thanks for watching the video Changing Tunings in Rocksmith - DigiTech Drop pedal - BEST Pedal For Rocksmith 2014 Rocksmith+ - Розваги
I got mine Drop pedal a couple of months ago and I had a blast with it. But I would love to hear about the rest of your setup, including software.
I just picked one of these up a couple of weeks ago after hearing you talk about it on stream. By far the best pedal I own!
Just got one in the mail today and im ready to learn some arcitechts 🤘
@@spiritboxyxbox Architechts is really fun once you get the hang of some of their techniques, my favorite riff from thems gotta be the opening to royal beggars
I watched your video and bought one IMMEDIATELY !! Man I spent so many hours turning my strings into spaghetti ! This is the second time you save my life. The first time was when you showed us the way on how to get songs using the Custom Forge. Thank bro !! You are a life saver bro
I was talking to my guitar teacher about Rocksmith and he told me about you! Starting to love your vids!
What that's amazing
I always wondered how you cycled through so many tunings, thank you so much for the information. Love your stream keep up the great job man, you are one heck of an entertainer.
Definitely the most fun pedal ever. The octave + dry setting is awesome also. Love you Chain🤘
I got this as a Christmas present from my wife two years ago because of your stream. It is amazing.
This pedal has saved me from snapping so many strings going from D standard back up to E standard. Highly recommend it, or if you can afford it, the whammy version.
Thank you for your setup. I asked for that many times. Rock on dude
You might have just sold me with the semi tone option I've been looking at this pedal for a long time thank you chain brain
Works well for e flat!
I’ve had mine since last December and it’s the best pedal I’ve ever bought
Just got my digitech whammy DT, works a treat 🤘🏻
I would love to see a full tour of your streaming room!
Excellent review! I have mine and tuning is no longer a hassle :)
I got a Digitech Drop about a month ago and its made playing and streaming so much easier. No messing with tuning or floppy strings. Plus it was only £80 in the uk
Sauces of the mad?
@@colincheshire6366 language of the bread 😂
More than essential for Rocksmith streaming!
I bought one of these after watching your stream for a long time, I use it with both bass and guitar and it works really well with both. I use it with rocksmith and even when recording sometimes. thank chenbr0n for recommending
Might have to get myself one of these. Like you I only have the one guitar available for Rocksmith and I wanna learn some heavier stuff. My current setup is guitar into a small mixing desk that splits the signal and sends it to both my amp and the Realtone cable. My amp provides my tone plus the game audio via its 3.5mm audio input and I have the instrument sounds completely muted in Rocksmith. This completely eliminates latency that I'd otherwise suffer with due to running on a laptop. I came across some In Flames CDLC that is playable in Drop D even though the songs themselves are in Drop A#, the CDLC uses custom Rocksmith tones to match the pitch of the music (using a virtual pitch shift pedal). My amp has a pitch shift effect but doesn't sound too great when enabled, also I'd be limited to a very small number of "retuned" CDLC. A pedal like this would be perfect! Thanks for the video.
Very nice. thanks!
man i seriously need to get one of those would help out a lot with all the tuning's i like to play in
Omg dude you're a god damn life saver I have a guitar with a Floyd that I love but I can't use it with rocksmith outside of e standard
Recently discovered my digitech pedal board has this effect built in. Wooo!
Just Awesome
I had one for ages and I’m a floyd rose type of guy and it has helped me so I don’t have to restring my guitar and still use the pedal, word of advice to all floyd rose fans if your gonna go to drop D tuning, get another guitar and have it on a drop D only guitar so you don’t have to waste money on a another set of strings 👍
This doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. Gibberish
@Chainbrain oh yeah I also got that pedal for Christmas which is worth buying and so much easier for other guitarists who has major difficulty tuning a floyd rose guitar so I guarantee it 🤘🏻
I got a friend who's got that pedal, we had so much fun just turning the knob randomly while attempting to play melodies and riffs. Sounds so awful and we couldn't stop laughing, lmao.
Same reason why people liked my untuned videos so much hahah
Jazz
..while attempting play,....God love your Honesty kiddo...🙏👍
Wow I just got an idea you can drone one string and have the other person switch the pedal swmitone to make riffs!
@@k-ondoomer just need this pedal, an amp and a schecter with a sustaniac. turn the sustainiac on and put the guitar down, pick up the pedal and play 🤯
I just ordered the digitech whammy dt, I hope it works well
Super helpful video, Chain! Appreciate it. Definitely gonna pick one of these up. Just starting with Rocksmith streams myself.
Quick question while I'm here: do you mute your mic while you play songs? I've found viewers are hearing me strum along, but I'd like to talk to them while I play too. What's the trick here? Mic placement?
You not chainbrain. You chainboo from matallaca
it is i
Was legit just googling if there was a way to do this. Have a Schecter Evil Twin and the floyd rose and locking tuners make it nearly impossible to down tune at times. Legit god.
@@norcalbowhunter3264 Been fine with palm muting and bends. Play mostly maiden so plenty of that. The pain comes with the locking tuners. Having to undo those and down tune then lock them up and then use the fine tuners can take for ever just to play a few different songs.
That's why I like multieffect processors got a drop pedal built in :)
Oh btw, this pedal works pretty great for bass as well, tho I haven't tested the lower settings.
The only bad this is it only drops not up. I stay in d standard/drop c . I use reaper and pitch proof and it can raise and drop. So I can get the e standard and drop tuning. And it cost way less and 0 latency. Definitely thought about getting one of these pedals still
Si enves del pedal tengo una interfaz de audio, tambioen puedo tener el mismo resultado?
What do you do for songs that are in G#? I just got mine today (i have a floyd) and it doesnt go far enough for G# so how do you tune for it on rocksmith?
nice to have a tunerer select for each string. ; saves in memory
I went to do the same thing ages ago, but in my (false) moment of genius I found that digitech made “an update” to the drop, which is what I thought- same pedal + extra features….
Which it was…… but it wasn’t, and only figured out the technical extent of the changes between the two till I had it in my hand, for those that are curious I got the digitech richochet… great pedal can’t fault it, except it drops to a 2nd -4th -7th - oct -then 2oct..
one plus is it can also raise the pitch and switch from a momentary pedal to an analog…. Buuut missed the mark on the job I wanted it to do, luckily, I just stagger my 3 guitars so I can hit the whole playground 😏😏
I got the pedal but I quit using it for some time, I don't know why but I found that the different tuning sound so weird compared to regular tuning. I haven't used it in a while since then I'm using a real amp with an aby splitter (bigshot ABY) so maybe I should try it again.
chainbrain! First off, love your videos. I used to play Rocksmith on my PS3 but thanks to YOU I've recently discovered CDLC and other amazing things about rocksmith on the PC. Anyway I have a DT Whammy Pedal that I used on the PS3 worked great. But trying it on the PC it doesn't work? The second I hit the "drop tune" button the output from the guitar goes away. Have you experienced anything like that? Any ideas?
Lol I was just searching it up on Amazon
It’s a message from the universe
am i doing something wrong? mine sounds really tinny like, got momentary down to off, and in e standard tuning, got it on 1 which pops me half a step down, but sounds like really echoey/tinny, is there a setting i can change in game etc?
As a whammy DT owner, you've tempted me to sell it and go back to the miniature. I've always felt like the latency was different but I thought maybe I was just thinking too hard about it.
Hey @Airtrooper719 did u find difference with latency?
if im in E-Standard can i go down to the lowest tuning for a Doom CDLC?`like one below Drop D or something
I have been watching a ton of your videos and actually want to get Rocksmith and play some of the custom tracks. I was wondering if my Ricochet would work with tracking to Rocksmith, so this is some good damn news
Go to drop c# then drop the signal with the pedal
Is there another one you could recommend in the uk this isn’t in stock until March next year…
dt is only one octave up/dn but the new Whammy 5 is 3 octaves up/dn yes ?
Hate to sound like an idiot, but im basic and use rs cable to guitar, if inget the digitech pedal, what will i need for it to work? Just a usual rs cable to pedal and then a jack to jack to guitar? Is that correct? Much appreciated if you manage to reply 😊
So this pedal works with just the real tone cable? I don’t need an interface or anything?
Can you pitchshift up with it?
Love my Digitech drop pedal, I use a bass with it and towards the lower tunings such as B standard and A standard rocksmith struggles to recognise the tuning. Do you have this problem at all and if so what is your work around for it 👍
It sounds like you're saying you're using the pedal with a 4 string I guess? I can tell you that after trying several different 5 strings with different gauge strings and scales that it seems more up to how the cdlc creator set the tuning. Some songs work fine, some are fubar, and others are just super touchy in the tuning screen but work decently.
How do you avoid copyright!?
My favorite Rocksmith Bald Guy
what about DadGad tuning.
I don't know if you know how to fix this, but whenever I use the drop pedal with my bass, it has a hard time tracking at around C Standard. Any tips?
thats just rocksmith being bad at those frequencies sadly. you can try recalibrating after engaging the drop pedal
I wonder if someone use Mooer Mps1 or something like that because this pedal is kind of expensive for me
I have the same pedal but when the downtune is active I can still slightly hear the original tuning through my headphones making the tune sound scuffed. Any tips on this?
Mine sounds kinda robotic/echo like, is this the same or different? How did you sort it matey?
Hi!!!! Thanks for the advice!! One Question!!
Do you usually use Real Tone default amp sounds for streaming!? Guitar>pedal drop> realtone cable>PC
Or do you use a pedalboard like FRACTAL or KEMPER for using your own personal sound? if so , how do you uneable Rocksmith sound in order to listen to only your sound and not the rocksmith sounds?
Thanks a lot
Your path is right. Guitar, pedal, real tone cable, PC. All of my tones are just the Rocksmith tones. I usually use louder tones so we can hear the guitar
I plan on switching to my AxeFX soon, though
@@Chainbrain thanks for answering that fast!... I see you normally on Twitch! Very good stuff Mr.Chainbrain.
I have a KEMPER AMP PROFILER, and when I conect the real cable to It, i get my sound running, but It mixes with the defalt sound of the Rocksmith...
Greetings from Spain🍺🦇
also, if you get the Whammy-DT you can also go up halfsteps. really nice for replacing capos ;)
Don't I say that in the video?
@@Chainbrain just about the quartersteps.
I have a Whammy-DT myself, and its phenomonal.
@@Chainbrain just about the quartersteps.

Anyone knows if this pedal works with some VSTs like guitar rig or amplitube?
Definitely, just put the pedal before your interface and you're gucci
Cool video. so the settings are one step down so that's like:
1 - Eflat
2- D standard
3 - Dflat
4- C standard
That about right?
You got it
Where do you put the pedal at for the best tone. I put it at the beginning of the distortion pedal chain and it sounds like organs playing with it when I drop any. Octave setting sounds ok. Then I put it in front of the delay and reverb on the send/ return chain and it sounds like organs playing but not as bad and octave sounds better. What am I doing wrong cos I would hate to think I bought a $200 pedal for nothing .....
I'm having a similar problem but just with the pedal itself when active it sounds like echoed/robotic tuning like, is this similar to your issue? And if so how did you fix it?
Is there a way I can use my Neural DSP pitch shifter from the Gojira pack and route the output of my daw into Rocksmith?
You probably can I just don't know how haha
Does anyone has a schedule what says what tuning I am in? For exemple when my guitar is in EADGBE or DADGBE. What is my guitar when the pedal is on '1' and '2' and '3' etc..
Would be helpfull to have that!
Got it!

im curious and have never used a pedal before do you have the realtone cable plugged into your computer or audio interface?
Guitar - pedal - RealTone cable - PC
Like that!
Is there a bass equivalent or could this also work with bass?
This also works with bass! All the bass streamers use it!
Ordering one for christmas, tired of breaking and replacing strings lol
Yesssssss, you're gonna love it
Fun fact: I have the digitech whammy pedal and it’s great
Can someone explain to me how to access the quarterstep tunings on the whammy DT?
You have to use the whammy setting and pitch up or down using the pedal
@@Chainbrain so I just have to use the foot pedal and not push it in all the way? Also does it do both quarterstep sharp and quarterstep flat?
Hey man, do you use RS ASIO? I've recently just changed to using it instead of the real tone cable and the audio improvement and latency was immediately noticeable.
I don't, but I plan on setting RSAsio with my AxeFX soob
@@Chainbrain I was always wondering on how halsb got such a different stock tone in his cliffs of dover master video compared to mine and thought it was just the guitar and pickups but when i switched to RSASIO I got nearly the same exact tone, the clarity of the notes sound so much better.
@@mongo_sk halsb just uses the RealTone Cable + Digitech Drop, just like this video
@@RiffRepeater Oh really? I just assumed he uses RS ASIO because the tone i got was so similar as the one he got compared to how my tone was using the real tone cable. Thanks man and keep up the great rocksmith playthroughs to both of you :)
Can you go from E standard to Drop C# with this pedal?
You would have to make your guitar drop D, but yes. It can't down tune individual strings, just your full signal
Excuseeee mee Mr Strimmer, what happened to the Whammy that OMC acquired for you at Xmas 🤔
I sent it to a community member because I never used it
Would this work for bass as well? I'm not great with understanding pedals, especially trying to set up a tone in Rocksmith lol
Yep, lots of bass players use it!!
@@Chainbrain Hell yeah man. If I get more serious, it's something I'll consider purchasing!
Does it tune to flats like Eflat?
yes it goes by semitones, so 1 is e flat, 3 is c# etc

Light 1 would become Eb when tuned to E Standard then, correct?
Correct!
@@Chainbrain perfect. I don't really know any theory and it's good to know that I at least got that correct.
How do you do you set up song requests
Do you want a video on this?
@@Chainbrain would be helpful cuz i stream rocksmith now and then
I don't understand every time I plug it in I get a huge irritating sound like a ground noise. And when I plug it out and just use the real tone cable then it sounds prefect. Why does it happen cuse i don’t want to use it becuse of that and like you said it is kinda expensive. Pls help me Chain.
It might actually be bad grounding on your power supply. I had a similar issue when using a power bad that was cheap!
@@Chainbrain thank you so much
@@Chainbrain i just found out that is it the grounding. Thanks for the tip
@@Chainbrain Our wall sockets are not grounded because we live in an old house. So that probably means we have to change contacts to grounded ones.
@@Chainbrain Do you think that will help?
I love this pedal... I honestly eliminated 4 other guitars because of switching tunings
Still using it every day!
sup canadian guitar guy
These pedals are half price on amazon about 1 week a month. Anyone wanting one I suggest waiting till its on sale.
We use the same pedal lol
The latency in the Whammy Pedal makes it unusable, imo. I decided to use the Harmonix Pitchfork, but this is a great option too.
Stop the cap bro bro the pitchfork has terrible latency, take your L
why does it sound like he is is trying to sell me a swiffer?
"to be honest a little floppiness never bothered me until... i found out what it really was, SPAGHETTI STRINGS!!!"
*laughs in digiteach whammy dt*
Enjoying that extra delay? :D
@@Chainbrain A small price to pay for a whammy pedal on the side...
@@shitpostcertifiedmoment8083 is it worth an extra $100
@@trentindeed4118 depends, if you already have a whammy pedal on its own or you don't need the whammy functions then I'd advise getting a drop pedal. However if you want to play Tom morello stuff, use the harmonies function or just want to tune to those weird tunings chain was mentioning then it would be a good idea. It is cheaper than buying the pedals seperatly (at least on thomann) so that and the fact I love Tom morello was why I killed two birds with one stone and got a whammy dt
It's just too bad it colors the sound as much as it does... But it is a lot better sounding than most and the latency is manageable.
I don't find it does at all
@@Chainbrain Do you use it with gain? I've used a few of these types of pedals over the years and they all have that characteristic. The Drop is definitely top tier though.
...oh my,..I don't have a guitar tuned c sharp for to play garbage ass metal songs on, what does I do?
Hm
m
Oh, so tubing a lot damages your strings. No wonder one of my guitars goes through strings like crazy....
Now what happens when you have to go to Drop E lol
Cannibal corpse has the very low tunings 😂 good luck trying that (since you have a 7 string)
Sorry I mean cannibal corpse...their songs are very bloody low tunings like I can’t even begin to name them because of it
play 666 or satanique
It costs 300 usd used here so buying a 300 usd guitar with different tuning should be a more reasonable take.
