It's a separate universe from the games and considering the maturity of sypha and Trevor vs. Alucard, you wouldn't be wrong to assume that the two of them are older than Alucard because it is implied
@@theeldenbeast i believe it is implied that Alucard is very young, Sypha even makes a joke about it explaining why he is so moody. The impression i had watching is that both her and Alucard are young adults, middle 20's at most, while Trevor is a little older, maybe early 30's. But that's just me.
@TvTrollByIvy yea, the first time I watched the show, something mentioned when the first traveled to the Belmont estate and Trevor reminisced about his child hood and stated that his family was excommunicated when he wad around the age of 13 and Alucard said that he was disturbed that the himself had more of a childhood than Trevor made me almost think Alucard likely couldn't be older than twenty maybe even younger and then their is the fact that Alucard states that he matures faster than normal humans you might not be far off to state that Alucard would possibly be only 16-20 or so years of age.
When he hung those Japanese brother and sister on his gate. I can see his disappointment in humanity and slowly turning cold. It makes vampire as a race tragic, betrayed over and over to turn lone and possesive. That scene make me rethink how he/Dracula can easily get misunderstood just by seeing his door
I always wanted Alucard to run across Isaac, as Greta didnt really feel like a solution to his growth that wraps up all loose ends. Isaac was the knife - and became the hand, through Draculas last order (or, rather, toss through a mirror.) Alucard never learned this for himself, and instead remains a Knife at the disposal of Greta and the village. Seeing as how Isaac is, in a sense, Alucards 'brother' in that Dracula was the man who shaped him as well, it would have been quite symmetrical. The fact that Isaac, iirc, refers to Alucard as spoiled child would make their confrontation better; Isaac grew up through draculas last action, and his own action would force Draculas son to grow up as well. Oh well. This is why it should have been 5 seasons.
I completely agree they should have had u as a writer. Just seemed like a really loose story structure over all! I liked the show but not liked it wasn't connected well.
Hector would have been good to talk to as well. To warn Alucard against transactional kindness. Alucard wants a community that will accept him as he is and have his back in fight. Greta needs Alucard as a warrior for her people. Alucard, in his kindness, is willing to help people in honor of his mother. This works, but the thing that sours it for me is how Greta was talking to Alucard in their last conversation. "I offered my plan in a way that made you think it was your plan." She's playing mind games with him, and that doesn't bode well further down the road. Like Kaizoku said in his video about Hector, Hector wanted to be accepted, wanted, and praised for his abilities. That desire and his blind following makes it easy for Carmilla and Lenore to use him for their own agendas or desires. They play on his own desires and wants to get him into a position where they are on top. Hector recounts his experiences between Dracula's death and the slaying of Death to Alucard, saying that giving aid to a cause isn't a bad thing, but you have to maintain some control or charge over what you bring to the table. When people pick up on the fact that you will do things for them in exchange for acceptance or support, what they promise you, can become fake while they use you. You become a tool in their hands. You need to make sure you become a hand holding theirs. So that it stays a mutual agreement.
Your description of him being at the direction of the company he desires sounds like Issac's revelation of being the knife or the hand that wields the knife. One of the best things about Castlevania was the character growth was subtle and not in your face.
Castlevania needed one more season to wrap up Alucard's character arc. In the last episode he has grown so much. He is happy, he is at peace with his identity, he has friends, he is well on his way to finding his life purpose, and he is starting to vocalize his feelings and desires. The last step is making big life decisions on his own. He needed the direction until now because of how broken he was, but it's time to shake off the last bits of codependency on others. He is so, so close. I also want follow up on Isaac. And maybe Isaac/Hector and Alucard to have a nice chat about their complex relationships with Dracula.
Well, a fifth season isn’t happening. While a spin off is in the works, I doubt we’ll see the same trio again. But, considering how long Alucard can live for, perhaps the writers may yet find a way to conclude Alucard’s story. Time will have passed, but perhaps flashbacks can paint a picture of the finality of Alucard’s character growth. It’s actually hard to say what type of storyline we we’ll see in Castlevania Nocturne.
"The funny thing is- for the first time in my life, I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next." That's Adrian's end-of-arc quote right there. For any other character, that might be worrying. For him? It's freeing. He's got a long life now to devote to whatever he wishes.
Though it’s unfortunate this show never received a fifth season, I’d argue that everything wrapped relatively nicely. It all ends on a hopeful note, as the dusk of a dark and scared world falls, the main cast and others look on to a bright future, and a joyful dawn. The Belmont Estate and Dracula’s Castle being in the same vicinity, and the site of a village’s founding, also promises the knowledge of countless generations and immortals is maintained to ensure humanity and the world’s progress. Instead of a dark age of fear, violence, and death.
"Can you imagine growing up an only child with no friends and no community to belong to because your lineage is conflicting. And when you start to find yourself as an individual, you lose both your parents." Fucking roast me why don't you, damn
I'm fully expecting to see Alucard in Netflix Nocturne it's gonna be interesting to see his growth after a couple of generations and interactions with Richter which I'm expecting to be a uncle/nephew dynamic.

Its not gay if they aren't totally human! But no, seriously, he really is an absolutely gorgeous man. Boi deserves a lover who will make him feel like a queen.
Alucard is actually very similar to his dad in how he reacts to situations mentally. Dracula started his massacre of humanity with such passion and intensity, then fell into utter depression and never left the castle for the remainder of his life. Similarly, Alucard committed his heart and soul to killing his father, but as soon as it was done, even though he theoretically had a new mission and new life, he too became a depressed recluse. Both of them have a proclivity to depression and severance from the world, and need the active presence of friends and family (Lisa for Dracula, Trevor and Sypha for Alucard) not to give into their worst instincts.
Hah, I just found out, from this video, that Alucard is Dracula backwards, bloody sweet. These character analyses never disappoint. With Isaac being my favourite character, Alucard's definitely second, mostly due to how much I relate to him and his internal conflict. That and he is so hot holy shit, but that's irrelevant, lol. Though I wasn’t too fond of season 3 with the betrayal scene, I still loved this story overall. I even wrote a fanfic about Alucard after season 3 before season 4 started (which sadly is not finished due to burnout of the idea) but I do have him meeting another dhampir, giving him a chance to spend time rebuilding his faith in humanity and giving him friends and new adventures. Though this video is late, this is making me feel the old spark to work on that story again.

Nice analysis! As a fan of Alucard, I still have this love and hate feelings with the netflix show bcs of what they did to him in S3. His arc feels pointless and that certain eps feels like a cheap way to explore his character (kinda ooc too). What I mean with pointles is that, after the thing with Sumi and Taka, I thought he was gonna be more careful and distrustful but none of that happened. I understand him still helping ppl, but not when he was readily accept strangers (most importantly st.germain) into his castle. I do like him being kinda funny in the show but sometimes I miss his game character. I find his game character charming bcs of his social ineptness and was perplexed by the intricacies of human interaction. He was also already accept that he will always outlive his human friends that also cause him to accept that he will be alone. But I'm just glad that the show understand that he is a kind and selfless dhampir (a bit too selfless and naive tho). I hope in the next series, with a new writer, they can do him justice because there are some interesting stuff about Alucard that they can use to expand his character more.
YES YES THESE ARE MY EXACT FEELINGS FOR ALUCARD'S ARC It still felt incomplete and rushed by him doing these things that aren't logical for his character in my opinion. My dream is that when we get Nocturne, we'll be able to see the Alucard we know and love
the views on this dont represent the quality at all. amazing vid, I always look forward to your uploads and I really hope you continue, such good content
& that's all he needed, someone to reciprocate care. So thankfully he met Greta to steer him in the right direction and show affection at the same time.
Yo! Just watched the Dracula one. I am thoroughly enjoying your perspective, as a longtime fan of castlevania. I'm surprised there's not way more views, based on comparable content and the quality here. I think you'll do just fine sir
Appreciate that! Yea, I'm not too worried about the views. Just gotta continue and be more consistent so that YT can actually give my channel more opportunity to shine
As someone who works with hair and knows a bit about color theory, i think you done a little overthinking in the hair thing: he is clearly golden white haired in the original illustration and he only looks more ashen/grey/silver on the game sprites because of the graphical set up of the consoles at the time, where the only tones of gold would be too intense and not fit the concept art and illustrations. The golden white hair is meant as a otherworldly signifier, a good exemple of that is Galadriel on The Lord of The Rings. Now, my speculation is, Dracula as the villain, being a level 1 jet black hair, making his antithesis a white hair character makes sense, however, a cold toned white would likely evoque a felling of emptiness. Also, asian cultures sometimes depict cool toned white hair creatures as malignant. So a golden white makes more sense, because it has the light effect to counter Dracula's black, but it has a very subtle warmth of the gold to avoid the emptiness. The pale gold also indicates the nobility. It's a very easy choice for a character like Alucard. it makes him look noble, righteous and rare. ps: pretty sure the animation team modeled Lisa after Alucard and not the other way around, simply because you have more concept art and illustrations of him and see him in the source material, where her original designs were more "generic lady". He always had these features, you can see it in the same original illustration shown in the begining of the video. Again, he was desgined from the start to look like the opposite of Dracula, so everything in his design reflects that on both the source material (games) and in the show.
this video is really good the editing the music the b rolls and the writing you made for this video i hope you make more analysis on this show characters like for example Hector good video keep the great work!
Isaac is still my favorite character, cause he's Isaac, but I find Alucard very relatable I have really bad depression and anxiety, and it's been holding me back, because it feels like every step forward is 5 steps backward, and it sleft me in a state of limbo, having no idea what I want, honestly Alucard is lost too, just like me, and i hope one day I'll find some new purpose in life just like he does at the end of the series
Dang, I'm sorry that you are going through depression. All I can say is everything you need to live the life that you want is within you. external things can only give you the nudge to seek what's within and elevate. I hope you overcome it sooner than later & sending positive vibes your way man.
@@KaizokuSleven thanks man, I'm trying my best, and I'll get there eventually, I know it Great content btw, you're the only person I see analyzing these characters Can't wait till Nocturne comes out
I also feel like there's something to be said about the parallels between how alucard met sumi and taka and how his parents met. Not only was he lonely and aimless, but the only real relationship he got to see growing up was the result of a human seeking knowledge from a lonely, cynical vampire, who was ultimately changed by the bond they formed. It would make sense that when he is at his lowest, he might see sumi and taka's arrival as the start of the bond that might 'fix' him. It makes the betrayal almost worse, knowing that he did exactly what his father did, he took all the right steps, and it still wasnt enough to get the happy ending he grew up to expect.
I had never heard of the video game and it took me a while to watch this on Netflix. I had heard good things about it so I gave it a try and I liked how each character was portrayed. @@KaizokuSleven I mean I felt like people already revered him for being willing to fight and kill his own father to protect humanity even though humans killed his mother. However showing him losing his senses and falling into a strange desperate needy almost depression.
@@KaizokuSleven agreed. I love castelvania but they rushed through the seasons too quickly. I think we should've gotten 1 or 2 episodes focused on before Lisa's death. 1 where her and drac's love start to bloom and alucard is conceived. And another where alucard is younger and we see family life in the castle. Maybe see the minions reacting to seeing their boss Al warm and fuzzy. Or dracula introducing hector and isaac to the family

They did him dirty
@@akhandtripathipyz9888 Sadly yeah :')
YES YES THESE ARE MY EXACT FEELINGS FOR ALUCARD'S ARC
It still felt incomplete and rushed by him doing these things that aren't logical for his character in my opinion. My dream is that when we get Nocturne, we'll be able to see the Alucard we know and love
In nocturne it looks like they go with his original look of pale skin and silver hair
the views on this dont represent the quality at all. amazing vid, I always look forward to your uploads and I really hope you continue, such good content
Appreciate it. The views will come, I'm not worried about it bro
I would have been so kind to Alucard. I would have been in the castle making it a home. Putting flowers up. Dusting the drapes.
Great analysis keep up the great work!
I appreciate that, there's definitely more on the way. Stay tuned
this video is really good the editing the music the b rolls and the writing you made for this video i hope you make more analysis on this show characters like for example Hector good video keep the great work!
For sure! Definitely plan to make more character analysis videos for this series. Very glad to hear this content is good in your perspective.
Excellent use of the sotn soundtrack
Thank You 🙏
Castlevania good show
Indeed
@@KaizokuSleven big time
I adore Alucard, great job!
season 3 nah bs he is fine look he is normal does normal stuff *camera shows trevor and syphia doll* ohhh shit
🤣🤣
Isaac is still my favorite character, cause he's Isaac, but I find Alucard very relatable
I have really bad depression and anxiety, and it's been holding me back, because it feels like every step forward is 5 steps backward, and it sleft me in a state of limbo, having no idea what I want, honestly
Alucard is lost too, just like me, and i hope one day I'll find some new purpose in life just like he does at the end of the series
Dang, I'm sorry that you are going through depression. All I can say is everything you need to live the life that you want is within you. external things can only give you the nudge to seek what's within and elevate. I hope you overcome it sooner than later & sending positive vibes your way man.
@@KaizokuSleven thanks man, I'm trying my best, and I'll get there eventually, I know it
Great content btw, you're the only person I see analyzing these characters
Can't wait till Nocturne comes out
This show 🎯🎯
I also feel like there's something to be said about the parallels between how alucard met sumi and taka and how his parents met.
Always said Alucard looks like the love child of Lestat De Luoncourt and Sephiroth....
😂😂 That is hilariously accurate
The Glory of gassin up our boy Soma. This video is phenomenal, thank you
Also, thanks for sotn music. Love it.
Glad you picked up on it lol
Your content is top tier man, great video essay!
Truly appreciate that 🙏
I had never heard of the video game and it took me a while to watch this on Netflix. I had heard good things about it so I gave it a try and I liked how each character was portrayed. I really felt bad for Alucard I always put myself in each characters shoes I thought they were all but perfect I wasn't annoyed at all. Now mind you I knew nothing about the story.
I just wanted more after watching it
I see Alucard as the hero version of Sephiroth from FF7
I have a theory that he may look like an adult, and behave like one, but he's acutely 13 to 15. But that's just a theory ..... "a Castlevania theory!"
LOL "Thanks for watching"
No, he's 20 cuz he was born in 1456 and he met Trevor and Sypha in 1476.
Greta was treating Adrian like Lisa treated Vlad when they met. idk about you, but I dislike obvious parental parallels in love interests.
True. In response to the relationship you should equally dislike childish parallels as well then lol
You should do a review of every character in the show like Hector, Lenore, etc..
That's the plan my mans, mainly for the interesting characters. Just gotta find the time to get them all done lol
As if either of the characters(hector, lenore) are any good
I am sorry my son
Sir this is a McTreffor
😂😂
This is good!
This channel will grow big
You are doing awesome brother!!!! i watched issac one! i love the way u elaborate its beautiful...i wish u would also make a video of souls games like bloodborne, sekiro and elden ring....it wud be great ...keep it up! love from india
Appreciate it Brotha! I would love to do breakdowns/Retrospectives on those titles
@@KaizokuSleven" cant wait to see it!!!
Buddy check out Alucards new makeover in Nocturne!
Act just watch vampire D fron 80s I think. More exact profile for this guy.
It's on my list to watch. Currently watching Hellsing then gonna dive into Vampire Hunter D.
I suggest u check out the anime hellsing unlimited. Like your character break downs. figure that one would be far more intriguing 🤔.
That's so funny, I'm literally watching that series now 🤣
Please do wolf rain or cowboy bebop
1st I've heard of Wolf Rain but I'll look into doing both for future analysis vids
Cool video man, and I don’t know if anyone has already told you, but your voice sounds like Alucard (sotn).
Thanks man , definitely the 1st time someone said I sounded like him lol
@@KaizokuSleven No problem :)
And yes you sound a little like alucard (in the game sotn).
Have a good day.
Only thing I don't like about Alucard is that it always sounds like he is whispering, speak up dude
YO! I thought I was the only person who felt this way 🤣
I'll keep rewatching, you made a great video mon. You just sound like a college millennial 😊. You're like the Alucard that'll always put me down no matter how I try to help you lol. I hope you're weirdly happy before you turn into a Belmont like me. Bless you mon, hope you have a Greta
Lol appreciate you my guy! Stay tuned for more on the way
@@KaizokuSleven right on bra. Sorry if I ever sound critical, I just know true friends are honest and no real person needs a sycophant. I can't wait to see more castlevania, especially about Treffy, my favorite drunk. I've never seen a character anywhere more identical to me but I just scare vampires instead of kill them in America these days. Lol
Only question I ever thought was hard, do I like Trev or do I like Alucard. Spend every weekend at the Renaissance fair got my name on my underwear. Lol, great how your video pops up but it's making me white and nerdy. Kidding man, but I gotta hear Isaac's voice now lol. Again, you got a solid voice bra; hope to see a Trevor video, I'm that kind of drunk🤙
Please do essay about lenore
they really fucked up ;no pun intended; his character in season 3
I thought so at 1st too but I realized that they needed that time to develop him into a character people can sympathize with other than revering him for his fighting abilities.
@@KaizokuSleven I mean I felt like people already revered him for being willing to fight and kill his own father to protect humanity even though humans killed his mother. However showing him losing his senses and falling into a strange desperate needy almost depression.
@@GiRR007 Yea I get it but stragely it's what makes him relatable for those who are primarily new to Castlevania. BUT I don't disagree
@@KaizokuSleven his season season 3 character arc led to nowhere
He turned to what he was before s3
Dayum ninja!
2:00 Umm... Have you checked Nier duology?
Gabriel is a fan favorite?
I believe his hair will go silver with age
and probs his eyes too haha
If he makes an appearance in the followup series? We shall see lol
@@KaizokuSleven yup!
in that and any series that may follow after haha
specilly if we get the more modern castlevanias
When you mentioned Greta do yoy not like her
I do...went into a whole segment explaining why she was necessary for Alucard's growth & how important she is.
Greta was like his mother
Yea in a way she was mothering him and His personality is suited for it.
Wouldn't alucard interact with dracula's servants
I would genuinely believe so, especially since Isaac recognized him as soon as he turned up with Trevor and Sypha
@@simon-peterwilliamson2412 That would've been fantastic to see. It's all about the details
hello do you have a video on Trevor Belmont
Not yet but I am working a character analysis for him and a few other Castlevania characters soon. So stay tuned for when they drop 🙂
I’m a little curious what is the background music you use in the video?
Just a compilation of themes from SOTN game
Are you going to do one on Varney?
I'd love to soon.
Love your content. 🇳🇵🇳🇵
Appreciate you for giving my content a chance
❤
Alucard is autistic and he likes Greta because she's direct 😌
Who is Asian guy in those cutaways
@stevenhe
Will u do smth about Hector? Or Saint Germain?
Yes, I'm actually working on those along with Trevor.
@@KaizokuSleven Nice
'Form an identity by emulating the parent whos gender is identical' is a big societal generalisation and not always the case
Not always doesn't = the majority. This is why Fathers are important for developing boys and Mothers for the girls. It the 1st example they have in identifying with their gender/sex.
😟
Isac better
Alucard is my favourite castlevania character from the games but the animated show didn't do much justice to him
He is weak, gay(because of good writing) and lonely in the show
I'm not so sure about the weak and lonely part because he is definitely the tank out of the trio and ended up with Greta after Season 4.
@@KaizokuSleven significantly weaker than how he should be
Godbrand even said that he is almost as strong as Dracula which is true for the games too but here he just lost to Normal vampires
@@akhandtripathipyz9888 His power could be argue with "he is still young and the powerful Alucard we know of is from SoTN where he is much older and more experienced." but the powerscaling in the show was still so inconsistent.
I agree with you tho, I also dislike what they did to him especially in S3.
@@Newspaper.Ojisan i hope the next series does him justice
I don't want to see alucard with love interest I want to see him fight armies of monsters
@@akhandtripathipyz9888 I hope so man, I hope so. But fortunately, the netflix show isn't canon to the game.
Third season sucks in general and in addition did Alucard dirty.
It sucked outside of Isaac's arc.
Disagree. But each their own
It's entertaining to hear things castlevania but I give neither like nor dislike. Your voice is great, much better than 90% of youtubers. But your analysis doesn't have the depth of castlevania's deepest character.
The Messiah Complex explains it all. He's happy with Trevor and Sypha but he has a pride, befitting his stature. It's reoccurring that he should've stuck with his best friends as they all needed to grow together.
