Dracula, to a conqueror and King, carrying out his own will and his own wishes, earning Dracula’s love all over again.
I generally dislike swapping of any sort like yourself. However... I thought the original was terrible, and found the Netflix one to be very good.
So this went well.
Isaac and Sypha were my favorite characters in the series. Their development and growth was AMAZING to watch! Thanks for this vid, bro!
Most def. Your appreciation for the video is most welcome.
Isaac won my heart, his character is amazing. I find it fascinating and even funny, how he is someone that used pain as a way to center himself, a response from trauma and in the other seasons compared to the rest of the cast Isaac barely got hurt. His journey was on his mind and character and it was so beautiful to see. For someone who only saw the worst in humanity to end up being someone that sees hope in them, we can see the pieces turning in his head as this evolution comes
Issac was perfectly written I can relate to his struggles intimately.
I have the same feeling when I was younger I’m 24 when I was in teenager I didn’t know what I wanted. Only thing I live for was my family and my grandpa. All I wanted was to make them happy. All I wanted was to make them smile, all I wanted is to be by my side when I need them.
Everything changed after grandpa died. I doubted myself I thought I was a bad grandson because I wouldn’t. I didn’t want to see him like that slowly away in my grasp when I hold his hand, comforting him, they put me through tears for the man who helped me turn into , it was my grandpa. My grandpa was a strong man who was. Kind and gentle but strong surviving different things of life and war in his time.
He was a soldier that fought in Vietnam, and he saw the horror of the world .
Didn’t he wanted to be a better person he wanted to teach his grandchildren, his children .
Until the very end .
After a week and they got him ready for the funeral I didn’t know what I wanted anymore until now I wanted to learn I wanted to read. I wanted to cook more. I want to feel the wind in my face and a hot sun beaming on me while I relax in the sun looking up at the sky until I see twilight of the stars.
Yes, that’s what I truly wanted to have and enjoy life.
But there’s not a date that goes by they miss my grandpa. I wish it was here. I feel like some days I can’t do anything without him and I need guidance but he’s with me in my heart even if I feel like I’m going the wrong way.
He’s still with me to guide me to make sure I’m going a good path to be a good man and a good uncle to my family to teach them and guide them
Outstanding analysis. Isaac's revamp is one of, if not the best character changes I've come across. Truly added a lot more depth and intrigue to the story.
Isaac is my comfort character, I love him for all the reasons that are exposed on this video, it’s the best character. I have related to him on too much things (sadly one of them is self harming for feeling my body is dirty), and how he accepts he is a human, how he wants to just be kind but people are shit, I love him so much, he has made me remain here, he is now my comfort character. I just want to hug him and tell him “thanks, you made my life better”
I almost cried writing this xd
As the story progressed I became more and more interested in Isaac’s character arc to the point where I was more excited to see him on screen than any of the other characters. He even had one of if not THE best fight scenes in the series. The first thing that came to mind when I watched him fight Carmilla was the fight between Naruto and Sasuke vs Momoshiki. He’s definitely earned the title of best character in my opinion
The most unstoppable transformation to be sure. Almost unrecognizable to his introduction IMO. Loved how much care his scenes and animation got in the later seasons, definitely a god-send.
Isaac's literally my fav character in the whole Castlevania Netflix series... They wrote a legend with this character!
I never played the Castevania games. Had it not been for clips of the anime's fights on youtube I came across, I never would've given the series a thought.
I've watched the anime three times from start to finish and I can't get enough!
I love Isaac and his story. Its definitely a highlight of the show. And finding out he's a redesign from his video game counterpart was a genuine surprise to me. (Insert Palpatine surprise Meme here)
The journey from stoic, no nonsense devotion to Dracula, who would've killed Hector as soon as he laid eyes on him, to the pinnacle of what a human being should strive to be, forgiving Hector and even seeing the errors in Dracula's desires is such a captivating experience to watch.
Thank you for taking the time and dedication to highlight such an amazing character.
Man, I never played the games so when I watched the show I had no preconceived notions. And Isaac's character was simply amazing.
Isaac’s journey to personal freedom is so well put together.
I'm not free and that's why I'm here haha.
Issac and Hector are easily my favorite characters, the way season 3 and 4 played with them, made me very happy for Issac, and sympathetic of Hector
I am SO glad I stumbled on this vid. Isaac is - without question - the single greatest part of this series. Every word, every action, every interaction - flawless. This is, for me, Isaac's story more than any other character's. Breath of fresh air ain't even in it. As a military fantasy/horror author, I've rarely if ever seen so perfect a characterisation - an arc so flawlessly executed.
Thanks for making the vid, man.
Appreciate it & very glad you enjoyed this analysis.
Isaac is a masterfully written character and I genuinely think he has the best character growth since Zuko. I very much enjoyed this insightful analysis. Isaac also has a very cool weapon, I can’t be the only one who wants a replica of this knife.
I agree. Issac's changes were at first kinda odd. But i'm damn glad they did it cause he's one of the best characters in the series.
Your analysis was fantastic. I agree with another comment, this video should have more views. Very well done. Please keep doing your thing!
I really appreciate it dude. Plan to do more retrospectives for various characters I love from different franchises.
Issac is definitely the stand-out charecter in Netflix's Castlevania. Granted I adore Trevor, Sypha and Alucard, the dialogue is also top notch. But the sheer odyssey of Issac and his transformation is so compelling it's hard not to route for the guy.
As for the swaping of his race? Well That's a tricky situation. I think that certain charecters can tell certain stories better. I also do not believe that when it was written having Issac being a colored man was even a thought that would have been mildly entertained (yes I know it would have been 90's to early 2000s but "optics" for the time probably wouldn't have allowed for that).
More importantly though I belive in leting the strength of a story do the talking. Issac is a compelling character, race be damned. A talented storyteller can make any character regardless of race, gender, orientation by grounding them in one critical trait we all share "humanity".
This! So much this! Everything feels well crafted and put together. The character and his arc MAKES SENSE and has been well thought out. It’s not done to fill some quota! It actually adds to and improved the story!
The characters are actually PEOPLE!
In series full of amazing and interesting characters. Isaac stands out as one of my favorites in any media ever.
I really loved his development, this video also made me remember things I forgot about him. Great video.
Appreciate you checking out the video and engaging
I'm not gonna lie. the more I was watching the show, the more I wanted to see Isaac than anyone else in the show just for his development
This is so damn good… Isaac’s growth in the series is so beautiful, and so hopeful. Thank you for detailing it like this!
Hector hates death but learns to accept it, Isaac hates life but learns to appreciate it.
This video explains perfectly why Netflix Issac is my favorite characters in any 2010 + story.
Isaac is the one Ginger to Black swap I will accept, and there's been a lot of that recently... He is a better character than his original counterpart. If you're going to change a character so radically, do it to make that character a better version of themselves. Not just to tick to a box.
Exactly! Couldn't have said it any better.
Isaac was such an unbelievably well written character
Isaac from the anime is one of my favorite characters in all media so happy this anime was my first contact with the franchise
Thank you for making this vid. I love and relate with Isaac and I kept hoping that he would receive a spin off
This!! I love consuming contents about this man because of how relatable he is.
Videos like this is the exact reason why I tried to finish Castlevania before watching reviews and I am so glad I did so. This video explains exactly how I felt about Isaac and his entire odyssey in the show. The dialogues, the philosophy, the witty banter is just so amazing.
Additionally I was blown away by what he originally looked and act like, and I am pretty happy with the change. Glad to see this video and I hope to see more from you in the future.
Appreciate you dude! Definitely have more in store down the line
One subtle detail I love about Isaac's growth is the clothing he wears. He starts off with his iconic black, red and gold scheme. And as soon as he given a second chance at life by Dracula; His color scheme starts to deteriorate. He starts losing pieces of his clothing given by Dracula, showing he's slowly and methodically becoming his own person. He soon starts to wear a color scheme like Hector, with blue representing his humanity. Now with a dark blue and gold scheme, He's finally shed off Dracula's shadow and became Isaac, the human.
That is so true. I also noticed and forgot to mention that in my script for this video but I'm very glad someone else picked this up.
@@KaizokuSleven just another reason why we love Isaac and the Castlevania Series. And your commentary was golden, keep up the amazing work.
@@datboiashy2957 Appreciate it man. Currently working on the next batch of character analysis for this series
Would love to see a spin-off for Isaac. My favorite character. He’s so interesting and mysterious at the same time. The voice actor deserves all the awards.
Great video!
I really really like this character. His mysterious nature and quiet way is so well written. His character design is amazing, this is second character I feel like a Netflix anime that was amazing and I really resonated with thru out the series, Zeus in “Blood of Zeus” is the other one.
The Sufi background of Issac is so so well done, if I can add. His robe (Khamis or kandora in UAE region) is perfect. How he is wearing black khamis when he is Dracula’s Army, he covered with a white cape, when he finds the magic mirror, I think he sees true self and start to appreciate life, his takes off his rope in the conquest battle, to show us a bright blue khamis. The fight with legion, the dull light on his blue khamis *chef kiss*
Two other things I noticed, how he holds his knife and spins looks like he is doing a Sufi whirling. He does a perfect spin in the Camila fight. That is more common in Turkey with Dervish’s.
When Dracula comes to ask for his help, Issac talks about dogs. That could be a subtle hint at the relationship with Hyenas and Sufi Muslims in Harar, Ethiopia.
Sorry for tl;dr 😂
Interesting...Thank you for that insight on Sufi culture. I was not aware of these details
@@KaizokuSleven No problem, And I highly thank you for making this video.
I want a game, novel, movie or something based on this version of Isaac. He is, by far, the greatest character to come out of this anime series. The only other character that comes closes is this series version of Dracula(because of his depth). But I just loved everything about Isaac.
Your narration, and also, the musical piece backing it is beautiful, your dissection of Isaac's story is amazing and I hope I can see more of your content in the future!
Truly appreciate that sir
Honestly Isaac is badass, personally my favorite character is Trevor just because I love the whip animation, but you've made some great points and that fight with Carmilla was badass!
Understandable, Trevor is meant to be the generic favorite being that he's a Belmont making him the default protagonist of the series. He's def my 2nd favorite after Isaac
@@KaizokuSleven Wait... I forgot about Sypha O_O
... she's hot (also, Carmillas pretty hot too tbh, maybe I should rethink this) 🤔.
@@weabooedgelordiv1621 Take your time bro lol
This is a perfect video and analysis of one of the greatest characters in fiction and his conversations with Flys-eyes (the talking night creature) are some of the best story telling I've ever seen, thank you for this
Hector was a beast on his game, Curse of Darkness. But Isaac is the MVP of the Netflix series.
"Life smiles, death laughs, wisdom is amused" -magister daire
Truly though, your perspective is expansive and needful. And by me personally...loved. thank you for your work
Appreciate you for giving my POV a chance
P sure he's the only black character I've seen that actually has character development. Love him so much. 😢
Very well made narration, well done! The character development of both Issac and Hector are great to look back on in retrospect. One of my favorite arcs in the show, glad his journey is getting the recognition it deserves
Appreciate you for checking out the content and sharing the same love for such a well done character like Isaac.
Isaac is literally one of the best characters in any animated media ever, he’s so well portrayed and performed, all of his scenes are captivating and philosophical. Truly made the series so much more interesting to follow.
*Isaac is one of those characters that people really rooted for on his jounery of self discovery.*
Isaac was for me the best surprise about Castlevania: initially I thought it was just the stoic zealot follower of Dracula, but seeing him walk his path of self-discovery questioning himself and his motives to become his own person was really rewarding. It went from being just someone's minion to literally the protagonist of his own story, and personally I found the parts with him the highlight of season 3.
This rewrite was a masterwork.
This video is so wonderfully made. I love issac not only for the representation (didn’t know about the race swap before this vid) but how his character and growth was amazing.
Appreciate you for checking it out 🙂
I haven’t seen castlevania yet but it’s been on my Netflix list forever lol. You might have just convinced me to watch this. I played one of the games when I was 20, and honestly really loved it! Great video again, but this time I’m not going to watch it til the end. I don’t want it spoiled too much haha
Take your time, the series is well worth the binge! It will honestly convince you to play some of the older games in the series lol
I swear Isaac has become my fav anime character of All time ...
Haha
I played Curse of Darkness when it first released and I loved it, so when I heard the forgemasters would be a part of the Animated Series, my expectations were high already but I wasn’t expecting them to be blown away. I loved Isaac’s arc in this, and completely agree that this is the absolute correct way to enhance a character in a different direction from the core material. Loved the video!
Always the most interesting dialogue from Isaac, didn’t matter who he was talking to.
The one rare time a swap of this kind goes EXTREMELY well. This was an amazing character, he is awesome and I hope he lived well.
Issacs changes work so well because they make him so much more interesting as a contrast to Hector. Instead of Hector's counterpart being just a generic masochistic lunatic, we get a genuinely compelling character that feels more 3 dimensional than just a generic villainous counterpart
So, Doom, Berserk , and Castlevania... I think I found gold. Focusing on Issiac my favorite character,
For me, Issiac was a background character almost that immediately stood out and I gravitated to. And like you said I became engrossed with his subtle development. I guess I loved his (usual) calm demeanor and .. idk just a character that clicked for me
The algorithm finally delivered gold. Consider me subscribed. Now excuse me while I deep dive all your vids. See you in the comment section
Isaac was such a brilliant character, I honestly don’t think season 4 would have worked without him, and this was a really great analysis of him, you did a great job of explaining his growth throughout the narrative.
Isaac is such a magnificent character. He's solidified himself as not just the best character in this show, but also one of the best I've ever seen!
Great breakdown. His growth was always refreshing.
I can’t be the only one who can’t stop seeing the parallels of Dracula+Issac and Dio+Pucci
Love the progression from thinking "this man is definitely going to die" to Isaac eventually stating: "I am going to live"
This was a good change in character. Honestly he quickly became my favorite character in the series
I can see why.
When i watched this video this morning it was at about 8k views, now it's climbing to 9.6k. Good shit man, quality video analysis
Finally 🎉, someone who GETS IT. Isaac's journey is truly mesmerizing. Going from an apparently one note character to being someone I'd love to see a series with him as the protag.
Bruh, your dissection of Issac and you measured and weighted words...much like Issac brought me to tears. Thank you for making this content and thank you for sharing this with the world. Much love.
I appreciate that, going to share more of the similar.
I think his story is one of duality that learns of oneness. Love this video! 🖤
I love castlevania but cannot tell you how much I’ve enjoyed rewatching Isaac’s arc and episodes over amd over again
I'm so glad you made this video essay, Isaac is my most favorite character from the animated series
Isaac is the whole reason I watched the show. And Carmilla called him "the most uninteresting man in Dracula's court." Bitch, what do you mean?
The part where Isaac uses the demons to build a temple reflects the biblical story of the Great Magician Solomon...
Solomon

Isaac has had the most development out of all the characters on this show. He went from wanting to wash his hands with humans to wanting to help them be better. I hope he does it
Isaac was the best set of choices they made, and I will stand by that. A villain who makes perfect sense as someone who has been completely and unjustly alienated, could be a complete monster, and still has the capacity to grow and become a better person in an organic way is gold among straw.
The Sufi mysticism leading to his own Conference of the Birds trials, and the Gnostic-style travel from worship of a demiurge (an admittedly complex and not entirely unsympathetic one) to the pursuit of a kingdom of heaven as best he understands it is just *chef's kiss* from a philosophical and theological consistency standpoint.
This is a video I was waiting for. Issac is probably my favorite character of the series by far. He grows so much. And you get to watch it the whole 4 seasons.
AMAZING VIDEO! well thought out analysis of a great character. you definitely deserve more attention to your channel
This is a logically coherent and compelling animated analysis. Excellent job and thanks for providing insight into Isaac's character.
Truly appreciate it and glad you enjoyed the video
