This game is about perfecting time management. And alternative towards the middle of this episode when you were stuck inside because of the bear. For a second you thought about cooking water but then decided to read.. ( having a book handy is always excellent) But a move you could of made as well would have been. Jump outside start a fire with 2 hours of wood.. cook up the water jump back inside and do your 2 hour read. Bam water and knowledge at the same time. 2 hours of day light saved as well. ;) Your doing great, FireSong. There's so much to learn in this game.. it can be overwhelming but dam its a beautiful game
@@firesonggamer Z'all good Firesong. Its part of the game.. The quartering thing is good for like harvesting a bear. Gives you all the guts and pelt and like 8- 10 bags of meat. I guess the thinking behind it is the bear freezing any ways get all the bags to a location. set up with a couple of fires.. and time it so as you harvest the bags you are also cooking at the same time... 2 for 1 deal... Just pay attention to your fire time and cooking time. As your cooking skills and fire skills increase . the time shifts will change but once you are max cooking, you can truly be savage and eat right off the bone of your freshly killed animal:) Its the apocalypse sweet
Cured gut makes line and scrap metal makes fish hooks, combined they make fishing tackle. You need a lot of these when your skill level is low. Cut up little fish for bait. Lures are good for catching exotic fish, if you just want food I wouldn't bother. With a tip-up you can read or cook while you fish. It's a lot safer than bear hunting. 😊
@@firesonggamer I don't know but I imagine it would do both in theory. According to the wiki- "Wildlife cannot enter a fishing hut even when the door is open. ". That's good to know :)
When you do finally down a bear.. let it lay a while, unless you actually hear it die. Couple years back I had a 100 something day going.. I was in Costal hyway , shot the bear it ran off.. found it shortly later and when I walked up on him to skin and harvest. It jumped up and killed me.. so that was a thing. And I have major bases on every map.. but also have smaller satellite bases at certain places in case of weather and just to be safe. Little food water and wood can be the difference between life and death. Also, remember I believe the game only saves when you go from outside to inside. so be aware if your bounching in and out doing certain things .
Thank you. Bears are no joke in this game. In my first playthrough, I learned the hard way about how this game saves. LOL! I believe it also saves when you wake up from sleeping.
I'm not 100% sure on this.. But I believe they must have done some tweaking on the characters foot steps.. they seem to have an extra spacial tone or delay. It definitely sounds different than before. And as I'm watching this video, you are wanting to aggro the bear with stones.. your so fun. I love this game and can't wait to see how it ends.. It's the Long Dark it always ends
Hehe! I'm warning you now, I have moments of reckless behavior! I will do things that are not exactly safe. Oh yeah, I am also looking forward to how this playthrough ends. I am very curious how I die, cause I know I will face death eventually.

Woman like excitement and chaos. Hmm could be an interesting poll or line on how your first death will take place. Its a tough one, stumbling across a bear very high.. JUST MAKE SURE OF ONE THING.. When waking from sleep ALWAYS grab your bedroll. It can be easy to forget and a life saver if ever needed.. Wouldn't be a fun way to watch you pass into the long dark
@@firesonggamer one thing that could come in handy carry enough sticks (10) and cloth (2), I believe.. that you can make a snow shelter. Especially when traveling across the world as a whole. for bad weather that is. I think its in the .... as you called it before... ray-dial HeHe menu with your bedroll. RAY- DIAL.. Too funny
