      @@SimHangerFS Can you recommend one motherboard for the Intel i9-10900K? I like two motherboards in particular: Asus Rog Strix Z490-E Gaming and Asus Z490 Rog Maximus XII Hero Wifi. The second is much more expensive. If it really does the same in terms of overcloking and performance then I prefer the first which is cheaper. For Intel I am really thinking to buy a better one if we have the profit of it. What do you think? And another thing: Do I need PSU with 1000 W for the intel processor if we overclock it to 5.3 GHz? Or can I stay with a PSU with 850 W?

    Hi Mark, instead of 70 & 70 render scaling, keep MSFS scaling at 100 and lower the open XR setting until you get the same final resolution (which is shown in sim settings). Because of the nature of TAA anti-aliasing, you will get better clarity for the same number of pixels rendered.

    The problem first occurred when both Chrome and Firefox were not detecting my HP HD webcam while writing an exam on AMCAT platform. Both the browsers automatically chose screen capture recorder as my webcam, and I was not being allowed to manually change this selection. I later uninstalled OBS Studio and several other video recording and editing software, but Chrome detects a screen capture recorder as a webcam. I uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome, but to no avail. I want Chrome to detect only my built-in HP HD webcam.

    Does anyone know if upgrading to Oculus Quest 2 from the Q1 is worth it? My PC is capable of running VR pretty decent but I can't help but feel like I'm still missing the smoothness that a lot of people talk about. I have gone through all the graphics improvement videos and done as much as I can and it has all helped immensely bringing the experience from completely unplayable to at least something that I can mess around with. But there is still this annoying jittery movement. I don't think it's the FPS, that seems to be fine. It's almost like this shaking inside the headset and some stuttering outside the cockpit. Is there any reason to think the advantages of the Quest 2 would have any affect on my experience?
    Here are my specs if anyone has any thoughts.

    Great video and very thorough. My question is, do you know if having a certain monitor resolution makes a difference in performance with your VR headset? I have a 4k monitor and I know that it uses more on your GPU when in 2D. But what about in VR? Should I adjust my monitor default resolution to say, 1920x1080? Just curious on your thoughts with this? Thanks again for the great video.

    • @SimHangerFS
      @SimHangerFS  3 роки тому

      Great question, and one that has been debated often. It should not make a difference in MSFS as it uses a separate set of graphic resolutions...but opinions do vary. I have both 1440 p and 4K and results have not been conclusive. The debate continues!

    Always enjoy your videos, thank you. Always clear and concise. There is one thing That I hope you can help with as I haven't been able to find, and that with my VR Reverb G2, what exactly should I be loading before/after msfs2020 and in what order between Mixed Reality Portal, OpenXR, OpenXR Developers, then MSFS 2020. I always get the feeling of overloading my 32gb Ram and is it detrimental to performance if I am. Hope you can understand this.

    • @SimHangerFS
      @SimHangerFS  3 роки тому

      OpenXR development tools app does not need to be loaded. Set the parameters in the app...and then forget it. WMR will often start once your headset is powered on. This automatically starts the WMR portal, which includes as part of it the OpenXR runtime program. You can then start MSFS etc and continue from there. If you change any parameters in OpenXR developer tools then you need to shut down the VR portal and restart WMR to enable the changes to take effect. What I do, just as a personal preference, when I power the headset I shut down the WMR portal as I don't need it running at that time. I load MSFS, get set up and then using a button on my yoke I have configured to toggle VR mode on and off... I start VR. It then loads up in a few seconds and away I go. Hope this is clear.

    I bought a G2 a few months ago and while FS is playable sometimes especially in non-urban areas, it's just too inconsistent and janky to bother with. At this point, currently, FS is the worst performing VR game/app by a significant margin. The most likely culprit is FS's extremely poor processor utilization (from a multithreading standpoint). It's been under a year since release and numerous performance related bugs have already been ironed out so I'm not without hope...but man is it ever annoying for now.
