So many good bits but this stands out.
"How'd you get out of the cuffs?'
"I had a key."
"Where, we searched you."
"I swallowed it last Tuesday."
"How'd you know you were going to need it?"
"I swallow it every Tuesday."
The Guy with "That Voice" is Tone Loc the Rapper, look him up!!!! 😎😎😎
Just about to put that! Funky Cold Medina.
I was amazed that he didn't notice!
@@KenseiSanjian Probably an age thing. Probably too young to know who he is.
Cmon he don’t know tone loc???? You better be under 35. Do the wild thing. Lol
I swear this red eye guy doesn't know who anyone is
Leslie Nielsen was known as a serious dramatic actor until around Airplane!
In fact he was cast in that role (as were most of the cast) specifically because they thought it would be funnier to have serious actors say the ridiculous lines (they were absolutely right of course).
Before his comedies he was best known for Forbidden Planet and he popped up two or three times in Columbo (never playing the villain).
He was the Swamp Fox, which is my third favorite Disney series after Davy Crockett and Zorro.
I legit didn't know that. Thanks for the added details!
@@RedEyeReviews forbidden planet. for a watch
Really bothers me that I didn't get to say this. I was also gonna mention Forbidden Planet (his most famous serious film). Today was my birthday, too, you sonofa----
@@RedEyeReviews He was also the captain on The Poseidon Adventure, a serious disaster film.
The man should have stayed away from moving vehicles
I love you calling Tone Loc 'that man'. he's a legend!!!
I came here to see if anyone else realized that Redeye didn't know who Tone Loc was :)
It’s a Wild Thing to think about, isn’t it?
He also made out with Einhorn who turned out to be Finkle. Lmao
@@XxHolySpawnxX I totally forgot that at the time and hadnt been able to get back to post it. Laces Out Dan!!!
I was floored by that too I was like how the hell don’t he know who tone loc is wow.
I swear the reason I LOVE this channel is the movie selection! every time you post a new video I'm reminded of my childhood
The dude with the voice is Ton Loc- Red Eye, you never rocked harder than "wild thing" and "funky cold medina"!!!
Underrated songs
"How did you get out of the handcuffs?"
"I swallowed a key last Tuesday."
"How did you know you would need it?"
"I swallow it every Tuesday."
I used to have this flick and double dragon in constant rotation when I was 12. It was a great summer.
Bro you have no idea. San Diego 1993 blockbuster staple
The summer I was 12 I watched Weekend at Bernie's & The Return of Swamp Thing constantly. I've never seen/heard of this one.
@@Axolotl_Mischief it was right on the heels of tmnt 2 and at the height of my martial arts movie addiction.
Thank you for doing this one. I know I bugged you quite a bit, but this review is much appreciated
Lol you are very welcome :) You didn't bug me, you were just passionate!
I LOVED this movie as a kid 😂
That joke about Tone Loc swallowing a key ‘last Tuesday’ is stuck in my head forever
Money can’t buy knives is the best bit in the whole movie. My friends and I to this day quote that part!
I'm always amazed how few people even know who Ernie Reyes Jr is, even though he was in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Fury of the Fist and the Golden Fleece, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Librarians, NCIS: Los Angeles, The Rundown, Charmed, Rush Hour 2, MacGyver, Sidekicks, The Last Dragon and many more.
He was in a TV show when he was like 7 or something. Can't remember the name of it. It was good, but was 40 years ago
@@garyhall7867 The Last Electric Knight
He was my guy in “Last Dragon “ !!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣….. Don’t forget “Red Sonja “!!!!
Do you remember this films trailer was on the adverts at the start of either tmnt 1 or 2 on video? That's how I know this film
Interesting point about the glass in ancient Japan / China. Glass was a european invention, and even though the Japanese / Chinese had older civilizations, and innovations of their own, their lack of knowledge of glass is what held them back. Glass is the reason Europeans sailed the world, it allowed them to make telescopes, compasses, windows, microscopes, prisms, etc. which lead to scientific, and medical discoveries as well as being able to explore. Had the asians figured out glass before the europeans, the world would look very different today.
If I recall there was a fleet of Japanese ships that were set to sail east until they were torched. Japan would've discovered the Americas long before Colombus.
I have a chronic illness on top of being a full time caregiver to my elderly mom and no matter what, your videos ALWAYS brighten my day!! You mean more to us than you know, RedEye. Thank you♥️
We rented this movie so much as a kid it is very strange seeing 20 some years later after knowing it so well!
LOVE this movie, I was a martial arts kid & these movies where lots of fun for me. Thanks for theses videos! 👍👏
I have been waiting for this one...last week Barbara Ann was stuck in my head for 2 days!
All the movies you review bring back memories of a simpler time. Those were the days of no responsibility.
The stars are aligned because I just watched this (on UA-cam) like 2weeks ago!
Classic*
Thank you.
Leslie Nielson was in the first Creepshow movie - not a particularly serious movie, but it was a non-comedic role.
Creepshow is a comic book horror anthology film by George Romero & Stephen King.
I had to tell you, I found your channel a few weeks ago, and it's my new favorite thing! My dad loved anything and everything kung fu, ninja, or karate related. I have watched A LOT of the movies you review on old vhs tapes. His favorite was a TV show starring David Caradine, called "Kung fu". If he saw an 80's action hero kick into the air in an ad, we watched it eventually. Thank you for the nostalgia.
Prior to "Police Squad" and "The Naked Gun", Leslie Nielsen was mostly known for dramatic roles. I mean, he was in "Prom Night", "Creepshow", and Disney's American Revolution drama "The Swamp Fox".
This is one of my favorite movies. The knives scene is great lol.
Yo! You did it!
Good to see the origin of the blue camo outfits reused in Street Fighter: The Movie.
Tone Lóc should do a podcast. I agree.
OMG I can't! This was my FAVORITE movie ever as a child.
It's like you've been picking movies from my childhood lately!!! The nostalgia is strong lol
Great review once again. You brought back some childhood memories here.
Awesome 90's Ernie Reyes Jr.
Also couldn't stop crushing on a young Kelly Hu 😊
As you promised!!! You are a true gentleman of his word!!
Literally lol’d at “you probably have Covid because you lost your taste” 🤣🤣🤣 omg…. I can’t…. 🤣🤣🤣
I completely forgot I watched this as a kid. Thanks for reminding me :)
Ah, I don't care how ridiculous this movie is... I love it and I always will! Quan-Su, dudes! xD
Love the show! Strange brew!
This was my favorite movie into my tweens. Love this!!!
6:45 made me laugh way more than it should. ive neven been much of a fan of robs but this is hillarious. "im 37" killed me.
I liked him okay enough until he turned out to be a shitty person. He was hilarious in Demolition Man and the first Deuce movie though.
it should also be noted that the detective that joins their quest is none other than mr. funky cold medina himself, tone loc. he had himself some pretty big hip hop hits back in the early nineties and appeared in a bunch of movies after including ace ventura: pet detective.
I was 9 when this movie was released. Used to love it as a kid.
This movie made me feel so cool as the only kid in school that had a Game Gear
Most people dislike this movie, but I love this movie very much. This movie convinced me to purchase a Sega Game Gear.
I've watched this movie too many times since my childhood,to call it a guilty pleasure 😂
If it brings you joy, no need to feel guilty my friend. That's how I feel about movies like this.
Why did I only remember this movie like 2 minutes into this video?! I totally seen this as a kid!!
The last time Rob schneider was remotely funny was back when he was doing the Richmeister on SNL
I'm shocked that slipped by my video rental queue when I was younger. That seems like it was perfectly suited to what I would have watched
Leslie Nielsen also plays an amazing psycho, check out the first "Creep Show"
Buries people up the their necks in sand and lets them drown in the tide. And he totally sells that role, pretty scary.
Is Princess Bride an option? That clip just made me smile. Also anytime Tone-Loc can get some love I'm fine with it. Also the reyes being both in this movie is awesome. Leslie Nielson did indeed do serious roles, and I'm assuming this was suppose to be funny.
"That Man" is Tone Loc.
This was low key one of my favorite movies growing up!!!🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everything about this is great. Good luck with the COVID mate. How you feel better
Get well soon! Thanks for these.
Me and my brother love this movie. We still watch it and 3 ninjas to this day. Oh and FYI the cops is actually Tone Loc. He was a pretty popular rapper back in the 80s.
I finally found Harvey Keitel's clone to complete my B Movie Bingo card!!! Thanks Red Eye!
Shout out to the Van Halen = coffee reference!! 100% agreed!! 😊
between 1950 and 1980 Leslie Nielsen Was a dramatic actor before Airplane came out, in fact he was in a scifi movie "Forbidden planet" which is a bases for scifi movies these days .
When I was a kid this movie was one of my favorites along with fifth element lol
I mentioned in the comments of your Red Sonja review that Ernie Reyes Jr. had a Gofundme going to pay for his kidney transplant surgery. The good news on that front is that the goal has since been met.
"Your hair's still wet from the f@$king WOMB!" - Richard Ayoade
When I say I get your jokes, I get your jokes, my guy. Which in turn grows my appreciation and respect for what you do, sir. 👏👏❣👍
Lol thank you! Oh God Richard is so freaking funny
@@RedEyeReviews Dang Skippy! 😄 I have just that specific segment of him losing his flipping mind, bc Biff stole his tray of sweets, saved in a YT playlist. Found him on The IT Crowd. Found the show Countdown bc of that IT Crowd episode where Moss was on. Then I looked up Countdown (now "new and improved" going by "8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown") and find out Richard is a semi-regular guest! Heck yeah! I went down a whole-A Richard Ayoade rabbit whole for a LONG time. 😂😂😂
Btw... On a real note real quick... Your vids keep me going somedays. Not playing the new "V-card", but to make a looooooooooong story infinitesimal: I've been self-isolating as if the zombie apocalypse has already happened, and like Shaun I'm sitting in my Winchester waiting for this to all blow over. Except I've been isolating since before the coof. Severe problems, to say the least. So my days stay generally gloomy. Its hard to laugh. But watching your vids have brought some much-needed belly-laughter back into my life. I am truly, explicitly grateful for you and the work you do. It might be simple (not simple-minded) entertainment to some. But for this chick right here, it means more than words can say.
So... Thank you. 💌
@@cristinaj4274 that entire group of comedians is hilarious. If you want another show, watch "Would I Lie To You" it's very funny.
I'm so glad you are getting some joy out of my videos. I understand some of what you are going through. As cliche as it sounds, just know you're not alone. Everyone is dealing with something. Some people are just better at hiding it. And not every day will be a win. Some days will truly suck. But as long as you keep trying, it will get better.
You got this :)
@@RedEyeReviews Thank you Thank you Thank you. It might be cliché, but it's still sound advice that needed to be said. And I absolutely needed to hear that. Thank you, again.
@@RedEyeReviews And yes sir, that rabbit whole had me delving into Jimmy and Jon Richardson, as well as the other shows. Man! The way tv shows work over there! They were like YT collaborators before YT collab was a thing. 😄
Movie Producer in 1990s: "What are two things that are cool with the kids these days?"
Junior Writer in the 90s: "uhhh, surfing and...ninjas?"
Movie Producer in the 90s: "PERFECT!!! LET'S MAKE IT!!!"
Upvote for the surfer voice🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣let's continue!
Leslie Nielsen played i serious in Forbidden Planet, Creepshow, Prom Night, The Poseidon Adventure, Day of The Animals, Gunfight in Abilene, Nuts, The Swamp Fox, City on Fire, Ransom and Counterpoint.
The cop is played by rapper Tone Loc. He was big in the early 90s. Famous song "funky cold madina:
Rob Schneider played The Stapler perfectly. Also, A Carrot. Oh, and Derp a Derpa Derp.
Always a soft spot for this movie, goofy but fun and funny to see Kelly Hu as an unknown amid some crazy fights and humor.
C Bear and Jamal! 🤣 Always comes to mind with Tone Loc. My brother had the Surf Ninjas game. Just like Rumble in the Bronx there's no game cartridge in the Game Gear.
Surf Ninja,3 Ninjas,TMNT man in the early 90s we sure loved Ninja
Fun fact those blue military outfits were also in the Street Fighter movie too.
Dude, two words "Forbidden planet". More shocking Leslie Nielsen was actually...young in this one.
A Corman Classic.
I love this movie!! I always wanted that SEGA system because of this movie.
I love this movie. So many good memories
Hell yeah! I think this was in my top 3 movies as a kid up there with Terminator 2 and TMNT.
That's a strong line up right there.
This movie was really cool back in the day and still is Leslie Nielsen Frank himself and all that high flying action oh yeah I miss the 90s
FINALLY!!!! AND I MISSED IT BY TWO DAYS WTF. BUT THANK YOU!
the funky cold medina, awesome to see tone loc 😂🤣
I remember the karate school I went to as a kid had a poster for this in the back by the locker rooms for some reason.
Still your best impression so far
As a Native Californian from late 80s early 90s era San Diego. I am triggered and offended by your "Beach bum" surfer dude voice that nobody from California ever spoke in. TRIGGERED!!!! I SAY!
To be fair to Adam, i believe his powers of foresight would work if used anything. For example, a mirror or a pan of water. This adds up when he looks into the forest and see surfboards.
This entire film was a Sega PSA to keep your Sega electronics away from water
this movie made me laugh a lot more than I think it should have 😂😂🤣
They can fight and ride the breakers. Sweet
9:30 a warrior prince would receive training early,he forgot it when he blocked out the traumatic event of pillage and murder. Plus,it’s in his blood.
I was like didn’t he do this movie already? Then i remembered “no that was 3 ninjas”. Oh the 90s
Surf ninjas and 3 ninjas are my holy grail
How'd you leave out Tone Loc's key swallow line?
"wet from the womb"...I see you also saw that big fat quiz of the year/decade with richard ayoade.
You should check out the original Poseidon movie, The Poseidon Adventure. Leslie Nielsen played the captain in that movie. It's so freakin weird seeing him in a non comedic role.. You're just waiting for the jokes that never comes.
Oh I can imagine. I'll definitely check it out
@@RedEyeReviews I'd love it if you'd make an review, hopefully you will find it's early 70s cheese just as amusing as i do.
Not a movie for claustrophobes. At all. It's a very serious, not remotely funny disaster movie.
@@Axolotl_Mischief This is very true. It's also better than the remake just as A Night To Remember is better than Titanic.
Random fun fact. The Reyes's had a short fight scene at the end of the movie Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon in 1985
I would have loved to see the surfer army carrying & waiving the flags while they were surfing.
The guy with the smooth voice is Tone Loc. Home of Funky Cold Medina and Wild Thing. Rob Schneider as a carrot and a stapler. Look it up!
That still wet from the womb joke almost made me choke to death on my soda lol
When Rob waxed his board for like an hour!!🤙
I'm pretty sure the movie briefly shows ninjas offing the officers stationed to watch the kids in their home, so it was more than Robo Nielsen and neighbors who died.
Okkkk let´s go :) Love for Leslie.
Fun Fact: I am an experienced Gang Boss for the Swing Gang, and I know what Oncall Swing does. ;)
Swing gangs in movies make last minute additions and adjustments to sets. I guess they could build a swing set. 🤔
6:58 That is Tone Loc. He sang the song Funky Cold Medina
The most unrealistic thing about this movie is that the kid hasn't gone through dozens of batteries for the game gear.
I loooooove this awful movie. Fun fact, this is where I started appreciating Kelly Hu 😍
Great Voice dude is rapper Tone Loc! He did “ Wild Thing” and “Funky Cold Medina “
