      Dante Mk - doesn't provide the main function of the Whammy DT - i.e. tuning down

    Really like your Rocksmith content, I just really wish any of our guitars worked well with it, but there always seems to be issues with it not picking up what's played/heavy delay.

    Very helpful man. Have you heard of a Hipshot Gt2? It's basically a drop tuner lever. I'm getting one to use along side my DigiTech Drop so I can pretty much do any tuning as long as it's not an open tuning. XD

    Thanks for the review! I’m considering this pedal for Rocksmith myself. Or maybe a Variax? 🤔

    Love the musical content! Might have to pick up a Drop pedal now, gets a bit annoying having to keep drop tuning.

    just got this, thanks to your videos, total noobie to all things guitar, been plaaying rocksmith for like 3 years now, and constantly tuning up and down, this is gonna be a game saver!
    just wanting some hhelp/advice as i'm new to guitar tech, so would a tuner pedal improve the tone? i've currently just got rocksmith cable, to drop pedal, to guitar! just wondering if i use a patch cable and a tuning pefal if it will help improve tone quality for rocksmith etc or is it pretty much just for tuning? silly question i know, not worded greatly, apologies for that

    Does going this route require running it through and amp or does it just got from guitar to pedal and then real tone into the computer?

  • @dazzmetcoll3843
    @dazzmetcoll3843 6 років тому

    Sounds great so is it just Guitar to cable to pedal then real tone cable to pc is that correct or are u playing through an amp ?

    Great vid, definitely something I never knew I needed until now. Does it work the same for a Bass? I hate down tuning my bass because, as you said, the strings are then too loose and flop around.

    • @Kirioth
      @Kirioth  7 років тому +1

      timhead4640 I'll check that tomorrow and get back to you! Don't see any reason as to why it wouldn't though

    In Rocksmith do you need 3rd and 6th? I'm asking this because Digitech Ricochet has more options but without the 3rd and 6th pitch.

    this will be an interesting purchase, I don't putting unneeded stress on guitars with heavier strings.

    The review I was looking for! Although I have a question: wouldn't you be able to hear your own guitar acoustically in E Standard while the output converts to, say, Eb Standard? Don't the two clash, or is it not audible?

    • @GrimSchwede
      @GrimSchwede 6 років тому +1

      Good question, I can hear my guitar, so I would imagine the two sounds clash somewhat. Not sure if I could ignore this fact..

    I don't play guitar but this looks like an awesome, really helpful peace of kit. It has been a long time since I watched a rocksmith stream, are you 100%ing all the songs you played fine sir?

  • @quantumxqueen7329

    Question. How would I use this pedal in Rocksmith? Gonna be picking up one this week.

    • @Kirioth
      @Kirioth  7 років тому +6

      So you'll need a power supply for the pedal, and an instrument cable. Signal chain is Guitar -> Pedal -> Real Tone Cable -> PC. Once it's all plugged in, just play Rocksmith as normal, but instead of retuning just change the setting on the pedal!

  • @Fromagreatheight
    @Fromagreatheight 6 років тому +4

    Retuning your guitars for different tunings is obnoxious. It's what I used to do when I started, and it's a pain in the ass, because it ruins the tension of your string, and makes the strings stress out faster, which leads to breaking strings quicker.
    It's just not worth it. A pitch shifter is really great if you don't have multiple guitars.

    • @Kirioth

      It's an ESP LTD EC-331. It's changed a bit today though! I've replaced some of the old hardware with locking tuners and a roller bridge and new tail.

    How is Rocksmith for people that have never played a guitar, is there any mode that teaches the basics?

    • @inncubus666
      @inncubus666 7 років тому +1

      There are lessons and it builds up the songs slowly too; at the rate you're picking it up (more or less) and you can fiddle with a load of things in it to customise your experience more. I'm pretty bad but it's meant I can enjoy playing along with a load of my favourite songs etc. It's maybe not a complete substitute for other things but it is really very good; well worth it. Load of little practice "games" as well like a duck hunt type of thing to get you used to picking out the right notes and a ninja running on poles to help learn slides while keeping it more interesting than just doing it without any feedback. I debated whether or not to get it for a good while but it's one of my best purchases I reckon; and it was one of Kiri's streams finally convinced me to shell out :)

    And if you have a trem and a d-tuna you don't even need to tune down the one string

    I dont like rocksmith id play a note and it takes around 5 seconds to register the sound. It will mess up my ability to play in time

    The comment that C Standard sounds flabby is accurate to how a guitar in C standard would sound. Great review though.
