Nice little no-nonsense 10 minutes of pretty classical Pilates. If you want a straight-forward ab set for a 10-minute refresher this one is very good.

I've been doing this routine 5 days a week , but I also add another routine and a 30 minute run on the treadmill and so far I've been doing this for one week

This is my new daily workout! So far, I can perform it just past halfway. Today was easier than the past few days.

I was looking for a little low impact workout since my back and shoulder has been bothering me. I did this workout after a 30 min Pilates workout at home. I am sure I will feel it in the next day or two.

I agree. I started with Lara Hudson's 10 minute pilates 13 years ago, and i haven't found much that's comparable until now
I agree with you. I have Lara Hudson DVDs & still use them on a regular basis, 5x weekly for 30 minutes daily. But I am looking for other options, & I really like this particular video for abs.

Y’all i never usually comment but let me tell you about this workout. This is from the perspective of someone who casually works outs. Like I go to the gym 3-5 days a week but I’m not in that like gym club you know of, the type of people who have the clothes and they look like they could be in vs, sports illustrated, or some fitness magazine. Anyways so she starts off the workout and its like eh i made it proud of myself for doing this, cringe, here it goes. And prep, I am prepped for face scrunching, odd grunting, and every fiber of my body telling me to stop (such has been my prior experience w/ other ab workouts). So she starts off some moves and she has this really calm voice that tells you how and when to breathe. This is good for me as breathing during a workout is not something I would get a gold star in. I need to be constantly reminded or else the pain freezes me and I don’t breathe. And so i follow her breath guidelines and guys it was going well, it does not feel like the grim reaper was going to stop by for a vacation. Then she says something about now at this point your abs might be burning. I dont know if she is a sorceress, but kid not, not a minute later, my abs are burning. BUT I dont feel that deaths knocking at my door. She may have put me in some sort of trance/hypnosis state,idk -Watch the mentalist they talk about this stuff.So anyways I am hypnotized now and my abs are burning I feel as if I am bordering on scrunched face state. Then all the sudden she switches it and were on our sides. I am not going to sit here and pretend as if I like the side exercises. Because I don’t. They are hard. You need balance and side core strength; all of which I have none of. But they are doable with a couple fall out of position slips. I feel as if I am Ariel when we I do this exercise, though.Every time I come up and swing my arm over my head , I imagine I am on my rock trying to catch the eye of Prince Eric. The exercises slow down then and we end off in child’s pose and I bask in my mermaid pride glory that came from this workout. Next day....I cant really breathe my abs hurt so much but every time I feel the pain it reminds me that I am getting my mermaid muscles.Point being, I would recommend.

Tbh I only done it for 5 days so I don’t really see result but I try on doing it for a month
Great abs session! I can't do planks because of an injury but love pilates core work so I just have to adapt somehow as am yet to find a pilates core without planks!!
I do this one regularly. Today my husband did it with me. He does a lot of cycling and climbing but he struggled 😅he was surprised! 😊

Hi, I am overweight I have had a csection many years ago not sure if that contributes. I can’t complete the first exercise going up at all. Any exercises to help improve this?

Yes! It's still working! After a while, your body and muscles become stronger and get used to the same repetition. Just because it gets easier doesn't mean it's not working it just means that you're getting stronger! I would recommend adding more workouts as well as this one. Switch it up so that you can reach your full potential! Good luck and keep going! 💪

What if you can’t sit up from the laying position? I have no core!
although i am not a lady nevertheless i enjoyed the exercise. ;)
When I do the mermaid things near the end it more hurts the shoulder I am leaning on more so than anything else! Am I doing it wrong?
It sounds like you may be sort of "sinking" into your bottom shoulder. Try to engage your upper back muscles to help lift up out of your shoulder girdle. If that doesn't help I would recommend putting your bottom knee of the ground and built up some strength through your shoulders and obliques, then try the full variation after a few weeks...But keep working on it -- it's definitely a HARD exercise!

If it's too fast you can change the video speed to 0.75 or 0.5. Voice will sound weird but who cares 😁

V Love I don't think it should and if it is you should make sure your back is completely flat on your mat or the ground
no, that means that your abs are not strong enough yet for this routine. only go so far as you feel a slight pull, but any more and you will be injuring your back. also keep your back flat on the ground! if it lifts up it is bad news

great workout, but after the 4th nice job ladies I got annoyed, 67 year old man.
Now I m guessing, maybe, just maybe, before end of the month, they will try to paint my name w very UGLY DIRT, making me feel ashamed of myself.
