This is a really excellent tutorial Mark nice one! Once you get your new system, you should be able to boost render scale to 90-100. Thanks for the shout out and take care. 👍
Great video - I like your balance of to the point but including detail that perhaps others are not aware of. I'm new to VR and have a 3070 / 5600x so I'm keen to find the right balance as I feel I should be getting better performance!
Hi Mark, instead of 70 & 70 render scaling, keep MSFS scaling at 100 and lower the open XR setting until you get the same final resolution (which is shown in sim settings). Because of the nature of TAA anti-aliasing, you will get better clarity for the same number of pixels rendered.
@@SimHangerFS Another benefit is that the digital screens (like G1000) use the sim's render resolution as a baseline for its own. They should be far more readable.
The problem first occurred when both Chrome and Firefox were not detecting my HP HD webcam while writing an exam on AMCAT platform. Does anyone know if upgrading to Oculus Quest 2 from the Q1 is worth it? My PC is capable of running VR pretty decent but I can't help but feel like I'm still missing the smoothness that a lot of people talk about. I have gone through all the graphics improvement videos and done as much as I can and it has all helped immensely bringing the experience from completely unplayable to at least something that I can mess around with. But there is still this annoying jittery movement. I don't think it's the FPS, that seems to be fine. It's almost like this shaking inside the headset and some stuttering outside the cockpit. Is there any reason to think the advantages of the Quest 2 would have any affect on my experience? Here are my specs if anyone has any thoughts. (AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB, 2080rtx)

I have a 4k monitor and I know that it uses more on your GPU when in 2D. But what about in VR? Should I adjust my monitor default resolution to say, 1920x1080? Just curious on your thoughts with this? Thanks again for the great video.

I always get the feeling of overloading my 32gb Ram and is it detrimental to performance if I am. Hope you can understand this.
OpenXR development tools app does not need to be loaded. Set the parameters in the app...and then forget it. WMR will often start once your headset is powered on. This automatically starts the WMR portal, which includes as part of it the OpenXR runtime program. You can then start MSFS etc and continue from there. If you change any parameters in OpenXR developer tools then you need to shut down the VR portal and restart WMR to enable the changes to take effect. What I do, just as a personal preference, when I power the headset I shut down the WMR portal as I don't need it running at that time. I load MSFS, get set up and then using a button on my yoke I have configured to toggle VR mode on and off... I start VR. It then loads up in a few seconds and away I go. Hope this is clear.
