I can tell a difference in the way that it looks. I wonder how it would look if it was lightly sanded first? That way it would be a little easier to clean. I can only imagine how that microfiber must have drug and stuck as you were going over the surface rust. It looks awesome. I love the car! Thank for the video Travis. Now you can do follow up videos on it.
Great vid brother! I just got a 1950 farm truck and I really found this video has the perfect answer to what I’m gonna do. Patina sauce all the way thank you so much
@@TWAMotorsports TW. Man that panina sauce is some good sh-t... 54 came out pretty damn good.. them micro fiber towels are pretty expensive. How many did you use???.
You could sand it down a little with a fine sandpaper to make the rust service a little smoother, and the application of that product will be also a little shinier after rubbing it down.
I am DEFINATELY using this on my Beetle it has about 80% of a 30 year old cheap paint job on it and pretty much the same exposed spots you have but there is a lot of body filler showing. I guess I will try a small area to make sure it doesn't react but I know I would rather sauce it than flat clear and have to deal with all of the disassembly/ masking.
Excellent results!! I'm interested to compare the Penetrol by Flowtrol to the Sweet Patina Sauce... I think I'm going to publish a video on that subject... The only thing that irritated me watching you apply this was the fact you never folded that towel....I'm like dude, just fold the towel...
Pretty cool stuff T, ya know me trying to play catch up on videos… off of work for the last week so I get to enjoy some content as opposed to being at work.
Ive got a 36 ford that is patina and want to try something with it. Penetrol is only $10 vs $40, both look great may have to do my own comparison test if I cant find one. Nice car sir.
take some 0000 bronze wool and chrome polish and clean up the hood ornament and maybe the rest of the chrome.....it takes very little time and the results are crazy good
Where do you live? I love your neighborhood. I live in a cookie cutter tract near Phoenix Arizona and loved seeing your house. I don't understand the rust thing. One thing is that product really changed the color and it didn't look at all like patina anymore. What is important is that you like it.
Please do make a video on the 52.. my 64 impala is flat black and also has those faded looking areas and I'm very curious how it would come out.. thanks for the video 👍🏼👌🏼
Did you make a video or have any feedback on how it looked on the flat black truck? Got a 77 F100 that is flat black and curious how this stuff makes it look! Thanks!
Love your car. I have a ‘54 Bel Aire in similar shape and am looking for a visor and fender skirts so if you have any ideas I’d appreciate the help. Again she’s a beauty! Great job. I’d be curious to see Linseed oil and Pitina sauce side by side.
What is your opinion on spohn vs umi. I'm looking at front control arms and a torque arm for my 2000 z28. Spohn seem to be a good deal. I currently have been getting my suspension stuff from umi. Is it ok to mix suspension companies. Thanks
@@TWAMotorsports thank you. I'm just trying to save money on suspension. So I can spend more in other places. I just dont want to regret and have to change later. On a different note. @@TWAMotorsports you are 100 percent right. I just want it to handle better. And it has 100k on it so I'm sure alot of the factory stuff needs replaced anyway.
Looks good, but $40 a bottle . I've seen people use a simple $2 toilet bowl wax ring melted down and applied warm so it spreads. Three or four rings will do a car and being a wax it protects as well. You can add a solvent to the wax if you want it a bit more watery that evaporates soon enough leaving the wax only.
matte clear was exactly what I was thinking about when watching, and then you said it as well. Very cool ride looking even better. If this stuff does not last very long, any thoughts on actually shooting some clear on it?
Sad that people will buy these snake oils instead of asking an old timer... Rust looking a little orange or bare metal showing? Use a shop towel with used oil on it. Rust is brown already but looking dry, shop towel covered in WD40... YW
Not that method. Old timers use to rub kerosene on single stage paint too. Did it make it shine yes, have newer products improved that...absolutely. just because something is cheaper doesn't dismiss that technology has improved and a product could be better. Its oil right, not a clear coat? So the surface kinda absorbs it? And your hood isnt a level surface... What do you mean it self levels?
Yes oil type but levels out on its own

what does the word patina mean?
Weathered looking or distressed paint
Why not get it painted💔 plans of letting it rust
Never will paint it

Before looks like natural patina, after looks too even and fake. Just spray mat clear to protect the metal and leave it alone.
