You don't find rock caches, you build them by piling up stones (Navigation on radial menu). They are storage containers and are automatically marked on your map when built. Also, you may want to check out those fishing huts as they sometimes have tools/weapons. Good luck!
@@cliffball4478 Wait, whaaat?what?? I thought the game presented you with that rock cache checklist because we had to go find them!! But all we have to do is build them?? Wow, awesome!! I'll try it out!! Thanks!!

I always carry mats for a fire and a pot & grill in 7ds. I'd do it here too.You may want to test if there is an insulation factor, house v garage. Travois as in Iroquois, "s" is silent, being French.
@@josephdonais4778 I'll take a pot if I decide to go into a different region but it weighs too much to take everywhere. I need the inventory space. I don't carry my cooking stuff around in 7dtd. Listen again, I didn't say the 's'.
@firesonggamer you can carry an empty can to cook water. Fish and rabbits can be carried and don't give off a smell unless they have been cut open. As long as it's the entire animal, there is ne smell. I've also noticed that you aren't checking the trunks of the cars. You need the pry bar to open them.
How do you make an arrow in The Long Dark? You have to find birch wood, coal, a heavy hammer, crow feathers, scrap metal, firewood. Then you need to cure and build the shafts at a work bench, then you need to haul a bunch of stuff to a forge to make the arrowheads, then you need to find a workbench again to finally make the arrows

Thanks. I'll make notes and try to follow your directions. But I want to fully explore Coastal Highway before checking other regions. Others have pointed out where a rifle spawn can appear. We'll see, it's dangerous everywhere.
I didn't see if the comment was made FireSong, but to thwart of a wolf attack was pretty easy last time i was regularly playing.. have in your stash some stones. In harder difficulties where matches are less common . Some would basically alwayss carry a lite tourch and just keep lightening new ones off the almost expiring ones. ( you can just pull touches out of any fire you have burning). Anyways, once a wolf is on your trail or tail . Drop said tourch in between you and the wolf and simply aim a stone at him.. just aiming the stone at him will cause him to break aggro, for a short period of time. Hopefully enough time to make a break. I believe it is still a thing.. I haven't played the past couple of months/ last update or 2. I believe it also worked with the flares.. but again probably needs to be tested.. I don't think it worked on Timberwolves if remember correctly , they still can be asshos. Now off into the Long Dark with you.
@@firesonggamer Yes, I also follow Zak...He's a good source of things Long Dark... As you may know now the game is actually fairly complex and difficult to master for just temp, sleep food and water. There's also using your health bar as a resource.. you can take damage knowing your sleep will recouple. Then there's the well-fed bonus route only eating to sleep read and craft.. less food needed but you loose the extra carry weight.... and I've followed you enough to know the hoarder in you , that will not be an option.. Have a Merry Christmas Firesong

make a fire beside frozen deer to harvest it
fires out side or in fireplaces
stoves too
animal skins make great warm wear
not having played the game a travois is basically a wheelbarrow without wheels you can carry more, but it will probably suck your stamina.
Yep. You drag it with you as you travel, I've seen it being used. I would rather have the backpack, but it's really hard to get.
