You just answered my question, I will only go from standard to half step and whole step down and I have a guitar with a floyd so I can now play some pantera without having a headache while tuning down the floyd
Thats why I am looking.
and Sepultura
Ffdp
Lol exactly why I got it. I bet half of the purchases are from guys wanting to play Pantera with standard tuned Floyds.
@@timeiseverything4 And Nightwish. And Death. And... Damn. There's too many of them.
Steve, you're (in my opinion) the best guitar teacher out here on UA-cam. Your videos really helped me, and they still do. I just wanted to say thank you for doing all of this!
I wanna like but it’s at 69
I just want to thank you for the way you reviewed this thing. Answered our questions about how it sounds, ran through the settings and showed the full effect, THEN talked about it. A guitarists guitarist man.
Perfect demo!! You did this so well. The same riff every time and just stepping through the operations of the pedal. Thanks and I am sold buying one today
I never knew something like this even existed, so many songs I can learn now. I only keep my guitars in standard and something like this is would be fantastic
This guy is not only very talented. I think his greatest gift is teaching. He just make things easier. I have looked at all the ones on UA-cam trying to find someone. He is the best in my opinion. Thanks Steve your a blessing for us trying to learn the guitar
Best review for this pedal I've seen. Very descriptive in answering questions I had. Especially with what to expect with the latency
Hi Steve - I hope you start doing more gear reviews. I really dig the way you explain stuff. Always a pleasure to watch you teach.
You covered everything in perfect detail. Great review!
Great review Steve. I'm getting this pedal based upon your review. Keep up the great work.
Bought one but the larger combo DT Whammy and now it is my FAVORITE go to pedal. Been playing doom death type metal with it and works great. Great for making playing easier than messing with strings and floyd rose. Most good metal is in E flat tuning like Slayer and Sabbath and most harder core stuff down to Drop C# and some in Drop B!
This pedal saves me so much time while trying out different riffs/sounds and experimenting.
This is fantastic. I recently bought a new RG with a double-locking/floating trem, and while I love the guitar it's a real pain in the arse when I want to drop a half step to get that "90's Alt/Metal" sound that I grew up on and love. This pedal addresses that issue with the touch of a button which could prove to be invaluable. I actually kind of enjoy the tinkering and setup involved with a floating tremolo system, but having the ability to drop a half or whole step on the fly is awesome!
Great info that goes beyond most videos regarding latency, staying in tune, etc. This answered questions I had in my mind about the pedal and how it feels to use it. I have one arriving tomorrow and can't wait to try it out.
Let me know how it works for you!
Love your videos dude. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the review Steve. We just returned from a European tour a few weeks back where the airline lost our gear. Trying to find baritone scale guitars to borrow/rent was basically impossible (we play six string 27" guitars in drop A#), so we had to just make due with regular scale and very heavy strings slapped on, which worked but wasn't ideal. We're now considering buying these as a safety backup for those situations, and your review has helped in that decision. Thanks again!
The best 180 bucks I've spent yet. I love my drop.
Not sure if i want this or whammy dt
@@mitchconnerandsometimesjlotoo my same issue
Great review. Keep up the good work. That sounds pretty well. I might have to try one. Thanks Steve.
Hi from Brazil Steve, really nice demonstration and tips. Thanks!
Great review, thanks! That´s exactly what i wanted to know about it.
Damn you’re good.. enjoy the reviews and lessons mate. Really well done and informative
This is the best review I’ve seen regarding this pedal & now I’m 100% sold on it. Thanks man. Respect.
joseph bernard it's a great pedal. Far better than anything else out there for detune pedals. The pitch fork sucks and the POG still doesn't track as well as this. My experience anyway
Great video. The points you made were excellent.
Great demo and your playing is awesome.
Great vid and great teaching. You got yourself a new sub 👍🏽
thanks brother... this helps me understand a little bit more...I just got my D pedal yesterday...
Man I was in a Crue tribute (One guitar, one set. We did 4 set's). This would of made my life a lot more sane. Last setting would be great for 70's style harmonies. Last two points were great. Great metal pedal. like it. good review.
this video just sold me this pedal, cheers man
thankyou for this demo ilove it ireally would get this pedal🤘🏻
What a great invention!
Good video mate!!!
Keep up the good job.
Great demo, thanks.
I love your solo's, so nice
Nice tutorial ,...playing and tone man !....thanks !
Thank you for this valuable content...!
This was EXTREMELY helpful & informative ! Thanks , Steve ! Absolutely love this channel & will be spending months going through your back catalog .
Awesome!
Very good review! THX
Great demo!
Oh I have to get this pedal. My Ibanez RG has been stuck in E standard and drop D far too long!
Likewise! set the beast free! I love this pedal!!
Bought it. Worth it.
@@mitchellturnbull3988 what was the PSU, is it 220v or autovolt?
@@mitchellturnbull3988 I just ordered one!
it's AMAZING!! 😍 thanks man for the review, I'll buy it!! 😍😍
This pedal is a sublime gift from technology itself, amazing
Fantastic Review!
Def getting this!
Love this pedal! Great demo Steve! \m/
Thanks Steve! Now I am sure to buy it 👊🤘
Awesome video. You've got some chops my friend. Thank you!!
I own both pedals. Drop pedal for alternate tunings only. Pitch fork for harmonies and pitch shifting. Both pedals are great. Drop pedal is a must have on my pedal board. Have pitch fork on pedal board too but not a must have. Drop makes floating trem guitars hassle free and stop bar guitars you only need one guitar for gigs. Worth every penny. My back thanks digitech.
I need that badly. Thank you
gotta find one ....sounds kick ass..thsnk you Sir solid review
Interesting it tracks really well. Thanks for the demo.
It's a great sounding pedal. I use it often. The best for simple down tunings.
How's latency on this? Is it even noticable?
//didz there’s none to my knowledge
@@ididzy It's in the nanoseconds I think, you wouldn't notice it except "MAYBE" in fast runs, but probably only if you were watching a latency counter anyway.
Awesome review.
Very informative, thank you!
Ronald Gray, I Work at an industrial park which has an I industrial grade grinder. Huge rollers with tapered spikes staggered along the rollers. If a commercial size stainless steel refrigerator is toss in, it will bounce around, at first getting caught in a couple of teeth and thrown over to the other rollers. Eventually, the teeth grab it just rite and it pulls it through. The machine is so powerful that it barely draws any extra current, maybe 2 or 3 amps at most. Then those scraps fall into more fine tooth grinding wheels and so on until there's nothing left but tiny pieces of stainless metal. You know what I'm saying?
DigiTech Rocks - love the Drop pedal... very good review.
My band uses the Digitech Drop, both myself and the bass player has one. Very handy to not have to fool around with tuning a guitar down or having to bring a bunch of guitars! I want a 2nd one for my piezo signal.
I love this and i want one !
thanks for this! im getting a new ibanez very soon and i dont wanna damage it by tuning it up and down. thank you!
Nice review.
Very convincing demo, and awesome playing! Where do you prefer this on your chain, like how you did on this video?
Thanks a lot for this video ;-)
id buy this, only having 1 guitar, it's floyd rose, all my fav songs varies in tunies, if I don't have one, I'd be force to be stuck with that tuning till I finish the song but the case is that, the song I'm learning is hard af I need rest so I wanna cool down and learn some radiohead
about the changing in different tuning, I'm gonna use a headset
Great demo and assessment. Better than the reviews where they’ve been given the product. Wondering how it sounds with acoustic?
I love my drop pedal....Great video
great job
Very well explained!
Thank you :-)
I like how this pedal doesn't make it sound like the tone is being altered. I used to have a DigiTech Whammy pedal and when using the pitch shifting it the tone sounded fake-ish.
I'll start off by saying that you're the best guitar teacher that I've ever heard speak. You're very articulate and precise. Now for my question. I'm looking to play in Drop C and Drop Bb. The way I understand it is that this drop pedal will only drop all of the strings the same amount of semi-tones all at once. So it won't get me to Drop Bb which is 6 semi-tones lower than standard on the low E and 4 semitones lower on all the rest. Or Drop C which is 4 semi-tones lower on the low E and 2 semi-tones lower on all the rest. Am I correct? Should I just have two guitars ready to go? One in Drop C and one in Drop Bb? Seems like this would be the only solution.
Would have been nice if they added a single knob that adds pick attack and brightness into the signal so you can restore your sound to taste at lower tunings
Hey Steve, did you buy that anniversary Jem from WA? My buddy had the same one. Sweet demo dude!
You rock! 🤘🏻
Great review Steve. I think I hear a small drop in the high end frequency. Is it the video, my poor hearing or is it noticeable for you when you activate the pedal?
Your tone is killer man. What amp and other pedals besides the drop pedal are you using?
Thumbs Up for that quick solo before actual demo
Steve, just to reiterate what’s already been said here, you are amazing teacher and so good at explaining everything related to guitar playing. Your virtuoso playing is also such an inspiration!
Nice. You can move around any tuning without wearing out your strings.
That thing tracked great...
Vraiment très bien expliqué.
Thank you Steve!)
You are welcome!
Do you put this at the beginning of your effects processer or at the end. Not sure if it will make a difference. Thanks
Steve if you have this in your pedal chain, would it be placed at the end near a looper or closer to where the tuner would be?
Solid playing. Wish I could play like you brother. 😎
You absolutely can, just keep practicing!
Wow!!! That makes quit a difference. I like it.
Is this good for playing open chords with chords other than E, A, D and C?
So the closer to the root the better? For example 1/2 step be least latency?
I bought this pedal and am using a Marshall Dsl100hr. Do I plug the pedal into the effects loop at the before a chorus pedal?
Where do you put it in the signal chain for best results?
I dig it !
Ohhh man can't wait to try this for some motley crue
Does it lower the pitch up to seven half steps, and then suddenly jumps down an octave? Or does e.g. the light "3" represent both a minor and a major third down, with an additional way to distinguish between the two?
If I tuned my guitar to drop D so E standard but down tune the top E string a whole step down to D when I use the drop pedal will I be able to down tune to let’s say Drop A or can I only use it with standard tunings
i have that built in to rp1000 but i get bleed of original pitch. very very slight though, does this one do it?
The octave setting was rhythmic and funky. Bet it would be great to run into 2 amps . 1 being the norm set up and the other with that pedal on the octave. Thanks for the great video🖖✌
Like joe satriani on highway star
How can i clear the extra frequencies in notes when i solo? What do i use in amplifier?
where in the pedal chain is the best place for this? I am using a LIne 6 POD HD500X, and the pitch shifter in it isn't great, so I think this would be a better option, just need to know if it should come before the board or after
Can you use an expression pedal into the drop pedal?
So in E standard the 4th mode will sound like B standard right?
Is there a good pedal anyone can recommend to do the opposite? Pitch shifter maybe?
I want to be able to be in A-E and still have it sound good obviously
BECAUSE OF OF STEVE STINE LESSON I LEARNED A LOT
Should i put this pedal before or after my effects?
Does it a good job with other pedals such as distortion or wah?
WOW! Great Pedal! What chord is that? Sounds awesome!
