Dude thank you so much. Ive recently discovered msfs. Even bought a 4070 ti for it. And your tips here have the game looking exactly how i wanted it. Its perfect. Thanks so much for putting this together, you are really good at what you do!
OMG. I have tried it, and I wasn't aware of how you could make the sim look even more realistic... thank you for that
Glad it worked well for you Steven :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
Great video. Unfortunately, there are virtual pilots here on UA-cam who prefer to hide even this kind of information and when you ask what the secret of the realistic colors of their msfs is, they simply say: If you see it, it's my secret (as if the merit was theirs and the not from the Nvidia tool).
Thanks for sharing, without people like you the world of virtual simulation and tutorials on UA-cam would not be the same
Sir you've done it again! You are an artist with these tweaks. Not only is my sim running smoother than before, but your color tweaks make it look so much more realistic! Thank you... The Nvidia GeForce overlay doesn't seem to make it any less smooth on my system by the way..
Haha glad to have helped you out mate. The colour corrections made a world of a difference for me and I'm glad I was able to do the same for you guys as well :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
You are incredible my friend !! I followed the advice from your 1st vid ( graphics settings ) my game now runs smooth like butter . I have the same cpu as you with a 2070 super so very similar hardware . And my colours are now insanely realistic … thankyou !!!!’
hey mate ! here´s my LIKE AND COMMENT ! these tutorials are awesone ! i agree 100%, number 1 its my favourite.
I aplied all this config with RTX 3080TI and also 1080p, its wonderful !
My greetings from ARGENTINA !
Thank you so much mate - congratulations on beating Australia to get into the quarter finals by the way - much love for Argentina :)
Again!!! FAN-TAS-TIC video, gentleman 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much mate! Glad I could help :)
Man AGAIN you make my Sim Beautiful with the sharp fix Thanks a lot buddy really appreciated😊🎉
Glad I could be of help my man!
As you already said it depends on the monitor settings u use. I tried your settings but reverted back to using no profile as it turned out i had my colour settings pretty dialed in within my monitor itself. Just wanted to see if i could get the little extra but turned out i was already there :) but thank you for putting these vids out as they will help others a lot
Hey there! Great Video! Really helped reshape my sim- just a little bit of general feedback from the user.cg. If anyone wanted to change their settings again and had the user.cg set to read only, this would not be possible and the settings wouldn't get changed/ Just wanted to put it out there if anyone had experienced the same issue as me, so if you prefer to leave the User.cfg file as it is with read only just remember to change it from read only before you change setttings! Once again, great vid and hope to see more
I Have AMD Chip and not NVIDIA, but in-spite of that, the Changes which you Recommended Inside the MSFS Settings, made a Huge Difference on My Two Year Old Mid Range Allienware Desktop!! What a Hugh Change when I fly & Many Many thanks !!!
Thank you so much Themton. Glad I could be of help to you in some capacity :)
So pleased to have found you again ,do you remember ,me ? Ocean going Sea Captain from Perth Western Australia. (retired)
I must add you have not dropped from the declaration I made as a "Legend " still stands **Big Aussie Smile **
Did I read so,me where you we struggling with health issues ? Respectful forever and a day best wishes .Rob
Great video, and I'm loving the color recommendations.
Glad to hear it Marcus! Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
Thank you so much for these tips! My sim world looks so much more realistic, especially the sky!
Glad to have been able to help out Peter! Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
You rock man!! We have similar computers and monitors! It is night and day... Thanks for the video!!!!
No worries at all man. Glad I could help out :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
Thank you for clarifying the bit about image scaling. I was utterly confused when you said to turn it on, and then your program settings for MSFS showed it set to off.
No worries at all mate. I know it caused quite a bit of confusion and I therefore wanted to address it at the earliest to steer people in the right direction :)
This was very helpful! My personnel favorite was Color Profile 2, and I just added Sharpen+ with the Tint intensity at 20 and the tint at 20 aswell and I think it makes it even better! In my opinion, Profile 1 is just a bit too bright for me
Same with your settings Hour well spent Thanks for the tip
@@pauleyplay same for me xD
@pilottech9141 I tried profile 2 and added your settings but doesn't it look super cold?
Didn't even know that Nvidia had the in-game overlaying. I'll be trying it out. Thanks for doing the work for us, otherwise I wouldn't have known where to begin.
Well there you go Akashi! Glad I could bring it to your attention :) Always happy to do the work for the community :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
This is amazing! Finally...that overexposed and washed out look is a thing of the past for me. Thank you!!
Thanks so much. I used the suggestions and graphics settings in this and the previous video (tweaked for my setup - six fan custom built desktop with OC and personal tastes). Most everything is as I want it, just a few more adjustments and all should be excellent. I do have a quick off-topic question for you, however. At the 7 minute mark in this video there is an area at the bottom and slightly left side of the screen that is densely populated with trees. That same area has very sparse coverage of trees in my sim. Any suggestions as to the reason for that? Thanks again.
You favorite is 110% more realistic than the one I was using for the last 6 mos. from "Major Tom",
absolutely stunning...! 💯
Thanks mate! Glad you found it helpful :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
If im using HDR what changes do you recommend based on your favoured preset? thank you great job!
I had a lot of issues with my color settings.. this really helped me out a lot!
Glad it helped Andy :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
food color settings?
Thank you so much for these tips!🙃
Thank you very much, I was looking for a way to do these tweaks without using these "reshade" mods that are going round. Great work and these look very good.
Do you have anything against reshade? Just asking cause I tried it recently
Thanks for another great video tutorial! 😃
I'm the one that made that "clever" comment about the UserCfg.opt file! 😅
In that file you can do a bunch of stuff, also break alot of stuff, so a backup of that file is highly recomended.
One thing i like to do, is in the {Shadows} section....set the MaxSliceCount to 4 and Size from the default 1536 to ie 2048 or 4096, then you won't have those "jagged" flickering shadows in the cockpit! 🙂
Hey there mate, you are quite clever with your comments I must say. Thanks for the additional tips you've provided here! I'll try out the shadows fix and let you know how it all went :)
@@FlyBySimulations You're welcome buddy, I'm on your Discord, just give me a shout how my other tip worked out about the shadow stuff! 🙂
Love the videos and can't thank you enough. I've used your recommended settings in previous video and have better FPS in VR.
Just wondering if you can use the game filter in a VR?
Thank you so much Michael - glad you're enjoying the content :) I can't see why you couldn't use these settings for VR, though I'm no expert at VR so don't quote me on it. Try it and see for yourself ;) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
Amazing mate, your tutorials are the best I have ever seen. Can I ask what scenery your using for Vancouver?
Thanks a lot mate! Appreciate it:) I'm using complete default scenery for Vancouver haha.
hello FlyBy Simulations, thanks for sharing your configurations, could you tell me which City and Airport is the one seen in the video
Hi, I have revisited this with your settings video now I have a new PC. Excellent as always. Thanks. One question. When trying to amend the Usercfg.opt file, I use WordPad but the file when corrected saves as a WordPad document not an opt file. Any suggestions on how to save as opt file?
Thanks for that, looks really good. I notice on your profiles, on the very top, you have "image sharpening" set to 0%. On mine it's greyed out and I cant move it. Any tips?
Thanks again!
Are there any freeware scenery packs you recommend? Very informative and helpful video btw
Thanks! How do we save these profiles? Do they load again or do we have to start from scratch every time we start the sim??
Funny, I think your third is the most realistic by far. Colors in RL do pop out a lot rather than being washed out. Ofc it depends on the time and location I guess.
In Denmark sunsets are pretty much your profile 3 style of color.
Hey mate, hope you can help. I followed everything, but when i change dials like my altitude on the autopilot or when i scroll through my flightplan on my MCDU, it gets verry blurry. Is that normal?
exellent bro. full of value your content!
Thanks mate! Glad you think so :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
@@FlyBySimulations Done subscribed! thanks!!
That's for the great video. Can anyone give me a hint, why the nvidia colour profiles don't have any visual effect when looking through the Reverb glasses? On the monitor I see the changes but not through the VR lenses.
When I try the colour filtering in Geforce Experience it says it requires a supported game? I did have it optimized by Geforce but switched to your settings in the previous video.
Are these profiles automatically started/added after first doing? Or do we have to Alt F3 everytime.
excellent video im going through it slowly it improved immensley
This man is just incredible! I love it, Thanks for the realism + 1 Like and subscribe.
Thank you for the video!

Another outstanding video, thank you!😁🛫
No worries at all. Appreciate all the support :)
Thanks for getting rid of those furry looking clouds with the film grain setting! Bothered me for SO long.
Great job man.

do you know why when im in menus my gpu will be 100% all the time then when i load into an airport the gpu drops to around 50%?
So beautiful, thanks
First of all thanks a lot!
With your first & favored SetUp it's (for me) waaaaaay to blue'ish and bright - I already set down the Gamma to 0, tbh.
I'm using a G9 NEO with HDR on.
Great tip about the Gamma setting mate - might try it out myself too :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
I tried the geforce filters out for the first time. Your recommendations are excellent! I use a 90% similar style #1 as you. I also have a Reverb G2 on order. Do you know if these settings work with VR too?
Hey mate, glad I could help out :)) I'm not sure 100% if the settings will work on VR, but I don't see why not - try them out and see if they help :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
when i try it it says that you need a supported game to use this feature and im also using msfs? Any idea?
will these settings stick to when I switch over in VR? Cause my VR colors seem pretty white washed and bland looking.
This is cool - I was hoping the crashes would have subsided - but this still gives me fits... have dig a little deeper maybe. I also note that the MAPS enhancer App has some simple color and contrast changes you can make . FYI
Regards
Fantastic, can you share a profile for sharp night lighting. Thanks
Subscribed!
Welcome mate!
Hi FlyBy I want to know when you show the fix of the Image scaling you have said in this video. Thanks for your time!!!!
Hey Carlos, thanks for watching. It's mentioned towards the time when I start talking about Geforce Experience near the middle of the video. The fix is to simply turn off image scaling in Geforce experience settings as it might have turned on automatically when you turned it on the Nvidia CP. Cheers!
Very tech bro, interesting. Thanks!
Haha thanks bro :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
@@FlyBySimulations I subscribed long ago, cheers
Hi, thanks for tutorial, but how to set odd value and decimal value?
What's annoying is that there is no way to save the settings properly. After a driver update it's all gone and you have to do a new set up.
I wrote to Nvidia support about that. They confirmed it's not realized at the moment.
Will these setting mess with others things other than MSFS? It would be detrimental to photo and video editing.
There is one thing, I absolutely can't find my user confg ,, and I've tried everything including the full address bar with user name etc ,, shall I do an uninstall and reinstall , a clean one , have you a vid fir that ,,
hello sorry how do you open the nvidia panel to test the colors?
Note on settings read only on config files. With future updates this file may see changes which can’t be added if the file is set to read only.
Good point Paul - thanks for pointing it out for other viewers that might come across this comment :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
My system consists of CPU i7-10700F GPU RTX 3090 Oc from ROG RAM 64GB What settings can I make in MSFS in 4K so that it runs well?
11:03 this how my sim will never look like. Even with all ur settings😅
I run a 3060ti and a ryzen 5 5600x on 2k resolution. But my sim is looking so washed and blurred. Ur looks so clean and detailed
I been trying to setup my graphics but now for some reason when I enter alt + f3 it only show image sharpening, so I cant do nay details like color, temp, ect., any ideas, btw I running a 11900k, 32g ram, rtx3090,
usually you can fill this list by pressing a button and fill this list with setting you want to change - but hope you already found out :)
how to avoid Nvidia resetting the profile whenever the gpu driver being updated?
fantastic guide, I'm living in Vancouver so it is amazing. Just one question, where did you get the seasonal textures of the trees please? thanks
Thanks mate. Seasonal tree textures are courtesy of REX Accuseason Advanced. Do consider subscribing for more!
How do I get to the drone mode shown in the video?
why everytime i click on 1 2 or 3 it resets the colors? like it doesnt save it
Thx. I suggest you , give a chance Bijain season + 30% terrain mask. (Fall N - Spring S)
When I open the filters menu, only "sharpening" appears and I can't even adjust it. There's no plus sign to add filters. I have an RTX 2070s and the latest driver. Experimental features are enabled. Any ideas?
Hmm, that's weird Matt. It should appear and I'm not sure it isn't appearing on your end. From what I'm seeing online, people are saying you might need to reinstall your drivers but for me, it appeared right away, as MSFS has been an nvidia-supported game since the very beginning. Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
will this run on windows 11 ?.. the bad part is internet... 15 down and 1.5 up
Do these settings work well for VR?

I have a strange question, what can I change if I am looking at night towards the horizon I see all the brightness of the cities below and if I shift my gaze towards the screens the lights of the city see them very low?
eye adaptation
it says that a supported game has to be running to optimize it?
i tryed this settings and now my sim looks so bad it looks grainy where there is no clouds
Thank you!
very good tutorial. My sim is looking great now...

@@FlyBySimulations already done that
Lol, I can not decide between 1 or 2, both looks really good

While I love this video and kudos to you for going the extra mile in making this sort of specific content, these settings seriously didn't work for me. Your 'best' one looks like some sort of weird modern art piece on my monitor with some sort of instagram filter. The other two are barely acceptable but still nothing on the original game settings. I wonder if Vancouver being in spring rather than Autumn is the reason?
Either way, great video even if the end result on my end didn't match your great picture quality. I've got the tools now to play around with things on my own. Thanks!
I'm going to test your improvements in old Nvidia GTX 1070ti, I'll let you know if work out.
Fantástic 👍
It might seem strange, but setting your Nvidia Control Panel / Power management mode to "Prefer maximum performance" can REDUCE your framerate and introduce stuttering. This can happen when thermal throttling kicks in. It's best to actually test changes to the power management setting, especially if you're overclocking your GPU. Personally, I've found that "Optimum power" gives me the best result, but the best setting depends on your graphics card and case cooling. If you have a water-cooled graphics card, use the max performance setting, otherwise you should try a different setting, especially if you experience stuttering in games.
Hmm, that's an interesting tip - I'll do some testing of my own to verify this, but what you're saying does make some sense to a certain extent - gotta get back to the lab I guess ;) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
@@FlyBySimulations we need update on this
mine says "A supported game is required" with I use Alt F3
I wonder if these tweaks are still up to date.
Im not able to edit the cfg files because Windows 10 wont let me open the folder where they are stored
Hmm, that's odd mate. Try searching up how to open locked folders in windows 10 - I have had no problems about this before. Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
Has anyone found a way to save as a preset the filters? At every drivers update they get deleted...
No mate, Nvidia themselves need to include this as a feature but it just hasn't happened. I implore you to take a photo of your settings prior to doing driver updates, as it's very annoying to have to figure it all out over and over again. Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!

Is this channel the actual FlyBY Simulations Developer that created the Airbus a320 for Microsoft Fight sim?
Haha fair comment mate, this is not the FlyByWire Simulations official developer YT channel - my channel name has been FlyBy Simulations since even before the development team was incorporated, as my channel's been around before MSFS 2020 even came out ;) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
You mentioned that each monitor is different, but even the same monitor can have multiple settings (Graphics, Movies, Standard, etc.) What do you have your physical monitor set to?
That's a fantastic point John - thanks for pointing this out for the other viewers who might have come across your comment. My physical dell monitor is set to default settings - so it's set to the standard profile which has brightness and colours maxed out out from what I understand. Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
ever since the newest update my game runs choppy and stuttery. Ran just fine before. I tried all the settings tweaks with no results. Do I need to update to Windows 11? I cant imagine that would be the magical fix but who knows
Hmm, I'm not sure if Windows 11 would help, but if it helps, I'm running this on Windows 11, so who knows if that's the answer. Try clearing your rolling cache file and if not, perform a full reinstall. I also have a full settings guide as I mentioned, so do make sure to check it out prior to implementing the colour filters explained in this video :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
Why does everyone say nvidia GeForce experience decreases fps? For me, it brought me from 20-30 to 60+
I have an i5 12400f and 4070
does this work for VR`?
I get like - 10fps everytime the Nvidia Filter is running. Having it turned off results in minimum 7 more fps...
what is the name of the city that you are using for the colorfiltering
Hey Jeff, as mentioned in the video, it's Vancouver, BC in Canada :)
another user config solution would be to copy it to another folder or hard drive then replace the one after update.
Great point. Can't pin more than 1 comment or else this would have definitely gone up. Thanks for bringing it up :) Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
Also is my user name the name at the top of my msfs game , ? Or is it my p.c name I've chosen
Thanks for the settings! What do you think about monitors that have HDR capability though? Should one changes the video colours and settings if the game is running with HDR? I tried using your option #1 but with HDR on, it just made the whole thing look like a washed out bright screen.
