Thank you. There's a couple of tabs for some niche songs that no one seems to have done before so I'm going to try my hand at making them, so your timing for this video was perfect.
I see where my brother was in over his head. The songs we want to play doesn't have the Guitar Pro tabs in Ultimate Guitar. So, I'm off to learn another program.
"I'm doing bass because I play bass. Can't play guitar for the life of me." I wasn't ready for this kind of personal attack. Jokes aside this video is incredible, Excellent guide for someone to start creating DLCs, especially now that almost every song from the original Rocksmith is out of the stores. I'd like some more in-depth tips for the tone creation but that would make the video 2 hours long. Thanks a lot man.
This is showing a pretty antiquated way of creating CDLC. DLC Builder is much better than RS Toolkit in every way and doesn't require any manual work into converting .WEMs inside Wwise. DLC Builder also gives suggestions in the form of warnings that help you make your charts look more like official quality. Something you might want to suggest too is installing RSMods. This includes 2 handy features of CDLC creators: song timer and force re-enumeration. Song timer allows you to see the timestamp of the song on the screen if you want to make notes and edit something in EOF later, and force re-enumeration allows you to make newer test builds of your chart and test them in game without ever having to exit the game.
I actually have DLC Builder installed but haven't worked with it yet (working out some errors on start-up). I will be attempting to work with it soon but have yet to play with it. I've always done CDLC's like this but if there is an easier way, I'm for sure going to look into doing it that way.
Hi, I found your video last weekend. Awesome video. I’ve been looking for a video to create CDLCs for RockSmith 2014 for a while now. My first attempt worked although I did not bother to align the notes just wanted to see if I can do this. Now I’m redoing that same song and lining up the notes and lyrics. It’s not easy as it seems to be but I think I did a good job. My problem is finding the right tones. Anyway, thank you.
It gets a bit easier with practice but it's never easy. I find the tones the hardest part. I will usually steal a tone from a song with a similar tone, or else I will open up rocksmith and play with the tones until I find something I like and then write everything down. Glad the video helped you.
In 2023 the song creator toolkit can be replaced with RS2014 CDLC Builder which has a more user friendly interface, a lot of functions to make the thing easier and quicker (easy tone management, volume normalization, audio preview, etc.) But it just does CDLCs, the toolkit also makes fretboards, etc. so it's still useful.
I only messed with it for about a half an hour and kept getting an error when trying to compile my song. Couldn’t figure out why so I gave up on it. One of these days I’ll have to get it again and mess around with it to try to figure it out.
@@IkerPineapple I don't have a video tutorial on hand, I do know that I updated my written tutorial on CF to adjust for the changes in tool but this specific video tutorial is not up to date in current standard tool for CDLC.
I suggest using a program like Orban to find the average loudness level and then setting the song/preview volume so that they both add up to -14 db which is close to official DLC. Example, Orban says the Loudness is -6 so you would set -8 in the toolkit, that would make the song -14db.
Thanks for the video! I couldn't have made any CDLC without your tutorials. Please don't delete the other video though, I'm used to it and it's shorter, sometimes it's easier to find there when we're looking for something we have forgotten. Btw, is guitar pro really needed? I'm asking because, 1st it's not free and 2nd it doesn't seem to be necessary. It's used only to see the bpm isn't it? Because we can see that directly on ultimate guitar. Thanks in advance for the answer.
Guitar Pro is used more for editing notes. (More useful for more advanced editing). For most songs if the guitar tabs are already created and you don’t mind how the tabs are set up, it’s not necessary (for this song it was extremely useful). But TUX guitar is free and does the same thing apparently. And I won’t be deleting the older video. It is still relevant and some people like the tutorials without commentary.
Thanks so much for this, it helped a lot with trying to create my own! When I tried to test it however, the game crashed after tuning the guitar. Do you know what possible fixes there are for this?
inside the rocksmith toolkit when you click on the arrangement and hit edit, there is a button to check to make sure it won't crash (on each arrangement). Also in the builder main page, there is a button to checkmark for the lightshow incase your chart crashes. (I'm sorry I can't be exact right now, I'm not in town at my computer to tell you exactly) Hope that helps. If not, let me know because it could be a few other things, but those are the main 2
Hey, if you got some time sometime, can you do Lil Peep - The Pull off ? Its on ultimate guitar tabs, its the same pattern all over the song and only has lead.
i wanted to add a song i wrote myself in rocksmith without tabs, without lyrics and so on. Is this possible too? I just want the sound i have in rocksmith and want to be able to hear the music and play to it.
i know this is a tough one but i have been asking around for 2 tabs if you can help please and upload it, it would be much apprecited: Fit for an autopsy hostage and some acacia strain songs
Well. You would still have to do it kind of the same way as a song. Record dead air if you want, or a metronome. Just need some sort of mp3 file however long you want your exercise to be. Then manually plug in the notes where you want them to go and create the song. Use any tone from any song, name it whatever you want, etc. Btw. That would make a good little tutorial to go with some of the more advanced functions of EOF I'm working on. Might incorporate it a bit.
I am having a problen getting my song to load into EOF. I convert the song to mp3, When I go new in EOF and put in the title and artist and click ok, it does it thing in less than a second. When I press F5 the song does not show and there is no play back. How do I get the song to load?

I do. And I seen it on the forums that you can get the new DLL file and it won't require cherub rock but I still haven't downloaded it yet. Once I do I'll have to figure out if there is any major changes in the process or not.
is there a way to just import a GP file into EOF and then export something that's ready for the DLC builder? an arrangement? a psarc? anything? I still don't understand how to get anything out of EOF?
I have a second question. I am tring to use the song S.O.S. buy ABBA to make a CDLC. There are tempo changes in the song. It starts at 116bpm then 122bpm and the last bar is 59bpm. How do I put in the tempo changes into EOF and get all the notes to line up?
This tutorial was wonderful but I am running into an issue! The actual chart is about 3 seconds behind the song when I load it into rocksmith and I don't know how to fix it 😅
Drag the very first arrow at the top until it lines up, then drag the very last arrow. You may need to drag other arrows in order to get everything lined up. But moving the first and last arrows are the first place to start. Also check your leading silence. Sometimes a small tweak and regeneration of the file is all it takes
Thank you for your update and effort to continue help everyone to keep making CDLC content. I have tried to follow this before and I never succeed. I get errors already trying to open EOF. It says I need to install Lame and Vorbis tools. That is not in the guide and I tried to install Lame, but EOF continues to not show mp3 when trying to load the song. Very frustrating.

And bear in mind that your hour long video is going to take most users much more time than an hour to follow along.
I see an older tutorial you made that is only about 30 mins long. I'll have to check it out though the fact you created a new one suggests that the old one is too out of date to use. For source material, instead of starting with a brand new project, you could take an existing CDLC or official DLC and extract the existing material and then show how to reassemble it, with a few comments about important steps you are not covering, then cover those steps in separate videos. The problem is keeping the video and the material it presents to a size where your average user can absorb it in one sitting.
I just tried to make a cldc but when I play the game the song start right away (ignored the silence I made) and the notes delayed because it skipped the silence , why is that? how to fix please
If the silence isn’t one of the first things you do, it can mess up the whole song. You will have to open up the files in EOF again and move all your notes forward and re-generate the package with the newly saved files in the toolkit. See my video about editing existing CDLC’s

are you using the proper version of Wwise? if not that could possibly be the reason. Otherwise I'll have to see if I can re-create the error as I have never had that issue.
yeah so i followed the whole way other than not doing the tone sections of the song. I am able to get it into rocksmith and the first time i tried, the little teaser song played when I hovered over the song/clicked the song. Once I attempted to play the song, it stopped and ended the song, i went into the parts of the song on rocksmith and was able to see the notes but when I clicked on it, it froze and restarted the process almost as if i finished the segment I was trying to practice. The second time the teaser audio for the song didn't play and the same thing happened for lead as it did last time, but rhythm had no purple parts and i was able to play the song but the audio would make this terrifying sound instead of playing the song (sorry for the grammar). What am I doing wrong?
@@TCBandLive Hi. No I am using tabs for a 6 string. I had a buddy tell me it could have happened when I added dead silence, but that makes no sense to me because I followed every step. My thought is that it could have something to do with Wwise settings, and I also used RS DLC builder which is different from what you used i guess. Im almost certain it's between Wwise or RS DLC Builder.
I have had problems using DLC Builder and that's why I haven't used it. I keep getting weird errors like that. I'll have to "Bite the Bullet" and learn the RS DLC Builder so I can help people with some of these weird issues. Sorry I can't help.
Is there a way to do this with songs that don't have a guitar pro tab? I want to make my own CDLC but a lot of the songs I want to do don't have guitar pro tabs just regular tabs :(
.psarc files are a bunch of files rolled into 1 package essentially. If you watch my video on Editing Existing CDLC'S It will explain how to edit the files within the .psarc files
Do you mean like, rhythm, lead, bass, and bonus arrangement? Yes there is a way. I haven’t had a song to do it with yet so I have not done it myself, but others have
There is always a lot of tweaking you have to do. Also, if the songs BPM changes mid song, that could be an issue. Songs created by people never have a constant BPM so you will always need to slightly move parts of a song, some single notes, etc.
@@TCBandLive The biggest problem im having is lining up the notes in a song, they get off beat after a while, and if i line up the end it compresses the rest of the song
Yup. There is a different program that some people use and some say that it is easier. But I still find that it is more difficult to set up and there is not much explanation on the functionality of it. Believe it or not, there is an even more labor intensive way to do the lyrics.

@@TCBandLive no one responded back for requests on their it's an easy song with tabs Dramarama anything anything
Is there anyway to make a song without a guitar pro tab? A lot of the music I enjoy dosent have guitar pro tabs.
easiest way is to create your own guitar pro or tuxguitar tabs and use that. or you can input each note 1 by 1
my eof after importing the song it goes to guitar hero notes. how do i default it to rocksmith. my setting are the under rocksmith and piano roll.
On my first video on how to make rocksmith CDLC at the beginning I have a screen shot of the proper settings you will need.
Why does Wwise want to know where i work
I'm getting an error from the toolkit and when I open the logs it says this:
2022-08-05 16:04:40.1072 | RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program (ERROR) :
RocksmithToolkitGUI.Program+c__DisplayClass0_0.b__1
- Application.ThreadException
I have no idea what it could be tied to, can someone help?

Hi. ive been following your tutorial for creating cdlc but i have a problem opening wwise launcher. when i try it says api-ms-win-core-path l1-1-0.dll is missing. i found the file online and installed it in system 64wow folder but still says its still missing. is there anyway you can help with this. cheers. im subscribed to your channel
are you using the proper version of Wwise? if not that could possibly be the reason.
Are you using tabs for a 7 string guitar by chance? If so, it won't work. You have to edit the tabs
@@TCBandLive Thanks a mil. I still learned a lot with EOF and how to do this on my own for the most part so great tutorial!!
Does difficulty level comes from a game or who makes CDLC?
It's created by the Rocksmith Tool Kit when you apply the dynamic difficulty. So depending on the tabs it will scale
Is there a way to do this with songs that don't have a guitar pro tab? I want to make my own CDLC but a lot of the songs I want to do don't have guitar pro tabs just regular tabs :(
Have to manually enter each note. Or create your own guitar pro tab using guitar pro or tuxguitar
@@TCBandLive how to manually enter each note?
@@DevAnimate in the Editor On Fire Program. Click where the note should be, Press "N" and edit what the note should be
@@TCBandLive thank you
is there a way to edit psarc files?
.psarc files are a bunch of files rolled into 1 package essentially. If you watch my video on Editing Existing CDLC'S It will explain how to edit the files within the .psarc files
Do you know how can I make 4 guitars on EOF? Is it possible?
Do you mean like, rhythm, lead, bass, and bonus arrangement? Yes there is a way. I haven’t had a song to do it with yet so I have not done it myself, but others have
ua-cam.com/video/v5odHGnxxhQ/v-deo.html
Hope that helps. and thanks for the video idea
how did you line up the song? i did what you did and mine is off sync.
There is always a lot of tweaking you have to do. Also, if the songs BPM changes mid song, that could be an issue. Songs created by people never have a constant BPM so you will always need to slightly move parts of a song, some single notes, etc.
@@TCBandLive appreciate it nice video, I got it all but synching the song is the hardest for me.
is there any way to do it besides editor on fire?
nope
In this case, I have a request. Anyone can drop on it. Avantasia's Requiem for a Dream please someone do it
Me trying to get delisted dlc
you sound like Cory Taylor LUL
Its funny you used an avenged sevenfold tone, cuz thats what i am making a song for is avenged sevenfold lol
starting off with bass really threw me off
I find it easier just because I play bass and can hear it easier. If you are used to playing guitar, start with that
@@TCBandLive The biggest problem im having is lining up the notes in a song, they get off beat after a while, and if i line up the end it compresses the rest of the song
Is it just me or is this overly cumbersome?
Yup. There is a different program that some people use and some say that it is easier. But I still find that it is more difficult to set up and there is not much explanation on the functionality of it. Believe it or not, there is an even more labor intensive way to do the lyrics.
Thanks Man! You helped me make my first CDLC! I still have quite a bit of question tho. Can you drop your discord user so we can talk sometime? Thanks again man!
