I'm writing this before watching but in coastal highway, you can find a rifle variant, it's Barbara's rifle, you can find it randomly under a stone bridge following the regular route, in one of the fishing huts, in the quonset garage, or in a train wagon up on train tracks towards the ravine. But you need dlc. Sorry for bad English I'm not native.

Then if i may add another tip, the game only register's your clothes wind protection and damage reduction if they are on the outer layer, so if you see them on your character basically , for example by putting your new pants in the inner layer, you are missing out on the superior protection against wind and damage. @@firesonggamer
I found an informative video on dealing with the bear. Ther are no traps and snares. Must have a weapon to kill it. Otherwise, run!!!!!! But bear is afraid of fire and if you can put a fire between him and you, he will stop charging you at least. Ultimately, I still need a weapon.
